Rude staff rushed us to order when there were plenty of seats and it was not even crowded (the previous customers’ drinks on our table was not even cleared) - when we were still looking at the menu and tried to order tap water in the meantime whilst telling them to give us more time they demanded that we should order an actual food/drink right then and there as “there are other customers looking for seats”. My friend and I do not drink alcohol due to personal reasons but we did not feel comfortable telling them that at that moment because of our encounter.

Eaten a couple of times but not on last visit, it wasn't a great experience. Drinks are cheap, great location, Toilets are location in a silly position, up the stairs and furthest place away from bar, it's a hike. This pub gets hammered with visitors from Lime street station and it never feels like it's been cleaned thoroughly, tables are always sticky and toilets not much better, makes you wonder what the kitchen is like, hence no food. Stick to bottles.

Always a busy pub due to it being located in a busy train station. Food is poor quality these days (I think that's Wetherspoons in general these days) and I had the worst pint of Guinness I've had in my 20 years as a Guinness drinker. I recommend bottled drinks as I don't think they clean the pipes very well. Can't fault the staff though, absolutely superb under difficulty circumstances.

I can't actually believe the experience I had here last Sat 16/11/24. I ordered 2 different pannini's for myself and partner. When the first girl came, we politely told her that both orders were incorrect and attempted to show her which ones we ordered. The place was loud so there may have been difficulty understanding but it was almost as though the issue was at ours. The girl then walked away with the food and we assumed she would be returning with the correct order. A second girl came over and said "are you the people who changed their order?". We explained that we hadn't changed the order and that it was the wrong order, we were met with frustration and were accused of being rude, we where in no way Rude, a 3rd staff member approached us while we where chatting amongst ourselves again met with sheer rudeness and telling us that "wr couldn't speak to staff like that" we and our friends became confused about what was actually happening when our right order eventually arrived this is what it came like.. tell me this isn't the original pannini they got wrong and that this wasn't done on purpose ! Plus I had to pay the extra £1.52 for the bacon I Know I ordered only to be re-served inedible food!

I went for the large English breakfast which was fine even though the fried eggs were typically not done that well. It would have been nice to have some jam or marmalade for the toast. My son went for two toasted sandwiches and hot chocolate. We appreciated the free refills here. For coffee, I tend to go for the espresso and then fill the mug up with hot milk. Delicious. I give this a one star for service, as I found the staff to be basically dishonest, rude and down right argumentative over something one of them got wrong. Wow what a disastrous experience. Had a fab weekend for my daughters hen party and called here before heading home. Ordered face to face with a bar person. American style pancakes with the berries, came without. Already paid for the meals, pancakes just came with syrup asked for the berries and was told WE ordered wrong and had to pay 69p yep 69p for the berries as WE had ordered wrong. I asked that they provided the berries as it wasn’t our mistake. Well, a young lad argued and basically said we wouldn’t get our order without paying the 69p. Even the female manager said where do we think the 69p would come from if we didn’t pay. My daughter in law (who ordered them) had a refund and they refunded the correct amount for the American pancakes with berries which we apparently hadn’t ordered, work that one out Mr Wetherspoon 🤣😳 one of the staff even put on a body cam yep a body cam what a joke over berries !!!!!! Such a shame to end the weekend on. Then I left my phone in the loo had to return for it and thankfully there was a very honest person who handed my phone to the staff. So thanks whoever ever that kind person was, because the Staff need to take a leaf out of your book 😳

Being a Friday, it was busy when we went for an early dinner with people having post-works drinks, but we still managed to get a table with no problem. We always head for Wetherspoons when visiting a new town or city to try it out and I invariably have fish and chips if dining there. Another reliable good Spoons. Breakfast service was impressive.. as usual - really well presented, tasty breakfasts arriving within 10-15 mins of ordering with a place that was full and lively. Tables cleared and cleaned without any fuss. Great staff.

Wanted Gammon and Chips - told they didn’t have it but the Ham and double egg was similar. Only thing similar about it is that it’s ‘pork’. Portion size was embarrassing … however the price was cheaper. Happy with the meal just not the portion size.

What a great way to start your day. The food was excellent for the price and the atmosphere was wonderful. We were staying at the Radisson hotel next door but were given the wink about The North Western. Brilliant.

I do like Spoons pubs generally. This one is extra special as its a grade 2 listed building and EX Hotel. It is packed with grand designs and architectural features and its probably the largest spoons in Liverpool. It can be very busy particularly on weekend afternoons as its a convenient stop by Lime street station but the service is normally pretty good and the staff are friendly. If you want foods its probably average but food prices are pretty good. I like the wide selection of cask ales and international beers. Prices are higher than smaller Spoons but it is city centre and the cask ales are good value.

Breakfast is highly recommended. The traditional English breakfast is affordable and tastes authentic. All kinds of coffee can be refilled with unlimited cups. The decoration atmosphere is also classic and elegant.

Typical Wetherspoon in a lovely old building, utter chaos inside with tables loaded with empty glasses, staff who look miserable, Tables and chairs scattered all over the place. If it's cheap-ish food & drinks but no atmosphere, then it's pefect

Bar staff are not watching who is at the bar first so people were pushing in. I mentioned that the man next to me was next , then me and not the woman he was serving, he looked at me like i was a trouble maker, did not apologise and i felt really overlooked, not good service and it wasnt even busy, poor, feel like i probably wont return even tho the drinks are cheap, rather pay extra for better manners x

My friend and i go here every month, (two old pensioners) Cant find fault at all. We would like to thank Duty Manager Kelly, and her staff for their service, with smiles. Very quick service, good food. Two beef lasagnas with salad and two bowls of chips and two beers £33, cant moan about the prices. Once again Thank you Kelly and your staff.

Do not eat at this site. I've been coming in & out for years whilst I travel, never ate here until yesterday. Ordered a ham and cheese panini and have spent the entirety of last night being sick & this morning, which is a massive problem considering I have a funeral today. So management please do give your cook a big pat on the back for that.

The food was okay, we both had a large breakfast with lemonades. Majority of the tables had nobody sat on them but they were all full of plates and cups that weren’t moved for a long time. The food didn’t take too long to arrive but it was just the uncleanliness that made the experience not as good as it could have been but everything else was good :)

As early for our train popped in here for a quick drink. Initially very crowded and noisy but as you got further back place became much quieter and plenty of tables. Bar service was quick and able to enjoy our drinks before catching our train home.

I use this outlet everytime I leave the gym, but today you've lost a customer. I have muscular dystrophy and needed the toilet. I asked one staff member if you had disabled toilet, and he pointed me to the ground floor area. I asked the counter staff where the disabled toilets were, as his colleague said they were at the side of the counter down a short alley. The staff member said "I don't care" go to John Lewis. Nice! Won't be back.

The main reason we chose this place is that it's is supposed to stay open until 20:00. However, just before 19:00, we were told that the system is down and that they are need to close for the day. I really do not understand what's the connection between the system and us sitting at the cafe after ordering drinks and food for 4 people. And even then, at least offer some kind of compensation for our time and money that we spent there. I try to give people the benefit of the doubt, but after all, bad customer service is the norm in this city, and I'm almost certain that the staff simply wanted to go home early and did not care about us. Not going to visit ever again.
