I called I here whilst exploring the town. I enjoyed coffee and cake and also enjoyed the chat with staff who were keen and happy to tell me about their town and it's contents and history. I felt that maybe it was missing a trick regarding decor, and it could be 'made a bit prettier with table cloths and dressings, and a better display of cakes, which are indeed rather special. But super staff and a nice place to take a bit of time out

A very pleasing lunchtime meal which was competitively priced without the government eat out programme . But with ,was exceptional value for money . We called in for a refuelling elevenses stop when cycling through Chatteris and what a great find this tea room was. There is a good selection of lovely looking and very inviting cakes to choose from and we each chose a different one which we took with a cup of coffee. Service was friendly and efficient and our cake and coffee was served to us on an outside table where we sat and enjoyed the sunshine. This tea room will be our stop of choice when passing through again.

BEWARE the small print! Visited the cafe for Sunday Lunch. The food was simple - peas carrots and cauliflower cheese, with frozen Yorkshires and sliced meat....BUT the worst of it was when we came to pay - the menu said the two/three course meal came with tea/coffee, but when we came to handover the monies, we were charged for the hot drinks - it seems we didn't order the tea and coffee that was included in the set menu!! So beware - and ask for the free tea and coffee!

We have been eating/drinking here since it opened. Has a good menu choice, that is great value for money. Caters for vegetarian and gluten free diets. Great English breakfast. Delicious desserts. Staff are always friendly and welcoming. Definitely worth a visit, even if it’s only for a cup of coffee or hot chocolate.

Only small but pleasantly decorated with lilac walls and nice wooden tables. Spotlessly clean and very tidy, although the outside tables might be more appropriate to the south of France rather than Chatteris but probably very pleasant on a sunny day. The table service and quite atmosphere gives this cafe an old fashioned feel. It is a little too quite for me. Some background music of an appropriate kind may give a more relaxed feel and make other peoples’ conversation a little less public.

Dropped in for a coffee and decided to have a snack at the same time. I had a bacon baguette and the wife a toasted cheddar cheese sandwich, followed by 2 cappuccinos. Food was excellent an coffee good. Prices were reasonable at £7.60 the lot. Everything was very clean; if you use the toilet you can see right into the kitchen, everything was spotless.

We have only ever popped into this charming cafe for a quick snack at lunchtime. There is an excellent sandwich menu, with light snacks available, including homemade soup and there is also a lunch menu with more substancial fare on offer, all homemade and cooked on the premises. It is a popular spot with loyal, local customers, some of whom turn up daily to enjoy a hearty lunch at a very reasonable price. I have to say we have never been disapointed with the quality of the food available and we will be popping back to enjoy a Sunday lunch one of these days. The homemade cakes look yummy and my husband was delighted with his apple pie and custard. If you are in Chatteris and looking for a bite to eat, pop in and try it for yourself. This is an old fashioned cafe /restaurant serving tasty meals at a very reasonable price.

So lovely.....it's not what you expect from looking at the place from the outside (the name is not easily noticeable either from the road!), but once you enter the quaint little establishment, and see what's before you, you can clearly see just why this place has had so many positive reviews. A great atmosphere, very homely, and twee. Had a 2xcourse meal along with my lovely friend, and my daughter enjoyed a "half portion" of nibbles (as she wasn't feeling particularly brilliant anyway), and along with drinks came to under £15. Well chuffed. Will be back without a doubt. Being on the main road through Chatteris, I think it would be a little hard to park some days, however, not a problem today as I parked down one of the side roads. Lovely people and environment, great to see something so quaint in a little town like Chatteris.

I booked a table for 2 for lunch during the week to meet a friend - neither of us knew Chatteris and I found this 'restaurant' online. When we arrived there wasn't a table available - not surprising as they can only seat about 12 people. They shouldn't have said they could do this if it wasn't possible. Also, the menu looked very limited and it is really only a cafe - not a restaurant. We went elsewhere. I'm sure it's fine for a cuppa - but not somewhere for a meal!

We visited my Mum in a care home in a Chatteris and needed to look for somewhere to have lunch. We looked in at the Old Bakery and thought we would give it a try. So glad we did the restaurant is very small but the welcome from the friendly staff was enormous. We have been several times now and we are working out way through the menu everything we have had is homely freshly cooked food. They do anything from sandwiches to roast dinners ,starters to deserts(while on deserts their Bread and Butter pudding is wonderful). You should book if you can as it only seats about 24 and because the price is really reasonable the locals go in most days for lunch.Do give this a try if you are in the area you won't be disappointed .

The tea room has the friendliest staff and whether you visit for lunch or for dinner on their occasional bistro evenings you will not be disappointed. The food is freshly cooked and delicious. Lots to choose from at lunch time ranging from traditional BLTs to chilli wraps or omlettes. Bistro dinners are more fancy and are a real treat -scallops and gnocchi -my favourite. The tea room is small and perfectly formed. The building oozes history but has a fresh clean and welcoming interior. Closed on Mondays. Great place to hear all the local news. A fen jewel.

Went with family and friends. Sunday roast was decent, lovely lamb, beef and chicken. Massive Yorkshire’s with loads of gravy with more offered. Scent roast potatoes which is always good at a pub and decent fresh cooked veg. Even the Brussels sprouts were good which was excellent. Staff generally very friendly, manageress seemed faulty stern but clearly runs a tight ship. Prices competitive. Difference between this and 5 stars is nothing to do with food and service. Down to fact that if you have a baby or toddler the changing facilities are less than basic! Something they really could do with sorting.

If you want good pub grub then The food in this place is better than anywhere in the local area! A month ago my wife and I decided to try the food after the pub changing hands. We had the burgers 🍔 and the dirty fries 🍟 we have been residents of Coates village for 30 years and both grew up in Whittlesey. What you get here is the only thing within 40 miles that would rival anything decent burger and fries from London (I mean, American style)! I’ve severed some hi end establishments over my time with meat as I was a butchery manager that worked for jimmy Doherty (Jamie Oliver’s mate) for a number of years and I’m ecstatic that I have this 200m up the road! The service was spot too!! Hats off too chef at the vine!! This guy know what he is doing 🎩👍🍔🍟
