The Old Fruit Shop in Glasgow City

We always pop in here after a walk around Linn Park. The staff are all friendly and welcoming, and the coffee/cakes are superb. We've also been in a couple of times for dinner and have not been disappointed. The restaurant offers a nice relaxed vibe to sit and enjoy a glass of wine as well as some great food. The menu seems to offer something new every time we go! We would definitely recommend it to anyone passing, and we will be back soon.

Lovely food, we had a burger and five small plates, followed by a tray bake which was delicious. Really great mix of food, local brewery options and very friendly and accomodating staff. Restaurant has lovely decor with a relaxed vibe. Will be back.

Popped in for a late lunch with my sister. The place has a trendy rustic vibe. I had the Eggs Benedict on toasted sourdough with smoked salmon and mashed avocado. Good. My sister had the roast beef special - a Yorkshire pudding sandwich complete with roast potatoes and gravy. A true whopper! The staff were all friendly and efficient. Wish it was MY local…

Booked in for the Cinco de Mayo special and thoroughly enjoyed it. We shared a number of dishes and all were fantastic. Margarita cocktail was good but not great, although when the food was so tasty, it did not matter. Staff were super friendly and helpful. Will return to try the brunch menu asap.

Went for the Sunday roast menu. 2 choices beef or butternut squash. Couple of sides bread & Mac & cheese. The food was fine usual Sunday roast fare. We found the drinks to be a bit on the excessive side. Large glass of generic red was £10 & a 440 ml can of craft pilsner was £6.50. The tables were close very together so it’s ideal if you’re an Isa from still game! Might go back if they drop the price the drink as it’s a heavy mark up.

Popped in with couple of friends for a coffee and brunch this morning and it was delicious. My friend orderd a raspberry and almond scone which we were told were baked freshly this morning and I ordered the funghi Benedict. Both were absolutely delicious and really beautifully presented. Will def be back!

Had a great night trying the new evening menu. The Merlot was great. The menu was satisfactory. Will be going gain to try some other things ! They will adjust the menu - e.g. remove nuts from puddings at no charge. The service is friendly and knowledgeable. For four is we paid £150 including a voluntary gratuity. Only comment is that the chairs are hard, so if you need a soft seat get a table along the wall and sit on the padded bench.

Been here several times before, never disappoints. Food, staff, surroundings are just perfect. 100% recommend

What a lovely afternoon! Our dogs really enjoyed their time here too, which is (obviously) more important than us... the team even provided a 'dog treat' plate. AJ was great, both he and the team looked after us. Wine and food fantastic! I wish we lived in Scotland to come back more regularly.... perhaps you could expand to Belfast! A highly recommended restaurant!

First class service and food. Great choice on the menu and the staff are really friendly and knowledgeable. You really feel like they want you to have a good time. The butter chicken was really tasty, the bravas amazing and the special sausage roll was great. All 4 of us really enjoyed our food and sitting in the sun in Glasgow in September was an added bonus. Happy 1st birthday Old Fruit Shop. Keep this quality up and we look forward to celebrating many more birthdays with you.

Best brunch we've had in a while. We has the Scotsman benedict and the salmon benedict. Really tasty and excellent portions. Hollandaise sauce was lovely. Standard brunch prices for Glasgow but I feel you get more for your money than a lot of places. Super friendly and professional staff. Cant wait to go back!

Was looking forward to trying this place as I drive pass it every day from work and always wanted to try it. I noticed that there was a Caribbean night running over the weekend and as I love this type of food I booked it.lets start with the positive, staff were very welcoming and the place was clean and nice decor a bit on the small side with tables all very close to each other . We both had a cocktail to start with the pina colada was very disappointing there was no resembles to a pina colada it tasted like milk and water . The food was not the best either each small tapas dish had the same taste as the other I think the same sauce from the dip was used as a marinade for all the other dishes and the fritter was tastless the Goat curry again tasted like the dip and the meat was fatty . This meal was very over priced too . We passed on dessert as we noticed the couple beside us had the Jamaican iced cake and it did not look appetising. The experience was a bit of a let down.

We had a delicious meal here tonight. Food was really tasty and fresh. Small plates meant we could order a selection. Calamari was perfectly cooked. Staff were very friendly. Lovely atmosphere too. Highly recommend a visit

I visted this little gem with my Family as a treat, the food was very tasty full of flavours and beautifully presented, excellent quality also and left my family and I wanting to try more from the menu. A must visit when in the area.

Sat down, ordered a drink, took 20 near 20 minutes, ordered food, waited another 20 minutes and finally had enough and asked if the food was coming, guy checked, oh sorry your waitress had to leave, she didn't put the order in, sorry about that. So 40 minutes wasted, the guy we dealt with was decent, offered us free stuff and convinced us to take a cake each, nice gesture, but still lunch ruined, have to go back to work, and strange that every other person that came in before us and after us got their food, not sure what the emergency was but could she not have passed over the order to someone, think she just didn't bother and the guy tried to cover, am not impressed at all.

we had a tapas dinner here. the food was excellent very tasty and very fresh. The food arrived thermally very hot and the service was very friendly and efficient and knowledgeable. The meu apparently changes regularly - we will be back.

Should I start with the home made focaccia? You will not taste anything like it. They say the sign of a truly great chef is they way they cook simple food. It doesn't come any simpler than focaccia and yet it was sublime. I asked various people from our group of 21 what their favourite dish was and everyone had a different answer because it was all amazing. Some people are still contemplating their answer. Great food also deserves great service and we were not disappointed. Nothing was too much trouble and I was made to feel welcome and at home. I've also been in for brunch and it's equally delightful. Very few places manage to pull off being a great daytime place and a good nighttime restaurant but The Old Fruitshop does this impressively. AJ the chef/owner delivers something rare and special at very reasonable prices. If you have a special occasion, then it's a great choice. But even if you're just needing to grab a bite to eat, it will work for you too .

we tried this lovely bistro/cafe for the first time and were not disappointed. The service by rob and erin was first class as was the food. I had a scotsman's waffle and my wife had thee smoked salmon, followed by cake and tea. We also bought lamb and couscous pies to take away a 10/10 experience. will be back.

So lovely to have a decent place to eat in the evening in our neighbourhood. We'd already eaten lunch there several times and had been impressed each time so we thought we'd try dinner there with friends. The food and service were excellent. The only downside is the size of the tables, making it difficult to have 8 or 9 small, sharing plates of food and drinks on the table at once due to lack of space. Saying that we'll definitely be back.

Cracking restaurant & deli in Cathcart. I’ve been a few times for their evening dinner menu and popped in for takeaway coffee too. The food is always superb. Small plates done brilliantly. It has a great atmosphere and the staff are very attentive and friendly...

We visited this cafe/bistro on a cold Sunday after seeing numerous reviews on Facebook and thought it deserved a place on Trip Advisor. The food is sourced locally and cooked fresh it has a great menu and the cakes are outstanding, Well worth a visit...
