A great neighbourhood pub with good food, beer and a laid back atmosphere.

Went for Sunday lunch very poor and slow service and pretty average but over priced food. Disappointing

Been coming to the Lescar for ten years and the quality of the food and service has always been good. However, our visit on 2/03/25 was the best yet. The 2 Nut Roasts that we had were the best we’ve ever had! The Yorkshire pudding in particular (for my veggie option) was outstanding. ‘shardy’ might be the best way to describe it. Hats off to the chef and the Lescar team!

The Lescar is a lovely, atmospheric and friendly pub. Every couple of weeks I meet with friends in the Project space room in the courtyard and we all play folk tunes together on our various instruments. The staff are very accommodating towards our folk sessions and we have a great, relaxed evening!

Hosted a fabulous party in their function room, food was great and the bartender pat was very attentive and bubbly!

Really great atmosphere with a great selection of drinks. The food isn’t the best though, classic pub grub with nothing special. Plenty of seating areas for bigger groups.

We booked the project room for a surprise party and the team were amazing! They allowed us to arrive early and set up and when those who had allergies ordered food they were very cautious and stayed in touch! Patrick was our bar tender for the night and was so accommodating and kind and we couldn’t sing his praises enough! Would highly recommend it here especially using the project room! ♥️

Great service from Charis! Food really good,m both off the main menu and the children’s food. Games available to play while you wait. Great selection of beers and wine 😀

I love the lescar but had food in there last week and a lot of it was poor. The miso chicken was dried out (sauce was delicious), as was the sourdough on the charcuterie board (so bad we fed it to the dog), and the king prawns had not been anywhere near the garlic butter and were cold despite being served in a skillet. The cherry tomato and grain salad had two cherry tomatoes on it and was 90% rocket and hardly any grains. Nobody came to ask if everything was ok until the plates were collected at the end. When I politely pointed out the issues all I got was ‘I will feed it back to the kitchen’. also wasn’t busy, so no real excuse. It will be a long time before o order food there again

Fantastic place for a work do with our own area and bar! The festive buffet provided had a lovely range of food and the staff were great. Grace who was at the bar for us was relaxed and very friendly adding to the relaxed vibe we were going for. Would happily go back for another work do!

The Lescar hosted our staff and volunteer Christmas Doo with drinks and a buffet. Everything was great and the staff really helpful. We thought the buffet items we hoped for were not available as our order had gone in late but the team made a huge effort to supply the items we wanted. What a great place with fabulous and helpful staff! Thank you :)

I attended the Sheffield Steady Tunes Session which meets in the project space behind the pub. It's a really friendly, welcoming session. Good, quick service in the pub itself too (although, as is often the case, there was no plain apple alcohol free cider available)

The Lescar is a warm and friendly space to be with friends. I've hired the back room out before and staff were really attentive to make our occasion a smooth and relaxed do. Lighting, atmosphere and service are all as you'd hope, and I think more. It's a fantastic local pub where familiar faces keep coming back but feels like an open door to wanderers - love having it on my doorstep.

The girls Charis and Emily,who looked after us were fantastic, in fact we returned because of this. Emily was so smiley it was a refreshing change as so many young people are so grumpy these days! I believe credit where it’s due, perfect members of staff 👌🏻

Great setting, good food, not so nice staff. Very sour faced, impatient manageress, who found it a huge inconvenience when I wanted to pay for two drinks instead of a whole round (it wasn’t busy). This was the icing on the cake when a couple of weeks earlier the manager rudely greeted me at my car at 7:30am as I was on my way to work (must’ve woken on the wrong side of the bed). He stressed that I’d parked inappropriately, but well within my right (clearly uneducated on parking on single yellow between certain hours). He told me he missed his £200 delivery because of me even though I saw the lorry pulling up as I left and there was ample space to park prior to me moving. Not the interaction you want first thing on a morning! Leaves a sour taste, especially as a local resident.

Had a really pleasant evening at the Lescar for a work do. Despite how busy it was (busier than some night clubs in town!) staff were very attentive. The manager Dan was brilliant and went above and beyond to sort all of our issues, and the head chef Aaron gave us some great food recommendations in line with our dietary requirements for a meal that did not disappoint. Don’t normally leave reviews but this deserved a shoutout! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

We love this pub!! We sat in the back room and the atmosphere was still great although slightly quieter. We were looked after by Grace when we had our Sunday roast and service was very fast! Thank you very much :)

Fantastic beer gardens, nice menu and a really well looked after pub. Only came for drinks this time but will return at a later date for food as the table next to us had a really delicious looking linguine! Was served by Dan, very knowledgable on the ales. 👍🏼

We were a table of nine plus a puppy. We were out for a family birthday meal. We all enjoyed our food and drinks and the service was lovely. We were served by Emily, who was extremely helpful and friendly.

Very nice cosy pub but drinks prices are very high and the barman must have been trained at Wetherspoons as has to ask "who's next" when there's only three people at the bar and he's obviously not paying attention.

Love the vibe about this pub. Good mix of people and no muzak! Not tried the food recently but it was pretty good when I did. They have a well kept and varied selection of ales plus a decent set of lagers, Guinness etc. For those that are interested there are even a stock of board games. Still great on a revisit. Had a meal a few weeks ago and it was very good and the service was excellent. I like the fact that the pub isn't aimed at one set of clientele and appeals to all. Continues to be very good. Revisited for a New year's eve meal. I enjoyed the pork belly roast.

I was given a card to scan a review but it didn’t work! I just wanted to say we visited this pub 5 years ago when my daughter started uni and we came back to visit after helping her to move in to her new home on 18/08/2024. The new decor and seating was amazing and the food was perfect! A big shout out to Grace for all your help and perfect service. We will definitely be going back thank you

The Lescar has quickly become my favourite spot for drinks in Sheffield. The atmosphere is great, and everyone that works there is so happy to help and make your experience an enjoyable one. The bar snacks (particularly the Arancini) are very tasty. I’d recommend a trip here if you haven’t had the pleasure already!

Me and my partner visited over the weekend, not knowing what to expect as we had never been in before but we gave it a try and went for some food. I had the Seafood linguine and it was honestly amazing! The quality of the food was incredible, the chef (Aaron) is a credit to your business! We will definitely be back

I can’t thank the team enough for assisting in my murder mystery dinner party. the whole team, both front of house and kitchen, were incredible, super accommodating and just really friendly and lovely. thank you to lily and john for all their assistance leading up to the event, with helping work out the difficult table settings to dealing with all the requests i had. a massive thank you to the kitchen staff for being so accommodating with the set menu, the food was incredible and everyone loved it. thank you for letting us set times that the food came out, this really helped with the flow of the evening. and a huge thank you to john and caine (sorry if i have spelt this wrong) for all of your assistance on the night. the food came out quickly and everyone loved how friendly and helpful you both were. i know we were a lot of people so i really cannot thank you all enough for making my evening so great!

Pleasant atmosphere with friendly staff. Recommend the French steak sandwich which comes with one of the best beef dripping gravies I've ever tasted.

Attended a private party in "the back room". Spacious for the number of people who attended. Lovely interior decoration. Finger food was absolutely delicious. Comfortable furniture. Contributed to an enjoyable evening

We went for an extended family get together and this was the perfect spot. We’d reserved a big table inside but as it was sunny the staff were great about us moving out into the sun trap of a beer garden at the back. We were your typical nightmare table, all ordering separately at different times and staying ages but the staff were AMAZING! So friendly! Between us we tried lots of the menu and it was all delicious. Great portion sizes and really tasty! Really recommend!!

Had a lovely afternoon in the Lescar beer garden yesterday with a really tasty late lunch and a few drink with extended family. A great pub that we haven’t been to in a while, cracking beer garden and staff were top notch and really looked after us! Great work The Lescar…we’ll be back! ☀️👍🏼

The way I have seen a female manager talk to some staff and customers is genuinely disgusting, some people just shouldnt be in hospitality and clearly they decided to work here ...what a shame

The Lescar always has a fantastic atmosphere. The comedy there is definitely worth a trip, even when the comedians are awful it's great fun. The beer garden isn't the most picturesque but it's nice to sit out in during the rare glimpses of nice weather.

Was not sure where to go for a Sunday roast and was recommended The Lescar. The staff were all very attentive and the chefs were all amazing. Best Sunday roast I've ever had. Thank you Josh.

One of my favourite pubs in Sheffield. Really great atmosphere and feels really cosy inside. Nice big beer garden for the summer. Good selection of beers on tap too.

Reasonably priced drinks with a varied selection. Didn’t try the food so I can’t speak to its quality. The vibe was good though, and the outdoor seating area was spacious.

A group of 7 went for Sunday lunch and we all enjoyed our food. The roasts had lots of good veggies, were tasty, filling and good value. The reason I'm writing a review though is due to the service. We received such a warm welcome as soon as we turned up. Even though they were busy and we turned up in dribs and drabs, with muddled, hungover ordering and lots of mind changing, we received exceptional service from every member of staff. Millie gets a special mention for standout hospitality skills (qualities) but the whole team deserves a mention. Cheers all :)

We hosted our daughter’s 21st Birthday party with you and thought the space was fabulous for our needs, all staff were extremely friendly and helpful.

Working on business from the North East . Spent two nights dining there . The pub and staff are brilliant. Very welcoming and genuine warmth. I must highlight Emily the waitress who is charming and a credit to herself. I was so impressed with the quality of meals we had. I had to personally thank Chef Josh !!! The lamb duo + Steak ale pie + Calamari were exceptional. Trust me this is a hidden gem with real ales to boot !!!!

bored indifferent staff,pie crust so hard that the knife could barely penetrate,bordelaise??? not much of it and could have been granules for all the difference it made, and please, please stop referring to " chef" ,they are glorified reheaters at best,in this instance at least, and then to add insult to injury we were booted out of where we were sitting to accomodate a booking.Thoroughly underehelming mate

What a great disappointment. The drinks over priced. Food was awful. Cold,small portions. I had steak and chips and it came with no veg. Staff couldn't give a s××t about are complaints. Also after complaining we were told to hurry up and move,didn't have time to digest the food. I wouldn't recommend it to my worst enemy. I'll go to McDonald's next time.

It was a very disappointing meal. Over priced,small portion. I had steak and chips. Literally just that with pea shoots(don't see the point in pea shoots)no veg. Thin grainy steak. I can say the beef dripping sauce was delicious. Staff came to see how the food was and couldn't care less that we complained. No refund, not even an apology. Then we were hurried along without time to digest because they had a party due. I will never go again or recommend it to anyone. I've never left somewhere still hungry. I give it 1 out of 10.

Great pub beer and food superb.

We went with a large group after the Sheffield half marathon and we had an awesome time. The food was really good, the staff were awesome and the general vibe was really nice as always. Really good level of options with the food while also being really good quality. Always our go to pub in Sheff for a social!

Perfect wrap made fresh, hot and tasty.

£5.45 for a pint of 4.0% pale ale probably delivered by Abbeydale. Scandalous! Ok we thought, this place must have gone “up market” since we were last here five years ago. Well no it hasn’t. We ordered lunch. After an hour and ten minutes I asked if it was normal to wait so long. “Sorry, I should have told you, there’s a 30min delay on food.” That didn’t make sense, we were over an hour in and they don’t sell any food which takes time to cook. 10 minutes later the food arrived… cold. I guess we were unlucky but you review as you find. It wasn’t worth the 40 minute drive to get there.

It's a local pub, but has excellent food too. Our party of four was really impressed with the choices. Is recommend for a fun evening with friends or family!

We had a beautiful meal thank you The staff were so friendly and couldn’t do enough for us, coming over to make sure we had drinks. The pub has a great atmosphere and such comfy and quirky surroundings. I don’t drink alcohol and they a great selection of alcohol free drinks & lucky saint one of my favourites. So overall a great experience and we will be back Amazing food & amazing staff

Food was just the right amount and delicious. Haven't been in a while but wouldn't hesitate to take friends out for a meal there more often now.

The Lescar is a local favourite and every visit here is a good time. The inviting atmosphere, complete with crackling fireplace and soft lighting, creates the perfect setting. There is an impressive selection of beverages, including locally brewed guest ales and cocktails. It can get busy on a weekend but the staff are always welcoming. The Jazz nights hosted here are a great evening. They also run a pub quiz on Sundays for the charity Mind!

WE HIRED THE FUNCTION ROOM THE STAFF WERE GREAT AND IT WAS A LOVELY ENVIRONMENT.

I occasionally have a weekday lunch here. Always tasty and quick. Fits comfortably in to an hour lunch break.

We were welcomed by Marc. Big, beaming friendly face, full of funny banter and laughter. He sorted out our table and it was in the area we’d requested, so we were really happy. Gracie looked after us for most of the night. She was so lovely and friendly 💙 There was a big table next to us and I noticed how well she looked after them too. Really organised and on top of things ☺️ The bar staff were brilliant. Last night, the pub was super busy and noisy. I don’t know how the staff kept on top of things. They knew exactly who was next to be served. Seamless and impressive.

Hired the private room for my daughters 40th. The food and staff were great. We had a lovely time and would recommend it to others.

Great service- really attentive and cared that we had a good experience. Good was excellent and good value.
