Coffee & Cream Beeston in Broxtowe

Came for a lunch and was very disappointed. I had chorizo hash dish that wasn’t chorizo it was fried luncheon meat or something certainly not chorizo. The taste was awful tasted of burnt plastic. No hash just bits of potatoes and a couple of rocket leaves sat in loads of oil in a dirty skillet dish. My husband ordered toast and peanut butter served to him without a knife. A tiny thimble of peanut butter and over priced. I requested some salt and was brought an empty salt cellar. One more thing my tea was served with a badly cracked cup very unhygienic and dangerous if it fell apart. Over priced food that was pretty awful and not what it was claiming to be. Service very poor although polite but still. Didn’t complain as we didn’t choose to eat there and didn’t want to cause a fuss. Had I been on my own I would have demanded my money to be refunded.

Beeston. You don’t know how lucky you are to have such a quality coffee shop. Everything it sells is of the highest quality. Cartwheel coffee roasts its own coffee bakes its own treats and prepares superb tasting coffee. The owner was lovely too. Right, i need to move to Beeston.

I recently ordered a cappuccino for £3.50, and while the coffee itself was really enjoyable—great quality and served at a perfect temperature, making it drinkable right away—the portion size was disappointing. The cup was so small, it felt like a child’s portion. For the price, the amount of coffee served doesn’t justify the cost, and you would have to purchase two cups to get a decent-sized amount. Unfortunately, because of this, I won’t be returning.

Their cinnamon buns have changed my life. Listen, I've always had a slight fondness for cinnamon flavoured goodies but I've never considered myself an avid fan. A few months ago, my girlfriend offered me a bite of Cartwheel's cinnamon bun and frankly, it was one of the best sweet treats I have ever tasted. Light, fluffy, sweet, just the right about of chew and incredibly delicious. My bank account has not thanked me for this discovery but I now have to get one every week! And to top it all off, their french toast is to die for and their coffee is incredible. Please, do yourself a favour and visit this establishment immediately! You will not regret it.

Really nice coffee. Had a perfect cappuccino. The pastries/buns were really fresh. The cardamom bun was just right in terms of ground cardamom and the maple walnut had a lovely caramel brown sugar taste. Busy, but we took a table inside on a sunny day.

I've not been in this cafe for about 15 years, since it was called "The Bean"..... But, it still has lots of space inside it, and loads of seats outside, now, under a 'canopy'..... So, no need to get wet if you want to sit out side, here. It also hosts people who want to use their laptops, upstairs, if needed, only when the main downstairs is full up, with other customers.... Which is good..☺️☺️👍👍 I had a "skinny late" and a piece of "Frangipane tart", which were both very delicious... 😋😋😋 And when I went in (2.30pm) - it was quiet, with most inside and outside tables available... It has really friendly staff here too.... Would recommend...👍👍

We got to Coffee and Cream every Saturday for the lovely food, warm atmosphere and great service. The staff are always polite and know our order, bringing us extra plates and cutlery. We recommend this cafe for lovely breakfasts, tasty lunches and awesome hot beverages

Genuinely the LOVELIEST coffee shop I've been to in so long - I used to be a barista, and the service here is genuinely so personable and tailored to what you need from a comforting coffee shop! their coffee is divine, and all the people working here are sincerely lovely. I came for Sunday Brunch with a group of 5, and there was seating indoors and really quick service! Couldn't recommend Cartwheel more

I frequently come here with my friend for a coffee. For me, this coffee shop has a better taste than the other one in Beeston. Recently, I went there and had a flat white, but it wasn't a great cup of coffee. It was like a cappuccino with thick froth. The presentation appears to be of poor quality. I didn't believe my eyes after I had so many good cups of coffee here. I am unsure how the barista can serve it to the customer.

Stopped here for a Sunday morning coffee while the wife was at church. Bright, well-lit, slightly trendy (but in a good way) space and friendly staff who were happy to make recommendations. Plenty of regulars in evidence judging from the foot traffic. If you like "serious" coffee and want to avoid the likes of Costa, etc. this is your place.

Cartwheel is a lovely cafe, coffee is great. I have been going in since the cafe opened and never been disappointment until yesterday when I invited my colleague to Beeston for a coffee. The young man working in the cafe that morning, 9:30am we arrive, was so perlite and welcoming, however, I was at the coffee bar ordering 2 extra drinks and the lady with the long blonde hair, female staff member, was speaking to him with such short patience it made it very awkward. I believe the female staff member was asking him for a coffee saucer but because he didn’t quite grasp what she said the first time she snapped at him and he was very apologetic. Very sharpe with him and from my perspective awkward and unprofessional. Additionally, my colleague is coeliac and only consumes soya milk and my colleague informed me that they only do cows milk and oat milk. Whether they were out of stock on the day I am unsure but this is twice we haven’t had soya milk as an option.

It's really good, and the portion is pretty big.

Excellent Place with separate seatings for people with Laptops upstairs while the regular chit chats on ground floor. I am quite particular about my coffee. Coffee ( Americano ) 9/10 Date Cake 8.8/10 Ambiance 9/10 Overall excellent coffee place for a catchup 👌

Delicious food and coffee, but completely inappropriate to have a staff meeting in front of customers. The manager came across terribly and I would not return due to the way she spoke to staff in front of customers.

Having purchased two drinks, told that I was not allowed to sit on the tables located downstairs, despite the total lack of any customers. I was giving the place another go having had terrible food on a few occasions but found the coffee to be passable. I totally understand the need for the tables to be for customers when it is busy, but a modicum of common sense could have avoided my latest poor experience, then again maybe it’s my fault for trying again.

Located in the high street of Beeston right near Sainsbury’s supermarket. Food & coffee were really good & it’s a cozy place to meet up with friends. Would definitely go back for ☕️ & 🍽️

Before I moved away for about 10 years, this was one of my preferred haunts. It used to be "The Bean". I saw all the 5-star reviews and wondered what's happened since it changed hands. OK new decor, more tables outside, but I guess that's the Covid effect. Food looks nice (didn't have any). BUT.. the coffee was a shock. So bitter. Nothing like it used to be. I checked the 1-star reviews and found that I'm not the only one to note this. I guess its prob OK if you have milk. The trouble is that I look forward to the excitement of a coffee arriving, but the idea of another one of these on its way fills me with dread. Hmmmm! Fake 5-star reviews? So, no, I won't be back. So sad.

Disappointed with the service, disappointed with the rancid butter you served my wife for her toast and im disappointed that when I told your staff, they said sorry but we can’t refund you but we can offer a free drink. First time and last time for me.

For the price the Hash is very good, however, a massive let down by the pancake as it feels wet and mushy in the middle. Upstairs is a bit cramp but overall would return for the Hash and coffee!

I've visited this cafe multiple times before, but won't be returning. Last time I visited, I was horrified to hear a staff member (who I believe is the owner/manager) opining that homosexuality was a sin in the eyes of God. He was berating another member of staff for disagreeing with his view. This was happening loudly at the counter, and at length, and I'm sure I wasn't the only customer who heard it. As a member of the LGBT+ community I will not be going back to this cafe, and would recommend that fellow queers and allies avoid it as well. There are plenty of other lovely cafes in Beeston that actually want our custom.

Great space, great coffee, great food.

Had cappuccino and apple cake which was ordered and paid for at the counter before sitting down. The cake was large, tasty and cheap compared to other cafes in the area. The cafe also serves panini looking sandwiches with what looks like potato wedges. They looked good. There is seating upstairs too.

Sells cheap food for expensive prices like cheap sausages and bacon you get from tesco for 1 pound and charges u more scammers staff are ignorent one of the worse places to go

One of my favourite coffee spots in my neighbourhood. Great coffee and good food are fairly priced. The staff are friendly, and dogs are welcome (downstairs).

Just been in to the Beeston branch. We both had brunch that tasted lovely and was well presented. Unfortunately what let it down was a member of staff, which we assumed was on her lunch break leaving one member of staff to cover the entire cafe on his own, at the busiest time of day. Fortunately for him he handled it to the best of his ability, trying to juggle serving customers, making drinks, running drinks, running food and clearing tables (over 2 floors). We appreciate the other member of staff seemed to be on her lunch break (sat outside vaping) but not only was she in sight of customers (which is highly unprofessional), she was also ignoring how busy the cafe was getting. For a small independent business you would hope that providing excellent service would be their highest priority. This may sometimes include juggling lunches and stepping in when the business needs your help, to maintain your reputation and high quality service. Or alternatively staffing correctly.

I'm very fussy where I eat and first sight I thought a bit basic in side but wow it was very clean and food marvellous had a jacket potatoe excellent size and partner had a omelette and chips and again marvellous will rather go here than witherspoons faster service and better quality of food.

Lovely coffee relaxed atmosphere, in my opinion it's the staff that make this different to all the other coffee shops in Beeston, they are such a lovely bunch of people.

I’v been staying in Beeston for about a week with a family that doesn’t drink coffee so every morning Iv walked here for my hit. I love this place. The staff are lovely, the coffee beans are experimental (so order carefully) but I loved every one I tried. I live in London so I’m used to pretty good coffee shops but this is the first time iv felt compelled to leave a review. I recommend any coffee fan to try the different pour-overs and soak up the vibes in this place if you find yourself in Beeston. As for the few negative reviews on here: the wait is relatively long. It’s not Pret or Starbucks times but that’s because it’s not attempting to provide the same service. The coffee here is the main event and the process is beautiful, a little long, but worth the wait. the staff arnt forgetting about your order if you watch them they are just making sure each product is top quality. Also the claim that the coffee is ‘weak’ or too bitter is also nonsense. They seem to stick to light to medium roasts so the taste isn’t overpowering but that doesn’t mean it’s weak. These are proper coffees that left me with that alert and relaxed feeling quality coffee gives. That being said, think before you order. If one of the pour overs is fermented with white wine but you just want a normal coffee then look at the other options. If you like your coffee strong and it’s a light roast you get an espresso. I’m convinced the few people complaining about the coffee wanted to go to pret and were disappointed with a better experience.

Disappointed. Ignored when we walked in and then told (incorrectly) that the kitchen didn’t open until 9.30am (actually it was 10am so we left without eating). £3.75 to add a slice of bacon is daylight robbery.

Lovely food (had bacon on rosemary foccacia with roast cubed potatoes, plus coffee) and sat upstairs with my laptop. Free wifi and accessible plug sockets (see photo). In the heart of Beeston shopping street. Would visit again.

I was recommended to visit, so am glad I did. Friendly staff. Nice atmosphere. Good table size to work. Clean and tidy. When I return to Nottingham, I’ll be sure to revisit. Meanwhile, will be recommending to my clients, whom I have just secured a home in Beeston from overseas.

Thought I hated mushroom soup until I tried this one - absolutely delicious!!!

We have been a few times over the years and have been very happy with the food & service. On our last visit a fortnight ago, we ordered 3 meals. Having waited patiently for 40 mins, I politely asked where our food was. We received accusing looks and glares from all the staff. In the absence of any explanation, we could only assume the meals had been taken to the wrong table. The staff were unapologetic and standoffish. We received a very muted & forced 'sorry' from the owner after waiting another 20 mins for our food. It was obvious we hadn't cleared 3 plates & hidden the dirty cutlery & crockery to bag three more free meals. It was obvious we were now starving, as we eagerly polished off our grub in record time. It was clear we hadn't secretly scoffed our meals previously and miraculously hidden the used cutlery & crockery to bag a free second meal. The staff simply ignored us and blindsided our table. We have always been polite and have always tipped generously in the past. But I doubt we will be back. Mistakes happen, but they are so easily rectified.

The seats were not comfortable at all but the service and atmosphere and coffee is great

You're spoilt for choice for brunch in Beeston but we really like Cartwheel, the coffee is excellent and the food while slightly more expensive than some other places is fab and generously portioned.

We had coffee ☕ & cake for our family. The staff were very friendly for us. We had a good time for a hour. 🤓😇

I love this place. Relaxing environment and the staff are always really welcoming. The food is fantastic, I went for the Sausage Focaccia which is one of those meals you don't want to end. The selection of cakes and pastries is divine especially the Hazelnut Brownie. Tea is provided in elegant and unique pots and cups. All in all a lovely place. Can highly recommend.

Very nice coffee spoiled by being served by a rude staff member. Shop opens at 8am and we arrived a a minute before. Was told “you’re a bit early aren’t you?” and that he should have “left the door on latch” so we couldn’t get in. Made worse by the fact he was serving two other people before we arrived. A shame as we like to support local businesses and staff here are usually friendly.

Nice atmosphere but I did not like my coffee here. It was served cold and bitter (I ordered cappuccino but it came in a small sized coffee cup). Could not drink at all. Sorry but I probably will not visit again

I came by myself often when I can work from home. Chilled place, friendly staff, the perfect environment for chilled afternoon working or reading. Only cons: prices slightly too high.

Outstanding everything. Service (mainly youngsters being exceptionally professional and kind whilst very busy), coffee (£2.90) and food. I had the chorizo hash (£11.50) which was delicious. But equally, everything else that went by looked equally good!

We were there on a Saturday afternoon so it was quite busy but the staff were very lovely and service was super quick! Coffee was great and the food was awesome - I'll definitely be back soon!

The interior is well-lit and there is an upstairs laptop space along with the brunch-restaurant style ground floor. There's also a covered area out front to make the most of good weather. The location is off road which makes it quieter than other cafes. There is a wonderful range of speciality coffees to choose from and a unique hot chocolate blend made each morning. My only critism is that, though the upstairs is 'laptop zone', it gets fairly noisy which makes it unreliable.

Hands down the best cafe in Nottingham. I’ve been going here for 4 years now and it’s never disappointed me. I recommend the Misspent Youth beans if you like to brew your own coffee at home.
