Alex ryan was absolutely amazing good guy so helpful and got my mate who had a fair feww to drink some water the legend

A nice pub with sports on the TV, a good selection of all kinds of drinks, and plenty of space for groups of all sizes to enjoy. I didn’t have the food myself but friends have, and they said it is simple, filling and tasty pub food. Would definitely recommend to get away from the busy streets of York.

Messed up two orders and had to be sent back and then took an hour to change the order. P.S the third attempt on the order was still wrong. P.P.S a waiter stepped on my foot.

Agradable pub espacioso, menú de aspecto decente y un montón en marcha, pero la comida no era genial, la hamburguesa estaba a un paso de McDonalds, pero solo justo y las patatas fritas eran bastante... flácidas. No fue desagradable, solo decepcionante. También el gerente fue bastante corto conmigo. No grosero, solo corto cuando me atreví a pedir algo que estaba en el menú pero que no me ofrecieron (Strongbow).

Nice pub, good atmosphere and range of drinks. Order some chips off the app. £3.49 isn't a lot in the grand scheme of things but i added 5% on for service too. Sat outside and watched the football and nothing arrived. Tried emailing but it bounced back as unsent. You live and learn. Maccys is around the corner.

The food was awful. The toast was overdone, and I got 1 spoon full of beans with my breakfast, and the service was atrocious, which took 25 min for our breakfast to be served.

Been here on my last 2 visits to York and is now my go to place! Excellent food and really good value, staff are always friendly and helpful and the place itself is always clean with a brilliant atmosphere. Even when busy you never feel crowded. Highly recommend it

Good atmosphere and music, buzzing at times. Food nice but could be a little more with regard to the portion size. Board games available for use and fun

We went for a few games of pool and a few pints. And this was perfect

Love this place... Great for footy, meeting a group or just a chilled beer on your own. Very friendly staff too, especially if you take a dog with you.

Muy delicioso desayuno tradicional, uno de los mejores que he tenido. Fue durante la época de Halloween y el pub tenía decoraciones encantadoras, muy detalladas y con estilo. Gran lugar con un ambiente acogedor, ligeramente industrial. Me despegué 1 estrella porque aunque era una mañana tranquila, tuvimos que esperar un rato hasta que nos trajeron el desayuno, pensamos que podríamos haber sido olvidados, aparte de eso, todo lo demás fue agradable.

A great vibe in the centre of York, whether you choose to visit for a steady few drinks with your other half or you’re calling in for a night out with the lads. A great selection of beverages and these are well kept too! Thumbs up from me 👍🏻

We came here after looking at reviews but we got there they had no chicken goujons for the kids , no fries , no pizzas , they said they couldn’t do absolut vodka on the drinks deal with burgers , was really let down really . Also couldn’t use 40% discount code for the food as we had the burger / drinks deal which wasn’t on the t&cs

Really good-sized pub, downstairs has pool tables. Darts and an outdoor seating area, too. Great selection of drinks and modern music playing thru the sound system. There are lots of tv screens, including a huge projection screen. Getting served was a little slow at times simply because not enough staff working.

Food was small portions and not as good as it was advertised. Not worth the money. Pudding was cold when it finally came out and when we asked for a replacement they came out tepid. Not great service either. Staff generally ignored us and didn't check if everything was okay with us once. Avoid.

We have been to this pub previously but on this visit the service wasn't good and the food was awful. No chips to have with the meal so charged us extra for waffle fries even though we were paying for the chips in the deal? Once ordered ...then told us it would be a 25 minute wait! It took 35mins after asking how long! Jackets were hard and the chicken goujons were cold and bread stale 😔

Great service from the gentleman behind the bar and really love the atmosphere in this place. We only had drinks today but the menu looked comprehensive and the food we saw looked very good so we will be returning to eat in the near future.

The bouncers let me in then the bar lady said my id is fake and took me to the bouncers who proceeded to snap my id. It’s my real id lol which I now have to get replaced

Awful place. It was my friend’s 21st birthday and we were not allowed to sing karaoke. The man running karaoke was unkind.

Nice meals good selection had steak and ale pie and my wife had tia vegatable curry both very tasty meals staff friendly and welcoming would recommend

I took a group of language students here tonight to watch the Liverpool vs Real Madrid game, and we had an absolutely wonderful time. The venue was top-notch, spacious, and set up perfectly for an enjoyable sporting event. The atmosphere was electric with just the right mix of energy and comfort, making it a fantastic place to enjoy a match. The staff were incredibly welcoming and attentive, making sure everything ran smoothly for our group. Special thanks to the manager Lewis, who went above and beyond to ensure we were well taken care of. His friendly demeanor and excellent service truly made the evening even better. I cannot recommend this sports bar highly enough to anyone looking for a great spot to catch a game. I will definitely be visiting again soon.

Here for live sports and beers. The place was very crowded initially as they were hosting an event but the mood settled later in the evening.

We arrived around 11 and ordered breakfast items for 4 adults. The pub was quiet and there was plenty of different seating arrangements to choose from. We didn't have to wait long for food either. Service was great as was the food. Only fault we had was that some of the drinks glasses were a fair bit worn and scratched.

The staff were lovely and helpful going above and beyond. The atmosphere was calm and quiet with light music with such lovely autumn decorations. They were sadly out of regular fries however they're waffle fries were crisp and fluffy. Pricing seems standard market price for the time.

Cannot be faulted. A solid, consistent pub. Nothing fancy but does the job at regular prices. Spacious inside with a beer garden.

The presence of emperor max once i walked in made my nightly visit to The Old Bank York all the more better. Max’s aura is nigh-omnipresent and my pub experience would not be the same without him. The sharp, succinct and supremely effective service of Jodie and Jess respectively only served to accentuate this experience and further mythologise my experience at this centurion of a pub. Max is truly a sight to behold, his pulchritudinous features have truly illuminated my night and healed my marriage with my wife. I will be visiting again

I dream about the spicy waffle fries no word of a lie

Ordered a coke on the app. The glass was completely full of ice and a very small amount of coke. As if I could have some more coke added to my drink as I had finished it in a few minutes. The lady behind the bar was very uninterested in my disappointment and wasn’t bothered and said I’d have to pay for another coke and just have less ice. Unbelievable attitude. Very unprofessional attitude behind the bar.

Always have a great time at Old Bank, service is quick and the beer garden is massive! The staff are also great and Max especially is super friendly and accommodating, always going above and beyond. Definitely worth a visit!!

The place itself is great. What really annoyed me was getting IDd 5 times by the same person. How do you realise I'd been served when I've been in front of the bar for 4 hours.

The Old Bank in York is an utter disappointment. While the decor might fool you with its charm, the experience quickly goes downhill. We were lied to about the availability of gammon by an incompetent waiter, and instead, we got disgusting, grease-soaked fish and chips. The pub is filthy, with revoltingly sticky floors that scream neglect and poor hygiene. And to add insult to injury, the waitress was shockingly rude and insincere, making us feel completely unwelcome. Avoid The Old Bank at all costs. It's a disgrace to the concept of a family-friendly pub.

Awesome place to chill out and shoot some pool and have a good time also a great bar with great service too (max is awesome) shame there is one bouncer that seems to think he owns the place but avoid him and get a game going

Absolutely shocking service..17/7/2024 time for cctv about 10.30am Young woman to busy gossiping to only two people in the place to take our order Asked twice if they was open.. "Yeah" Walked around to try and get served elsewhere not even an acknowledgement or any sign of polite service e... No wonder it was empty. In a busy place like York. Problem here.. Staff 17

Food was really basic. Place was full of 17 year olds on gear. England got beat

Good food. 2 for 1 on cocktails. They have an app to order food with but the way it works means you don't get the discounts so need to to to the bar. Lots of seats.

Wide wheelchair entrance, mostly on the level inside. Different designs of. Wooden floors throughout. Quite spacious, nice tables and chairs but a mix match. Usual tap beers and a few real ales available. Quite light and airy. A few TVs on the walls showing sport. Staff were friendly and polite. Families welcome. Beer was good. Enjoyed my visit.

Staying in York for a month and had to come back to this same bar. At first i was served by amelia who made the visit so welcoming and because of her my friends and i had to come back. The atmosphere is amazing and so inviting. Definitely recommend

I recently visited The Old Bank and had an unforgettable experience. The atmosphere was warm and electric.. The bar staff, especially Abby and Amelia, were phenomenal. Abby greeted me with an infectious smile and gave outstanding service. . Pub was busy and yet the atmosphere remained inviting and the service was impeccable. Making everyone feel welcome and thoroughly cared for, Abby and Amelia continued to shine. I would say that The Old Bank is a must-visit for anyone seeking a remarkable night out with stellar service and an extraordinary atmosphere. Highly recommended!

Food was delicious! G was a great waitress, really fun and easy to speak to and had great knowledge of the current menu.

Always come here for a wind down after work, never anything wrong with this place. The perfect spot for a chill and good time. Always my go to. Constantly recommend this place when others ask where to go for a drink :) 100/10
