Nothing much to say other than it a very good local boozer. Friendly staff, good landlord, nice pub and plenty of seating outside when then weather is nice.

Cosy place. Sat near the car park window and it was very hot there but we were offered a chance to move which was good. I had the burger and it was a bit dry but everyone has different tastes just not for me. Other people in my party enjoyed their meal.

Paid £6 for a chip buttie that came out on white bread .

Over fron Liverpool visiting my daughter, brought her mum and I for an evening meal. We all had something different, I completely demolished mine, but the portions were too large for the other two. Even though both had the small versions of their meals. Staff excellent (thank you). Service equally good. The beer was great. Will be going again.

Lovely meal, large portions. Probably wouldn't have had a starter if I knew how large the large steak pie was! Great service, good value.

It was the first time and was celebrating husband birthday.i had been told how good the crown and cushion was but are experience was different the pub was busy which was good we ordered rack of lamb which was £18.00 and when it comes it was three lamb chops one with dofinwars potato and a had full of hard veg. I had liver I asked for a small one has I eat like a bird but I wish I'd had a big one . Also I know staff was busy but no.one asked if everything was ok and a smile would be nice.sorry for this review but we was celebrating. Pulse side puddings was lovely and filing.

Food is always good here and service is quick. Love the fact that they also have an over 60s menu.

My mushrooms were so tasty but my fish n chips was far too greasy and lacking flavour. The service was great and its a nice cosy place.

Lovely pub, friendly service, beautiful homemade, good quality food which is hard to get these days! Me and my mum had lunch today, both had the steak pie, the portions are generous, the pie is packed with good quality steak, fresh vegetables, homemade chips or mash to go with it. My mum opted for the large portion, we didn't realise how big the pie was, she took half home in a box provided by the lovely lady that served us. Would highly recommend and we will definitely come again.

I’m a frequent visitor of the C&C and very often on a Sunday. This past Sunday I visited with the ladies of my family and felt I must review. The staff, service, surroundings and the food were all fabulous. There were 5 of us and 3 ordered the meat free Sunday lunch. The chef came out and asked if we’d like an extra Yorkshire pudding, nice touch. Our meals were lovely and hot and we were truly looked after all afternoon. All the ladies serving us were friendly and accommodating but today I’m giving a personal shout out to Amy. I’d ordered a glass of wine that unfortunately I didn’t like, Amy spotted this from afar and was straight back to our table to enquire. She brought me 2 tasters and I chose from there. What a fabulous service. Amy is always on the ball and a credit to the Crown & cushion. We couldn’t have asked for more on Sunday afternoon . Thank you to Amy, the chef and the rest of the team. It was a pleasure.

Always enjoy beautiful meals here but the Italian 3 course special tonight was brilliant for such a reasonable price. Every course was delicious and the portions were substantial.Service was efficient and friendly as usual. We only moved recently to the area and this place is a real find.Looking forward to more Monday night Italians .

Good value for money very tasty lunch with home made chips. Pleasant staff and helpful

Came one Monday evening for a birthday meal. On arrival we were greeted with a standard menu, an OAP's menu, a specials board, and an Italian menu (which they have on every Monday apparently). We all ordered from the standard menu or the specials board, despite two of the party being eligible for the OAPs menu. We had a mixture of pie and chips, sausage and mash, and scampi from the standard menu, plus a chicken fajita from the specials board. Everything was fresh and homemade, the chips looked particularly good but unfortunately I didn't get to try one! Personally, i had the chicken fajitas, which was probably a bad pick on my part, the chicken was dry but the flavour was good! In hindsight, i should have gone for a 'safer' option such as the sausage or pie! I also had the chocolate orange cheesecake for dessert, which had a very strong orange taste but was nice. All in all, a decent pub for some good homemade pub grub!!

Fantastic, haven't been here for years. Driving past and saw the homemade food sign, why not. Service was excellent start to finish. Both of us had the special which was Tandoori chicken kebab, was amazing. Had a lovely time and a lovely meal 👍

Really nice food, decent atmosphere. Always a good time! Only minor gripe is the soft drinks, cheap pop- might as well be labeled fizzy brown water. Can order proper coke but at £3 for a tiny bottle it's cheaper to get hammered.

Do not have the fish & chips here the fish was mostly batter the chips were hard with black bits in them and the mushy peas were horrible and a funny colour

10 of us went for lunch on a Tuesday. Had main course from over 60s menu, less than £9. Had roast pork. Good value and efficient friendly service.

The food served was excellent and really big portions, however for what is at the end of day "pub grub" I found it to be very expensive. Maybe reduce the portion sizes and therefore the prices.

Very pleased with the service, and a very polite hepfull bar lady. The food has improved since last time I visited (several years ago) I would recommend a visit to sample the menu 👍

Just arrived home from crown and cushion the meal we had was absolutely gorgeous was even better than the last time we went. Everything was freshly made and piping hot staff are very friendly would highly recommend this pub for a meal to all my friends.

Fantastic pub on Burncross Rd. The food is great , pies are A1 , I had fish and it was beautiful. Booking is required.

Having eaten here several times over the past few years, I'm sorry to say our recent visit was very disappointing.

We've eaten here on many occasions over a number of years. It is usually busy especially at weekends so best to book a table. The pub is cosy, The Staff are usually friendly atmosphere is relaxed. There is usually a specials board in addition to the menu. For me sometimes the food can be over fussy. Prices are reasonable. Parking is available just outside the pub. Toilets are clean. Definately worth a visit.

Amy really helped us and went the extra mile to make sure all seating at the table was satisfied. The bar and indoor are well presented and all staff are friendly and supportive. Good options are great 1 menu for outdoors and a main for in doors. Good for in the sun, and car park or road parking if full.

Lovely ambience and bar staff are really friendly . We arrived late in the evening and so the pub was overly busy but still really enjoyed a happily served couple of drinks . Great car park .

Excellent sunday lunch. All food was fresh well presented and tasty. Helpings are large and reflected in the 3 course set menu at 17.99. However due to portion size you may Only require mains Plenty of veg supplied so no need to go hungry if you just decide to stick to one course Its popular so booking is advisable. Staff are friendly and welcoming.

This pub serves great food and the staff are fantastic, always ready to help and polite , never had a bad meal here .

Shocking service. One hour to get our meal. Complimentary round of drinks. Ordered fish and chips. Not good. Microwave meal at best for £16 quid. Very dissatisfied. Won't be visiting any time soon.

Top quality buffet with perfect service. Everything that was put out was of the highest standard, no messy slushy bits but just honest top quality ingredients, really nice grub.

High prices for the food you get, had the pie which was famous although not quite sure what was famous about it sadly. Came out quickly.

Loved this place, but last night my salmon noodles dish was awful. The sauce was salty and very hot. Far too much sauce, new chef apparently. They still charged me half price even though it was inedible..

Good choice of ales and lagers. 6 of us ate there last night and the food was Absolutely Awesome.... Staff amazing.. 10/10 👍🏻

We popped in on Saturday for some dinner and decided we didn't want what you would class as a sit down meal we all ended up going for the brisket sandwich which came with chips or fries, the sandwich was really nice and really filling so for £10 really good value

This place has the vest garlic mushrooms ive ever tasted. Also the brisket sandwhich is absolutely amazing.

Absolutely amazing food and drinks, atmosphere is amazing same goes for staff. My only complaint is that some of the portion sizes are too large, however the quality more than makes up for it.
