The Nuthall Pub and Kitchen in Broxtowe

I just wanted to leave a review for this excellent venue. Honestly can't fault it, which for me is unusual. Thank you to all of your team.

First time here. Will definitely return. We booked a table for 20 odd family members for my grandson 18th birthday celebration meal at faily short notice. Greatful to the staff who went above & beyond to accommodate our booking. Fabulous Food. Atentive Service and a Great atmosphere. Thank you to The Nuthall for a memorable time. Would recommend to all for any occasion or just a meal out.

As others have written this is not just another Gastro Pub. We called in at lunchtime. Car park reassuringly busy. Staff very friendly, obliging and efficient. Wife enjoyed fixed price menu, gluten free. Chicken was moist, veg very tender and well cooked. Sauce rich and tasty. She thoroughly enjoyed the Brownie and Ice Cream My burger was also very tasty "fully loaded" and with crisp "skin on fries" A very pleasant, unrushed lunch. Will definitely return.

Nice food, reasonably priced and a cosy atmosphere.

Very disappointing. One chap behind the bar particularly very aggressive in his demeanour. Ask for him to change me a pint after the previous barrel had runout and was left sitting . He declined saying “it’s okay.”. I then asked his manager for a new pint and the said individual behind the bar ( long greasy brown hair with an unkept complexion) tried to intimidate me by standing in front of him. Absolutely Needs to get himself into another job. You have been warned. Be wary of this man as I was very intimidated I’ve come for a pint not a fight

Decent pub, sometimes gets too busy and can affect the food but on this occasion it was OK. Better surroundings in the restaurant rather than the bar. Can't really go wrong for decent gastro pub fair.

Stopped here for a quick lunch while on a trip to Leeds. Great food and service and only a short detour off the M1

Never been here before but would certainly go again. Food was delicious, made some adaptations to cater for mum who finds swallowing certain foods difficult. Thank you for this act of kindness. Service was exceptional. We will absolutely be returning.

Hemos visitado The Nuthall en muchas ocasiones en los últimos 5 o 6 años para solo bebidas, almuerzos, cenas para 2 o más eventos grupales y familiares y siempre hemos encontrado un ambiente relajado encantador, buena comida y servicio. Mirando hacia atrás no creo que hayamos tenido un solo problema o queja en ningún momento. Muy recomendable.

Visited 11.12.2024 lovely atmosphere on entering. Staff were friendly and accommodating, which is unusual in December as its very stressful for them. Welcomed our grandchildren and kept them entertained. The other customers were also very chatty. It was a pleasure to visit. The food was exceptional, and the service was excellent. I wouldn't hesitate in recommending. We would definitely visit again.

The waiter Karl at 20:40 on the 2nd December I came in for drinks with an old school friend and got seated down .. we then asked to moved Somewhere else one waiter said yes so we moved the another waiter came over shouted at us because we wasn’t ment to be sat there the. Asked us to pay out bill promptly ! I find that very discriminating and I am not happy at all ! He needs to work outside collecting rubbish the way his attitude is !

The food was beautiful. Service was OK. I appreciate it isn't the fault of the service staff, but we felt rushed. The table is booked for 1.5 hours. More or less, as soon as we put the cutlery down, they arrived with us to fill in a review. And, they twice they arrived for us to pay. Just felt rushed.

What a delight! Throughly enjoyed the lunch menu, well designed homely venue layout, professionalism of the kind and willing staff, from our entry to departure. Would definitely recommend and will definitely be back for the Christmas menu and restaurant Christmas decorations, as The Nuthall has a homely feel and relaxing atmosphere that made me not want to leave. Thank you and keep up the great service!

Met a customer for coffee and pleasantly surprised on how nice it was. Service was great and the drinks were great. Would recommend.

I wasn't expecting the food and ambience at this restaurant. It's very close to a busy road, so I expected the worst. How wrong I was. The place is great, an oasis of calm and class. The food is great, drinks too, and I had the lamb shank. Lovely and the service is perfect, prices inexpensive. I would recommend giving it a try.

First time I have been here, food was fantastic, service was on point and staff was polite and welcoming. My only issue (and I am talking a minor issue) was that it wasn't very warm inside, the heating needed turning up a notch. But I will definitely be returning.

Food menu is heavy on the meat side, if you’re vegetarian you’ll be hard pushed to find a main plate suited. To the ‘manager’ up front who upon listening to my mother then dismissed her with a “I have another one hundred and fifty customers to look after” and then walked away, when she was providing feedback about the menu…that’s beyond rude. If you can’t handle a busy night without having an attitude then find someone who can. I’ve worked with hundreds of customers as a manager and would never have dared to have spoken in that manner to a customer in front of me. It shows a lack of decorum and care towards repercussions, noting my parents are aged . That was the let down of the night. Our plates were left all night on the table as a server tried to collect whilst I was still eating, I thought she’d be back…alas not.

So good to have plenty of gluten free options on the menu! The gf burger was so good

A pleasant eatery just off the M1 on the A610. Good food and good service. Reasonably priced and usually a good selection on the menu regardless of diet.

Popped in with a mate for a quick quiet pint and The Nuthall didn't disappoint. Staff were friendly and polite with their service. I shall be back with my wife to sample the menu.

Visited today to celebrate my sons 18th Birthday with 14 family members, pre ordered, so food was quick, hot and very tasty. Our server ( India) was amazing, super attentive, didn't rush us and really polite, she couldnt do enough and happily took photos( I hoped she got her tip?). All in all a throughly enjoyable meal and most of the puddings were delightful. The only reason it wasn't a 5 star review is the extortionate price of the cheese board, 6 crackers, 3 very small pieces of cheese and a little tub of pickle, no way this was for 2 people and at £16.95, was a real disappointment and did put a tiny dampener on the celebrations as the birthday boy and I were supposed to share..luckily an M&S Colin came to the rescue!

Nice place but a little dated with the decor and furnishings. Staff were very nice and friendly, food was ok.

Just had lunch here and really enjoyed it. The flatbread I had a was excellent and really good value. My GF had the Steak and Ale Pie which was tasty and well received. The service was very good too, which is notable as the place was very busy.

Had the most beautiful breakfast here on our visit. It has a great feel about the place, the staff were great as was the food.

Went on a Sunday and ordered the platter of which comes with a trio of meats and comes with really nice Carrots and Green Beans. One of the best roasties I’ve had for a while and great meat, the star of the show was the porchetta. Prices at £22.90 this is a fairly pricey dinner but it is worth paying this amount for roasts that are class. This would have been a 5 star had they served mash potato with the roast and another veg. Quality is there but sadly no mash on a roast should not be allowed.

Lovely, quick and inexpensive meal. We're both vegetarian: I had the squash and lentil Wellington and my son had mushroom pasta. The food was tasty, service was good and the staff were lovely

Had the chicken Sunday roast, delicious all cooked to perfection tasty vegetables & great Yorkshire pudding great staff will definitely be back & recommend.

Not been here in a long time and it was still as good as ever. My friend has 2 courses for £22.95 I think it was good value for money cause a main is £15-£25ish ( more expensive end being steak) and puddings were £6-£8ish so if you were looking at having 2 courses it's well worth it. I had the beef sandwich £10.95) and chips and ordered a side of black pepper sauce. Beef was cold sliced and rare which I really enjoyed as I like my beef rare. I have blackpepper sauce pretty much everywhere I eat where it's available and this one was soooooooo good. Really good pepper kick, rich, small diced onion, on the runnier side but the flavour really packed a punch. Forgot to get any photos other than dessert the baked cookie dough with vanilla icecream, fudge pieces, and chocolate hazelnut sauce 😋. So rich, so sweet, but if that's your thing, it was oh so good. Little service touches that can lack at some places werent lacking here. When we didn't order starters our starter Cutlery was taken away straight away, we were offered another drink mid meal, asked if we wanted sauces when our mains were served. At the end of the meal we were asked if we enjoyed it and had a nice time and to enjoy the rest of our evening! Little touches and I noticed them and they were appreciated.

Took a chance on this place as we stopped going years ago. It is now a gastropods and it didn't disappoint. The staff were friendly and efficient, the place decorated to a high standard which was lovely to see. It was clean and tables well spaced apart. The food was so good and well price. The thing that did not go amiss on us at all was the cutlery was polished and not a stain on anything even the glassware. Lovely welcome atmosphere. We will be back.

Myself and a friend visited here on a sunny weekday evening and took the opportunity to sit in the lovely outside seating area. This did mean we ordered our food at the bar as opposed to table service, but that wasn't an issue. The food was delicious, well cooked, and well presented, we opted for the 3 courses for just under £23 a head, and it was well worth it. I will definitely visit again.

Hemos comido aquí antes y tengo que decir que la calidad ha bajado cuesta abajo. Pedimos el domingo asado y plato. . la carne de res estaba bien, pero parecía que la tienda compró rodajas ... el pollo era insípido (no como la vez anterior que visitamos con hierbas y ajo) las patatas asadas eran de congelado y sabía a cartón ... el cerdo no tenía carne solo un grumo de grasa . . , no hace falta decir a £ 54. 00 con 2 bebidas que sin duda no volveremos a visitar. . incluso si la decoración es buena. Lo siento si quieres mantener a los clientes que necesitas para mejorar tu juego, he tenido mejores comidas de café y esperaba mejores a ese precio!

Food was excellent. Service a bit variable, not all plates had been cleared before the main course arrived. Coffee had been forgotten, it arrived late.

Lovely spot for a pub meal, we've had breakfast, lunch and dinner at The Nuthall and we've never been disappointed. Lovely crispy skin on fries are my favourite. Not the biggest variety but there's enough that everyone should find something they like, including vegetarian options. Highly recommend!

Amazing meal with the family, i had the lamb shank and it was cooked perfectly. My wife had the blade of beef and thought the same. Definitely reccommend the creme brulee and cookie dough desserts

We ordered a fish gougon sandwich,which to us is a fish finger butty. It came out as battered fish on a huge dry bread roll. Very disappointed

The fish & chips were great. Overall, it offers a very authentic picture of British cuisine and hospitality.

A party of 15 ,waited for our table, ordered sirloin steak well done arrived medium (rump served) , very fatty, no steak knives provided so tackled with a table knife, pepper sauce very watery,a few leaves of lettuce for £25,nearly £5 for a tiny bottle of Coke, no atmosphere at all,will I return??? Very unlikely..

Nuestros platos principales favoritos fueron .. . la Lenteja y Calabaza Wellington vegetariana, la 1/2 pollo y los pasteles caseros - bistec y cerveza y mi pollo y jamón pastel, era muy sabroso, con una buena cantidad de relleno de pastel, se sirvió con puré de patatas, zanahorias, y una pequeña porción de frijoles. El menos popular fue el pescado con papas fritas, ya que el pescado estaba seco, y la Porchetta de Cerdo fue dejada por uno, ya que era demasiado grasosa para el gusto del huésped. El postre favorito fue Apple & berry crumble con natillas. El brownie, aunque agradable, se estropeó por la gran cantidad de salsa de chocolate sobre él, ambos invitados pensaron que había demasiada salsa, lo que estropeó la experiencia. Tal vez si la salsa de chocolate se sirve en una mini jarra en su lugar para que el invitado pueda controlar la cantidad, sería una mejora positiva. En general, este es un lugar encantador, con personal amable y servicial y una buena selección de comida de calidad para una variedad de gustos. Sin duda recomendaría el pub Nuthall y visitar de nuevo.

I used to go into the nutshell when it was the Broxtowe inn and do like the changes however I feel it's lost character and it's just another pub and eating establishment. The service was great though and food as expected. Prices for drinks were a little on the high side. Plenty of seating outside on summer days and also plenty of parking.

Popped in here with some friends for breakfast and we were all so impressed! I had eggs Florentine (with a side of mini potato tots) and it was one of the best breakfasts I've had in ages! Delicious hollandaise, well cooked eggs, crunchy tots. Could not fault it! Great service too, and the little piece of brownie with our coffees were a lovely touch. Would absolutely recommend!

really lovely place, food was tasty and for me a perfect portion, for some it might be considered too little but was just enough to feel like a good meal with room for a dessert/shared one (for which i would 100% say go for the brownie with pistachio sauce, bloody delicious). good service, i think madeline served us tonight and she was lovely (again i’m sorry about the questions and topics my family were talking about when you came by to take the plates 😖), overall would definitely recommend the nuthall and will be back

We booked a table of 12 and it was great from start to finish the service was great, the waitress was really good. Would recommend this pub for food and drinks. Menu varied so it suited all of our party

Very quiet waitress. I couldn’t hear a thing. No NHS or student discount. £61.50 for 4 courses and 2 drinks. Really spicey chicken with lime. Not sure I will come back or not…

Very nice Sunday roast - lovely meat and vegetables prepared well. I'd have given 5 stars except that they forgot my wife's coffee and put a bit too much gravy on my meal.

Had a cheese burger 🍔 £16.99 .for a single burger? I certainly will not be back !! Wasn't worth the wait and certainly don't recommend the place there is a beefeater 2 minute walk down the Road .double burger same price but way better

Thought I’d take my mum to nuthall as wirk friend recommended it , food was quite nice but young lad behind the bar was rude and not helpful no please no thank u no emotion at all but man bringing dinner was nice and polite even though we didn’t have no cutlery to eat with not sure another visit is planned

Me and a friend went out for a treat. Our steak and ale pies were very disappointing. Over baked and very salty. The pastry was inedible but the veg was nice. Pointed this out to senior member of staff who was very dismissive.

This venue has recently been refurbished. It has an upmarket decor throughout, giving it a cosy feel ideal for a romantic meal for two or a family / friends group. A flat car park, which makes it ideal for disabled dining and additional seating areas covered and uncovered for outdoor dining. For large groups, you need to book your meal choices a couple of weeks prior, which is common policy. But it can be a disadvantage if you want to swap items, e.g, mushy to garden peas, adding sides, etc.. so think through your choice before phoning them through or correct then as you arrive. It is a popular venue. For example, Christmas day booking needs to be 18 months to a year in advance. We were a large group, and many had 3 courses, so a group with varying opinions about the food served, hence the 4 stars as we have different tastes. The starter favourites were the chefs, homemade soup, the pork ribs, and my wild mushrooms in a white sauce were lovely, too. Our favourite mains were... the vegetarian Lentil & Squash Wellington, the 1/2 a chicken and the homemade pies- steak & ale and my chicken & ham pie, It was very tasty, with a good amount of pie filling, it was served with mash potatoes, carrots, and a tiny portion of beans. The least popular was the fish and chips, as the fish was dry, and the Pork Porchetta was left by one, as it was too greasy for the guest's taste. The dessert favourite was Apple & berry crumble with custard. The brownie, although nice, it was spoilt by the large amount of chocolate sauce over it, both guest thought there was too much sauce, which spoilt the experience. Maybe if the chocolate sauce was served in a mini jug instead so the guest could control the amount, it would be a positive improvement. Overall, this is a lovely venue, with friendly, helpful staff and a good selection of quality food for an array of tastes. We would definitely recommend the Nuthall pub and visit again.
