Three Ponds in Broxtowe

Haven't been for years but was a great visit. Booked a table online for a Saturday night. It was easy enough. Lovely menu, plenty of variety.

Good food and atmosphere, although the pool table crowd can sometimes be a bit rowdy. Service was a bit slow but very friendly.

Variety of food and drinks. The staff were lovely. Joe our waiter was pleasant and recommended a perfect choice. We had gammon and also fish and chips. It was cooked perfectly and so hot.

Arrived and was greeted by a bar tender that wasn’t legally allowed to serve alcohol and nobody was around to supervise him. Had to take a seat and return back to the bar to get served, but still had to wait when returned. Ordered two Sunday dinners. Stated beef served pink, it wasn’t. Dinners came out in less than 10 minutes which never fills me with much confidence, and they were flavourless, soggy, and just not enjoyable in anyway. Definitely not fresh, microwaved veg, and colourless. When eating dinner, the pub opened the pool table which we were sat next to as it had the cover on so we assumed nobody would be playing this whilst we ate our dinner, low and behold a member of staff decided to let somebody play pool, therefore we left majority of our awful dinner and left, as didn’t want a pool cue in my face whilst eating. Will not be returning.

Second visit of the week. Really impressed with the friendlies of staff and greeting. Very clean eating area and nice white clean menus Choice and quality of seniors menu was excellent and 2 4 £14.99 mains great value and available all day Saturday too.

Nice pub both inside and out, car park has plenty of space. Went on Saturday for a late lunch, staff were polite and helpful, informing us of drinks deals at the time of ordering. Food was bought out quickly and hot when it arrived at the table, brilliant meal and can’t wait to come back again!

Not very good customer service, refused to take a food order as told only 2 steaks left at 1pm Saturday, (what were they saving them for!), bar staff said it was down to a ‘mardy chef’. Took custom elsewhere, I recommend Hickory’s or Holly Tree Farm just down the road for greater choice and nice food with actual customer service or pop into Kimberley itself for choice of vibrant, friendly pubs.

Had a lovely senior meal on 13th Jan and was served by Chelsea who was really lovely, very attentive to our requirements and made our overall experience wonderful. We had a little chat with her and being ‘young seniors’ was treated with respect and joviality which was great. Chelsea is a credit to you Thank You

Lovely staff and some great events too upcoming for 2025. We will be returning for family and adults events. food was lovely and hot. Always have the full menu when we go and always a great range to choose from

This is the second year in a row that I have booked for Christmas Day, and for the second year in a row it has been fantastic. The staff were extremely helpful and accommodating, the food was fantastic. There was no waits or delays. The staff were on hand throughout. I have visited many pubs and restaurants, and for Christmas Day this is one of the best which is why I returned this year, and I hope to be there next Christmas. Everything was perfect and to a high standard.

Heather and her staff did the place much credit when I called them on a business trip. I was delayed and wouldn't make my planned location in time to host two online meetings. I asked if I could do them there and Heather readily agreed. When I arrived, Heather was on a break and I spotted a perfect table which, sadly, had a reserved sign on it. When she came off her break, I discovered that she had in fact reserved it for me. She helped me plug in my laptop and I ordered a meal which I ate before the meetings started. The squid starter was great and the fish cakes with poached egg delicious. However, the egg was hard boiled and when I pointed this out, they did me another one with a soft yoke that was perfect. The meetings went perfectly too and I was on my way when they ended. Really enjoyed my experience there. Heather and her staff were terrific. All I'd say is that the place could do with a deep clean. It's looking a bit shabby but that's prob cos it's suffering at the busiest time of the year.

The food and service were both fantastic. The pub and tables were decorated beautifully for Christmas, everything was cooked to perfection and the staff were so lovely, helpful and friendly even offering to take a group/family photo. It was just a lovely experience and we all left feeling very festive and happy! Thank you!

Very close to Christmas, the service and food were still spot on. All 5 of us had lovely food.

Typical pub food, inexpensive cheap meals on offer with promotions for 2 for one etc on certain days. Range of drinks, Inc draught and bottles with a low and non alcoholic options. Large area inside with lots of wood all over.

Staff are lovely very friendly and helpful. The food is not nice not worth the money. They need better food

Had the festive fayre menu. Three courses for just over twenty pounds per person. Food was presented lovely and the staff were really nice and attentive. Can not fault them 😁

I have visited this pub 3 times in the month of December, 4th, 11th and 17th each time for the festive fayre meals with three different sets of friends. The first time 5 people, the second time 4 people and the 17th a table of 16. Each time every meal was spot on with no complaints about anything plenty of food and each time everyone left very happy. Praise needed for Ian who had been on duty every time also Chelsea and Jo. These members of staff go out of their way to ensure everything is going to plan they obviously care about their job and have a friendly and professional manner. I will keep going back and make recommendations to my friends. 10/10.

First time eating here and did not disappoint. Food was lovely and hot. We came here before going to the Motorpoint arena and will definitely come again next time we are here .🙂

Great food, nice atmosphere they had a Christmas craft stalls on our visit today definitely got us in the Christmas spirit will visit again soon to try the festive specials menu and to attend there other Christmas events

Great New Menu My friend and I went for the Camembert sharer for starters, then the BBQ chicken wraps and managed to squeeze in the crumble and cheesecake The sharer came with chilli jam and a lovely pesto, everything was great! We will definitely be back to try some of the festive menu

Amazing food and services by the staff on Sunday. Love that they have a separate dog area to the restaurant. Table services in the restaurant. It was very relaxing for us. We will be back

So I went to the 3 ponds today always been a pleasure. As under new management things has changed slightly such as the dog areas. The pool table is now there and struggle to move and I didn’t find it as welcoming as before but the bar staff guy resolved the issue and is very welcoming.

Updating my review! Our last visit wasn't great. But we nipped in for Sunday dinner. Got in and the food was good! Hit the spot and full. Defo better than the last time

Great area to play pool and also have the dog area too. The staff are so friendly and helped us loads. Free pool on Wednesdays and quiz Thursdays. We will be back with a four legged friend

We had afternoon tea. Oh my word it was amazing. The amount of delicious food we got was overwhelming. The best afternoon tea we have had (and we have had a lot!) Tea and coffee was topped up as required. The staff were so welcoming and friendly. We loved it and will be back without a doubt. Thank you we loved it

Great place for lunch We visited for lunch and opted for the lunch specials ie 2 meals for £14.99, chose hunters chicken and battered halloumi and chips. Both delicious and great value for money. Nice to see a new menu and new owners

Our first visit (26.9.2024) and we were not disappointed. The establishment is large and with plenty of seating, very open plan and spacious with lots of natural light. Staff are helpful and friendly. Food is lovely, Halloumi,chips and mushy peas ( a great meal for any vegetarian). Mixed grill ( cooked perfectly and great value for money ). Hunters chicken (very moist and full of flavour). Highly recommended. 5*

Awful meal. Lasagne was like slop and more of a gravy than a pasta sauce. The hunters chicken was as bad and both no where near to temperature

Went for Sunday Lunch. Was told as we sat down there wasn’t any Yorkshire puddings as the oven was broken and had been for a few weeks! Table was sticky and the menus dirty so not a good start. Ordered the fish and chips, lamb shank and a pie. Pie was okay, but the mash was dried up around the edges. The fish was awful, looked like it was a frozen warmed up piece definitely not freshly batted as the menu stated. The Lamb shank was delicious, although the roast potatoes were under cooked and the cauliflower was rubbery and undercooked too. Overall not a good meal and won’t be returning. When mentioned about the veg at payment they did take the drinks off the bill, which was at least a good gesture.

We enjoy everything about this place. Service is always good and the food is really good value for potion sizes.

Quick stop off on way back from holiday, so didn't book, but was lucky to get a table as not many spare tables for a mid week early evening. Staff very welcoming, good choice on menu, lovely waitress called Ashley served us, friendly and well paced service , didn't feel rushed or made to wait too long. Pub clean & tidy , tables clean , food came quickly, well presented and hot, we all really enjoyed our choices, tasty, all meals finished, steak cooked as requested, lamb shank delicious and nothing left on plates. Pudding choices also went down well. Great pub, great service would use again when driving that way. Well placed just off M1 if looking for a stop while travelling. If lived locally would be using regularly.

It's not a bad pub but it's more of a generic British pub shaped eating house now though. The food is average for Green King, a bit pricey for commercial mass produced fayre but there are multi buy deals on some of the stuff. Not bad if you need a reasonably quick average meal

Didn't enjoy this place. My granddaughter felt like she couldn't play on the equipment without being pushed away. I didn't stay for food as I could smell drugs being smoked.

Love this pub, outside play area for the children, pool table inside and also a dog friendly area inside. Quick service and good quality food.

The Place is a nice and a lively place to be, it’s not too loud for dinner which is great. The deals they have on food is brilliant too. The burger deal every wednesday is so cheap but amazing quality. Chellie who served us was very attentive and friendly. Would recommend to everyone who would want a bite to eat.

I have not been here for a while but it was great to see the place looking so good great outside space ,new choices of ales different from other green king pubs ,great service from the new staff.👍👍

Such a friendly pub. Staff were lovely. We had a selection of nibbles and all the dishes were lovely. Large garden area to sit in.

We went for a bite to eat. On entering staff didn't make eye contact or speak. One person was serving. Another was stood in the hatch, and it was the licence (I believe) who spoke. From there nice and relaxed and service improved. The bar wasn't busy, but a simple 'be with you' would have done the trick. The food was nice and the serving staff were spot on. I do not know the pub well, so I assume it may be busier later in the evening, but it was also the 2nd to last day of the Euros which may have had an impact

Amazing service from Chellie, very warm and welcome atmosphere. Food really nice and very reasonable pricing, quick service and all staff friendly.

We went for a late lunch / early dinner. My wife had gammon which she described as “melts in the mouth” and I had a sirloin steak which I asked for medium rare and it was cooked perfectly! Most places I have been to have no clue how to cook steak properly. We have eaten at the Three Ponds and the food js always good. Service is always good and today was no different. Chellie and Ian took really good card of us.

Food was amazing. Best katsu curry I have had outside of Japan. Chelsey was very attentive and kind to our two little girls. Has a great kids outdoor play area with a slide.

Lovely place to eat with amazing staff, had the signature bbq burger and it did not disappoint full of flavour! Chips were crisps and had parts of each starter all would recommend.

Disappointed on the food .hunter chicken the chicken no texture very rubbery it put me off the food told staff about it no feedback ,soup was cold in the middle had to take back to warm it up and forgot to send the onion rings with burger .staff was nice place clean but I don't think I come again for food sorry

Our first visit to the Three ponds today and what a plesant surprise. The food was exceptional, one of the best pubs I have found in Nottingham over recent years. The Staff were friendly, considerate and profesional and the service in which we received from Shannon was outstanding and welcoming, nothing so too much trouble. All in all the surroundings, food and atmosphere was true value for money and a fantastic experiance. We will be frequenting the Three pounds in the future. well done and Thank you!

Poor service very disappointed we ordered the pulled pork burger and was told after we sat down that there was no pork but can put bacon on it we noticed after that there was bacon on the basic burger so we got a basic burger but paid more for the pulled pork there was a pensioners menu but when ordered it we were told they don't serve after 5 so couldn't have it as it was gone 5 but the menu was left out and no time on it so we ordered a normal sized portion we got charged for normal sized portion but was given a pensioner size with the pensioners menu there was a pudding we said u have charged normal size so do we get the pudding they said yes if u pay for it so basically we where over charged on both meals and could not get what we asked for but charged for it we asked for the difference back but was told they didn't do that very very disappointed it was our first time there but will never go back it was suppose to be a treat for my mum but wish we had gone to the chip shop

Walked in around 20:50 and the atmosphere wasn’t the best, the staff seemed uninterested and un welcoming with my presence, the staff member with the checkered trouser seemed very frustrated and overworked, would love to see this pub back in its former glory miss a good karaoke night

Popped in for lunch, was very impressed with the speed of service, food was piping hot and delicious! Will definitely be returning, and a great outdoor space too, very clean!

Staff are lovely and will do the most they can to make your experience a lovely one. The bar display has had a revamp and I'm looking forward to spending summer evenings here.

We were a party of 10 that had booked for a get together. We all had different meals from the menu and all were great value. 3 of us had the roast dinners, lamb, beef & turkey and we were all impressed. One of the tastiest we've had, matching a homemade dinner. Proper roast potatoes and parsnips. Served with good selection of vegetables. Nicely cooked Yorkshire pudding. Meat was tender accompanied with plenty gravy. All our meals were served together and hot. The staff are always friendly and we felt relaxed, not rushed. We will definitely be back.

Friendly and helpful staff but the food was OK not amazing. However had I been to the ladies before I ate then I would have left immediately. For an early evening weeknight the toilets were a disgrace.

Food was amazing, cooked to perfection, and decent portion sizes. I had the lamb shank, it literally melted off the bone, and my friend had the steak and she said it was perfect. Service was fast and efficient and the lovely guy who served us, Matthew I believe his name is, was so polite and thorough. Very enjoyable meal. Thank you all x would definitely recommend to friends and family

Used to he great, now the food is tasteles, basic overpriced food. Staff matched around "looking busy" but not actually doing anything.

If you want to take a dog in a pub, this is the place. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was served promptly, reasonably priced and all fine.
