Lovely staff. Group playing live were excellent!

A local pub was here for a wake accommodating what you expect from a local old pub tge buffet was nice and hot and the team was accommodating.

Went to watch our friend Simon singing for the landlords (Simon) birthday, great atmosphere, great people, what more can you ask for….we will be back 👍🏻

What can I say! I've stopped here on 3 occasions when visiting Sheffield from Cardiff, and what a lovely, friendly, welcoming place it is. The staff and the locals are absolutely brilliant. I'm looking forward to my next visit

Great pub, with friendly and helpful staff, and a wide variety of ales and spirits. Worth a visit if your in that area. Has car parking at the rear which is reasonably sized.

Booked this venue for a wake for my mum. The buffet food was amazing and presented beautifully. It was all home cooked/prepared on site and tasted lovely. Nothing was too much trouble for Stacey and her staff. Stacey was very professional and accommodating. I would have no hesitation in recommending this venue.

I have just returned from a wake which was held here today. We couldn't have asked for anything better. From the day I phoned Stacey to ask for details, to the end of the wake today we were really well looked after. The venue is cosy, the food was really nice, and the option to have the help yourself tea and coffee was a great idea. We also had a slide show and video of our deceased family member which was shown from the laptop on all of the screens in the pub. We were even given credit in the juke box to choose some music for afrerwards. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this place for an event.

I can't speak highly enough of this pub. We booked for 20 people for food after a lunchtime funeral at Grenoside Crematorium. The quality, variety and quantity of the food was absolutely first rate. Special touches such as fresh fruit, cream scones and a cheese board were added to the main selection of sandwiches, sausage rolls, pork pie complete with chutneys, goujons etc, and everyone commented how good the food was. The added bonus for a morning or lunchtime funeral is that the pub isn't open to the public in the week until 2 pm, so you have exclusive use of the whole interior until then. Lovely, obliging staff as well, so top marks to everyone at the Old Harrow.

Kids had a really good time today at the Halloween party.31/10/21. Looked out for my autistic son and his over ambition. And looked out for my other son being frightened of snakes. Really pleased with the hospitality and welcomed we felt. Finished an hour early but don't think they remembered to put clocks back.lol.

Been to the quiz tonight for the first time, very friendly staff, enjoyed the quiz. Started at a good time, snacks provided, quiz a mix of facts and trivia, something for everyone. Very enjoyable. Thanks.

Been for a drink and chat with friends. Football on tv in every corner. This is a.local.pub for local people not just football fans..not a problem having football.on tv in some.parts of the pub but everywhere! Please think of all your customers

Went in to watch the football plenty of T Vs around then without telling anyone he turns everyone off during the match to play a game. Beer to expensive. anyway 3.35 a pint for average bitter , and the women serving behind the bar couldn't be bothered to say thank you, better pub 100 yards down the road.

Mucha gente para ver a los corredores y una noche muy soleada hicieron que trabajar duro para los corredores. Ambos pubs, el Angel y The Old Harrow, estaban llenos, con el viejo Harrow siendo el peor lugar de los dos pubs, absolutamente basura. Tardaron tanto tiempo en servirse luego de tanto tiempo para pagar, ya que había pequeñas pantallas táctiles que no funcionaban. funcionan correctamente y uno empacó para que los 3 miembros del personal tuvieran que esperar para usarlo. Este pub fue una vez un buen pub. Precio decente decente pero no más. No me apresuro a volver a este lugar, muy pobre y para demostrar lo mal que estaba el servicio. Noté que no se sirvió hielo con bebidas que no podrías servirte. como estaba detrás del bar, también era una noche calurosa.

Fairly quiet compared to the other pubs on the road. Bit dark and dismal. Beer is dearer than at The Angel and not as good depending what you drink. Rarely go in unless it's a do. Can't comment on the food or the entertainment as I've never been in for it. Has a smoking shelter, no real beer garden really apart from some benches on the front next to the road, has a car park but that's about it.

It's been a while since I last visited this local and the standard of service is still very poor. Having checked a receipt from the pub when I arrived home. It showed three drinks purchased on one round. As there were only two of us, one can only assume the lady serving either needs further training in maths and customer service. Or is scamming. I would suggest all those foolish to venture in there to enjoy the miserable service, high prices and lack of ambience. Check their receipts!!! One final point, is it normal for somebody taking a payment, to walk away from you with a debit card to make payment. Surely it should done in full view??!!

Ha pasado un tiempo desde la última vez que visité este local y el nivel de servicio sigue siendo muy pobre. Habiendo revisado un recibo del pub cuando llegué a casa. Mostraba tres bebidas compradas en una ronda. Como solo éramos dos, uno solo puede asumir que la dama que sirve necesita capacitación adicional en matemáticas y servicio al cliente. O está engañando. Sugeriría a todos esos tontos que se aventuraran allí para disfrutar del miserable servicio, los altos precios y la falta de ambiente. ¡Comprueba sus recibos! ! ! Un último punto, es normal que alguien tome un pago, se aleje de usted con una tarjeta de débito para hacer el pago. Seguramente debería hacerse a la vista? ? ! !

Nuestro almuerzo en el Old Harrow esta semana fue una excelente relación calidad-hígado y cebolla con Mash y el especial del día - Estofado (hecho con cerveza azul belga) y deliciosas albóndigas ligeras plumas. Ambos eran del menú 4 por plato y muy agradable. Estaremos de vuelta.

Food was OK at best, group of 8 quick service and cheap. Pizza was good rest of food very average.

Small and cosy but for an engagement do way too small not a great selection of drinks and they ran out of ice very early in the evening.

Visité este encantador pub campo con un amigo mientras buscábamos un lugar donde comer durante las vacaciones el almuerzo de un evento de un día en el pueblo de Hall. Hay tres bares en el pueblo, y mientras los otros dos tanto un aspecto encantador, desde el exterior este parecía el mejor, así que la decisión unánime de probarlo sobre los otros dos. La decoración interior es muy viejo, y es en realidad un pub que consigue sacarlas de allí conservando todas las comodidades modernas que uno espera como bebidas frías y gratis (aunque admito lento) wifi. La selección ale es razonable, para un Pub Village, aunque he visto bares del pueblo con más grifos en incluso si las dos cervezas que este lugar servía (tanto locales; desde la misma fábrica) eran completamente diferentes a los otros agricultores (tastewise rubia y belga Azul - Si usted debe saber). El menú de la comida no era especialmente variado, aunque decidí ir con el asador, ya que, como la mayoría del resto de la carta, era excepcionalmente barato! En realidad; mientras que preocupantemente quizás no era tan bueno como otros culto como he tenido, fue sin duda una buena relación calidad-precio por el precio! La carne era perfectamente comestible, aunque no es el mejor de los cortes ni condimentos. La salsa era un poco sosa, pero las Yorkshire los budines eran grandes y sabrosos, y las patatas también estaban muy bien. Ya hay tres bares en el pueblo, me gustaría dar los otros dos la próxima vez, aunque si resultó que no eran tan buenas, yo no tendría problema con volver aquí.

Just poped in today first day of New carvary very nice and the Old pubs been newly decorated this last week like a new place but as kept its old charm really Is a good pub.

I visited the Old Harrow with my friend for lunch yesterday. This was a last minute decision as we were passing neither been before. When we sat down and looked at the menu we were shocked, two meals for £6 ....... Really!! We almost walked out thinking that they wouldn't be up to much but decided to give it a chance. All I can say is wow, the quality and amount of food given was amazing. We both had the steak pie which is prepared homemade from an offsite bakery in Hillsborough and it was delicious, chips and peas. We had two meals and three pints of Diet Coke between us and the bill came to £11!! Defiantly a hidden little gem and we will defiantly be returning to try other items from the menu!! The staff were very friendly and welcoming, pub has a very village homely feel.

WOW...!! Where shall I start, lumpy grey sort of mash potatoes, rock hard cauliflower, can't comment on the brocolli as I didn't try it, plastic "roast" beef, freezing cold carrots, peas were OK, frozen Yorkshire puds, which surprisingly were much better than the rest of the food on the plate, shortage of gravy...!! I must say the roast tattles were OK..!!! Should have known better than to order food as the only customers were obviously regulars and on entering the establishment there was no smell of home cooked food..!! My advice is to stay away, there's a reason this place was empty...!! Defiantly wont eat there again, absolutely no way..!!!

It's not easy finding lunch after 2 0'clock in rural South Yorkshire, but the Old Harrow was open, so in we went. The music was too loud and it's a slightly scruffy local pub, but the welcome was friendly and the tables were clean. 2 of us ordered duck in orange sauce, which was fantastic, even though it didn't really go with the accompanying ubiquitous frozen chips and salad; and one had mushroom omelette with chips, which he said was beautifully made - and enormous! With a drink each the bill was under £25 for 3, which was amazing value. We'll happily eat here again!

As the title says visited with a member of the family who recommended the place due to the 2 for 5 offer. Obviously not expecting too much which this kind of deal- but really pleasantly surprised that the food was tasty. You get what you pay for and it's not the best meal I have ever eaten but fair plays to the staff because they are onto a good thing.

Called today Friday 3/07/15 for a breakfast having been a lot before. Best value for money from all the pubs around doing breakfast. Full monty and half monty came with usual Eggs bacon beans toms mushrooms sausage hash browns and toast. & coffee all piping hot for less than a tenner. We will be back for another soon.

I would just like to thank all the staff at The Old Harrow for their professionalism in the way they handled our funeral gathering. They were recommended to us as and proved to be be very accommodating and flexible. The staff were all very curtious and attentive and the food was excellent. Thanks for all effort in making everyone feel welcome at a difficult time.

My mother and I went for a meal, not the cheap 2 for £5. I had a lasagna and my mother had surf and turf. The lasagna was very low quality and my mother was unwell for a few days after having the surf and turf. I did comment on their Facebook page about our experience and they removed it and blocked me. Not very professional.

I would just like to say a big thank you to the wonderful team at the old Harrow who made a very special birthday very special. I booked a party there and can not fault them In any way and neither could any of the guest the buffet was amazing and so reasonably priced. They couldn't have been more helpful with everything Inc helping me set the room up and assisting me with any questions or query's I had leading up to the special evening. If anyone out there is looking for somewhere to celebrate a special event please check this place out. Regards Emma.

We were going to have lunch here after seeing it on trip advisor as a 5 star food rating - but let down by the fact they only served a roast on a sunday (only wanted a roast pork sandwich) The toilets were filthy and I felt really uncomfortable there - so ended up just having a quick drink!! Not worth your time... trust me!

Won't lie I wasn't expecting much for the 2 for 5 lunch menu but how wrong was I, the food is great, the service very friendly and absolutely amazing value for money!

I wondered what we would get for '2 for £12' but a colleague had enjoyed great meals here for many years so 4 workmates went to see for ourselves. Starter was a of choice of pate or soup. My colleague who knew the size of the main course to come did not have a starter. Three had pate which had a lovely flavour. It was served with some cold 'melba' toast and salad leaves, beetroot and croutons. Could have benefited from a little salad dressing. This was followed by a generous serving of succulent turkey served on a plate with crisp Yorkshire pud, pig in blanket, stuffing, cranberry sauce and tasty gravy. If you don't like gravy best to say so in advance. If you do like gravy there is a separate gravy boat. Great choice of veg. The best was mash, roast spuds and parsnips. My friends said the spouts were excellent. Not sure we needed the carrots, green beans and peas also (in that order). My colleague said the Christmas pudding was very good (served with custard) and she could taste some alcohol in it. The other option was a generous portion of vanilla ice cream with choc flake and some minty bits - we could not finish it. This was a very friendly pub with a traditional feel and regular customers. My only gripe was the corridor to the ladies toilets which is desperately in need of decoration.

Six of us visited the Old Harrow today for our Christmas lunch. We meet up and visit this pub every month for a get together where we put the world to right. We normally have the 2 meals for £6.00 which is excellent value, but today we had the Christmas lunch which was first class and good value for the price of £6.00 each. This included a starter of tomato soup followed by turkey with all the trimmings finishing off with ice cream or Christmas pudding. The staff were very pleasant and made us welcome, and made sure all our meals were up to their high standard. This is a small village pub but with a very welcoming staff and a Christmassy feeling. Well worth a visit to a Yorkshire village pub, we will certainly be back for our regular monthly get together in January.

We tried this place for the first time a few weeks ago. We went for a breakfast with our youngest. The food was excellent and service was fantastic. Staff couldnt do enough for my toddler. As wed had such a good service we decided to go for the 2 for £5 meals. Best steak iv had in a long time cooked beautifully and a nice size meal for the price. We will be going again.

We visited the Old Harrow for the first time today and I have to say we were very pleasantly surprised by both the quality of food and the fantastic, friendly welcome we received. It is a traditional pub with a lovely atmosphere and very friendly staff. We both ordered from the 2 for £5.00 menu so didn't expect much but the food was lovely. I had the home made Lasagne with garlic bread and it was excellent, very tasty and made with good quality ingredients. The hubby had cajun chicken and again was very pleased with his meal. We finished off with a dessert (at £1.50 each these are amazing value) and a coffee. All in all we had a 2 course meal and 2 drinks each for £17.05 !!!! an absolute bargain and will definitely be going back !!

Visited here for my sister's wedding. Brilliant service, excellent value for food and staff were great. Well worth another visit.

Went to the old Harrow for the first time in many months last week and I must say what an improvement!! Not only did the food exceed our expectations but the management were also very friendly welcoming and cheerful. They went out of their way to ensure that we were happy with our meals, going above and beyond what we had previously experienced there. This new management has given the Old Harrow an uplift. Keep up the good work!!

Visited today and chose from the 2 meals for £5 menu. Small selection but something for everyone and were very pleased with what we had (steak pie and Yorkshire pudding with chicken). We've been elsewhere and been disappointed with the 'bargain' menus but this was good - doesn't pretend to do anything else but serve good tasty 'basic' food at a good price. Nice place too - a small pub with low celings and limited space but didn't feel cramped in any way - the plates did pretty much fill the table though ! Just over £11.00 for 2 meals, a side of bread and butter, a pint and a soft drink. Staff friendly as well. No complaints at all.

We are local to the Old Harrow so have visited here on numerous occasions but not in the last few months. It was my birthday so we left the car behind and decided to have a few drinks and a meal. I must say the place has totally gone downhill since the last time we visited earlier this year. Not sure if there has been a change of management as a couple of faces were unfamiliar but some of the staff are the same. The food was awful and we did not go for the cheap option as it was a special occasion. My wife had Lasagna which came in a soup bowl type of plate with just a small jacket potato. Where was the garlic bread and salad we had the last time? Not only that the Lasagna was just a soggy mass and looked far from appetizing, she said it tasted of nothingness. It would not have filled a small child. I had the fish and chips and was totally disappointed as the fish was a very small portion and more batter than fish. The sweets were ok considering they were at a give away price of £1.50. The drinks are overpriced at £13 for a bottle of house wine or £4 for a 187ml bottle. How to celebrate your birthday, NOT. We shall not be going back to the Old Harrow unless there is a change of management or a more professional policy on food like they used to have in the past. The Red Lion is a two minute walk away up the road and we shall not hesitate to go here in the future instead.

Although we have visited this pub on many occasions for a drink this was the first time we had eaten there and I have to say we were very impressed. Really wide choice of food available from both the standard menu and the specials board. Everything we had was of a very good standard. Well presented and very tasty. The curry sauce on my chicken skewers was as good as any I have tasted in indian restaurants and the service was great. We had 3 courses each and including 2 glasses of wine, 2 pints of beer and a coffee we still paid under £40. Small village location on the outskirts of Sheffield (Grenoside) is this little gem of a pub The Old Harrow.We have now been on a few visits and the food is consistently good. Where else can you get a lunch of Scampi,chips and peas served hot at your table by very pleasant staff for £2.50 each. The atmosphere at the pub is that of a proper English Village pub where you feel important as a customer.Give it a try you will not be disapointed the tetley cold is excellent (in moderation of course).

This place is a good local village type pub. Opens early for breakfasts and has quite a good lunch and evening menu. They have quiz nights and a good mix of clientele. Most of the bar staff are friendly, the welsh lad and youngish girl are both top off the range when it comes to service. One thing that does let this place down (and seems many others share my view) is the more elderly lady working behind the bar beginning with letter S needs to be moved out. Attitude / service and complete lack of understanding of her role let's the place down which is a shame

Went to old harrow with family i ordered lasagne staff forgot garlic bread to go with it. Lasagne was Luke warm, one person on our table had their food come out after. Everyone was done. Also one of our family members had vomiting and diarrhea! My parents go here quite a lot n say good things but i would not go back.

The food here is consistently brilliant. I have only ever eaten from the 2 for £5 menu, but the quality of the cooking and food is excellent. We have had many a good lunch here.Just one word of caution though, the drinks are more expensive per head than the food.

Quite a small put with about 3 tables outside by the roadside.The best thing is the offer of 2 meals for £5 between 10-3pm in the week and 2 meals for £7 between 3-7pm.Portions are huge but a you will be full enough, there is about 6 different meals to choose from in this particular offer, the also do a range of puddings for £1.50. The service was speedy as a or meals were brought to us in no time.All in all unbeatable value really and quality is good.
