The Old George in Newcastle upon Tyne

A pub with a great loci genius. The oldest in Newcastle. I was there on Saturday and packed to the brim. There was dancing outside, the fun was in full swing. The bartenders are kind, prompt, they tried their best. I highly recommend ❤️

Bottomless brunch was fantastic, the man who served us was great and refilled our drinks swiftly.

We had a really nice pizza and the fries were great too. Atmosphere is great and the staff were very friendly!

Good atmosphere both inside and outside. Good place for beers and to watch sports with its multiple screens.

Great old 16th century pub. Seating for food isn't always the easiest to get, but great place to have a drink and watch the football.

Great bar, loads of seating inside the venue. Friendly staff. Outside area for dancing and smoking. There are usually sporting events shown on the screens inside too.

Old George Inn is a lovely building in Newcastle City centre. Drinks served here were very expensive & rather poor quality. I don't expect an ale to be flat after only 10 minutes. Bar service was awesome & welcoming though!

This place was great, cozy but upbeat atmosphere! The staff, Rhi and Ross were great bartenders. Super friendly and very helpful! Would definitely recommend this place as a great stop for the pub atmosphere. Lots of TVs to watch sports on as well.

We had the best bottomless brunch here today. Beth, Scott and Dean couldn't do enough for us - they kept our drinks flowing and always noticed when we were close to finishing a drink so that they could take our next order so we were never without a drink. The food came fast and it was delicious. It was our first visit to the Old George Inn after a recommendation, it certainly won't be our last. Thank you to your 3 wonderful staff who looked after us today and gave us such a fantastic experience.

Fantastic place for a Saturday night

Henrik & Rhi took extra special care of us today. We came for bottomless brunch for our anniversary. They have been very attentive throughout our visit making sure everything is taken care of. We had a very warm reception. Food came out in good time and our drinks were always topped up. Many thanks ❤️

Had a buffett dinner with work collegues, the food was really nice.

We went for the bottomless brunch and my goodness it was excellent. The drinks were flowing thanks to the help of a superb barmaid / server and the food was not too bad either. Recommended

Delicious food, tasty beers and a good atmosphere, but it is inconvenient that you have to order at the bar and they don't come to your table.

Particularly enjoyed the upstairs room, light, comfortable. Mind you, the room has a few v.large tv's that can distract from a conversation, but can be a good sports menu. Attractive pub overall. Long may it last.

Staff friendly service excellent we love the food we had the crowd pleaser far too much for 2 people and the atmosphere terrific even when Newcastle not at home.

Spent an hour there while a friend went to a record store. Met a lovely family. Always enjoy coming here

The bartender was really friendly, and we could order from our phone. Prices were great, staff + customers very friendly and we had a fantastic evening where other much more expensive pubs around the area gave us terrible service. The Italian Job burger was tasty! 5/5!

Wanted to go for ages, decided to stop by tonight only for our evening to be ruined by the female security guard who was very rude. I showed my national ID which wasn’t good enough apparently, as she took it and asked for another one. so I showed my British residence permit which she immediately declined. So because I’m not British I’m not allowed in the venue? When my partner said something she just told us to leave meanwhile the other security guard didn’t seem to have a problem. Instead of being polite and explaining these strange policies her whole approach was off, even following after my partner asking “what did you say” when he said the state of her attitude was appalling. A real shame and we will never visit again thanks. Would never give business to a place that has problems with my identity.

A legend of an old pub and nice staff and pint served.

Wow!! Our server Beth was totally on the ball!! Kept us topped up with drinks for the two hours and service was with a smile! Very rare these days!! Will definitely return and will tell others xx

WOWZA! Words cannot express the service I had in this venue, simply breathtaking. If you think you’ve had a good brunch, you have clearly never had a brunch at the Old George!! Having done a few of these brunches before in different locations this one has taken top spot! Sarah served us with a smile and made us feel right at home!!! Will definitely be returning!!! Thank you to the staff at the Old George but in particular to Sarah :)

We visited today as part of our wedding anniversary celebrations and we had a brill time. Ash, Hen and Ross were amazing hosts and our glasses were never empty! Food was spot on, drinks were spot on, brill music, fab hosts = perfect afternoon out!

Booked bottomless brunch for friends birthday. Couldnt fault it. Service was great, cocktails kept coming and food was lovely. Would definitely go again (didnt get the name of guy who was looking after us whioch is a puity as he relly looked after us) Bottle of Prosecco on table was a lovely touch

We visited The Old George for bottomless brunch on Saturday. I can’t recommend this place enough for bottomless brunch . There was games , food and of course bottomless cocktails . They have amazing range of drinks including pints and cocktails . We had the best time can’t thank the staff enough. Especially George who was our server for our table he always had a smile , very polite and of course never left us with an empty glass :).

One of the Funnest brunch’s I’ve ever been to and I’ve been to a lot!! The selection of drinks is amazing for a brush. This is not limited to. Few choices giys. You have a menu! Also I’m not going g to lie the food at these things is usually a bit crap but I was sooo impressed. As was the other 20 people in our party! Luke and Ash are amazing and Ross who was looking after us was also brill. Not to sure about George one his trial shift though. Just joking he was also super!! All in a brilliant day had by all!! Great lively bar in the centre of Newcastle. Great music and atmosphere. Outside dancey courtyard and plenty of bars and spaces inside. A great night out.

Food - average but expensive Service - my order from the app didn't work. It was quite quickly resolved but it was still annoying, as I went to the trouble to download the app and still had to go to the bar after a long time waiting Atmosphere - it's just a chain nothing special Beer - the real ale was very good in fairness

Had a great afternoon on Sunday with my wife booked a last minute bottomless brunch and it was brilliant. Scott looked after us but the rest of the team Bazz and Hen in the kitchen were all brilliant. The food was great the cocktails were all good. Would definitely do it again. En excellent afternoon. Visited twice in the last year, the bar staff are excellent, prices for drinks and food are reasonable, definitely stop to make if you're visiting Newcastle.

4 of us went to bottomless brunch on Friday. At 4pm It was really good! The member of staff that was our host was absolutely amazing! A credit to that place! Would definitely do it again!

Stopped off here for a stag do! The service from the staff was outstanding, we came from Ireland and let me say, Kelly and Ross loved the craic, very engaging ! Would highly recommend anybody to stop by.

The girls booked a bottomless brunch to celebrate my graduation and for another member of the groups 30th. Lovely selection of cocktails (I’m picky) and nice food, something for all of us. Our hosts Kelly and ash were brilliant, topping up our drinks and making sure we had everything we needed. Best bottomless brunch I’ve been too, excellent quality for money too.

Had a great time. The “Sal de mar” was so smooth. Kelly, one of the managers was so nice.

Popped into the Old George just for a drink before we went off to meet friends. My wife in her younger days used this pub as a local even though she lived in Ashington always frequenting after work. The pub is welcoming, staff friendly ( Beth and Kelly) the fairy lights even though they were for Christmas had been left up and that added something to the ambience. I cannot comment on the food as we did not eat there, but the menu seems ok. We will be back next time we are in Newcastle

What a lovely little find! Surprisingly cosy at lunchtime, tucked away from the bustle of the city. Kelly and Rhi were very engaging in guiding us through the menu options.
