Always a lovely place to go for food, both indoors and out. Great for both locals and people just passing through. Food is proper Yorkshire grub and not too expensive.

Been tonight as just moved into high green Me and my son had the best steaks ever added coleslaw and onion rings and they were so big The portion are so big we couldn’t eat it all which looked bad but had to reassure the staff there was nothing wrong with the food We were the only people in eating had a couple of drinking but as new to area I don’t know how busy it can get We will be back soon

Booked a table for six and had the Sunday Carvery which was absolutely fab. Food was delicious and cooked just right. Pub not too busy, the atmosphere was relaxed and we enjoyed a lovely afternoon with friends and family. Very satisfied party of six!

After having a really lovely meal last time we attended the friendship lunch, we booked in again but this time we were very disappointed with the meal 😞 Entertainment was good 😊

We were over for a family get together and we were made very welcome, and the food was ace. Highly recommend the Gammon and the home cooked chips were perfect 👌

It was ok. No Vodka when we visited. Disappointing. Good prices and sure the nice garden and play area are well used in the better weather.

We only went in for one drink after a long walk, so hard to judge anything else.

Had a family meal here for my 60th birthday, could not fault a single thing. I would highly recommend The Barrel for any function.

Me and my partner chose here for lunch with it being en route to family. Pub had a lovely atmosphere. Shabby carpets but nice otherwise. I had a yorkshire pudding wrap. Beautiful apart from 1 piece of meat and 2 slices of carrot. No idea where the rest of it was. Overpriced chip butty. My partner paid for bacon and cheese on his burger. The burger was so dry. Awful. Slightest bit of cheese and salty bacon. Wouldn't visit again unless chef had more training

We celebrated my sister’s birthday here and had a great time, the staff were so helpful and would definitely recommend to anyone!

We booked for our family to celebrate my daughter’s birthday. There were 30 of us including family and friends. The buffet was delicious, The big chunky chips were amazing. We even had a lactose and gluten free diet for 2 people and they said the food was lovely too. The staff were really accommodating and let us put pictures and banners up. Everyone was very friendly and relaxed. Even though the pub was busy with Christmas nights out we always felt looked after. They let us play our own play list too. This is well worth the money and I definitely would book again. Thank you.

Great pub! The food was really good and when I forgot to mention something about my order they resolved it for me straight away. Staff couldn't be more helpful and friendly. Lots of entertainment for children, nice atmosphere and looks like it's been recently renovated so everything was clean and smart. Would definitely recommend and go back to!

Best Sunday lunch we've had in a long time.All fresh veg and plenty of it.Big Yorkshire pudding,thick sliced pork,Gravy was very nice.

They have a new menu now and it’s really good, plenty to choose from and the food was really good.

Post match pint with the grandkids. Nice little play area with inflatable castle. Guess that was just for the bank holiday.

Outside area has had a makeover, looks good, nice to take young children to.

What a lovely afternoon sat in the beer garden in the sunshine. Kids enjoyed playing on the bouncy castle and the outdoor play area. We ordered food, there was four adults and four children. We all had a main course and five had sweets and three had a cup of tea. Total cost was just under £100.00. The food was lovely, tasty and good portion size. Excellent service, fast, efficient and friendly. Car parking is plentiful and just outside main entrance. Toilets are clean and accessible. We will visit again.

We have been to the barrel at 3.00 for dinner & was very upset that a table full near us was swearing effing & sheffing all the time when they had kids with them not our type of dinner time eating will not be returning the staff never told them about the bad language at all.

Yer, didn't have any food so can't say, it looked alright, yer it's a pub, they sell Pubby things 😉

Friendly staff,although the girl was rushed at times! Spotless toilets(big plus for me) food looked good but we didn't eat.

Went here to meet some friends for a couple of drinks and food through a recommendation. It didn't dissapoint. Lovely home made food,big portions and tasty. Nice lager and the lady behind the bar was very friendly. Thank you x

Popped up to visit some family who suggested we go here for some lunch. We had a mixture of meals between the four of us, with my wife sharing hers with our little one. I had the pepperoni pizza and asked for it to have bbq sauce as a base. When the pizza came out, you could tell it was fresh made and it tasted so good. Staff were quick to serve n very helpful and accommodating when it came to the little boy too. The Barrel is a dog and family friendly place and as someone that’s not local, I’d happily visit again when I’m next in the area

We went for lunch, not knowing the area but all really hungry. The food was absolutely lovely, in particular the pizza with the dough made on site - huge portions of everything and all hot and fresh. Welcoming, family friendly, and great value for money. So much so we went back later the same day for a drink too!

Waited an hour for food. Arrived chips overcooked steak was cold as were the tomatoes and mushroom ....all in all not nice.......shame as last time it was lovely

Been here a few times now, love the food. They even accommodated for a meal they didn't have on the menu. Drinks average price. Outdoors brilliant for groups and families with a play area and bouncy castle up most of the year.

We recently came to here for a summer get-together with our clients and caregivers, and could not be more grateful! The team at the Barrel were so accommodating, providing some delicious food and excellent service. Thanks so much!

Fantastic service and food . It was my wife's birthday and 12 of us went, everyone enjoyed the meals they had. Everything was great.

Ordered a Mixed Grill, nicely cooked, a really good plate full,good service, will use again.

Would have been A 5 Star. I chose badly . Went for a burger. Chose the battered , Black and Blue burger, with blue cheese. Sadly when it arrived it was actually battered and deep fried. Not good , very unrefined. Heart attack on a plate. Just a stodge. Shouldn't be on the menu in my opinion. Just a bridge too far, a bit tough. Have eaten here several times , normally good, all fresh produce, cooked well. Shame about this dish, just doesn't work🤔

Went for a Sunday lunch with my hubby arrived at 12 30 had a drink then ordered our lunch with desert at 1 15 having had more drinks our lunch finally arrived hour and half later I had beef & turkey hubby had beef both was freezing cold with rock hard un cooked green beans the only thing which was red hot was the cauliflower cheese which I ordered separately explained this to the young lady server which she could only appilogise we had another few drinks waiting on our desert which I told the young lady again we was ready to have but after waiting nearly 2 hours for a crumble and custard we decided we had enough the staff was more interested in the heavy rain outside even tho there was only a handful of customers in there was no excuse for us to wait as long as we did it was very poor service and will advise any one to go somewhere else for your Sunday lunch otherwise you could be waiting as long for cold Sunday dinner with rock hard veg will stay clear of this place nothing nice about their food I could ev cooked a Christmas Dinner with all the trimmings quicker and talking of Christmas they was playing rudolf Christmas songs wouldn't mind but it's nearly March

Just been with my wife for Sunday dinner got there for 12.30 had a drink and ordered a Sunday roast it arrived about 2.30 I thought it was a kids meal eat that was still hungry ordered a desert still hadn’t arrived at 3.40 gave it back paid our bill and left best thing was they wasn’t even a dozen customers in the pub all day never again would I go there

My friends and l went for dinner after not seeing each other for months, we booked early evening. We would loved to have had a chat, but the noise was truly awful. Why can't people keep their voices down plus foul language. Some of their kids were running riot around the tables, why didn't the management at least tell them? The food wasn't brill, we could cope with that, but no way would we go back because of the clientele The Barrel attracts.

Food is top quality and well priced.

Pub looked nice staff were lovely. Gas had gone when we got there so was told only certain meals were avaliable. I had the cheese and bacon burger. The actual burger was tiny compared to the breadcake it was on and the meat was very tough . Chips was lovely and salad. Just the burger was hard and tasted like compacted cardboard nice pub just didn't rate the burger at all

We had a very large party go for a meal. The staff were very friendly and it was all organised perfectly. Meals were beautiful and the barrel was spotlessly clean. I highly recommend the barrel. Thankyou to all the staff

Popped in for dinner & drink this evening. Staff was brilliant, steak originally came wrong but was rectified straight away (didn't get pictures of mains but here's the starters we chose) and rest of our food was very tasty. Lovely area for kids to play and very pleasant atmosphere. Will 100% recommend and hopefully be back!

Very good pub food, be warned the portions are large, I would recommend the Fish & Chips, the fish was snowy white and very fresh tasting, and the chips are proper homemade not the precooked rubbish you get elsewhere. Excellent value for money all round and a nice fresh pint of proper IPA. Friendly staff completed what was a very positive evening out.
