A nice place to visit early week in the evening they have a quiz on a Tuesday that’s free to enter and free food for customers.Friendly staff made me feel welcome even halfway through the quiz and let me have some food

Popped in for new years eve with friend's for a drink or two and a chat,but unfortunately someone's decided to ramp up the music.So we could here are selves talk,so if you want to come here and relax,give it a miss.Shame really it can be a nice pub without the music pumping out.🤔.

We often use this pub to meet up with friends before moving on to eat in Ripley. The surroundings aren’t the most stylish but the place is welcoming, the prices are very reasonable and most importantly, you are served quickly by the friendly staff behind the bar. A refreshing change from the frustrations of the nearby Wetherspoons!

Nice pub one of the best in Ripley ,clean and friendly,love the old films they put on.Reasonably priced drinks, just one problem the welcoming smell of the toilets as you walk in.

Often call here when out with friends. Good choice of drinks,realistically priced. Very friendly good service. Have artistes about once a month on Wednesdays very good.

Dropped in The Old Cock Inn for a lunchtime drink while in Ripley. A relaxed atmosphere, some decent ales and helpful staff. Overall a decent pub. Will have to go back when live music is on.

Came here for a private function for a hen party, had a fantastic time, staff were super friendly, room needs some modernization and more lighting which they have mentioned they are updating. Great fun had by all. Parking to the rear of the pub.

I've been here quite a few times and I love what they've done with the place, the drinks are nice and made quickly, don't often have to wait around for your drinks but for some reason it's always red-hot in there and me and my friends end up leaving after a bit because we cant hack it

Called for a "quick" drink on a sat evening and was quite impressed by the place overall, nice surroundings good selection of beers and not overpriced. will visit again

Considerably poor experienced from my last visit!! Called in for a hot chocolate with a friend to be told the machine wasn't working so we had a soft drink... only to watch the staff make themselves drinks using the machine, the management clearly need to get to grips with the appalling attitude and laziness of the staff

We only ever go to the Cock for either the Tuesday quiz or for a drink before a night out and what ever the reason the service is always good. I think the Cock offers the best pub quiz in the area, highly recommend!

Met with friends for a quiz night in a pub I have not visited before : This is a great traditional pub with a very comfortable atmosphere .The selection of real ales has one or two for everyone's taste. The Hobgoblin was perfection. A loyalty card was offered with the first round that can very soon be filled allowing the owner one free pint. The Staff were friendly and welcoming . The quiz was under a great format with various components coming together to make a great night. We will definitely be coming back.

Came in here for a quick pint while on way to hotel. Staff very friendly and the beer was very good. Was given a loyalty card, so may very well be back!

Drink prices are really cheap and the bar staff are lovely, free sandwiches are also handed out and they have a variety of ciders, real ales, spirits and lagers. They also sell a wide variety of food and hot drink from chocolate to crisps and tea to hot chocolate. The hot drinks are also really cheap as none are over £1!! This is now my regular pub as I haven't found one with such a calm atmosphere and they also let dogs in and provide free water for your dogs.

Ok so if you track my reviews you into my gripe re pubs putting on lots of real ales without selling enough of each to maintain overall quality. Pub itself ok just but please just have one beer bad do it well.

A great old fashioned pub that also serves reasonably priced hot and soft drinks. They hold frequent events and music nights. The staff are very friendly and the atmosphere is welcoming. The pub also serves light meals and free sandwiches are offered at various times during the day. Can get busy but there is also an outside heated seating and smoking area. It is located in a central shopping area so easy to get to.

Had A Lovley Cappachino and only paid 79p and it was in a lovley coffee cup and then the husband and i had a Big Hot Chocolate in a tall glass cup finished off with cream and marshmallows and the price was only 99p, Lady serving behide the bar also going round with trays of sandwiches thought was lovley thought very friendly pub and a warm homely clean pub wish i lived near a pub like the OLD COCK RIPLEY. :-)

Recently refurbished and decent decor bit of a night club atmosphere. Seems to attract the dregs of Ripley society full of dhs scroungers

This place has been nicely refurbished with a bit of character,has a great selection of well kept,decent priced drinks,and good bar service.

Popped in here with some friends on Saturday 9th before going for an Indian. The drinks we ordered were quite cheap considering we were in a town. The service however leaves a little to be desired... While I can appreciate it was quite busy at the bar, the young short girl was extremely rude and abrupt to a couple that we was stood next to and actually swore at the male of the couple. The upside to this visit was the tall blond lady behind the bar, not once did I notice her smile fall and she seemed like she loves where she works which is rare to find in most bar staff... Such a shame about the other persons attitude towards customers and foul language, you can expect it from the people out drinking and having a good time in a pub but not from the staff!

called here today with the family for a cup of tea and coffee as outside it said all hot drinks 49 pence. the teas were all served in separate teapots with jug of milk and my cappuccino was lovely. then we were brought free sandwiches, all for 49 pence. i cant recommend the old cock inn highly enough. staff are so friendly. we will definitely be returning
