Quite possibly the best value carvery in Hampshire. Have eaten here 4 times in the last 3 months, including a family birthday party for 10. The food has always been very good. Staff are very pleasant and accommodating. The prices are very reasonable and all the time it stays that way I will continue to support. The renovation work has come on very well and has been finished to a high standard. The front porch has at last been finished, which I’m sure will be a welcome relief for those sitting in the conservatory during the winter months (ie minimal draught). Very happy to recommend.

A most beautiful place to eat great decor fabulous food can’t wait to go again the best place I’ve ever had a meal .Gorgeous marble statues.

Absolutely amazing food and service. This restaurant is clean, spacious and airy and has a lovely relaxed ambience to it. We couldn't believe the portion sizes in here, they are huge. The meat is cut really thick and it just melts in the mouth. There were around 7 or 8 different types of vegetables, cheesy mash, roast potatoes, Swede, carrots, green beans, onions, peas, cauliflower cheese, cabbage, Yorkshire puddings. The service is friendly, polite and helpful and to top it all off the price is amazing too. We couldn't believe how low the prices were. Would I recommend this place? 100% I would. This is our new place to go. Thank you guys and keep up the great work x

Called in on off chance for late Sunday roast often driven past and wondering what it was liked initially told they weren’t accepting walk-in I asked if she knew of anywhere the manager was lovely explained we had just come off holiday and everyone booked up she then offered us a lovely table by the bar comfy armchair seats ordered the carvery and it was delicious so much meat the beef was so tender lovely atmosphere done out in Turkish decor all the staff were very friendly even though it was very busy think we have found our new Sunday roast restaurant definitely coming again and reasonably priced would advise to book

Regularly come here with the family. Generally opt for the carvery and can’t fault it. We have never had a bad meal. Lots of choice and the meat is always superb. Great value for money… and if you decide to have dessert the options are huge! No scrimping whatsoever. Highly recommend!

Excellent Carvery good fresh food, not over priced, thoroughly enjoyed it, will go again. The only thing I would say needs improvement is the car park, there is a grass field but wouldn’t use it, didn’t want to risk getting stuck in mud.

We pass here frequently and have never been in as it doesn’t have much curb appeal however on a friends recommendation we decided to try it. It was great, the staff are lovely and the decor is great too. The choices for the carvery are perfect . 3 meats to choose from and a brilliant selection of veg really nicely cooked. Compliments to the chefs. We certainly would recommend it and will definitely eat here again in the future. Thanks to all at The Forge.

Absolutely amazing carvery! Huge portions of beef, turkey or ham. The vegetables are fresh, tasty and plentiful. Hugely good value for money! Other dinner menu options are available to order. The dessert menu is worth a trip just on its own!

This place is lovely. The decor, the service, the food is all really good. You do need to know to purchase your lunch at the bar when you are buying a drink. As you pay as you go, it is ideal for groups. There are several areas to sit, some more cosy and some out in the newer area which is light, airy and spacious. The food was plentiful, good choice (9 to 10 different vegetables), meat cut in thick slices and plenty of it. As there is plenty of room, on the twice I have been there, there is no pressure for the table so we sat and chatted with drinks. A really good experience on both occasions. The only possible downside is there is not much parking for the size of the seating areas, so would advise people to meet where there is parking and travel in as few cars as possible.

Ten family members in attendance and all enjoyed an excellent meal. six carveries, three scampies and a mix grill followed by deserts. not one complaint. we will be going back

Well, what can I say generally, The Forge is a lovely place to go I went today and it was very average! It’s always very confusing when you have to pay and Q and pay then q! We were in there at 12:30 and vegetables were cold and the meat very average which is a great shame. This is the first bad meal. I’ve heard they’re there. But… The price point is incredible fantastic value for money but very hot gravy made up for it I will return.

Que, upon que apon que. Car park way to small, que to join the que to enable you to park. Cars can't get out to let anyone in. Que at the till to buy drinks. Join another que to order food. Then join another que to eat it. Food was overcooked/sloppy vegetables and looked undesirable. The place doesn't work in any sense. Trying to be a Turkish resteraunt in the Med' and failing badley. Extreme lack of "English speakers". Loathful, will never use again.

New to the area so exploring eateries local to us. The Forge exceeded expectations. Went to try out the carvery on a Thursday evening. Loved the decor and the new, nearly finished, front extension. Carvery was really nice and the roast beef very tender and not at all chewy like some carveries offer. Had the baked cheese cake for desert which was a joy. Came with cream, ice cream, strawberries, raspberries and grapes. Delicious and generous. All highly recommended and we will return. There is a varied menu as well as the carvery option, ample choices for starter and desert if you wish for greater choice. A good find.

Lovely restaurant and wonderful service have been several times now and can not fault food or service. We had a large family booking last month and everyone thoroughly impressed. We visited again last weekend with my granddaughter and they provided her with a small plate of her own she loved it 🥰

Looked like it wasn't open when we arrived but still under going building works outside. When we walked in the door, we were stunned by the amazing decor, furniture, and atmosphere. We paid at the bar for food and I paid for 3 carveries and 3 drinks. The prices were really good. £45 for the lot. I required the ladies room and I have to say cleanliness is a big thing for me in public toilets. These were immaculate not only in cleanliness but decor didn't fail them. The whole restaurant has such stunning decor throughout. A must visit. Parking out front or back of the building.

A strange mix of decor, but pleasant enough. Staff were polite. All areas were clean. Meat was plentiful. A mix of veg including sweetcorn (not a traditional roast dinner veg). The food was OK, but not wow! Veg needed seasoning, roast potatoes were white with some Roasted edges. Gravy was tasteless. Our first visit......and last. Would rather pay more for a better quality dining experience

Family meal for my wife’s birthday.Wife ,Mother in law,daughter and myself all enjoyed our meals.wife and Mil had carvery and thoroughly enjoyed it my daughter had the Burger which was big with very tasty chips and I had Lamb Kebab which I thought was really tasty. And thought was a good size and loved the chips .Service was very good and best of all the Menu choice and prices were very good. Will definitely be visiting again as very good value for money and in very nice decor. Well worth a visit.Parking can be an issue if you don’t get there early .

Was highly recommended by lots of friends for the past few years.... sadly very disappointed. The veg were tastless and the meat although melt in your mouth had little taste . Your staff are lovely and polite in the bar area but literally took trays away as you put your hands on the spoon to serve vegetables. Can isuggest putting the roast potatoes before the other veg as literally ran out of room for these..although again they had no taste. This was my mother's day meal as daughter away next weekend and sadly left us both disappointed.

Great place to dine. First visited the Forge about 30years ago What a transformation all for the better. We all had the carvery big portions of meats and of course help yourself to veg. Will definitely be returning

Took friends for a carvery today and couldn't believe that builders were working, using drills ,electric sanders etc and on view while we were eating just 6 feet away. It's completely unacceptable to not have the developing area partitioned off from the main eating area. The food is always good but our time with our friends was completely spoilt by the noise and disturbance. The staff seemed oblivious to it.

It seems that our experience was nothing like everyone else’s. The service wasn’t that friendly, the food wasn’t up to the standard for the cost. Fantastic value for money. I can't quite believe they can produce such a fantastic Carvery for the price. Good beer range with competitive prices. Very friendly and professional staff certainly pull back the customers time and again.

The Roast was great, I’m not a vegetarian or vegan but there were no options for me to have any kind of dessert so we all left. I’m lactose intolerant, really quite poor in this day and age but roast really was great.

Do not be put off by the building work going on outside. This place is amazing! Hugh carvery with lots to choose from. Food quality was amazing. Price was amazing for what we received. Lovely and clean . The female toilets were outstanding! So clean and just perfect, never been to anywhere which had a bathroom so clean. When we come up country again, will definitely come back.

We had a great carvery lunch with friends. You walk in and you are hit by the beauty of the Turkish lights hanging and a nice busy atmosphere. We found the staff friendly and attentive. The carvery is great value, if we lived nearer we all said we wouldn't cook a roast again!

What an amazing Sunday roast - the choice of meat and vegetables were fantastic. Worst carvery and staff in the area. Very low quality food with staff that that throw plates around. Wouldn’t recommend to anyone that likes to eat, drink lively beer or be spoken to politely. The staff were awful, no one cared and were extremely rude. The food was dry and cold, had been on the buffet way too long. Never ever visit, waste of time and money. P.s: the pints are flat too!
