Lovely food! We had scampi, cheeseburger. Panini and Al enjoyed ours. Very reasonable prices on food and drinks, 20% off with a £25 discount card which is great if you are planning on visiting more than once or have a large group. Great, fast service. Lovely beer garden!

Pub no6 of the pub crawl. Good drinks selection & gets a star just for views alone. Good for dogs and great outdoor seating area

What can I say, never again would I eat in here again, ordered ocean stacker burger and chips , stale roll , with handful of chips, shocking feeling a bit under the weather after eating that crap, wasn’t even cheap, don’t bother eating here 😞

I left a glowing review back in 2015 when it was simply the Ocean Bar.This week, it was glorious weather, very hot, and yet no parasols anywhere. Our kids had to shade under play equipment. My wife's tea came out stone cold, plus they missed the snacks off the web order system. We had five visits to our table just to serve four drinks and two snacks. Terribly disorganised.

Extremely difficult to order anything as not able to access the site - just wouldn’t connect. Would appear lots of other customers were also experiencing the same. Lady said she’d come back and take our order if we paid via cash but never returned. Eventually placed an order but extremely disappointed. Fruit given to my son was well past best before date. I ordered fish and chips and assumed being a sea view bar, this would be fresh but unfortunately it was frozen processed fish and I left half of it. Partner ordered chicken and it was rock solid. Such a shame as has always been a lovely pub when we’ve previously visited but something has definitely changed so wouldn’t eat here again unfortunately.

I loved it down at Ocean Holiday Park last year but a change of supervisor and all of the nice staff leaving since has changed the atmosphere completely. Came in the other day and the ginger girl and the dark haired chap were very rude to customers (not just us). Not to mention I was given an out of date J2O (April 2021) a few weeks ago without being told on the website they were out of date. The food we ordered was long awaited, half the order was missing. When trying to grasp any form of attention from staff to raise the issues above, my wife and I were blanked.Terrible staff, terrible service, terrible experience all round. Would not recommend

All those who new the gem that was once the Ocean bar with its cosy old world pub style lounge full of Character excellent service, fantastic atmosphere, cosy lighting and great entertainment must feel as sad as myself my friends and family at the way this place has been altered. The horrible bright lights, the clinical look and not even any Acknowledgement from a staff member until we asked how we get a drink (which appeared to be only available via a app) not even any background music when other nearby pubs were buzzing with live entertainment. Desperate to love this place again but a lot needs to change. Thankfully the lovely sea views from the excellent gardens are still to be enjoyed and the outside bar is a bonus when it’s open. Let’s hope things look up and some of the regular faces might return.

The pub is brilliant and the staff work really hard . The food is good and good quality . Very friendly pub and dog friendly

The wife ordered a cheese burger and this was so over cooked (burnt) that even she couldn't eat it, and she likes burnt food. She took this back and it was replaced by a tuna mayo jacket potato of which she selected. Although this was presented well and looked great, most of the jacket potato was raw, so all she ate was the tuna mayo out of it and the side salad. After taking the first meal back, we would of expected the second meal to cooked perfectly to compensate, but this was no where near the case.Very disappointed and would not recommend for meals.The drinks that we have received during our visits have been good.

Aye and drank here a few time as it was a short and enjoyable walk down the beech from our caravan. Little unusual in that the pub and food servers are different people. Enjoyed a couple of nice pizzas, reasonably priced and well cooked. Lovely spot if the sun shines, sit and look over the bay. Children’s play area and outdoor bar to.

Had a great few days visiting this place, would totally recommend and if other establishments want to see what good looks like in following the new government guidelines I would suggest a visit to the Ocean Bar in Brean 🍻👍🏻

Very helpful staff, we were made to feel welcome , rear terrace stepping down is nice ( we did have good weather). They Have a pager device system to collect food when ready and works well. Staff always visibly cheerfully cleaning up and it was busy.

On a family holiday and been in several times! Tom and Abbey served us and were lovely and had great chat, the view and food is an added bonus too!

Had a nice pint in the pub garden a couple of weeks ago and it was honestly one of the safest places in Brean to go for a drink. Me and my wife came back recently to have a breakfast and that's where the problems started. Firstly there was no test and trace on arrival which we found very odd. Then after waiting for the best part of an hour to order our breakfast we struggled to find a table that didn't have dirty plates and mugs on. After a short time we were then informed by a member of the staff that the food we ordered was not available. I wanted to express my concern to the staff and chatted with a lady who i assume was in charge and you could clearly see that they were not interested in whatever I was saying to her. Anyway when the food turned up I cannot say that it was worth it. It was stone cold and it didn't looked fully cooked ... Won't be having food from there again.

Initially thought what a great place. Can’t fault the views but I’m afraid that’s it. Visited Sunday morning, as the sun was shining it was fairly busy. First of all waited in queue to be served for about 15 minutes ( not a major problem)I personally didn’t see any menu till I was nearly at counter, opted for two regular breakfasts, one tea and a Diet Coke. Girl serving didn’t even take metal top off coke bottle till i asked and wasn’t offered a glass ( again not a major problem and I normally wouldn’t off bothered thinking about this twice)Took seat outside a waited and waited. Looking round the garden area noticed people sitting their dogs on the tables ( which people have to eat from!)After an hour our food was ready, thought the portion was very small( plate used was a tea plate) and my husband pointed out there were no hash browns on our plates, so he went in to enquire. Was told by girl there wasn’t any! But at no point on ordering we’re we told this, or offered an alternative. So we paid for something which wasn’t available!Rest of breakfast was lukewarm and pretty dire.Went to use toilets on way out, mirror in ladies all cracked and very dangerous, and toilet I went to go in someone had left faeces and not flushed ( obviously not checked) so I left without using. Also no track and trace in place ( only place I’ve been in not have )Rubbish left outside kitchen( split bin bags etc)which public have to walk past.Outside furniture badly needs painting.Got talking to a couple more people and they had the same problems as us, so don’t think we’re being overly fussy. Such a shame as this could be a great place as views are amazing

Had a 12 in pizza cheese tomatoes and mushrooms. When it came filling well in from edges and cheese when you could find it just around the middle. Left feeling done as it was just under £9. Base was very thin. Save your money. Use to be great value for money not anymore!!!

Beautiful setting but not good service. Waited over an hour for our food when we complained they were very rude to us. Would never return.

We’ve used here for as long as it’s been open & always been happy with previous owners & staff , we are happy to see that everything the new owners have done has just improved what was already a good place to visit , the drought ciders best on the strip ! , good food priced right , superb quality cakes , refit spot on ( still got the old atmosphere) work in progress on caravan park but we can all see it’s going to be right , keep up the good work on what’s been a very testing first year , Martin & Jamie had the right vision for sure , cheers

Well what can I say been going here for many years and now under new owners the breakfast was terrible the sausage was pink not cooked the eggs were raw they had no bread my wife's tea was stone cold so we will not be going there again very disappointed

We went to have dinner here and were very pleased to find a place more like what you'd find on a beach in Spain! You can sit on a table in the dunes and watch the sun go down with an ice cold drink. Nice find!

If u like your food cold or uncooked this is the place for you, bacon a good vet could get to walking again, mortgage applied to pay , friendly sh staff

I visit this place quite often always enjoy the food & drink now my moan it's a one way system the amount of people who enter the wrong way is unbelievable witness this from the outside area, next moan the young staff who collect glasses do just that no wiping of tables unless you ask them to do so this makes me think are they cleaning any area's adequately I think not, come on ocean bar sort it out.

Spent a nice few hours having a drink in the sun and the processes in place for covid are very good. You can purchase drinks outside and a one way system for the toilets.

Popped down for brekky. What a spot! Great place. Must be lush in sunshine! Right on the dunes. Well cooked breakfast. Forgot our hot choc but easily remedied. Great spot!

Me and my family ate here recently and both me and my sister had food poisoning after eating a greasy chicken Burger. I Do not recommend

Stop here for a beer most weekends but has had a big refurbishment over the winter and the place is so much better. Much more room, better beer and easier access to the beach. Lovely place

We have spend many afternoons and evenings here over the last couple of years. Nice relaxed dog friendly bar, lovely staff and good quality drinks. The place could do with a bit of modernisation, but saying that it all adds to the attraction of the place. Also as an addition there is also a nice cafe serving food to the huge beer garden area (leading to the beach) that had decent basic food on offer. If you are looking for a decent pint in a nice pub I would defo recommend the place.

What a lovely place this is. The position couldn't be better with views of the sand dunes and beach. Dogs are very welcome here. There is a great play area for kids. The food is excellent. There is plenty of bar staff to serve you. Whilst we were there there was live music on the sunday afternoon he was brilliant. Overall brill place definitely go there

What a fabulous place. Staff were attentive and funny. Location on a sunny evening was brilliant. Didn’t get to try the food as we were too late but can highly recommend this as a place to have a drink.

Been here loads of times...it’s perfect if you want a pub with no hairs and graces...good food at reasonable prices and right on the beach. It is up for sale though so let’s hope the new owners keep things simple.

I have been to this cafe many times for breakfast or morning coffee & cake. Yes like some of the reviews say it is a ‘little tatty’ but no I do not have low standards. It is genuine, home cooked food, very warm welcome, great prices, dog friendly. A warm welcome is so much more important than a new cushion. Also the pub is not designer it is real with friendly staff and customers.

Great pub with a good atmosphere polite funny bar staff with entertainment going on good for all families dogs included with a separate cafe on the side which caters from breakfast till evening has a large beer garden with play area and leads to the beach

We’ve been coming here ever since it opened many many years ago and still enjoy every visit we’ve seen many staff come & go , but have always been made to feel welcome , not sure if it’s the location or the way they look after the pipes etc but they seem to have the best draught ciders in the area & we drink at lots of places in brean ( so we know !!) always great background music playing, good entertainment on certain nights karaoke etc , ocean view cafe has had a great team running it over the last couple of seasons plenty of freshly prepared quality meals ( try the homemade southern fried chicken fillet ) superb!! Yes the site is a bit dated but that’s how the thousands of people who use it every year like it , prices on drinks & food are very reasonable considering the sea view location, keep up the good work & up to Darren & his team

The ocean bar is a great pub , nice fresh beer and a friendly atmosphere. On weekends free entertainment. The cafe at the rear of the pub serves excellent food

Was glad to find somewhere open in March as a lot of the area was still closed. Visited each day of our break in brean and staff seemed friendly. Dog was also welcome which was a relief when the heavy rain started.

I don't understand how people have been rating this place. We specifically chose this place for lunch as claims to be 'dog friendly'. Having been for a walk along the beach we were wanting something to eat and drink to warm up with the dogs. We went to go into the cafe with the dogs and they said dogs were only allowed outside (in the cold) but it was ok if we wanted to use the tap outside to fill a bowl for the dogs. We attempted this but the tap wasn't working. We had to order a glass of water to fill a bowl to give the dogs. We asked for a menu and they said it was the breakfast menu only (at 1.30pm)?! We ordered food and a hot chocolate which was not very nice at all. The food came out dripping with fat and the tomato ketchup ends were blocked so had to unblock it before I could use it. Definitely will not be going back.

Love love love this place! Fab entertainment lovely staff...brilliant atmosphere! And it’s one of those places you always know someone that’s in there...and it’s set in the most stunning grounds looking out to see at the back, lovely kids area

Brilliant location. Great food in the cafe and exceptional service in the bar. Spent a few weeks in the area and this was easily the best place we found. Full marks

After a lovely walk along the beach came upon this pub during the country and western week. What a find, lovely views, really nice kids play area, very family friendly. The drinks were very cheap and so was the food. Had tried some other of the bars in Brean but had been disappointed with the quality of food. The quality here was excellent, and good value for money. Noticed that it had good facilities for the disabled too. Was gutted to find out we had missed the kareoke the night before but will certainly be back next season for that.

As another reviewer said you need to have low standards to like this place. It needs a major overhaul - it is tatty, the food edible but the general environs poor (old tables, rusty umbrellas). I was glad to get back to the nice end of Brean.

Great place to meet families staying in various places around Brean, its very central. Bit of a pain not accepting card/contactless payments for alcohol, its 2018. Still beer was OK and looking really scruffy after a day on the beach with the kids was ok and we felt very relaxed about it,

Stopped here for Breakfast as it opened at 9am on Sunday when very little else was open. Breakfast was ok and inexpensive. The only thing I didn't like was that you could not access the toilets until the pub opened at 11am. Not having toilet facilities would unfortunately put me off returning in the future for breakfast. Nice gardens though so may visit the pub next time.

We love this place! Few drinks, a bite to eat, dog/child friendly, what more could you ask for? Oh yes, a stunning view, it's got that too! It's got the lot.

Went hear on a Friday night with friends. What a lovely night out. There was a man that had the everyone singing out loud. The staff were very friendly and the price was very good. Will see you all a gain soon.

Average pub, pretty small not great access for pushchairs but nice big outdoor seating area. Dog friendly. Small variety of wine and beer/cider. Friendly staff. Access to the beach via some steps. Nice play area for children

Without doubt the best English breakfast there is. Lovely cafe and bar with great views of the dunes and sea. Lots for children to do and live entertainment.

You can get to the ocean bar from the beach, up some steps then a small sand hill to climb , then down some steps a small walk past a play area then up some more steps again, a bit hilly, but well worth it, or you can get to it from the road just by the side of Mc'Colls the shop. The views are lovely over looking the sea, you can see the rock in the sea called, steep Holm. They have a cafe on the side attached but separtrate from the bar and the food is good value for your money. All dogs are welcome and water bowls are provided. The pub as a good atmosphere, and friendly staff and some times entertainment. We like going in winter and summer

Oh what an excellent find this is - one of the jewels of brean. This bar is warm friendly excellent value for money with a beer garden that everyone loves to sit in - a fantastic view of the sea.

The ocean bar is a small pub just off the beach. The pub has a typical pub vibe but is always full of locals and holiday makers.

This is the only pub set in the dunes with a sea view and a path to the beach. Nice children's area. Good Bankss beer at cheap prices. Dog friendly. There is a cafe which is actually a separate business and it is only open...

Great place ,friendly people brilliant entertainment , have stayed many times and we even pop in just for the day. We were down for Mothers Day and had a brilliant time .

Been here many times and will always return when in the area! Lovely people, a nice beer and even a spot of karaoke when the season kicks off! Breakfast is good too!

Been here a few times while visiting Brean. We go here because of the play area at the back as the kids love to play while we sit and have a drink. Really good location, lovely views and nice drinks. Would definitely recommend a visit

Very friendly atmosphere and there is also a cafe now attached which does a basic menu of hot or cold food. The beer was good and for any Midlander's, they serve Bank's!! The garden terrace's are a must and there are good paths leading to the beach

This pub is my favourite in Brean, the prices are very good and the beer is looked after properly, there was no food at the time of our visit because the kitchen had an electrical fault

During our stay in Brean, we visited The Ocean Bar on several occasions. The rear garden overlooking the beach was gorgeous, the staff were always very friendly and attentive, the evening entertainment was fun, and the food wasn't too bad either.

We visited Brean as part of a rainy day activity when staying for a short family break in Bath. Having visited the splash park earlier in the day, we decided to leave the offerings of the Wimpy and other deep fried food places in search of something more palatable and having visited the Ocean Bar on a previous visit we thought it would be a good choiceNow don't get me wrong, I'm not adversed to cheap and cheerful, as long as it's the price and service reflects this. The Ocean Bar is broken up into two bits, a cafe and a bar. We decided to tackle the cafe first. In fairness, a fairly good selection of menu items although it did quite clearly say that you can't mix and match sandwiches - don't even think about adding tomato to your tuna sandwich...! Prices were fairly reasonable at face value and we paid about £13 for a chicken wrap, a burger and extra chips. The lady serving us was fairly brash and a number of the staff had noticeable dirty finger nails... although somehow they are 5 star hygiene rating.We disappeared into the pub to buy drinks, NOTE - both the cafe and bar only accept cash, no card payments are accepted at all. There is a cash point at the bottom of the drive at the McColls - it does charge £1.85 to withdraw cash. The bar staff were friendly enough, drinks prices can't be knocked either - a pint and a small bottle of wine was £6. The service was quick and efficient - we finally realised why we decided to come back here, until the food came out.The food came out within 10 minutes or so of ordering, and what a disappointment. Everything that could have been deep fried was. The chicken wrap was a solitary chicken dipper in a wrap! The chips tasted strongly of old reused oil. OK the food wasn't expensive but there has to be a line drawn at standards. If this is what you enjoy you'll love this place and the other reviews do reflect this. Our tastes are clearly worlds apartDon't get me wrong, stop for a drink. The views are ok - granted its the Bristol Channel but work with what you have right? There's a path down over the dunes to the sand/mud, and a small park for the kids. Stop and have a drink, just don't eat.

Stayed at Warren Farm this weekend again and thought we want to go somewhere fresh for our full English.Ocean Bar was chosen. Great views, nice staff and brilliant prices! £5 all in including hot mug of coffee......Food was great, tasty and didn't leave the 'oh so common' dry mouth an hour later. Only had the normal breakfast not the big one. It was more than sufficient.Going back in a few weeks and will be having an Ocean Bar Breakie!!! Job Done!

The views here are just amazing!!! It is a cash only pub so make sure you go to the cash point before hand. Food is lovely and a good price. On nice days it can be hard to get a seat as it does get really busy. Great play area for the kids and the beach is just the other side of the dunes. A very chilled out lovely place.

Had a meal here which was good quality cafe food which we all enjoyed. Views were amazing and childrens play area a welcome distraction. It was quiet when we went and took a bit of finding but not sure how busy it gets in high season.

Following good reviews, decided to have a dinner with family. Disappointed as it is cash only and no food was served.

I was only there one dinnertime but found the staff and customers all a very friendly bunch and felt really at home and would use it often if i lived there.Not the poshest place on the block but genuine.Dogs very welcome,cheapish drinks and food.Intend to return for a stay later in the year .Decent view of the muddy sea and access to the beach.Yes nice enough.

Once again we decided to spend our Sunday afternoon at The Ocean Bar, and it was just brilliant fantatic singer for entertainment. There are pleanty of friendly bar staff you never have to wait long to get served. The loclas and holiday makres mix really well and the place has a great atmospher. TBH if i lived locally would make this my local. Beer prices are resonable and the fresh rolls are very tasty. Looking forward to next year already

The Ocean bar is very popular with visitors on nice days so be prepared to wait for your freshly cooked food. There are nice gardens to sit and take in the atmosphere while you are waiting.Dogs are welcome in the outside areas and there are water bowls so they can have a drink.
