The Nut and Squirrel in Milton Keynes

Took our daughter for Sunday lunch. It's a new menu. Everything we had was really nice and good value. The kids portion caters to all ages, little bit much for our little one but she had a good go at it. Everyone was really friendly. We'll be back again soon as always.

Had a family meal for 6 , food was served quickly and hot when it arrived , very welcoming and helpful , will continue visiting again after a year or so of not due to previous management.

I was treating my daughter to lunch for her birthday. I found the lunch menu to be of excellent value and choice. I had booked for 12.45 but we arrived early and they allowed us to go in for our meal ahead of time, which was great. Everyone was very friendly and we felt welcomed and relaxed. I loved that we were able to order and pay at the table. The food arrived hot and was very tasty. The service was fast and there wasn't a long wait between courses. I would definitely visit again.

We really enjoy our time at the Nut and Squirrel. The staff are really friendly and helpful. They love the dog and he always gets a lit of attention. Water is brought over to the table for him to drink. Would recommend a visit.

Very good value for money Sunday roast, perfectly-cooked beef rib and good sized portions, especially dessert. Veggies slightly underdone. Lovely service from all staff. Good spot for a quiet weekend chillout lunch.

Wow - what a lovely pub We popped in after the most stressful week ever in our life with work! Welcomed by what I can only deserve and attentive and happy bar staff. Friday night drink and food for 3. Food came quickly and was fine (barring the tasteless peas). Lively loud music, which enhanced the atmosphere. Server was welcoming and polite.

We were greeted by a warm welcome at the bar, didn’t get the persons name, ordering food was easy and when the food came it was excellent, will be visiting again 😊

A lovely experience as always, the pub had a great live gig on at the time and the restaurant was cozy as always. The hunters chicken was great.

Sound atmosphere, approachable manager, Ryan the bar manager was very witty and funny poured great drinks , food was great for pub grub .

Beer was nice & servers were nice but food is not even as per menu. Lamb koftas were missing the fiery jalapeño tzatziki & there was no chilli relish. It wasn’t even chargrilled. The crispy onions are clearly broken up tortillas. I asked for mayo & server gave me a near empty bottle! Also had crispy chicken ciabatta. Ciabatta was over done & hard on top, there was no chipotle chilli relish just regular relish of some kind. The chicken was breaded chunky / nugget type. And the order & pay at table didn’t work so had to go to the bar.

Actually I’d put 41/2 if it was possible, staff friendly and food good at a reasonable price too. Handy & lovely pub.

We wanted this pub to be better than the last one in this group. The food was good. But the service is very slow. Nice team of people serving. A few mistakes with our orders. Food was hot. We were a group of 13. The restaurant was empty. Only people drinking outside (it was a lovely day). We enjoyed it but we waited a long time for any food.

Good quality food. Great location and staff were all very friendly and helpful. We returned the following day for breakfast as we enjoyed it so much. Prices are reasonable too.

Popped in here today with my mates to have a catch up and some lunch. Food was spot on, we all had different food, from wings to curry, burger and halloumi wrap. All really good. We all said we wanted to give the best feedback to the front of house guy, he deserves a raise! Didn’t get his name but was about 12:00. Really nice and chilled, funny, helped my friend out, and really genuine. Had a bit of banter with us too. Great to see. I know Mondays must typically be quiet but he was running the bar and bringing food too!

Very quiet for a Saturday. Had to wait to be shown a table (only 2 other people eating). No atmosphere at all, silence!

Cracking Sunday Roast! Plenty of fresh veg and crispy roast potatoes. Good deal on 3 side orders too- had extra yorkies, cauliflower cheese and some immense stuffing wrapped in bacon!

Great evening at the Nut and Squirrel . Fab band played and crowd loved it with singing and dancing by many . Had a great meal . Welcoming staff and all very friendly and service was excellent by all . Particular mention to Michael and Tallyn who were serving us , very attentive and kept our glasses full and good to chat with ! Both a credit to the manager Harry . Good find on our day in MK . Will definitely be returning . Thanks all

Sat outside in the sun, nice enough but far too many cigarette butts around and one table is almost up against a bin, not pleasant in the heat.. Pubs just fine inside though..

Stopped in for breakfast today, had full english and my partner had a brunch burger. Food was great, highly recomend it.

45 minutes for fish and chips on a Tuesday lunchtime. Then wasn't very good. No butter for the bread and butter, expected to eat it dry. Would add that the barman was excellent - he gets the stars all to himself.

Abit of a joke fish worst fish and chips for 12.50 and this is what i got served a burnt THIN slice of fish, tasted dry and not fresh and a hand full of chips. You'd think they'd give more chips but CLEARLY not, how can you serve a peice of fish like that, should of went to Morrisons across the road would of got my money worth Food: 1/5 | Service

For many years we supported the Nut and Squirrell as a friendly eating place. Recently we revisited to meet up with friends and found a decline in service and quality of food, and very few customers. Table service was non existent and food was of poor quality and we were very disappointed.

I booked for a group of 13 for lunch and had given them the pre-ordered menus as requested. We arrived, a table wasn’t ready for us despite having received an email the day before reminding us of our booking and to arrive 15 minutes early! The pre-ordered menus were eventually found and we waited 1 hour 15 mins for our food. Dreadful service. Most of the food was ok but some of the chicken was inedible and a starter arrived half way through the main. We asked to see the manager and requested a discount on the poor service we received but there was no manager available and the lad at the till did not have the authority to give us a discount. We have been having our twice yearly get together at the Nut and Squirrel for over 15 years, service has at times been less than satisfactory but never as bad as this last experience, needless to say we will not be going back there again.

It was an awful experience. I was trying to enjoy my friends birthday. But the customer service and food was bad. We ordered surf and turf. They initially brought steak with onion rings with no seafood very poor quality. The place was almost empty and yet they made life difficult to force us to sit in a small table. They were plenty of spare bigger tables having spent almost £50 pounds. We would not recommend this place. We were really disappointed with the way the treat punters with their policy.

Lovely food (although they could serve it on warm plates...). Staff always welcoming and a nice atmosphere with a mix of people of different ages. Prices are very reasonable. We will be going again in September.

Tallyn, Ben, Dan, Harry and the whole team are absolutely pleasures to be around. Tallyn goes out of her way to make you feel welcome and comfortable. She goes above and beyond to make special moments even more special. We came in for my partners birthday for some dinner and she went to the trouble of putting a candle in. Although it was only a small act, it really brighten the day up. Would happily bring family and friends here time-and-time again.

Mixed Experience at the Nut and Squirrel Pub in Milton Keynes I visited the Nut and Squirrel pub in Milton Keynes last Saturday, and my overall experience was quite average. There were both positives and negatives to note during my visit. On the positive side, there were plenty of seats available, and most of the bar staff were polite and attentive. Upon arrival, we were greeted by a very pleasant bartender who efficiently served us our wine and drinks, setting a positive tone for the evening. However, the experience took a downturn when a significant incident occurred at the bar. A loud crash was heard, followed by a young staff member storming out of the pub and forcefully pushing the front door open. This behavior was completely unacceptable and potentially dangerous, as someone could have been injured if they were on the other side of the door. It was evident that this was not an isolated incident, as other patrons at the bar remarked on similar behavior from this staff member in the past. Despite returning to the bar later in the evening, the attitude of this staff member remained unpleasant, leaving a negative impression on our overall experience. It's disappointing to encounter such behavior from a member of staff, as it detracts from the enjoyment of visiting a place like the Nut and Squirrel. Additionally, I found that the drinks were priced on the higher end for a pub, which was a bit of a letdown considering the average experience overall. In conclusion, my visit to the Nut and Squirrel pub was marked by some positive interactions with friendly staff, but unfortunately, it was also marred by the disruptive behavior of one staff member. This inconsistency in service and the higher pricing of drinks detracted from what could have been a more enjoyable experience.

I love coming to the nut and squirrel. Staff are curteous and friendly. They have a new food supplier and the food is plentiful and tasty. Lasagne amazing and caramel cheesecake is out if thus world

Situated beside a supermarket, the location is not great. Plenty of space inside but a little soulless as with most new build pubs.

Went in and asked if they were still serving food . Was told yes and shown to a table. My husband went to order the food only to be told we can't cook what you want as one of the ovens is down. Everything my husband tried to order could not be cooked...we left 🙃

friendly staff However, ordered food using app and waited at least 30 mins. The pub was NOT busy; we could see about 5 tables where people were eating. We had ordered 3 burgers with cheese and bacon, and 1 sausage and mash. When the food finally arrived, the burgers were missing the cheese and bacon, the chips and burgers were luke warm. tHE MASH LOOKED LIKE IT HAD SAT UNDER THE HEAT LAMPS FOR ABOUT 30 MINS. A member of staff came out to say 'just noticed we missed the cheese bacon on your burgers. Will bring them out separately and bring some fresh chips too'. Again, we waited...burgers getting colder by the minute! 5 minutes later cheese and bacon arrived. NO CHIPS! Mentioned to the staff that brought the cheese and bacon. Another wait for the chips! So, we were not impressed. This was my first and LAST time to visit the N&S. Also, in the dining area, there is some remodeling work going on that is quite open to the dining area. Does not look good at all! As well, when we drove up, we noticed the appearance of the building is shabby and looks unkempt with paint flaking off of every surface of the building. To cap it all off, a dog was roaming freely in the pub whilst we were there.

Our first visit, but not our last! Lovely food, reasonably priced &friendly, efficient staff! Brilliant experience!
