Beeston Fields in Broxtowe

We met up as a family from 7 different households for Sunday lunch (carvery) on the 16th March. There were 8 diners and a newborn baby. Our orders for starters were taken, 5 had the Brie, one a soup and one a kofta. One had nothing. No complaints there although pricey. Then we came to the main carvery. Very pleasant lady serving the meat. The beef was very pink/raw and two of our party had the more well cooked edges. 5 had the pink beef and one had turkey. The meat and the vegetables were only luke warm and the gravy very watery. All together not a pleasant meal for £17.95pp. At the time we didn’t complain as we are not complainers as a rule. That afternoon/evening, 4 out of the 8 had chronic diahorrea, tummy cramps and the feeling of being sick. One of the party was violently ill both ends on Sunday night. The other three had severe pains and diahorrea for a couple of days. I rang to inform Beeston on Monday and no apology. I spoke to the duty Manager Anna. She promised to phone the next day, which she did. Unbelievably she informed me that we all must of had a tummy bug which was nothing to do with them! I reiterated that we were from 7 different households and only met up that day. Anna was very unsympathetic. She admitted she had never dealt with anything like this before, but she should be more sympathetic and offer a refund as there is no way we will be dining there again!! I would say avoid avoid unless you are constipated!! Angry doesn’t cut it

1 star because you can’t leave no stars. 4 of our party of 8 got food poisoning on Sunday. We all had the same meals, deep fried brie, beef carvery and stick toffee banana pudding. We all live in 3 different households, but all 4 of us had varying levels of food poisoning. After contacting the restaurant, they told us that we must have come with food poisoning, that complete lack of ownership and apology is ridiculous for a reputable restaurant. Also worth noting that my sister (who fortunately didn’t have food poisoning) wanted to take her leftovers home… they then presented her with a form to sign saying that they’re not liable should she get food poisoning. If that doesn’t scream of a company who has previously given someone food poisoning… I don’t know what does.

After a lovely sunny but cold walk, just popped in for a latte to warm us up. It's a great affordable pit stop, to get warm and relax...although we did sit outside on the decking (still in our coats), taking in the beautiful grounds. Made very welcome even though we did not eat this time. But you get a very good plateful of tasty food, whatever dish you choose. You will go back again. Very reasonable pricing.👍

A beautiful golf course and an exceptional venue. The food is exemplary. We've had Sunday lunch twice here and I can't find anything like it in Leeds. Large selection of exciting veg - not your bog standard boiled carrots and wet cabbage. Great roasts and some really good alternatives. Chef is attentive - brought veggie gravy to our table. Gorgeous views and a lovely atmosphere. A young waiting team but my, they were well trained

Visited twice with family. We enjoyed our breakfast feast so much that we returned a few days later for the Sunday carvery. Food was excellent on both ocassions - plentiful and tasty and service was superb. Very attentive, polite and efficient waitress. The dining room is airy and relaxed and the views over the golf course are stunning. Would highly recommend a trip.

A very impressive drive up the drive before you arrive at a stunning building. I was here for lunch which was excellent and hot. This was my first visit hopefully not my last.

Wonderful place. Always looked after by the staff. A special mention for Anna and Joanne. Nothing is too much trouble for these guys. Always friendly and helpful.

I’ve been golfing for over a decade and have never had a worse experience in all my time with a golf club. From the lack of empathy from the pro shop to charge our group £240 for a new bag because we weren’t allowed to share any clubs even though we were sharing buggies. To having to use fairway mats on the rough and being followed around by the grounds people. We were about to buy memberships here and hoped for the course to at least entice us in from our terrible first experience, and yet it got no better. All we wanted was a personal experience where we felt respected as golf players, yet our interactions in the pro shop made us feel like toddlers running around with their trousers down while being smugly told off by a teacher. A word to sum up the club is arrogant. I urge people not to buy a membership here unless you are an aspiring PGA tour player because maybe they might respect you on this distinctly average golf course. And as a lower handicap player I will now reserve my weekends to having fun on a pitch and putt because anything is better than here.

"Disappointing Experience" I recently dined at Beeston fields golf course, and unfortunately, it was a disappointing experience. From start to finish, the service was below expectations. When we got the food , it was luke warmish Given the wait, we expected the quality to be much better. We also had to repeatedly ask for basic things like water which should have been offered proactively. Overall, the ambiance was poor I wanted to enjoy the experience, but the poor service and lackluster food made it hard to enjoy the meal. Hopefully, they can improve their service and attention to detail for future guests it will be a long time before I go again this is not the first time I've been

Visited with our friends who are social members just for drinks, food, and snooker. Lovely staff, good food and great facilities. Highly recommended.

A review of the Tapas Night. Excellent entertainment but unfortunately, the food was a huge disappointment. Long wait for the order to be taken then at least three dishes were stone cold and had to be returned. Never seen such skinny, emaciated calamari and just four per portion @ £5 each !! Expected better at Beeston Fields Golf Club. Way below Par !

We came for the race night on the 7th and we have to say it was a fantastic night, great atmosphere and for a great cause. We would like to say Thank you to Jo for organising and running the event and her team for making it a great and fun evening.

Fantastic course, all in good order even after the weeks rain, great food with lovely staff! We just got in before the 🌧

Beautiful course, lovely clubhouse - I would say it's my favourite place to play. I would join if it was nearer to where I live.

Sunday lunch was good. Serve yourself and they are willing to give you more meat. Dessert was the highlight! Extra difficult to book a table. We had to wait 3 weeks to get a table.

The Sunday Carvery is excellent. 3 choices of meat carved for you and an array of vegetables . Lovely welcoming chef team.

Arranged a 80th birthday dinner for my wife and 20 guests in the small panelled room. Wonderful occasion arranged by my daughter with help and advise by the catering management.

Beautiful venue, great for large parties, such as weddings, Christmas celebrations, birthdays etc. Very easy to get to with a large car park. Good catering with large outdoor heated marquee and bar.

Good atmosphere and excellent service when we go for our Pensioners coffee mornings

Beautiful place, but I am not a golfer, but the wedding venue behind the golf club is very good, I the walled garden.

We joined quite a large group for the Carvery lunch at the Golf Club and found it very enjoyable. The building itself is a lovely old house with the grounds now transformed into a golf course. The restaurant has floor to ceiling windows overlooking the fairways, trees and scampering squirrels. Starters were served at the table, with several of us finding the chilli prawns quite delicious, if rather spicy. Others said their soup or terrine were good. Main course orders were taken at the table and then collected at the carvery - an arrangement I've not met before but which works very well so there is no queue. Then we could add from the wide range of vegetables, potatoes and enormous Yorkshires. I tried the vegetarian strudel which was like an enormous sausage roll to look at and just as tasty. One person said he found the fish to be a bit lost with all the veg etc, and should have chosen the beef or gammon which had stronger flavours. I have never had a chocolate s'mores cake before, but after this dessert I certainly will again. The staff were efficient and helpful, mainly young and trying very hard. The only failing was forgetting a child's portion size for the youngest diner. All in all it was very good value and not surprising the dining room was busy.

Went on a 60th Wedding Anniversary for Sunday Carvery. Had a great time. Staff really helpful. Everything seemed well organised. Food was really nice and a good selection thought it was great that you were told when to go upto the carvery instead of having to queue. All in all had a great experience and would definitely return

We went to Beeston fields golf club restaurant for their Sunday carvery for a Sunday meal. The customer service was terrible and we absolutely won’t be returning. We were seated by the waitress gesticulating at a table (rather than being actually shown to the table) and we’re left sat at the table for over 15 minutes without anyone coming to speak to us to take any drinks orders etc After 20 minutes I grabbed one of the waitresses to complain we’d not had any service yet, but rather than any apology, I was met with a response that conveyed we were inconveniencing her. 2 out of 6 of us couldn’t have the drinks we wanted because “they didn’t have any” (nothing obscure - we wanted an apple juice and a glass of Chardonnay), so ended up with just tap water. We then ordered the carvery to eat and the waitress left us no instructions of what to do - so we just went on up to the serving area, only to be practically told off by another waitress because she’d invited someone to go up too. Whilst fetching the carvery, someone not in our party asked for the Vegetarian option only for the server to react in another ‘telling off’ tone - that she should have ordered that up front because “it takes 6 minutes at least to do that”. Veg has run out - the mash potato serving bowl was topped up by a chef carrying a load out in a Jacobs Cracker selection box - Yorkshire puddings ran out. I witnessed several other people complaining whilst there - and we were asked if we were ready for ‘the cake’ in spite of not having ordered / bought any cake. Then when they bought the bill - they’d ‘forgotten’ to take the deposit off: which they’d also not done on the 1 other time we’d been before too. Rubbish service of grumpy staff. If you can’t smile and be nice to the general public, you shouldn’t put yourself in a customer facing role! Won’t be returning.

We held our daughters wedding reception on Saturday 13/8/2022 What an incredible place from our first arrival staff made us welcome and could not be more helpful ,considering we were experiencing very hot weather .The food served to us was of a very high standard I would definitely recommend the Walled Garden special place for special occasions.

My wife & I had food within the Golf Club this month, as last minute decision to eat here whilst visiting. I went for the Vegan Burrito, which tasted nice, as did Tuna & Sweetcorn Panini. Unfortunately both of them had half soggy & dead salad. One other disappointed would be the lack of baby changing facilities, being only one in the ladies toilets, by the changing rooms at the back of the building. In this day & age, what about if you have dads that are changing nappies!

We attended a wake at the golf club . Very nice buffet was laid on , in the circumstances very nice setting overlooking part of the golf course.

Beeston Fields has a dated charm about it which is not to it's detriment. We enjoyed a leisurely lunch with good food and good coffee. The service was good too, polite and helpfl. Beautiful surroundings and an oasis not far from the A52.

One of the better courses in Notts. Well maintained and beautifully manicured. Welcoming staff, nice clubhouse and good food. Will return!

Apart from the greens it was good. Pie and chips after the round was really good.

A great course, with great prices either for a green fee or a membership. The green gets better as you progress through.

Had my wedding reception here and was beautiful.

Went for Christmas carvery, food ok except beef was very fatty. Service was not as good as on previous visits, one member of staff I think who may have been a restaurant manageress was almost rude in her manner. Waitress did not seem to have been trained in serving the table or clearing away. Poor choice of starters and desserts. The member of staff who I think may have been in a managerial post was quite indignant when I asked her to split the bill between, the drinks and food. The reason I asked was I was paying for the meals and we were splitting the cost of the drinks between the party. Further to all this I had to ask her to amend the bill and deduct the £120 deposit I had already paid.

Fantastic Sunday Carvery, don’t hesitate to book.

We booked a lunch for my mum and dads 40th anniversary and had a wonderful time. The bar room is spacious with a lovely view and the staff were incredibly accommodating - a bottle of bubbles and little decorations added at no extra charge. The food is of a great standard for "bar" food. Will definitely be returning.

Went for lunch with friends and it was a lovely venue overlooking the golf course 😊and the staff were superb. Interesting menu and really good value. Will be going back.

Booked a society day for 2020 but couldn't play due to covid restrictions. However, rebooked for July 2021, and well worth the wait. Booked through Emily , who kept in contact as needed, able to get a excellent tee time, followed by a one course meal afterwards, excellent package price. Walking from car park to the club house and seeing the course, had the wow factor. Staff very welcoming, friendly and helpful. Course in good condition, excellent variety of challenging holes. Will definitely return in the near future.

Played today for first time in a very long time. The course is in great condition. The fairways are lush and the greens are of the highest standard. We shall definitely return and soon.

My husband and I have always had good service from friendly staff at beeston fields. Food has been tasty. Lovely setting . Just calling in for a drink on sunny afternoon is a pleasure.

Fabulous place and staff. We were here this time for my mother in laws wake and it was perfect. Previously visited for their 40th wedding anniversary a few years ago and it was fantastic on both occasions.

Great golf course. All the Tees are flat as it was the county course a year or so ago, so all the Tees are well maintained. The fairways are generous, but if you winder into the rough you do get punished,. Most of the fairways are tree lined, but as u said earlier the fairways are quite generous. The greens are true a quite quick, try not to get in the wrong side as you'll be wondering what's just happened 😀. Would highly recommend. With a member it's £23, we'll worth the money 👍

Had a great afternoon at Beeston Fields. The course was presented excellently with challenge and reward in equal measure. The pro shop is well stocked and operates CV-19 well. The clubhouse has been well shaped for coping in this difficult time! Thank you to all at BFGC hopefully I'll be back to play on a slightly cooler day!!!!!

Absolutely don't dinning area like a holiday kids room no table clothes food cold had beef a vet would have got it back on its feet very expensive for what you get better off going to chip shop been to a lot better places for half the price very disappointing ⛔

The themed nights for eat out to help out are fantastic. Great food, great service. The Indonesian night was exceptional.

Attended New Year 's Eve Dinner with friends. Great clubhouse, staff friendly, food and drink good as was the disco and fireworks at midnight.

A nice breakfast with "the girls". Unlimited tea and coffee but limited service!! A warm greeting and the breakfast was very well cooked (the sausages were particularly yummy) but unfortunately they were slow at clearing the table, getting our included fizz to us and the bill never arrived although we asked 4 times! We left our money and left!

Came here for a wedding recently on the hottest day of the year so far! we had a wonderful day. The gardens are beautiful. The food was great. The staff were very allergy aware and made sure I could enjoy my meal. a beautiful venue for a wedding!

Not really sure how to put this? I wasn't impressed. Had the event in the marquee- food warm but came out pretty late and was really disappointing. Only thing fascinating was weirdly- the toilet mirror illusion created- well for me
