We asked the landlord to make a sandwich and finger buffet for 11 of us for after taking our dad’s ashes to Lamorna. The sandwiches, cake, scones, jam cream, sausage rolls and scotch eggs were fabulous. We also had tea and coffee. It was a nice, friendly and relaxed setting for us to relax and talk together as a family.

Lovely local pub with great food. We arrived at a busy time but soon served with drinks. Food took a little longer but all prepared fresh so worth the wait. I had a goat curry Rezala. Plenty of meat and all the trimmings - nan, rice and 3 sauces. Hubby had game pie - also fantastic! Very friendly traditional pub. Highly recommended if in the area. Quite a friendly welcome, pleasant garden overlooking the Atlantic, pretty flowers and shrubs. A pub dog called Pablo (I think) who wanders around quite happily! But the top, top thing here is the food. We came in for a drink and ended up eating lunch in the garden: excellent game pie, really good filling, a mound of chips and vegetables. Kashmiri lamb curry with a lot of rice, a couple of pieces of naan And a selection of three sauces. Absolutely stuffed, we need to go and have a lie down! This is not the first time we’ve eaten here, we will definitely come again

I rarely review however I feel I must discuss the ‘Famous Curries’ that the North Inn offer. I visited this very old and run down traditional Cornish local inn during a recent stay in Pendeen, many people recommended this place as the curries were supposed to be amazing. As someone who loves a curry I just wanted to say that the meal I had (Beef Madras) was no better, actually probably worse than a 99p micro curry from Tesco. Watery sauce, no onions, peppers or any other veg, microwave long grain rice and floppy microwaved naan bread. I am sorry but it fell way short of what a proper Indian meal should be like and definitely not something that the North inn should be ‘famous’ for. If you have ever eaten an Indian meal at a proper restaurant then this will not live up to the standard you would expect. On a positive note, the Pollock and chips did look nice!

If you want a really good curry then you have to go to an Indian restaurant. If you want a good curry in a pub then this has to be one of the better ones. Slightly tricky to get served at the bar as the FA Cup final was being shown but table service was good. The St Austell beers are well kept and a good temperature. The curries (choice of about 12) all come with rice, naan, pickles, etc; just right after a long days walking. The 3 different ones we had were all good, the only disappointment being the veg curry side dish, a bit mushy. There is also a nice beer garden out the back, perfect as the sun is going down.

A St Austell house. Good beer and good food in pleasant, quiet surroundings. Specialises in curry. A varied choice, well-prepared. Not cheap but I enjoyed it. Nice smoked mackerel ploughman’s. Recommended. Limited parking.

Once a month John the landlord has a curry night. Last one he had 50 people attended and a brilliant night had by all.You queue up, take what you want from a wide range of currys then if your still hungry, have some more. John the landlordis now a tv star, often to be seen with his shirt of in Poldark.

We ate here on Friday night. The food was overpriced and poor, the portions were large, but the emphasis was on quantity not quality.

I stayed on their campsite when walking the SWCP. While the campsite's facilities belonging to the Inn itself were very basic and not that clean, food and ales as well as service and WiFi were excellent.

This traditional pub is close to Botallack and Levant which makes it a good place to go in this area. We enjoyed friendly service and excellent home cooking. There's a good choice on the menu but their homemade pies and curries seem to be their specialty. It's not a 'gastro' pub by any means but it can be recommended and is dog friendly.

Reminded me of how country pubs used to be with good food and a good mix of people eating and drinking. Would definitely return.

Siamo stati in questo pub ieri a cena e probabilmente ci torneremo anche questa sera perché sia l’ambiente che il cibo sono fenomenali! Abbiamo mangiato un hamburger con patatine buonissimo! La birra servita era molto buona.

Just visited the North Inn as it is on the doorstep of our cottage.Beautiful place, very quaint and very Cornish. The curries are delicious, especially the Jalfrezi, served with rice and naan!

We ordered a Veggie and Chicken Tikka Masala as the Pub does a lot of curries. After 15 minutes our meals arrived and not being funny but considering the reviews on here we thought we were in for a treat, but sadly not.The veggie was awful, Watery, Unattractive, dare I say Microwave Meal? Mine was again watery, no flavour, no richness in the Tikka Masala sauce and the chicken was rubbery.Such a shame after reading the reviews! So wish I Ihad gone for a Pie! Shame but wont mar our holiday in Beautiful Cornwall

We were on holiday and ended up eating here 3 times. We had our dog who typically was nervous in eating places so we never bothered eating out, we were given a table in the corner and asked for the same one every time which they obliged as she was settled, it helped that the staff were all so helpful and the food was so nice, would highly recommend the Pityme Inn and we will visit again, it made our holiday

Very very busy with two ladies serving in a stressful atmosphere and yet they were great, especially Helen. Well done! Coffee was great and seasonal berry slice.

The staff were very friendly. The hot drinks were alright and the cakes were alright. They didn't rush us. The whole atmosphere was really nice and lovely. I didn't have to raise my voice to speak to my boyfriend who has a hearing impairment which is a hearing aid.
