Had a wonderful and relaxing time at the Firestation Cafe today. The Owner Jake is a wonderful man and always makes you feel welcomed and relaxed. I decided to enjoy some coffee ☕️ and dinner and it was delicious 🤤…… Cooked to perfection! I ordered the Cajun Chicken which is one of my favourites on the menu.Very Tasty and Satisfying……. Thank you Jake & Lauren for the welcome today, for your hospitality😃 and the delicious food.

We stumbled across this lovely little restaurant whilst staying at The Lion. We had intended to eat at the pub but it was crowded and very noisy. This place is great. Beer on tap, good selection of wine by the glass or bottle and a decent menu. Service was excellent and the food was delicious. Couldn’t fault it. Just such a shame that it was so quiet on a Saturday evening. It needed more business to give it a bit of a buzz. So go and try it out! Highly recommend.

Great welcome - friendly efficient staff - well cooked fresh food. Menu is standard brasserie fare with some interesting twists - we were all starving and thoroughly enjoyed our meal . Excellent haddock and chips, lovely chicken burger (full chicken breast) and flavourful risotto.

Loved the vibe of this lovely cafe bar! The menu was plenty large enough with lots of choice both for food and drinks. The staff were really friendly and the food was ample and delicious. This is definitely a place to go and enjoy some good food and have a nice drink.

Staff were polite, food is great (quite pricey) but they won't let you leave your bike outside the front of the cafe. The options are to leave it out of view a little further down the road or across the road. The reason being is that if they have lots of cyclists leaving their bikes out front, they can't then use the outdoor tables. Today, it was snowing! It was an absolute nonsense. We had to leave our bikes at the rear of another shop. I won't be going back and would recommend all cyclists to go somewhere else.

However the attitude of the owner was demeaning and of someone who puts profits above service. To set the scene it is a cold grey Saturday afternoon threatening rain. Nobody sat outside and a couple of customer inside. We arrive on cycles looking forward to refreshments, expensive road bikes I might add.We place our bikes outside under the window where we can see them. Always concerned on a main road how easily someone could pull up and whip away our pride and joy. On leaving the premises the owner approached us and explained politely but insistently that we are not to leave our bikes in front of the property as other customers couldn’t use the furniture. Now as it was cold threatening rain and nobody likely to sit outside it seemed a little futile and more about making his point. My advice to cyclists and I will be making this to our club is not to frequent this establishment should you wish to keep an eye on your bike. Come the summer and you can sit outside, placing your bike against the building next door as suggested would be fine. But as much as the owner wanted to preach his point, I also would like him to think about his attitude. Cyclists are an excellent revenue stream, it would make sense to welcome and facilitate them going forward.Perhaps he may consider a sign saying please do not place cycles here, this may put some cyclist off but avoid confrontation. Or maybe install a camera or bike rack to make cyclists feel a little more at ease. PS the 2 stars on the service was purely the management, not the hard working, polite staff.

Called in for lunch. Really impressed. Extensive menu and selection of quality, freshly prepared food. Fantastic service and atmosphere. Keen to return when next in the area.

We popped in here while staying in malpas and it was absolutely fabulous! I had apple and parsnip soup which I was unsure how it would be but it was delicious! The atmosphere was lovely and staff were amazing and friendly. We also participated in the Christmas quiz which was so fun! Highly recommend

We visited here for the first time a few weeks ago and we were happy with our brunch. The service was friendly, and the value for money was reasonable too (4x brunch dishes, plus 6x hot drinks approx £15 per person). The Full English / Full Vegetarian were top notch, with good quality ingredients. Overall we had a nice experience and we will visit again to try out new dishes.

There's an excellent Tapas menu and it's very good value. Excellent service too and it's easy to park!

Very welcoming cosy place, popped in at lunchtime after a walk and then back for an evening meal. The staff were great, really attentive and professional. The cajun chicken was delicious, very succulent. Highly recommend.

A REALLY weird one here. As I was dismounting my bicycle by the door to the cafe, the proprietor came outside and told me to leave it in front of the laundrette across the lobbyroad, with some vague explanation that I'd be able to keep an eye on it there. Which I could, until a large van parked in front of it. My bike cost over £3000 and as I've had two other expensive bikes stolen, I was understandably anxious whilst rushing my food to retrieve it. The thing is, I would have felt a lot more relaxed if it had been left under the window, and it would have been easily visible from inside the cafe anyway. I feel that the disingenuous guy that runs the place has a snobbery that finds bicycles incompatible with his aspirations for his venue. Also, the coffee was dire. I ordered a flat white, which was double the size and half the strength of any other flat white I've had before, with lukewarm untextured milk. You're paying Starbucks/Nero's prices for the equivalent of granny's milky instant coffee. On a positive note, the cafe is aesthetically pleasing both inside and out and the young waitress that served me was extremely polite and lovely.

This was our second visit recently ……very welcome and friendly greeting by the owner …..coffee arrived quickly and our brekkie wasn’t far behind !! Atmosphere was awesome and the cafe became very busy shortly after we arrived !!, definitely worth a visit if you are in the area !!!

We came for coffee (having visited the church which is stunning) and were impressed by the friendly atmosphere and welcome. We were lured back for dinner and the Wednesday Quiz. We had an enjoyable meal at fair prices (the steak pie was the star), the staff a delight and the quiz great fun. In fact we were so impressed we decided to end our holiday with an excellent slap-up breakfast! We just wish we lived closer.

Went here last week with my husband for our Anniversary meal. Absolutely delicious!! Husband had steak, he said it was perfect! I had tapas, the 3 selection! So so tasty 😋!! Now we live in the village amd can walk, we will absolutely be going back!

A lovely early evening meal, I had tapas (5) and my wife had Cajun chicken. Both meals were excellent. Good value for money.

Visited after recommendation from family member, but wish we hadn't bothered. Average cooked breakfast - not value for money. Had to wait a long time for it to be served and our coffees had gone cold by the time it was served and then an apology for the wait and query if the eggs on the Eggs Benedict were overcooked to let them know. Well we didn't fancy waiting again so I ate them anyway. We were asked when paying if everything was OK and explained eggs were overcooked but we couldn't wait for fresh ones to be cooked and the waitress's explanation that they'd run out of muffins so had to go out to buy more! Having worked in catering and in my experience if something may not be up to standard then it shouldn't be sent out to the customer!! No offer of discount for this and won't be going again. We'll go back to the Little Deli where the food is always amazing on our next visit.

Called recently for breakfast whilst out cycling. We had a large and a standard English , both beautifully cooked and served and really tasty. Certainly set us up for some more miles on the tandem. Also lovely just for a coffee stop

Fantastico! Wonderfully fresh and tasty food and charismatic service. I had the tapas this evening, which is excellent value and delicious too. It was accompanied by large glass of Sauvignon Blanc followed by a warming fresh coffee. I’m addicted to these! I’ve had a beautiful evening ….. I’d definitely recommend a night out here.

Lovely little cafe with outside seating. I had homemade carrot cake and my partner had pork and leek sausage batch which were top notch, really enjoyed this quirky experience

A really lovely cafe bar. We spotted The Old Fire Station whilst driving into Malpas on our way to a nearby campsite, and made sure we found time to call in during our stay. We visited for brunch on our way home and we're very glad we did because it was delicious. We sat outside for brunch with our dog on a sunny day, and enjoyed flat whites and the delux hot chocolate, followed by pancakes and a big (full English) breakfast. All the food was fresh and well cooked, service was friendly and we were pleasantly surprised to receive full table service whilst sat outside. Inside looked lovely too. There was a water bowl outside for our dog. We will definitely return next time we're in the area, hopefully later in the day to try the cocktails.

Visited this cafe after a recommendation from a friend. The staff were very nice and helpful. Food was hot and generous servings. Looking around there was quiz nights on offer for everyone to join in. Looks like this is used by the locals. Will definitely call again very soon.

The Old Fire Station is great. I’ve stopped in many times. The food is always good, not over complicated. Breakfast, mains, deserts. I’ve never had anything bad there. The staff are lovely and it’s a nice quirky building. I don’t live locally but often detour if I’m passing on the A41, It’s always worth it.

really nice place. beautifully decorated but unfortunately the coffee was undrinkable. ordered 2 flat whites. so bitter we had to throw them away.

A bit pricey, but always a good atmosphere and good food here!! It is a Tapas Bar type place, but it also does main course meals, which are OK.

Having moved to the area last year, we were eager to try out the small number of dining places in Malpas village. The old fire station has become the only place we still visit regularly as unlike other places in the village, the quality and service is always 100%. My favourite is the breakfasts which are always perfectly cooked and the choice is amazing.

Went for brunch. Everything was spot on from raking our order, the service, cleanliness and atmosphere.

Really good bunch last weekend- steak & eggs. Will return to try the chorizo dish, sounds amazing. Good service too.

Delicious food and the service was pretty decent. Quite a unique place where we enjoyed our lunch.

Ordered two steak and ale pie dinners for take away. One of the best pies. Very tender meat and the pastry was nice and flaky. All around flavorful meal. Since it was take away, chef even came out to share how meal was packed. Highly recommend this nice gem.

Popped in this morning for breakfast. Wasn’t going to stay as it seemed quite busy with cyclists however I’m glad I did. Had the full English but asked for poached eggs. All came out absolutely spot on. Faultless.

Popped in for breakfast with my daughter in law on Thursday morning. The place was busy which is always a good sign. We had a delicious breakfast and an excellent cappuccino. I am very particular about my coffee and this one was good. We had a two year old with us and she was looked after beautifully. We have our own cafe and I know how difficult it is to keep a good service going constantly. Breakfasts are particularly tricky with all the different fads but ours was really well cooked and very tasty. I totally disagree with any negative comments about this place and will definitely be returning.

Visited again this morning to yet again be served a poor breakfast. This has to be the fifth time now that a cafe which serves breakfasts are unable to poach an egg. The fact the chefs let food be served to this standard is shocking especially with the prices they charge. It was nearly an hour before my food was served of which I was then given the same food which had just been sat under the hot plate and was all dried up. I will not be returning !!

Lovely food found it quite expensive but clean and most staff are pleasant , found a young female member of staff a little funny and not in the laughing sense but all in all not a bad visit

Lovely place for a great lunch. Really friendly service, an excellent ham, egg and chips, a really tasty veggie burger and great tea and coffee. Wish we'd had room for pudding.

Lovely food but prices are on the high side

Definitely no longer cyclist friendly, a group of us stopped for coffee and cake, we wanted to sit outside and leave our bikes close to us, but were told we had to lean our bikes against the neighbouring property and no where near the cafe. The bikes did not block passage to the cafe or take up any seating area, we actually took up all the outside seating anyway, and staff were surly and had faces like thunder, made us feel very unwelcome.

Fast service. Good food for cyclists. Outside seating was good. Recommended

Sadly non cyclist friendly any more. Used to be able to leave bikes out front so you could see them whilst in the cafe. Told to move them today. Nowhere safe to leave them so went to Lockgate Cafe instead.

Enjoyed lovely full English. Excellent ingredients and well worth the wait. Pancakes, egg and bacon also excellent. Minor point: couple of eggs had a little bit of unset white but so minor cannot affect the overall rating.

Awesome All Day Breakfasts served including vegetarian options. Wednesday nights are Burger Nights - there are great options available including wagu. The Specials Board has something delectable to cater to all palates. Good, friendly service and the selection of homemade cakes aren't too shabby either.

Lovely little place. Nice for a coffee stop but a little limited on cake choice when we went. It is also licensed and serves tapas and meals. The menu looks good but haven't tried it for this... yet.

Pleasant and bustling place. Polite and attentive staff. My hot chocolate could have been a bit hotter though.

Awesome freshly cooked food and brilliant service as always by Jake and his team. A pleasure to visit here regularly for a good meal. Wifi on site too and the option to sit outside under cover or inside. Toilets not suitable for wheelchair users as they are upstairs.

Excellent place for a catch up with friends over a coffee the food is very good go early the place opens at 10am and fills up very quickly.
