Brilliant service and wonderful food. I'd go as far as to say one of the best apple crumbles I've ever eaten.

Brilliant food and amazing luxurious comfy seats would defanately reccomend food price between £5-£20 the double spicy chicken burger is amazing would reccomend!!!

Lovely pub really nice atmosphere and very friendly , went for Christmas Dinner with 10 work friends and every part of it was lovely, each starter main and dessert was served hot and really good quality, had a lovely evening.

Great staff, very friendly and attentive. The meals were very tasty and well presented. The specials were very generously portioned and reasonably priced at £10-£11. Good location and plenty available parking. Some of the regulars were a bit boisterous but seemed friendly enough.

Don't go out to pubs often but this is my go to place

Never had a bad steak 🥩 from here always 💯 cooked to perfection 👌 can't say that about any other food pubs locally and defo beats all the chain pubs . And I love my steak..... so I'm a good judge lol 😂

Went in at 9.45 on a Saturday night only 6 people in the whole pub !

In the trade myself I recognise good service and the rest . Two ladies behind the bar Busy , attentive and great personalities. Clearly enjoying their craft and interacting with all customers.. Prices and quality of beer excellent . If all pubs were like this you wouldn’t drink at home . Although I live locally (moved here a year ago ) Don’t often call in Will spend more time in this warm company

Fabulous place, food and staff.

Was Airbnbin in Clayton and needed a lunch option. Recommend the tapas menu if there are a few of you as it's good value. Mains wise, the halloumi burger with hand cut chips is a good choice and I'd recommend the cheesy garlic bread as a side! (See photos) Friendly staff and well sign posted along the main road. If I'm ever in the area again it's somewhere I'd visit again and good WiFi provisions.

So affordable, which makes a real difference in This financial climate. Dog friendly and amazing chips! The staff are very friendly, the only thing what would have made the experience better was a bit of music. Nevertheless will return!

Not too busy, so table service with an amazing variety of bespoke meals. Certainly not a pub-chain. Reasonable prices and a rare real ale in Golden Pippen. Not what you would expect from a village pub, with a lot of competition in the area. Superb place . Order "proper chips!' Lol

Food's delicious, home cooked chips are perfect. We can recommend the Cajun chicken with new potatoes and the Peri mayo chicken wrap with chips. Great beer garden too.

Great selection of food on the menu. Pub visit was during a football match. Good service and thoroughly enjoyed the food. Although was expecting chicken slices cut from a roast. What I received seems to be scraps of leftover roast chicken. Little bit disappointed but will definitely visit again.

It's was a lovely Sunday Dinner will be going again. May 85 year old mum loved it too and finish all her Dinner

Brought my aunt for a bite to eat, she's fallen in love with with the place, food and staff. It was so nice to see how they'd adapted to all things Covid-19 related, I especially liked the one way system in/out and the great table service from the fab friendly staff. I previously eaten here a couple of weeks before and had the best salmon dish I've ever eaten out, so opted for a chicken dish which was lovely with really great chips. Definitely worth a visit, I'm taking my aunt again!

22 of us ( including 4 children ) celebrated a birthday with a variety of meals and we all had a lovely time. The food was very nice, tasty, but the service was excellent. We were all served virtually at the same time, no mean achievement, and Michelle & her team seemed very well organised. The Old Dolphin is a 300 years old public house which serves not expensive, tasty meals and has a nice selection of drinks on offer. The Timothy Taylors Landlord bitter went down very well! Some of us stayed for the quiz afterwards. Had a really good evening & the Old Dolphin is well worth a visit if you are in the area.

Booked at short notice but from first phone call to leaving at the end the day we were dealt with in a professional and competent manner. Nothing was too much trouble, the buffet was extremely good value for money. Everything was fresh and tasty. We were afforded the resturant area for as long as we needed it and as we were a small group was lovely as we could all sit together and have a good chat. Would recommend this venue and thanks to all the team for their efforts.

Got there after a recommendation from a friend. As soon as we got to the bar the local ‘knobs’ started singing Lola by the kinks. Surprised they had the intelligence to remember the song 🙃🙃🙃 we had a drink then went to the bar to order another round and the same guys showed their true intelligence by singing the same song - really get a life I would say boys but that is too complimentary so again knob heads come to mind. We are the better ones as we didn’t say anything or retaliate to your low intelligence and have come away feeling good about our 30 & 36 year relationships and you 3 are still stood at the end of the bar with no partner between you.

A friendly local that produces home cooked food of a good quality. We had a vegetarian lasagne made with butternut squash which came with a balsamic dressed side salad and garlic bread. It arrived piping hot and an ample portion which together with a large glass of wine for 2 people was £21.00 Great value for money and in a quiet dining room with the odd shout for the World Cup football goals being shown in the bar area. This was an old coaching inn and does not look much from the outside, but the food provided an excellent meal in the evening
