Was told this place was good. But i had a different experience. Not only was a very simple order got wrong more than once the eggs were overcooked not runny. It was not busy at the time. Hopefully they was just having a off day. A little over priced as not good

Had the full breakfast consisted of sausage, bacon, lava bread, sourdough, black pudding crumb, garlic mushrooms and a fried egg all of which was mouth-wateringly good (£11.50) plus two good lattes at £3 each. All of us enjoyed it, the Staff were exceptionally friendly and I would recommend The Nook for anyone who enjoys good food.

Went with friends for lunch. Very slow service. I think they forgot my order as it was the same as one of my friends. When it did actually come the only resemblance to a toastie was the grooves on it. The bread wasn't even light brown. It must have been toasted just long enough for the cheese to melt. I ate half but the second half was just soggy bread. And all I got was "sorry". No offer a free drink or money back. At least my friends' meals were edible as I'd treated them.

Food undercooked and hairs in it. The rind on the bacon was think and rubbery rather than crispy and the the food was cold when it arrived. Ordered an extra slice of toast to accompany one of the breakfasts, reminded them 10 minutes after the food arrived and was then told I’d need to come up to the counter to order it. Service was slow.....waited 25 minutes for drinks despite the fact that there were only 6 customers in there! Had to ask the waiter twice for condiments and had nearly finished eating before they arrived. Was offered a free drink as compensation for the hair in the food which didn’t materialise. Avoid!!

This was our first visit. The reviews were very positive, so we were not prepared for the reality. There were not many customers when we arrived. We waited nearly an hour for our food and were told it was because someone had ordered a twice baked potato. Perhaps it would have been sensible to warn us that this item takes a long time, and then we could have ordered something else. When it arrived it was similar to the stuffed baked potatoes sold in supermarkets, garnished with two thin half slices of tomato and two thin half slices of cucumber. Not exactly worth the wait. Most of the reviews on Trip Advisor praise the all day breakfast, so that is clearly what they do well. Unfortunately none of us ordered one. One item of our order was incorrect and had to be replaced. The staff member was very apologetic and we could hear her apologising a lot during our visit, so presumably they were having a bad day, but with so many lovely places to choose from in the area this won't be on our list.

We've being coming here regularly for a few years. The current owners are friendly and attentive. The food is very reasonably priced and there are kids meals that are plenty big enough to fill up my ravenous boys.

A very reasonably priced, family friendly cafe with helpful and cheerful owners. We have been coming here as a family with two young boys for several years. I was worried when the ownership changed a couple of years ago when it was Krumbs, but I needn't have been. The Nook's owners have only improved it. There is a selection of kids meals that they happily demolish and I'm a fan of the English breakfast that you can choose what you would like to have on it and it comes with tea or coffee. There is good coffee here too, with nice touches like biscuits. It is calm and spacious with some sofa seats if coffee and cake is needed.

Good friendly staff and good coffee. The owner spent a goodly amount of time apologizing for a customer who was a little unruly even though this was not her fault and my little group had not noticed anything in any case. It certainly is usually quiet enough to sit and talk even when the place is full.

Waited over an hour for lunch with no explanation, asked several times how long our food would be and was told it was on its way. Staff/owner couldn’t run a bath. Once the food did arrive it was mediocre at best

We went to the Nook cafe this morning for a full English breakfast, well it is Christmas! We ordered our breakfast took a seat at our table and before we could settle down hot drinks arrived, followed shortly by an amazing hot breakfast with tiger bread toast. My impression of the breakfast was a generous and well presented plate of food, beans and tomotoes in small jars, quality bacon and succulent sausages, hash browns, black pudding and mushrooms topped off with two thick slices of tiger bread toasted, quality all round breakfast and well worth the money. The friendly staff were very polite and helpful. I am looking forward to another visit very soon. 5 stars 👍

We have been to this cafe a good number of times and i couldn’t recommend enough for the majority or the times we have been. However, we went this morning and the lady who was serving us (we have never seen her before) was very rude. My partner ordered a coffee and she brought over the wrong coffee, he politely asked if this could be fixed and she told him he was wrong and didn’t know about coffee (he is a fully trained barista) and then just rudely said ‘so what do u want instead then?’ all the other staff members we have met are very polite and friendly except the one we were greeted by today.

Nice little pub, was a bit busy for our first visit but luckily we had a table booked. Very first and friendly service at the bar. The price of food is a little expensive but definitely worth the price with the amount and presentation you get.
