Went in with 3 elderly relatives. As soon as I walked into the bar an aggressive bar women approached me and said ‘I can’t serve you without an ID’ in a very rude tone. I was only actually having a soft drink but as a nearly 30 year old I found it very questionable that she thought I was under 18. Even after explaining I don’t drink and do have multiple photos of my ID she again kept her rude brisk tone. As a support worker I have brought residents into the bar multiple times for the past 10 years and never had any issue. I felt the women was looking forward to declining service which felt very patronising and confrontational.

Lovely place to vive and chill out

The music was good and the singer is really great and can seem to cover most genres. The disappointing bit was when it was closing time and how brusque and rude the staff are. Nice evening otherwise, they just seemed on the verge of being aggressive, er, you don't speak to your customers like that, or, perhaps they do!!

Awful place the food they sent from the kitchen was disgusting Half cooked burger and 4 nasty bbq ribs £18.95 was the price which we didn’t pay as even the waitress agreed with us the food was awful Try somewhere else and avoid

Amazing music bar very near Lime St. the music quality is very good which provides an excellent atmosphere. Everybody dancing within minutes. Great place.

I am a 65 year old guy i was coming in for a last drink i am 5/2 your bouncer on the door needs to learn respect, refused me entry been to your bar loads of times had a good time, , you need to train your staff there job i am very disappointed i will never come again or get an apology.

Good kareoke pub,nice staff decent pint.

Had a pleasant few hrs in here on a Wednesday afternoon, mainly called in for the karaoke and the excellent guiness ( very reasonably priced) was a bonus 😀

Quick visit with freinds,seems that there's a regular Monday afternoon locals who frequent this bar,beer was good with live entertainment good atmosphere place was busy but no seats available otherwise we may have stayed a bit longer.

Packed out! Not a pleasant experience. Had one drink then left.

We visit Smokie's most weeks when we can, as we travel from North Wales and we love it here. Staff are so friendly, efficient and welcoming. Entertainment is spot on. Always get chatting to locals aswell. Brilliant bar!

How can you not love it here, great prices, amazing staff and good fun entertainment, DJ Jeff has the place singing and dancing with his karaoke.

Witnessed 2 barstaff drag an old man through the bar absolute disgrace they should be sacked,he may have had a bit to much to drink but their reaction was well over the top.

Great place, Sunday afternoon/eve with live music and happy customers, never seen any trouble with people having a great time. Better ale prices with the loyalty card.

I am very disappointed as I've walked in as a support worker with young people with disabilities who where over the age of 18 which I explained, one of the staff members decided to judge one of the young girls which was small who is 19 and asked her for ID even though she wasn't drinking, all we wanted to do was celebrate one of there friends birthday it's awful treating someone different I would never step foot in this pub ever again!

Never go in again , first time out in months , had double gin and tonic , or should I say double water and tonic , disgusting, one star is too much

Can't believe how much the drinks prices have gone here ,and I have loyalty card which I have had for 8 years now. Got a pint of carling and a bottle of cider it came to £9.35...the loyalty card was no good after 1400...been going there for years...seems the tourists have taken over but are forgetting the working man who built it up over the years...my last visit

Such a fantastic place. Was greeted by Humphrey Bogart on the way in who kindly looked after my jacket. Live music and crazy dance moves. What else can I say other than...skin up!

Brilliant brilliant place, music is great, the door staff great, and the bar staff are the best in the city centre and finally Terry the manager the best in the business if you ask me! Anyway it's a great night out and not to be missed!!

Although it's not a bar I frequent often but when I do visit I always have a good time. The bar itself is cool, neon lighting,nice decor and furnishings including a cool looking serving bar and plenty of seating options spread throughout this bar, its a fun place to unwind in. My twin brother Stephen and I were here on a Saturday afternoon, we ordered a Strongbow dark fruit cider each,these were served in excellent condition being iced cold and sparkling and we just chilled out and took in the great bar we were in. This is a seriously popular bar ,great drinks,great atmosphere, karaoke and cheap ,its a good combination. My cider was so good ,a delicious, freezing cold cider that certainly cut through the thirst. We really enjoyed our ciders in here before we moved on and as on every other visit to here we had a great time. Smokie Mo's is easy to locate along Great Charlotte Street. Well worth checking out if your in the area.
