My partner and I had a half day in Teignmouth whilst staying at nearby Torquay. On arrival we visited this coffee shop and weren’t disappointed. Great coffee, a good choice of cakes and a lovely window seat. What more could we ask for before exploring the town.

We had lunch here while staying in Dawlish on holiday. The owner of Welcome2Warren where we were staying told us it was a nice place to eat, and she wasn't wrong on that score. I like the clean and inviting cafe, and they had a good range of items on the menu. It was busy which means it must be popular. We had a lovely lunch and great coffee. I would come again on my next break away to Devon.

Approve of full gamut of non-dairy milks and pleasantly surprised by high proportion of their cakes suitable for vegans (as well as gluten-free, I understand). Appreciate that despite tables occupied, it wasn't noisy when I visited.

We visited Saturday during the air show so understandably busier than normal. I wanted to support local rather than a chain like subway. I ordered two panini’s and was told they would be 25-30 minutes wait. I was fine with that. After quite a while one of the young waitresses came and said they were going to be one more minute and would that be ok. Having already waited for quite a while I said of course (like an extra minute was going to make any difference at this point). Another 5 minutes passed and our food was finally brought out. My Apple Pay notification indicated that we had actually been waiting 50 minutes which meant we had missed almost an hour of the show (we could hear the planes). Food was average at an ok price but on days when you know you are going to be busier maybe bring an extra panini maker or prepare in advance.

Although our scones were good - as they should be from Shaldon Bakery - service was incredibly slow. There's plenty of nicer places to eat and get decent coffee in Teignmouth so I wouldn't bother with this one unless you have to.

Located just a short stroll from the esplanade, this small café/coffee shop is fairly basic in appearance but clean and up together and offers a decent enough selection of snacks majoring on sandwiches and toasties, with a few jacket potatoes and other bits and pieces thrown in. Do note though that the prices shown on their website are out of date, the ones in store are higher than this. Staff seemed friendly enough, although the odd smile wouldn’t have gone amiss. I opted for the Bacon, Brie and Cranberry Panini which came with tortilla chips and their “rainbow” salad. This was a pretty decent dish, certainly a generous portion with plenty of oozy brie falling out of the bread and the cranberry gave it a good punch of flavour. Across the table, the Coronation Chicken sandwich was also well received, again being a generous portion and very tasty. An accompanying latte was decent enough as well, and overall I thought this was a pretty good pit stop for a spot of lunch.

Wow, what a lovely gem in the picturesque seaside resort of Teignmouth, this venue is well decorated, provides an excellent range of seating and was very clean. It is clear that the owners of this establishment really care about their customers & the product they serve. I really enjoyed the quality of the coffee and the cakes provided by this venue. As a massive coffee fan I am very picky, but this was really at the expected standard. However, the price was incredibly reasonable, especially for the cakes. The cakes were at least a £1 cheaper than the average price you can pay. Definitely worth a visit for coffee lovers in the area.

We visited the cafe for lunch. The choice on the menu was very varied, and we eventually decided on omelettes with my daughter choosing a panini. The omelettes were freshly cooked and were lovely and fluffy. We had all chosen different fillings and we were all very pleased with our choices. My daughter said her panini was very good. It would be nice maybe if there could be a choice of crisps or tortilla chips with the sandwiches etc as tortilla chips are not to every ones taste, but this was a minor thing. All the adults had americano coffees to drink and thoroughly enjoyed them. Mine was a decaffeinated variety and the coffee, was for me ,just the right strength, often decaffeinated coffee can be a bit bland and watery but this was great. The staff were all very friendly and pleasant. All in all a place I would not hesitate to recommend to others and I will definitely be returning to try other things from the menu.

I'm sorry to say but one of the worst cups of coffee I've had in a long time. I just popped in for a quick flat white. Firstly obviously haven't got a clue what a flat white actually is or that it should only be served in a 6-7oz cup. Instead I was served a latte, and to make matters worse the milk had been scalded and had that horrible burnt milk after taste. Would usually take it back to the barista but really couldn't be bothered as it was so bad it was beyond redemption.

My partner and I came across this coffee shop as a shelter from a very brisk day in Teignmouth. We walked into the store, to immediately be ignored by both staff members on the site. We sat down for a few minutes deciding on what to have, then ordered at the counter with a lady who was polite enough, but apparently lacked any conversational skills whatsoever. I sat and waited almost quarter of an hour for one latte and one hot chocolate, whilst two people sat at the same table closer to the counter had their coffees bought out seperately. When our drinks eventually arrived, the staff member still had difficulty opening her mouth and actually talking to us, clearly uncomfortable with her coffee shop being used by patrons who she didn't know personally. The "latte" was a total disappointment - with no texture to the milk, and no flavour in the coffee, it felt like a cup of microwaved milk poured through used grounds. I had to add sugar to it until it seemed more like syrup, which was vile but more palatable than the original drink. The hot chocolate had formed a skin on the top, and chocolate dust was spilt over the chunky and awkward glass it was in. The drink was far too rich and had no real flavour to it, beyond just being overpowering. As we sat and tried to stomach the drinks, some regulars came and went who were all greeted by name and conversed with - whilst we were stuck listening to the playlist which was a poor attempt to build some atmosphere, which the venue was totally devoid of. When we stood up and walked out, the staff yet again failed to acknowledge us as they had with the regulars, building on the impression that this is not a place to come unless you're a personal friend of the staff. The place seemed to have so much potential, and it was was to see it so well wasted

After a wintery walk along Teignmouth sea front a coffee and snack was wanted and as we've visited The Old Java Coffee House a few times and always very happy with quality and service, we made a bee line for what we think is Teignmouth's premier coffee house. The young lady who served us explained there would be a 15 minute wait for food as it was lunch time and the cafe was very busy. Our coffee arrived but the food was 30 minutes rather than 15, the waitress apologised and offered us a cake of our choosing ON THE HOUSE, she was extremley attentive and very competent a credit to her employers, when the food arrived along with the complimentary cake the quality was up to the normal high standard we are use to at The Old Java. So I can not reccommend the Old Java any higher, a visit to Teignmouth would not be the same without lunching here...

The place is really nice actually, I was quite surprised. It was a nice cheese and bacon panini I had, the salad was okay but I'm not a flipping rabbit so I only ate a little bit of it. I'm also not Mexican so I didn't eat many of the tortilla chips either. The best thing was that I caught an ELECTABUZZ in the cafe, I mean that's pretty COOL! My first Electabuuz, WOO! But yeah, go there if you like nice places and electric type Pokemon.

Service is fabulous food is really good and they do alot of gluten wheat and dairy free options the only problem I can see is the restaurant itself is quiet small so very cramped when busy

We regularly use Java for coffee and cakes. They also host music events on occasions which are usually of a high standard. I have never had a meal in the place and I think the menu is fairly limited but they specialise in coffee which is all good.

Enjoyed some loose leaf tea and a latte here during our visit to teignmouth, the staff didn't mind us eating our own food which was lovely as my sister is a vegan. They offer free wifi and the seats are very comfy so it's perfect for the younger and older generation. We didn't really look at the menu properly but many around us were enjoying the food they had ordered.I really like the decor and the way they serve the tea as it comes in a unique little glass teapot on a wooden board. Whilst in Teignmouth we called in to the old Java coffee house for a rest and a drink. The cafe was quite busy but we managed to get a table and and a place to park a wheelchair. The cafe was very nice inside and the range of both coffee and teas very good. We all had a piece of cake with our drinks. They also had gluten free options. The bakewell tart and Victoria sponge were very tasty. The gluten free option a orange and lemon cake was very sweet but also very tasty. We also purchased some coffee beans to take home while we were there. Well worth a visit for the range of coffee alone. 10 out of 10

We called into this cafe for their special offer of tea and toasted teacake. The order was taken and arrived in a reasonable time even though they were busy. They were great with lots of butter. They have a superb selection of coffees and a great selection of lovely cakes. Added bonus of free wifi which is always useful. Staff were attentive and quick.

Came down to Teignmouth on the train from Barnstaple in North Devon to take part in a fencing demo with my friends from Newtown Abbot and Totnes Fencing Club, on the Den the green on the sea front. Arrived a little early so went looking for a proper coffee cafe, not many in Teignmouth so very pleased to find this independent who specialise in coffee and teas. Nice cool ventilated cafe, friendly very polite staff, populat with the locals and free WiFi. Had a Black Americano to wake myself up, pleasant atmosphere. Then came time to get ready for the demo, they were amused at me intending to do the fencing, and were happy for me to use their bathroom to change in. So when I walked through the cafe in my whites caused some stares from other customers. Will return in the future saved in my favourites.

As I write, I am in a seat by the window watching the world go by with the beautiful aroma of fresh ground coffee in the background. The cafe is clean and tidy, pleasantly decorated with smart staff happy and willing to serve you. Luke helped us out with a coffee question and the rest of the staff made our quick coffee experience relaxing and chilled. The food was amazing too, check IRU the photo of the Bacon, Brie & Cranberry melt - Heaven! If you want cheap and cheerful bog- standard coffee, go to Costa round the corner. If you fancy a lovely coffee in a unique place then the Old Java Coffee House is for you. It's just off the sea front too so not far to walk. Our bill was less than £17 for two huge panini 's and two large coffees that were simply divine, well recommended! And the cakes looked divine but we had no room for any of it sadly....

What a great tradditional Inn. 800yrs of history and character. Superb location, albeit down a few country lanes. All bedrooms with ensuite. Spacious and comfy. Fully loaded pub with snooker room, and darts room, bar and lounge and quiet reading snug type lounge. Large dinning room with breakfast bar. Large beer garden. Fully operational commercial kitchen. Stock your own bar and music player that feeds music to all areas. We had 20 family members in our group and all enjoyed the facilities. Would recommend to others who want a family holiday. We all did our own sightseeing in the daytime and came home to the pub to eat as a family and enjoy pub type nightime, with games, music, chat and a drink. Awesome!! Lastly, great and friendly host, always on hand if needed, but allowed you to enjoy the facilities. Superb !!

We were welcomed by the head bar man, what a gentleman & a legend taking the time to talk to us. We had visited Buckfast Abbey & drove through this quaint little village, parked cheaply in the pay & display & popped into this small village pub. Great little traditional pub, pool table on the right hand side, very clean & throughout. Good selection of beer & ales. We sat in their well tendered gardens. Definitely recommend for a stop off.

A lovely much needed addition to this town! Always greeted with a smile and a chat. Friendly place to grab a bite to eat and drink. You never know what is going to be on the menu, always something a little bit different but usually a safe option for others wanting something more usual. However I would say a set menu is something this place could benefit from. Especially being a mum and wanting to take my child somewhere, it’s not always convenient to just see what’s on the board today, as it’s not always child friendly! But other than that it’s a nice little place that I hope sticks around for a while

I love the cheese straws that seem to be unique to Luders, order early as they sell out very quickly. Best jam doughnuts I've come across, and when in season the strawberry flans are not to be missed.

This is a little gem in Teignmouth! Very understated from outside, but once inside the staff are in full customer care mode. We were greeted by friendly bar staff who explained our table wasn’t ready, however we could have a drink at the bar. All good for us as we enjoy a relaxed dining style. No stress. We were shown to our table and the menu explained. We knew it’s was tapas but the waiter explained the rough number of dishes to order as a couple. We ate everything from the standard tapas dish, Patatas Bravas, to a gorgeous Chicken dish with Thyme & Lemon, Chorizo in red wine, Lobster Arancini and Goats Cheese. Every dish was really lovely and felt like a unique experience in the area. We didn’t experience the cocktails, but finished dinner with a liquor coffee. The bill was a pleasant surprise too as we were estimating a lot more! Would recommend and will definitely be returning when back visiting family in Teignmouth later in the year. Thank you all!
