Love and Rockets in Liverpool

Disappointed. Fries were cold. When the warm replacement fries arrived, they were just the original, microwaved. Bullets. Smoking allowed in the eating area. Surely not- there are 3 walls. It's not outside. Left as soon as a smoker lit up.

Realmente decepcionado. Las papas estaban frías, cuando sacaban las calientes, eran las frías en el microondas. Gente fumando a nuestro alrededor. No estábamos al aire libre (3 paredes a nuestro alrededor) por lo que no debería permitirse.

Mientras continúo con mi meta de comer en cada lugar en Lark Lane, hoy le dimos una oportunidad a Love and Rockets. Fácilmente uno de los mejores lugares sobre si te gusta la comida de estilo americano y un buen ambiente. El interior es muy agradable y grande, así que un montón de variedad de mesas con televisores que muestran el deporte también. La comida salió tan rápido y los precios eran grandes para porciones tan grandes. Aquí probamos la hamburguesa con patatas fritas, que era bueno. Las patatas fritas cargadas con tocino y queso eran absolutamente delicioso, salsa de queso encantador y porción grande. También tuvimos una pizza pepperoni, pero le añadimos pollo. Tengo un montón de pizza, pero esto era de primer nivel, a un gran precio también. Absolutamente regresaré.

Absolutamente increíble comida de sobra y buenos precios, probablemente la razón por la que estaba ocupado a las 2 : 30 un lunes por la tarde, no se ven muchos lugares todavía prosperando en los negocios en este momento del día, la comida era increíble honestamente yo como chef, presentado muy bien y caliente, sabroso, todos nosotros dijo lo mismo, el personal del piso también genial, defo volver gracias

Love and Rockets is an incredibly busy pub and restaurant. We were lucky to miss the queue at this popular venue and the barman was super friendly and helpful. The cocktails were excellent and the beer selection is good. If you manage to get a table, sit right down as it’ll go in a flash.

Mediocre food arrived cold, an hour after ordering. Avoid.

Even in the back of the bar the music is loud can't hear what people are saying.

When we arrived we were told that the food would be an hour, which was totally fine, ordered a couple drinks and waited an hour, we saw multiple people come in after us and get their food so we checked up on it, they’d lost our order so it had never been sent to the kitchen, it took the staff over 20minutes to find this out. The main complaint here would be if this happened in my establishment you would offer a full refund and some drinks, all that we were offered was a couple drinks whilst we waited for our food, we declined and asked for a refund and they were happy to provide this… the whole experience was more unfortunate than anything but should have been handled better by the right arse manager, 2 drinks for and hour and half wait? Poor

Ordered £50 worth of food which took well over an hour to arrive. The food was just not worth the price or wait. We didn't receive any acknowledgement of how long it took, not even a sorry from anyone. They didn't warn us how long it would take. £50 for over an hours wait, you'd expect even a free drink for that or maybe an extra side (not that it'd be worth it). Wouldn't recommend, won't be back.

Normally a pretty good choice. Staff were extremely unhelpful in regards to closing the kitchen without warning. How does a bar not know when their kitchen reopens? We were in a position where we have a 2 month old and a mother who needed to eat, which is made harder when they say the kitchen reopens in 20 minutes and then after that 20 minutes elapses say it's another 20

Complete shambles!! Ordered food and 1hr and 40 mins later I asked where it was to receive utter abuse from staff who said it was busy and they were short staffed. That is not my problem! I paid £40 for food which never arrived. The on shift manager supposedly refunded the amount to my card. When I confronted the manager they just provided excuses and not ONCE apologised for the mistake. When I pointed out the fact I paid and received nothing they just looked like a deer in headlights. Never received the refund. £40 paid for absolutely nothing. Shambles!!

Walked in and it just felt good. Great drink selection and really tasty menu. Nashville Hot Chicken burger with black truffle and Parmesan fries was ridiculously good. Treat yourself with a visit, well worth it 👍

To many dogs in a pub, little dogs on the tables, kitchen staff using the toilet and not washing their hands 🤮🤮 Food is average 😕

One of the best restaurants on Lark Lane with such a gorgeous atmosphere. The truffle Parmesan fries were flavourful however didn’t taste freshly cooked. A wide variety of drinks on tap and non alcoholic too. Highly recommend the Mexican street corn and the Bob Marley pizza!!

Could be the best pub on lark lane. Best in the summer, great outdoor area.

Came at around 2:30pm to order some food as the menu states food is served from 12pm- 9pm. When we got there we were told that food isn’t currently on and to wait 30 minutes. 30 minutes later we seen food coming out being served to others so we joined the queue to order food. We were then told again that food isn’t being served and to wait again. This was done with no explanation and other people were being handed food. Don’t really understand this but it was a big waste of time and doesn’t make any sense as the menu clearly states food is served from 12-9.

Tried this place several times and it has always been a great atmosphere, great food and generally pleasant place to be. Staff are excellent especially IZZY :)

Great food, really surprisingly tasty. Only downside is it is bar service and it can be super busy. Really cosy atmosphere with a wood burning stove, football is playing on the tvs and staff are always really friendly. Great place to come with friends.

A bit pricey, but food servings are quite large. Taxidermy decor is offputting. Good vibes.

I’ve never written a review or complained but genuinely so disappointed with the 40 minute wait time (it was very quiet) poor service, ice cold chips and burger which was burnt! We ate as much of it as we could because we were starving after waiting so long. None of the staff came to ask how the food was, so at the end of the meal we explained, we had to ask for a refund the staff didn’t offer us one , we only got £2 off our nearly £20 meals and no apology. We came here for a celebration and left very unhappy. DO NOT RECOMMEND.

Very busy when we arrived. Lots of food orders all at the same time so we had a bit of a wait before our food arrived. When it did it was hot and well cooked. It was also very delicious. Great selection of drinks too. Will definitely come back.

Service is so slow when ordering drinks. They have a huge bar and only utilise a fraction of it on their busiest nights. Lucky to wait less than 15 minutes to order at the bar

Vaya... bueno, este establecimiento es una joya escondida en la corona de Lark Lane, espacioso con un ambiente fantásticamente bohemio. En primer lugar el personal... servicial, amable, informativo y deberoso... En segundo lugar la comida, éramos un grupo de cinco que iban desde preadolescentes hasta septuagenarios, con una gran cantidad de quisquillosidad entre nuestras filas y todos encontramos un plato adecuado y luego algunos... Cada bocado una alegría, nos sobre pedido masivamente (nada pequeño sobre los "platos pequeños" 😂😂😂) pero el personal extremadamente atento nos proporcionó instantáneamente cajas para llevar sin avisar. En tercer lugar, el precio... Tuve que revisar afuera para asegurarme de que realmente estaba en Lark Lane, barato como papas fritas (ya sea la variedad de papas fritas cargadas o trufa) Volveré nuevamente en un futuro muy cercano. Bien hecho en Love and Rockets 👏👏👏👏👏

Fui a almorzar para celebrar el cumpleaños. 14 / 09 / 12 @ 12 pm. La comida era preciosa, la presentación y el lugar de sabor. Las comidas eran inesperadamente grandes, así que muy buena relación calidad-precio. El personal era amable y servicial y el lugar tiene un ambiente muy bueno. Familia de 5 personas con edades comprendidas entre 12 y 74 años . Iré de nuevo.

personally i would rate this as one of the best spots on lark lane. plenty of seating both indoors and outside, a good and busy atmosphere, and a good vibe for food/ drinks or both! lots of food options with good portion sizes and fair prices. The pizzas are soo yum. definitely recommend if going to lark lane!

I’ve just moved to the area and this was the first place I came for a drink. Such a vibe. Can’t wait to make this my new local.

Was really looking forward to eating in here for a belated birthday meal. Ordered food it took up an hour to arrive had to chase it up at the bar. When we got our food the majority of it was stone cold we could only eat our burgers these were lukewarm and we was really hungry by this point. No one asked us how our meals were, staff did not seem interested walked past us several times. Didn’t want to ruin the night more so we left very disappointed as this restaurant looked nice for a birthday meal. Paid nearly £60 for food that we didn’t enjoy.

The driest most bland salt and pepper fries I’ve ever had in my life. Literally stale oven chips with a load of raw chilli & spring onion on. Out of the 3 staff members I interacted with not one of them smiled. Waitress asked do I want cutlery with my food…………..

This lively bar on Lark Lane is a good place for a casual drink with friends. There is a good selection of drinks, cocktails, and beers on tap, and dogs are welcome in the outside seating area. When we arrived late Tuesday afternoon there were a handful of tables to sit at outdoors but most had empty glasses or plates on them. However, inside the pub was very clean, with modern decor. The menu at Love and Rockets has mainly pub-style dishes: chicken wings, loaded fries, salads, and burgers. There are several vegetarian options to choose from. Unfortunately when we visited there were a many items unavailable (all of the pizzas, the halloumi burger), but our second (or third!) choices were tasty. We enjoyed the barbecued sweetcorn but the taco salad bowl was too greasy for our liking. The portions are plentiful, so although this isn't a place for cheap eats, you get a good amount of food for the price you pay.

The burgers were pretty poor. Cheap meat, cheap buns. Wetherspoons quality but without the Wetherspoons price. The service was terrible. When I ordered at the bar, rather than walk to the counter so she could hear me, the server stood by the till and shouted over, across another customer who was ordering from a different server. Unsurprisingly she couldn’t hear me, but rather than take a few steps over she just stood by the till. Had to repeat my order 3 times. Not even the minimal level of effort. Nice venue but I wouldn’t go back.

No air-con and it is sweltering on a hot day.

The food took a while to be served , also my salad was filled with alot of jalapeños which I hate as it never said it was in the salad , I could not enjoy it at all ,also the chicken Caesar salad had to much Parmesan cheese all over it .

Every time we visit lark lane we always call in love this place, and now they have a outside area it's even better.

Had a business meeting here. Relaxed atmosphere, great staff. Food was delicious, had char Sui chicken tenders, reasonably priced and well seasoned. The door staff we great, polite and well presented. Overall, a great evening, highly recommend

So we came here based on recommendations they had Lonkero (gin in a tin as it seems to be referred to in Liverpool). Both the original and the newer pineaple flavour. There was a deal 5 cans for £23 and they came in a big ice bucket. Lovely outdoor area, service was Nice. Had a really lovely time thank you. I may be biased as a Finn but Hartwell Lonkero over ice alfresco is the perfect day!

Look these places are needed and I never yuk somebodies yum, but ain't for me it wad averagely experience all round. Some will lobe it though so each to their own

Nice place, food nice(eventually), but service wasn't good on our visit. Ordered our food at the bar, 5 meals, and wasn't told there was a 30 minute wait. When we asked a member of staff (after about 25 mins), where they were, we were then told they would be with us within the following 15 minutes, as there was a 30 minute wait! So a 45 minute wait in effect! Not great! 5/10

There are no words to describe what happened in 2024 at this supposedly forward-thinking establishment in Liverpool. My friends and I, two couples, were turned away from dinner tonight because my black friend was wearing a tracksuit. We promptly left and dined elsewhere. On our way back, we saw three white men exiting the restaurant, all in tracksuits. When we questioned the security guard about this apparent double standard, his response was, 'They've been here since 5 PM.' If there's a dress code, it should apply consistently and from the start—no exceptions. Respect should be shown to everyone, irrespective of their race or ethnicity. Please learn to treat all customers with fairness and dignity.

Title: Evident Racial Discrimination Rating: ★☆☆☆☆ (1/5) During a recent visit to the restaurant with my girlfriend and another couple, I was unjustly denied entry because my elegant trousers were mistaken for a tracksuit. Seeking a fair explanation, we left to dine elsewhere. Upon our return, we witnessed four white men in actual Nike tracksuits exiting the restaurant. When I confronted the doorman about the apparent double standard, the response was both unsatisfactory and illogical, claiming those individuals had been inside since 5 PM. The inconsistency in policy enforcement, witnessed by all four of us, strongly suggests a racial motive, as the only discernible difference was my mixed race. This disturbing experience in 2024 is a stark reminder that racial discrimination still exists and must be actively addressed. I urge the management of the restaurant to reconsider their policies and training to prevent such discriminatory practices. Until substantive changes are made, I cannot recommend this establishment.

I had the fish tacos and honestly they weren't bad but I feel like a fish finger sandwich would be better value. Cocktail menu very good and super tasty 👌

Went in for lunch on a monday afternoon. Very quiet but nice. Quite a few dogs inside too. Food took forever, to the point we had to inquire and was then told there were items we had ordered that werent available?! All was good though. Staff were lovely and its alot bigger inside than out, its like a tardis!!! Cocktails were lovely and i will go back again.

Was there for family re-union (1 brother travelled from Scotland too) . Lovely friendly atmosphere, Bar staff were very pleasant.. Will definitely return again ..

Dog friendly, food and drink spot on

Came here with my partner for a few birthday drinks March 2023 place was booming but managed to get a seat. Was a good atmosphere with everyone enjoying themselves.

Really nice dog friendly pub with a good vibe, nice music and good drinks, but not sure what happened today, the food wasn't as good as expected. It took over an hour for 2 pizzas and 2 burgers to be done (thenplacebwasn't wven crowded, we were there around 2 p.m. ), we actuallt had to go and ask about it and 1-2 minutes after, itnwas served. The patties were overcooked and burned, and barely warm..

Aside from one kid running around the place unsupervised this was a lovely place to drop in on Lark Lane. Great beer selection and the portions are huge.

I had the pleasure of talking to Reece and his female co-worker - whose name I regretfully didn't ask for. Whilst ordering, I asked if they had any recommendations of what to do during my visit in Liverpool. They very kindly wrote a long list of places and establishments for us to visit and Reece went through it with us at our table. Thank you. The location, food and cocktails were all excellent as well. The burger I got absolutely slapped. Will certainly be back next time I am in Liverpool.

A fantastic place for food and drinks in Liverpool. It’s a very busy place but plenty of seating throughout the venue so having a table isn’t a problem. The food was great, especially the Halloumi fries and the drinks service was speedy, despite it being busy during the festive period.

Brilliant staff.made me a old cocktail not on the menu.the service is fantastic.

Atmosphere is good but the food lets it down ordered a smash burger and was just an ordinary burger definitely not smashed wouldn’t order food from there again

Good but vegetarian food needs some work. Cheese on Halloumi burger was too thick and over flavoured with the spice it was cooked in.

Visited love and rockets yesterday. Its was very busy! Food was lovely but we waited so long for it. The people we were with had finished their food before ours arrived which was disappointing but the staff are lovely and the atmosphere was great! Would return

My friend and i had a catch up day here, food was awful, served cold and literally thrown on the table(£40 worth), staff looked miserable, no smiles and when asked for a dronk at the bar, it was a what do you want type of attitude, usually we go here alot but last few times, food and service been shockingly bad. The bar in itself is usually vibrant.

Terrible service. Waiting 50 minutes for pizza and chips only to be told that the order hadn’t been processed and that it would be prepared then. They offered us a round of drinks, we declined as we were driving and asked if we could order deserts in said to which they said yes. We ordered one desert then later on ordered another. Apple pie was dire, clearly out of a frozen packet. Rest of food was mediocre at best. We waited over half an hour for second desert which never arrived. On asking the waitress how long it will be she said the order hadn’t been processed as we needed to pay for it! On confronting the waitress with the fact that we had been waiting this whole time and that she had never communicated that we would need to pay for it. She deflected all responsibility by running off crying to her manager. On speaking to the manager all that was offered as explanation was that there was a ‘miscommunication’, v little interest was shown to trying to establish the series of events, the poor customer experience or culpability of the waitress. 👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼

We like Love & Rockets for the atmosphere, Lark lane is one of our favourite places to go. My friend and i visited here on a sunday afternoon got two dishes each to share. Food came out it looked lovely, food was luke warm, chilli nachos(cold), halloumi fries(hard), baja tacos(rubbery) buffalo tenders(soggy). We literally had a bite and left it, £40 on food. The gitl who came over to clear table asked what was wrong,told her the good was cold and unedible and in a patronising manner she just smiled shrugged her shoulders and saof i'll pass it on to the chef. Staff looked miserable and a fair few looked like they didn't want to be there.. awful customer service, awful food,shame cause it's such a nice bar to go to

Really great place, food was good and drinks were even better! We couldn’t see a disabled toilet in clear view, not sure if it was in the closed off section at the back and the stairs are pretty steep so keep this in mind if you go! Other than that, it was a lovely experience 💕

Waited 45 minutes for a pizza and a portion of fries. Staff unhelpful. Tables not cleared for an age and then not sprayed and wiped down. Chips left on table and paper napkins left on floor. Definitely one to avoid.

I’ve been here many times and always had good food, cocktails and service. This week I have been twice , I got the chilli loaded fries which I have had before, they were shoved on a small plate, the chilli was luke warm and soaked In guacamole on top, couldn’t even eat them, the chicken pizza was also undercooked and very spicy. I then went again today with a friend and got a Caesar salad which was a whole big bowl of lettuce with a few croutons and bits of chicken, the Parmesan was left off and my friend got the vegan brownie which was supposed to have Forrest fruits which were also nowhere to be seen. Presuming it’s a new chef and not sure why there is no longer any table service

Food is always really nice here. Even though it can look busy at the bar, the staff are really quick. Nice to sit outside too if you can get a seat!

Great place to get some solid food. Good service, great selection of lagers and spirits. Loads of tellys that have the match on. Plenty of seating as well as a large outdoor area. It is a family friendly venue as well as a good place for groups to gather.

This is a great bar that is surprisingly quite big inside. It’s so comfortable with dimmed lighting and decor, even board games etc to keep you occupied. Food was really nice and nicely presented. Staff are also very friendly Would definitely recommend

Last week i gave the bar man 20 note, and my bill was 9 pound and he gave me only 1 pound back, and i told him i gave you 20 pound. But he was rude and i consider that as a theif, i recommend to the owner to check his workers, and also he was racist. And again last night i was there again and he was looking at me talking pointing at me. Finally also last night i still don't belive that a glass of white house wine cost 9.50 as i bought 4 glasses and the bill was 38 pound which is honestly weird so i paid but i am never going there again so does all my friends so be careful anyone from them specially at night when you a bit drunk, they will Rob you
