Don't even bother booking a table because it doesn't guarantee you get anything! There's zero point in them having a booking system. We booked for food which you can select on the website and picked our time. We arrived at the pub and thought it looked pretty good. We sat down at our table and used the QR codes to order, one person in our group ordered and seconds later the rest of us tried to order but were met with error messages. We went up to ask if we could order at the bar to be told they were not serving food for over an hour now so we could not order, baring in mind you only get a 2 hour table slot. So we watched one person eat their meal whilst the rest of us were just sat there. I've never ever booked a table for food and not been able to have food. I understand not taking orders for walk ins but what's the point in having a booking system if this is the case.

Just went for a drink to meet a couple of friends £6.50 for a pint then went round to corner to the next pub and got 3 pints of Stella for under a tenner. Apart from the prices very nice pub

We had a bottomless brunch for my friends birthday and only recieved four drinks each in 2 hours with very poor service despite booking two weeks in advance. A drink was spilt on one of my friends and the server did not apologise despite acknowledging the spillage. The drink went all over her jean’s and food and still no apology. We all had to pay in advance which was about £280 for the student bottomless brunch for 14 of us, bearing in mind that we had booked this brunch 2 weeks in advance would have thought that they would have accounted for the amount of people with extra staff. We had heard really good reviews for this place but honestly I will not be returning with the experience I have had. I can appreciate it is hard to serve a large group but with the amount of notice they had and the service we received it was a really disappointing experience - especially for a 19th birthday.

The Old George Inn is a must-visit! The atmosphere is fantastic, with a real sense of history and charm. What truly makes this place special are the staff, especially Ross and Ben. They're incredibly friendly, always have a smile, and go out of their way to make you feel welcome. The beer selection is top-notch, and the overall vibe is perfect for a relaxed evening with friends. Highly recommend!"

Me and my girlfriend came in for some food and a pint enjoying the good weather and it’s been amazing. The student deals are amazing with 2.75 drinks and we both got the £5 students food deal which was again amazing value, food itself was also amazing, we both got a pepperoni pizza which came fast and was really tasty. Ben and Ross were both amazing talking to us at the bar and their service. Absolutely recommend to anyone for the drinks, food and the overall atmosphere! Will be back again and again!

Bottomless was rather good staff was spot on quick service with drinks .. But….. customer services is despicable Emailed few times as we have been over charged told it was getting sorted to still be waiting 2 weeks still no payment now gettkng blanked on emails on a over charge payment from themselves!

Had a fab bottomless brunch here on Sunday. Couldn't find fault with anything, the food was beautiful the drinks kept coming, cocktails were amazing. Bar staff Hen & Ash looked after us the whole time, they were amazing, making sure we didn't have an empty glass for the whole 2 hours. Thoroughly recommend The Old George for 5* service. We attended bottomless as quite a big group for 2 of the girls birthdays. Sat down with a glass of Prosecco as soon as we arrived. We were all greeted by the fabulous Luke. He is the host with the most and by far what makes this bottomless stand out from all others we’ve been to. The atmosphere is amazing and the games really get everyone involved. Food orders were taken and there were no complaints about food. Drinks were served quickly and were all good! All in all an excellent afternoon of dance and laughter, already booked our next one! So that speaks for itself… give it a go you won’t be dissapointed 🍹🥂🍺

Went with a friend and shared 1kg of chicken wings with a plate of nachos and had bottomless drink, the staff were amazing and our waitresses Beth made sure our drinks were never empty and made sure we were looked after the whole time we were there. Fully recommend a brunch here.

The bar tender was extremely rude, she gave me and my friends dirty looks for nothing and made us all very uncomfortable. she then asked for all of our ids, which is okay but with a very rude manner. we showed the ids and one of my friends was told to leave and she said okay and left and the other male bar tender said no need for attitude when there wasn’t any, completely unprofessional, overpriced and rude horrible place i’m unable to reply to the statement said by the owner, if my review was read you would have seen that the issue was the rudeness and blatant unprofessionalism of the staff NOT about the ids

As always, our visit to The George for lunch and drinks was an enjoyable one. The service from Jon and Ross was excellent, both were attentive and welcoming in their combining their customer based and other duties. Our food was delicious, we enjoyed Fajita Chicken Rice and Chicken Kebab both served with beautifully prepared vegetables, salad, rice and fries. All served with a smile. This lovely and historical setting never disappoints !

Booked the function room upstairs, the manager Saz made the booking really easy and Connor on the bar was super friendly and gave great service.

Was not the best choice for our break. Very busy on a Thursday afternoon. Too noisy and a DJ blaring out music. Might be the oldest pub in Newcastle but a "young crowd." Quick pint and out.

We were served by Ross and he was lovely! He was always more than happy to serve us and contributed to the wonderful atmosphere of the pub.

Ross was an absolute legend, made sure we had everything we needed, he was attentive and checked up on us now and again. Honestly one of the best brunches I’ve done. Also the food was amazing!!!

This has to be one of the most popular bars in Newcastle. Quality beers on draught. Always busy if you are struggling to find a seat inside just hang at the courtyard where the DJ plays. Prime spot for a night out in the town. Will be back again

For a listed building and one of the oldest pubs in Newcastle this place is dreadful. No atmosphere, out of place “corporate” bland furniture. Disheveled.

Disgraceful establishment. I phoned to talk about the discrimination i have faced and was told them would ring me back I have since rang 3 times and they have not answered. If u want to go to racist establishment go here. Absolutely astonished at their response and that they tried to justify their racist policy of not letting non British citizens in to their pub.

My friend and I who don’t have British drivers licenses and don’t carry our passports were rudely not allowed into the venue due to our foreign identity cards which have been accepted everywhere I’ve been. This British pub is clearly racist trying it’s best not to let foreigners into there pub, they somehow bring together everything bad about this great country. Shame on you.

Appalling behaviour towards my friend last night. She was told she was too drunk to be served and then spoke about by staff. She never goes out for she is deaf and has a slight speech impairment but not something to be made fun of. It’s people like your staff that make her feel like this. Disgusting behaviour

Cameron was an absolutely fantastic bottomless brunch host! From start to finish, he brought great energy, kept the drinks flowing, and made sure everyone was having the best time. His pornstar martinis were unbelievable—perfectly mixed and dangerously good! He was super attentive, always checking in to top up drinks and make sure we had everything we needed. The atmosphere was buzzing, and a huge part of that was down to his amazing hosting skills. 10/10 night—would definitely come back again!

The most amazing bottomless brunch. Fantastic menu with the most amazing options. Hands down the best brunch I have ever been to and I have been to many. Me and my friend had Ben and Bort as our servers both were super quick very friendly and such a good sense of humor. I would recommend this brunch to anyone and I can’t wait to come back.

The crowd was with college students and football lovers

We were a family visiting from Ireland to see grandchildren that live in the north east. We researched best pub to watch the rugby and this was one of the top rated. We checked out the children policy online which said children up to 7pm. So tonight we went to watch Ireland play England. We got ourselves a good spot where the whole family had a good view of all the televisions. The Scotland game finished and we were waiting on the Ireland game and the tv channels switched to football coverage. We asked were they showing the next game….and were told no you have to go upstairs. Well the good seat we had was out the window. We got upstairs with some others who were around us. Match was shown and low and behold it was then shown where we were told to move from. Then not long into the match, an employee approached us and told us we had to leave by 5.30. We questioned this and they said all children had to be out at this time. There was no reconciling with him. I checked the online policy. So went to bar and asked for manager. The same person who asked us to leave approached me. I showed him the policy online and he said but today is a match day. I asked where this was online and it’s not there. We are talking about a young boy of 11 who never moved from his seat who was surrounded by his parents and grandparents sharing a lovely rugby memory with his grandfather. They share a love of rugby. I am extremely disappointed at the attitude of the staff towards us. This was a week planned out trip to watch the match in an atmosphere close to being at a live match. If you don’t want families then put that on your website and families can go elsewhere

I have used this pub since l was young its quaint charm has never changed l was how ever disappointed with the rubbish strewn all over outside it gave the pub an uncared for look l would say perhaps sweep outside daily to keep it tidy

Bottomless Brunch was great! Services was 10/10 always there when we needed a drink and food came during the start which was great to eat through out. Our server Scotty was helpful and kept us entertained through Definitely the place for brunch!

Definitely up there as 1 of the best bottomless brunches we've been to if not the best! The communication right from booking was spot on. Andrea was a brilliant host from the moment we arrived, she made sure the drinks kept flowing on our table of 9 & we were never dry :) DJ Dean kept us all entertained throughout the 2 hours & even asked everyone for some song suggestions, fab singer too. I am already booked to go back next month with another crowd of 13 , highly recommended.

was in a couple of wks and a young man and his wife (she was of chinese origin) was asked to leave for what we could see no reason at all.. Was shocked at the behaviour and manner they was asked to leave, then for a man who was sat at the bar to come over to them and say that's my lass behind the bar so u need to leave .. when clearly it was him who had the problem... Need to recheck your cctv footage as I think this couple need a full apology

About every 2 years we have a get together with friends to catch up and discuss how the world has changed. We always do this in the old George because of its atmosphere. Will come back again.

Not pub food and it’s all freezer food so it’s not great to be honest. Atmosphere is okay but one football game finished and there are another 5 games on and they are not changing the channel. Bizarre. There are better places than this.

Absolutely fantastic time yesterday at the festive bottomless brunch, brilliant atmosphere, great DJ, amazing staff! Cameron who was looking after our large table was amazing, very attentive and a credit to the team. Scott who was leading the brunch was brilliant sorting out a couple of food mis-orders very promptly. Thank you, we’ve already got a date in our diary for another visit.

Weird atmosphere towards asian customer for bottomless brunch today

Told us to clear up bottomless brunch early for some reason. There was some ice on table but felt excessive. First bottomless brunch and wouldn't do again. Said they were kicking us out because of their boyfriends at the bar's comments? Weird behavior. Cant help but think boyfriend was racist at the bar as we had Asian in party. Don't understand otherwise. Either you're not allowed to spill a bit of ice on table from 90mins of drinking or they had an issue with us. We'd been in with no issue from 12-1.30 until this guy came in with no issue. Nevermind. Won't be back. Surely some ice on the table is worth a discussion rather than setting your racist boyfriends on the case... Otherwise tell us what happened and we could have carried on brunch? Really bizarre as we were nothing but friendly to be treated this way. Nevermind as only tried this bottomless brunch for good reviews. Sorry to be contrary.

Be careful booking here, my son and his wife went for bottomless brunch, and were told to leave after putting ice on the table saying they were spilling drinks, but told the girl she didn’t want ice, there Xmas day out ruined, and cut short by 25 minutes, if they don’t expect people to get a bit drunk they shouldn’t do bottomless brunch, so if you want to enjoy yourself don’t go to old George.

Came for bottomless brunch. Said that some ice on the table was wasteful and got kicked out. Did say it was because of their boyfriends being regulars at the bar and wanting us out. Bit weird after paying for 2 hours. Barmaid and boyfriends were weird. Probably racist as cant see any issue otherwise.

My friend & I found the Old George by luck. The staff were friendly and the atmosphere was great. Very festive. We’ll definitely be back next time we visit.

Got my children a cheese pizza it came rock hard as you can see in pic looks like the cheese isn’t even melted but was actually hard so didn’t eat it. Asked for plain burger and chips for other child and a double burger with bacon came? Quite a expensive place for crap food.

Beth welcomed us and was extremely friendly and helpful. Service was excellent, pace of service was spot on and our glasses were not empty for very long before our next drink arrived. Food was delicious and cooked exactly as requested, compliments to the chef! Only seasonal cocktail I requested was not available although there were plenty of other cocktails and drinks to choose from. Cocktails we had were lovely, hubby said Guinness was good too. Good value for money here, this is the 4th time I’ve visited for a bottomless brunch, and although the experience downstairs is different from upstairs and it did get busy towards the end of our time we still had a brill afternoon. Only downside of the visit was there was no phone signal inside so could not use the mixr points I have accrued as payment towards the cost.

A pub with a great loci genius. The oldest in Newcastle. I was there on Saturday and packed to the brim. There was dancing outside, the fun was in full swing. The bartenders are kind, prompt, they tried their best. I highly recommend ❤️

Old George Inn is a lovely building in Newcastle City centre. Drinks served here were very expensive & rather poor quality. I don't expect an ale to be flat after only 10 minutes. Bar service was awesome & welcoming though!

This place was great, cozy but upbeat atmosphere! The staff, Rhi and Ross were great bartenders. Super friendly and very helpful! Would definitely recommend this place as a great stop for the pub atmosphere. Lots of TVs to watch sports on as well.

We had the best bottomless brunch here today. Beth, Scott and Dean couldn't do enough for us - they kept our drinks flowing and always noticed when we were close to finishing a drink so that they could take our next order so we were never without a drink. The food came fast and it was delicious. It was our first visit to the Old George Inn after a recommendation, it certainly won't be our last. Thank you to your 3 wonderful staff who looked after us today and gave us such a fantastic experience.
