Brilliant food, friendly and helpfully staff and management when discussing food allergies. Lovely atmosphere. Definitely returning.

Went here earlier this week, started off really nice, the atmosphere was great and the staff was friendly. Me and my significant other ordered food, starters and mains, the starters came out fast and was nice, however we then waited quite awhile for the mains, witch was ok at first however when they arrived they wasn’t good, my significant other had a fish and chips witch they did enjoy however my “mega mixed grill” was far from mega, the steaks was way over cooked (well done) and the chicken was so dry you’d think it had been left out in the sun for hours, dispute this we was still going to have desert until it took the staff over 10 minutes to clear out plates even though we had stacked them on the edge of the table to show we was done with them. This was also a very quiet night with only 2 other tables in the lounge eating. Made the whole thing just feel awful, which is a shame given how well it started won’t be coming back.

Good service, good company and excellent atmosphere

Whats not to love! The food is great, the service is great, the screen for the football is great, the atmosphere they create during matches is great, only downside is, its a bit of a treak for me!

The food was gorgeous. Bar was understaffed, with only one member of staff between two rooms, but the staff were lovely and the atmosphere cosy and comfortable.

Staff were very friendly and very accommodating for my daughters birthday meal. They even came out and sung her happy birthday. Food was excellent, will definitely be back and would highly recommend you to friends and family

Walked in & was seated straight away, no waiting around which was really refreshing. The bar staff were/are really friendly & helpful. The food was hot and very tasty, absolutely no complaints. There was no rush to leave the table and were not harassed by staff asking is everything alright while we were eating, the way it should be. Thanks

We had our Old Lane Christmas Quiz dinner last night and we were really happy with the food and the service. Gone are the days when one heard the microwave ping & somebody would call out that the ‘salad was done’! It was easy to book online for each person in our group. Regular communications were duly received by email and we arrived to find our table set up and ‘ready to go’. All three courses were served promptly, well-cooked and fresh. A lovely evening and massive thanks have to go to Phil & his team!

Went with running friends for the festive meal. I had turkey and banoffee pie. Food was excellent, speedy service and we got crackers. Would recommend and look forward to our next meal there. Thank you 🙂

Visited with my running buddies for our Christmas get together and had great food which was extremely tasty and the service was absolutely brilliant will be going back

went January waited hour between courses missed a steak well done .when it did arrive it was sat in a puddle of blood if you had given it a electric shock it would of ran off the plate.did go for six months went in July 13 what a difference well steak prefect friendly staff will be going back like we used to

We've eaten in here recently and twice now. Each time was without a reservation but the 2nd time was very early evening so we found a table for the two of us although a lot of the tables were reserved for Xmas parties and meals. The menu is fairly good with something for most people and it's reasonably priced. The staff and service are good too. I'm sure we'll be eating there again in the near future.

Nine of us went and had a meal 11/07/23 it was excellent food ,five of our party have not been there before they was very impressed. When the bill came my aunt thought there was a mistake she was expecting it to be a lot more. Good atmosphere.for the two hours we was there.

After a slight glitch with the table and the incorrect meal ordered, the food was delightful. Fresh. Filling. Soft drinks pretty pricey. Despite all, I probably would visit again.

We go every time it's one of my kids birthday and the staff are always friendly and the meals are always very nice and leave you filled up.

Really nice bar/restaurant and great for us because you serve food late on a Sunday. I was gigging in nearby Corsham and everywhere there shuts early on a Sunday!! Thank you for the lovely vegan options too. I had the cauliflower wings to start and then the Thai curry, both exceptional. Thank you.

Friendly pub, lovely food but they say disabled friendly but do not have a designated disabled toilet.

What a dump. Food is cheap and nasty. Decor is dark and dingy. Place needs to be closed and made into another old people's home.

I booked a table online; I began the booking process 40 minutes before my family wanted to have lunch. The process was quick and simple and our table was booked without issue. We found our table easily, with a reservation card and our name and time on. I ordered our food at the bar, the customer service was excellent. I asked to use a discount that I had, but there was an issue with it. The manager manually applied the discount for me. Our food was brought to us promptly, I was grateful that they didn't bring out my young daughters' meal last, which seems to be the practice in many places. The food was delicious, with generous portion sizes. I also appreciated that no one interrupted to ask if our meal was okay. We had a really great experience at the Old Lane pub, as we have done previously.

Have to be honest, my expectations of the food wasn’t that great and normally it’s somewhere I wouldn’t go even though I have known of the Pub for years I know a lot of people who watch football down there and wrongly thought it was a chain with conveyor food just chucked in the microwave so accept my sincere apologies for that. We went here yesterday as a table of six it had a good extensive menu with plenty of choice. I had a steak which was cooked to perfection. Also had Rocky Road Sunday which was very nice. The five other people I was with enjoyed their food too, Couldn’t fault the service or the time it took for the food to come out , price was reasonable overall I would definitely recommend it Especially for lunchtime.

Had a very nice lunch, had the ultimate veggie burger and was lovely, my partner had the vegetarian pie and was very impressed with the quality and it being a proper pie, I couldn't finish all my fries so he dealt with them

Absolutely lovely meal burger was delicious and my hunters chicken was stunning. We had a meal then watched the football was served by a lovely bubbly girl Zoe who served us some lush cocktails..... Phil the manager was very helpful and friendly. We will definitely be back.

We went on a walk and stopped off at the old lane for a bite to eat. Food was amazing, salt and chilli chicken kebab and fries and bacon burger, finished off with a glass of something cold.

The staff of this establishment are fantastic. My brother held his wedding there, and they pulled out all the stops. Worked so hard to make it THE PERFECT day in so many ways. Thank you for helping us to make fantastic memories. On an ordinary day, the staff are still fantastic, the food lovely, and atmosphere good.

Fantastic food and fantastic service

Upon arrival I was greeted with smiles and made to feel welcome by two lovely ladies behind the bar. Chloe and Sam were very friendly and as it was a little quiet I was able to enjoy a very pleasant conversation with them. All in all it was a lovely afternoon spent at the Old Lane. I was only there for a drink so cannot comment on the food.

I had a lovely meal there & was greeted by a lovely member of staff named Trin, she made us all feel warm & welcome, it was a joy to be served by her great energy & friendly approach

Large Marston pub in a residential area. First visit to Chippenham and selected Old Lane for our first meal. We were not disappointed. Nice table in a bay window and great food. Much better than expected and our anticipation had been high. Service was very good and pricing very reasonable indeed. The best meal we had in Chippenham.

Had an evening meal with my wife and son. Busy for a Tuesday evening even at 18:00. Ordered Cowboy burger, scampi and Surf and turf. Was not disappointed with the meals which were very reasonably priced. Steak was done exactly as ordered and tender. Only let down was the house red wines which were a bit thin. Perhaps the house wine selection needs a review. Will comeback again and try the specials.

Amazing food, menu for coeliac diet is amazing !!!! Food services hot and very tasty . Staff helpful and happy . Will 100% be going back . This was a first visit here but not my last !

Came here with a dear friend to share Guinness and reminisce. I was promptly served by Chloe and Sam (who pour excellent pints by the way) and settled in to enjoy the lively yet homely atmosphere of this excellent pub nestled in the heart of historic Pewsham.

Service was excellent as always, food was served promptly and to an exceedingly good standard. Pool table was a bit funny at times however the staff were accommodating and fixed it within minutes.

I found myself in front of an empty fridge one Thursday evening. I had no desire to go shopping, or cook. I remembered The Old Lane has specials on, and Thursday is steak night! Although most of the tables were reserved, we were told we could eat, but would need to vacate for 8.30pm- not a problem and I appreciated being squeezed in. My daughter and I both had enjoyable meals. Would I come here for a romantic meal? Nope. Would I come with friends or family? Yes. The pub does what is expected of a friendly local boozer. Friendly service (Katie served us) and decent food, at a good price.

I visited this pub for the first time with my friend for our joint birthday dinner and catch up. The staff were really nice and helped us find a table we could stay at all night as it was quiz night and the table we booked was only available until 7:30pm (we left at 10:30pm!). Zoe and Phil (? Male bar staff) are fabulous, couldn't ask for more a helpful team of staff. The food was excellent - I had the Ultimate Chicken Burger and my friend had the Hunters Chicken, both meals had big portions, well cooked food and great value for money, I highly recommend.

This is such a great place if you want a quick bite. It’s always such a welcoming place, the staff are fab (thanks especially to Katie for looking after us so well), and the food is hot and tasty. We booked last minute but were accommodated, even though the pub was quite full. When we went, there was a 30% off mains offer on, so the bill for two was under £30, including drinks, which is amazing. I really recommend this place, especially for a midweek dinner. It’s got a welcome vibe and the food is tasty and good value. What’s not to like?!

Took Mum (fussy eater) to The Old Lane (mid Saturday afternoon) to try somewhere new as we were running out of ideas, Very pleased to see a great, varied menu which Zoe (barmaid) was happy to mix & match to accommodate Mums palate, lovely food & service, a large pub with a relaxed atmosphere, nice to see a sports bar separate from a dining area & outside seating, plenty of parking & ease of access. We didn't book a table but noticed many tables reserved for the evening so probably best to book in advance.

Took our parents to this pub to celebrate my father in laws 91st Birthday. The hosts Zoe and Phil were very welcoming and friendly and made our experience very pleasurable. The food was excellent, it is a long time since I had a steak cooked the way I like it for under £13. Would recommend this local pub without hesitation.

I've been to the Old Lane several times now and have never had a bad meal! We picked several sharing starters for our party and all were enjoyed, with large portions for both the starters and the mains. Zoe and Phil on the staff were helpful and checked in on us frequently. We also had a birthday and the staff were happy to store a bought cake we'd brought in and to bring it out later while singing happy birthday. Lovely experience all around.

Visited Tuesday burger night....and both chose burgers, one veggie which was absolutely delicious with fries and likewise for the meat eater with me, drink included in deal 😋 no downside, stayed for an extra drink too....definitely recommend 😀

We have been coming here for ages & have never been disappointed. Also family & pet friendly. It would be great if they had a play area for the kids it’s really got the out door space. It’s also a nice place to sit outside in the summer months.

Chloe was under great pressure behind the bar on a very hot day a packed pub , beer garden and restaurant ,live Football and to boot nobody collecting glasses / plates. She should be commended for being so calm and tolerant when it was so very busy.

Came in for a pint and a bit to eat after 2pm. Chloe and Sam were lovely, gave us some amazing details about draught on offer, and we're very warm and welcoming. Food came out hot and looked amazing. The cider was cold, refreshing and very tasty. Will recommend the old lane to friends and family

Excellent meal and service. I had Gammon, and wife had Cod. Very enjoyable and would recommend Improved greatly, especially in quality of cooking over previous experiences.

We went for anniversary meal .Booked table for Sunday lunch online which was very easy to do. Food choices where good and plenty.Staff especially young lady taken our order/paid bill ever so nice and friendly.Food was yummy and plenty.We had starter main and pudding plus 1 drink each.Every course was very tastefull and well presented. Definitely be going back.Bonus was accepts blue light.

We hold our Armed Forces Veterans breakfast club here. Always very welcoming and great service.

The staff here at the The Old Lane are brilliant, they open the doors early so a few military veterans can gather for a meet-up. This event is important because it gives some people a life line. The staff are very courteous and attentive and what they provide is always very appreciative.

I was served by Lucy and Sam, they was both great. Fish and chips was banging highly recommend.

Electronic booking system great unlike a recent experience I had with a Greene King pub in Bath which I visited on my birthday and which disappointed. This is the best Tikka Massala I’ve taste in a very long time. My partner had fish & chips & he always checks to see the fish is a nice white colour & it was just so. The desserts also very nice. We had sponge pudding & the salted caramel brownie. Thanks to the staff who were very prompt, friendly & courteous. We visited twice last year but we will definitely be dining again soon as our no 1 choice.

We went there on an impulse and found it very full. As it was Wednesday it was 4 curries for us and quite a bargain at £11.20 each.

Been here a few times and the food is nice . But it is annoying that a certain table gets reserved for a certain group of people every day so they can drink and feel like no one else can sit there .
