Heel druk. Eten van redelijke kwaliteit. Het duurde enige tijd voordat het bestelde eten werd geserveerd. Je moest het eerst in een lange rij bij de balie bestellen.

Bus loads of tourists at Eilean Donna Castle made cafe there too crowded so we drove on across Skye Bridge and just after first round about pulled into Kyleakin. Discovered Nice Cafe and Bookstore via a placard. Pleasant colorful with staff photographs and art projects on walls. Staff attentive and very pleasant. Homemade soup and scones were delicious and change each of the three days a week they are open. Best coffee I have had in Scotland. Also purchased three interesting used books from their Scottish bookshelf.

We stopped by here with no idea of just how nice it was. It's closed on Mondays and Tuesdays so we thought we'd miss it, but it was open on Wednesday so we scored lucky. As described by others it is indeed a small cafe that provides work opportunities for some adults who have developmental challenges. The scones were excellent as was the tea. I would highly recommend the treacle scones. I have never had them before and they were delightful ... I almost ordered a second one!

We discovered the cafe on the last day of our holiday which was a very rainy day at the end of a lovely week. We sought refuge from the weather and discovered a brilliant cafe with great coffee and tea, plus warm, fresh from the oven chocolate brownies. This is a cafe that takes home baking seriously. The friendly service and lovely atmosphere were just what we needed and to add to our pleasure were the games and playing cards on the tables which were used by many of the customers. In the corner was a display of local crafts, cards and books. It's a great place to eat. Such a shame we didn't discover the cafe earlier in the week. We visit Glenelg fairly regularly and we'll be popping in every day on our next visit!!

Every Wednesday the cafe offers delicious home made soup and a variety of home baking. The food is always of a high standard, the people who run to cafe do a first class job and the atmosphere is always friendly and relaxing.

Lovely staff and an excellent community project. Lovely coffee, the best in the village. Scones looked amazing but we sadly didn't get to try them this visit. More places like this are needed. Wish we had been around for lunch

The cafe open only on Wednesdays and for limited time. It helps people with learning difficulties. The menu is limited and each item is delicious. We had soup and scones and everything was delicious.I think the food tastes great because of the dedication of the staff.

Great idea, supporting those with disabilities to make a living. The menu is simple but delicious. The soda bread and soup is great! Also loved the books - each one a pound.

My husband and I stopped for lunch in Kyleakin today and couldn't find an open restaurant. We noticed a little place called The Nice Cafe and decided to see what they were serving. Once inside we noticed that the menu was limited. We gave it a try anyway and were in for a nice surprise. It turns out that this cafe is run by a staff of volunteers who oversee a very nice and friendly group of learning disabled folks who do a wonderful job of waiting on the customers. We were served a delicious carrot & coriander soup with homemade brown bread, a delicious fresh scone with light and creamy fresh butter and a delicious cup of tea. We got all this for around £8 (8 pounds)!! Not only was it delicious but we were so impressed with this place helping people in need to learn skills and earn a living. It was such a nice experience. Kudos to the staff at The Nice Cafe and Bookshop!

We stopped here for a bacon roll and cup of tea. The staff were attentive and friendly. The cafe had a warm relaxed atmosphere. We bought some fruit scones to take away and they were some of the best we have had. Visit Skye on a Wednesday and start the day at The Nice Cafe and Book shop.

We visited on a Wednesday, with a local. It was excellent. The apple chutney with my cheese roll was gorgeous. The staff were very careful with our order and delivery, and we enjoyed our lunch.

The Nice Cafe and Bookshop is run by members and staff of the Skye & Lochalsh Association for Disability, a charity which helps people with learning difficulties. It is only open one day a week (Wednesdays) and serves teas, coffees, home made baking (all made on-site) as well as filled rolls and soup. The members run the cafe and carry out all of the duties from serving, baking and washing the dishes. It is a great place to go along for locals and bust tours alike. They also have a large selection of second hand books all at very good prices.

A curious wee wine bar in one of the oldest parts of Inverness. The staff were informative and helpful and obviously knew their stuff. The food looked good but we only had drinks.

We LOVE this cafe and gallery space. My daughter is continuing her mission of trying every hot chocolate she can find in Scotland and after many years she has concluded that this cafe makes the very best one! The staff are really lovely too - friendly and welcoming - and we love the space. It's a real treasure trove full of interesting things every time we visit. Highly recommended 👌

We stopped here before a hike in Cairngorm National Park. The Café is lovely and decorated with much love. The pictures are beautiful and show a variety of scottish landscapes. The food, savory as well as sweet, was very good and perfect to start our day. All the staff were friendly and attentive, we definitely recommend the freshly made cinammon donuts!

It's great to see somewhere only have a few options for food and drinks, because they do them so well. The soup and toastie were great and the homemade cakes were delicious. All good prices and had a lovely conversation with the staff. Would definitely visit again!
