Just popped in for the night as away with work. Although it's a Greene king pub, the staff have been lovely. Really friendly people and food is great too

We've never been here before, so was not sure what to expect. Was greated by friendly bar staff and sat with our drinks in the bar area. After seeing the wonderful array of food pass us by on the way to the restaurant area we decided to ask for a table to eat. This was not a problem, all the staff were so helpful and polite. Oh wow, I'm glad we did eat here. This was by far the best pub food we've eaten in a long time. Definitely on my must go again list.

Great food and cheap at the price

This was a very nice place, staff were very helpful, place was clean and well set out, toilets were very clean aswell.... Parking was easy and plentyful....I had the mix grill it was ok.

A busy pub with a friendly service. Great burger, reasonable pricing, family friendly, excellent lunch. You can park there, it's wheelchair accessible and lots of seating space but it's popular so the advice would be to book a table as walk ins at peak times may mean a wait.

Went for breakfast today with a friend and the food was lovely good value for money and piping hot staff really pleasant and helpful

Now the sunshine is making an appearance, we are getting to enjoy the lovely new garden outside again! A little premature as it was still a bit chilly 🥶 We love coming here. The staff are friendly and attentive, and the food is always spot on! We had a burger and a roast dinner, and which came out quickly, hot and tasty! Plenty of food on the plate, and nice fresh vegetables served with the roast! Highly recommend to anyone who’s thinking of popping in! You won’t be disappointed !

Haven't been to this pub for 20 years. I took my wife for her birthday lunch. We really enjoyed the experience. The food was good and service excellent. Big thankyou to Niamh for looking after us.

We've visited the nurseryman on several occasions and never had a bad experience so decided to book for my husbands 40th birthday meal, when we arrived we we're shown to our table, we waited ages for our drinks to be served then we had to look for the waitress to order our food, once we ordered we then waited almost an hour for our food!! Ordered another drink whilst we waited which again took forever to come! Once the food arrived it was cold, the onion rings were very over cooked, items missing from the ultimate burger dish, which was my husbands meal! The hunters chicken dish was rock solid, The whole experience today was disgusting and totally ruined my husbands birthday meal, its safe to say we will not be returning!!

Popped in yesterday for a Sunday dinner. Really tasty and came out nice and hot the service was also really good!

Booked here for mothers day for 5 people, as a surprise my Daughter her partner and my 2 grandsons one being a new born turned up with my nephew whom i had not seen for a long time , so in total 7 of us dining , we was approached by a very unprofessional member of staff who told us in half an hour people was coming to the next table & our booking had gone from 5 6 7 8 very rude she basically was saying we had half hour to eat & go , i was very upset by her entire attitude instead of being accommodating & helpful her face was like thunder , instead of the bill being for 3 people it was for 5 people not including drinks cost me £87 pounds i didn't eat i was so upset , so i paid for a bad service and everyone at the table couldn't believe this girls attitude, i will never step foot in that place again and hand good money over for our Afternoon too be Ruined .

Treated to Sunday lunch with my daughters on mother's day. Brilliant.

Thought food was expensive for what it was - pub grub, don't get me wrong, this is what we wanted, but we didn't expect it to be so pricey

Had the best time here again! The team are always so lovely, and can’t do enough for us! The only thing they ever ask for in return is a review! Which I am always happy to do! This is a good pub, with hot tasty food, and amazing staff! I’ve never had a bad experience here and I’ve been coming for years!

Helpful staff , accommodating and reasonable pricing

Took a group of 20 for festive Christmas lunch. Had been previously, so knew what to expect. Everything was ready as expected. Meal rather slow in coming, but all good.

Bit of a wait for food, scampi slightly overdone, steak more rare than medium.

Second review of the Nurseryman and it was spot on again. Nice food, good atmosphere and attentive service. Plenty of parking too. Recommended

Lovely service, clean and food was well presented

Our son started at the University of Nottingham in September. Since he moved into the halls just down the road, we have used the Nurseryman every time we have visited him. It now feels like our local even though we live over 50 miles away. My son and his friends at Uni have even started to go down there for a treat. On every visit, we have found the food to be brilliant, the pub itself to have a lovely relaxed feeling to it and the staff are excellent. Tonight we were served by Niamh and Artur (10th Feb) who were so lovely, checking on how we are and even keeping us up to date with the rugby scores! Have booked for Mother's Day and looking forward to it already. Thanks everyone at the Nurseryman

Excellent pub and grill. Staff brilliant pub clean and inviting. We went not under the best circumstances as it was a buffet after a funeral but the food was excellent. The smell of the griddle was enough to make us want to go back which we definitely will.

What a lovely experience 🙂 We’d actually booked to go somewhere else but then remembered it was Rugby so it wasn’t suitable as it was for a 10th birthday . Decided last minute to book a table through the website and wrote in the additional requirements that it was a 10th birthday & if they had any decorations could they dress the table - didn’t think for one minute they would . Yes they did 🫶 . Thank you so much for that , meant so much and made a little girl feel very special even though she had a shy moment . Food was lovely, nothing was too much trouble . Steak was cooked to perfection as was the chicken fajitas and hunter’s chicken (an old family favourite of ours) kids food was lovely a little glitch but was rectified without any problem . Deserts nicely presented and my blue light discount added and additional nice suprise. Lovely welcome from front of house lady (I’m sorry didn’t get your name) & also thank you to Fiona . Defo be back ….

Run out of Sunday dinners at 4,00 on a Sunday. Was told we had received a phone call to say that but they hadn't.

This is the first time here in a long time and from walking through the door to leaving the whole experience was fantastic. Love the decor and all the little sections it was warm and inviting. The gentleman who took our order drinks first gave us plenty of time to choose from the extensive breakfast menu. The food arrived promptly and was nice and hot.I thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience thank you and well done

Fantastic service, such a friendly team. Food is always spot on, especially anything off the grill. Always clean and tidy, can't recommend it enough never had a bad experience.

Beautiful plentiful food. Mixed grill was cooked perfectly and along with peppercorn sauce was great. Our waitress Abbie was very polite and looked after us well. Great value and worth another trip! Been again today and this time served by Grace. Never seen a waitress work so hard. Definitely keep coming back with this service. Oh and the new big burger is really nice!!

We went for new year's eve fantastic night out

30th December 2023, our party of seven booked an early New Years meal @5 pm, we had a very enjoyable meal, made extra special as our waitress was Amelia who was exceptional. We did have an issue with one main course, these things can happen, however Amelia very quickly sorted it out and was happy to do so. The customer facing skills Amelia showed give credit to Amelia and her training. We will be back

Good pub and I particularly enjoy the bacon and cheese fries. Right next to a busy road that can be loud but you don't notice it. Good selection of drinks on offer as well.

Great food at great prices the chef Nathan even cooked us Christmas dinners that we did not pre order and even gave my mum mash instead of roast cause she can only eat mash , very accommodating great service off Stacey and waiters we all just loved defo back next year all 16 of us x

Had the gammon dish of which the gammon was very tasty and the fried egg was too however the chips and peas were very dry which was disappointing. Other than that it’s a very nicely presented pub.

Standard Sunday lunch churned out in quantity. One of our orders was for a burger with no cheese. It came with cheese and no bacon. OK, should've sent it back, but just persevered. As the desserts were brought to the table, we were asked to vacate the table as soon as we could as they had a booking. No mention was made of a limited time slot when we booked or arrived. Overall, disappointing.

Amazing food ..and staff are happy helpful and know their job and work together ..the pub is relaxing and a nice atmoshere .

We celebrated my graduation as a family of 15 is always hard when it’s a big table your always concerned how it will go. All I can say is that it was amazing from the moment we arrived the service the food I couldn’t of asked for anymore I would highly recommend the nurseryman

One of the few pubs who serve good food on a Sunday evening and are dog friendly. We had a lovely evening taking our daughter out for her 20th birthday (with our dog). The very kind staff gave our daughter a gift as we left - very sweet. Thank you Nurseryman for a memorable evening.

The food was good, I had the fish and chips with mushy peas. I didn't realise mushy peas were so expensive you could only have a a spoonful though, whereas my brother had a ladle full of garden peas with his. Our wives meals were also both good. The service was very good and he atmosphere was fine.

The Nurseryman was a very pleasant surprise. I expected it to just be a chain pub but was I mistaken. They say they have grill masters and I can't vouch for that as we had Sunday dinner but the dinner was exceptional. The pork was excellent and well cooked. The vegetables perfectly cooked, full flavoured gravy and amazing gnarly yorkshires. I can recommend this place on the Sunday dinner alone but based on that I reckon their steaks are along the same path. Can't wait to try one! Visit 2 and starter was creamy garlic mushrooms. A very nice starter. The Rump steak was very quick to follow. Cooked perfectly rare, good quality meat and tasted very nice. All in all a lovely meal and still highly recommended.

We’ve been coming to the quiz night for a while now, we thoroughly enjoy it with friends, always have food which is amazing and reasonably priced. Our fav pub in the area! Keep up the good work!

So disappointed. My daughter recommended this pub to us as she has visited a number of times. Avoid the Sunday lunch at all cost worst one I've had for years they bought a child's meal out for 2 of us to start with instead of an adults. Beef was burnt and crispy, Turkey was soggy as though it was a joint cooked from frozen, the broccoli was so raw that you had to pick it up with your fingers as the fork wouldn't go through it. Yorkshire pudding was awful and over cooked. Waitresses were very polite but got the order wrong twice which they did rectify but were very slow and to top it off we were charged for a sweet that we didnt have but didnt notice until we had left. We were then ushered out as they needed the table even though it was there fault we were late. Second thoughts avoid this pub at all cost.

Went on a date today with my partner and I put a note on the booking system as I booked a table for just the two of us. Did I know that they pulled all the stops out and made the table look so nice for us to enjoy our date, not only that but they gave us a bottle of wine which was so thoughtful of them to do that for us. You guys at the nurseryman need a pay rise you not only have made us happy but we will continue to come back each year for dates and other celebrations. Thank you so so much for that. I just wanted to add that waitress who served us did a outstanding job, she was so polite and well mannered. Well done to you and that’s the main reason that we are coming back plus if she came back before we left I would of have her a tip but unfortunately she did not. But don’t worry I will remember your face and be able to find you so you can get that tip as you deserve it. Thank you so much guys you have made my and my partners night. Thank you so so so much 😊
