I was looking for somewhere new to try that was dog friendly, that wasn’t too far away. I searched for the previous pub name as always wanted to try it and realised it was under new management. When we arrived it wasn’t busy but we had a warm greeting and had a choice of tables. The decor is really nice and cosy and our dog was given a bowl of water. We chose from the grill menu which was exceptional value and included a drink, chose Madri. We both had sirloin steak with all the trimmings including sauce and it was really good, piping hot and tasty. As it was a warm night we ordered another drink and sat outside overlooking the amazing view. We will be back for grill night and to try the main menu which had reasonable prices for food and wine. We aim to support local business and have told friends about this place, some have booked for next week already. If you want a good country pub without rip off prices (which most seem to have) then give this a try. Inside has fires and twinkly lights which will be lovely in winter. Service was welcoming and friendly and we are looking forward to our next visit. We will get a taxi so we can have a few drinks. No photos of the food but here is one of the view.

What can I say !!!! Up until a few months ago I recommended this place to so many people ..and now ..I would never think of returning. We booked the Barn for a very special anniversary party . We thought it was going to be the best night ever and planned for a very long time . So to start we were asked to pay £40 for table cloths and that's fine but to arrive and they all be creased that was not a good start ... Then we find out that they didn't even know what sort of event it was going to be or how many people attending so they could have the correct staff in , as the bosses were on holiday and had not left instructions. So just to make it short ...we had to clear our own plates ...2 of the staff we so unhappy they had to be there that their face showed it !!! Whenever we asked for things ( cutlery /Napkins) we shouldn't even have had to ask to be honest the girl was so arrogant . Then the plates ran out to be told there is nobody to wash them as the pit wash has already gone home (8pm !!!!!) So I offered to go wash them myself ..10 minutes later plates comes out. Some of the staff were really apologetic and we definitely did not take it out in them they told us its the bosses who are on holiday who didnt leave instructions..we thanked them for their hard work in what they could do for us . I was Guaranteed a call from the Boss the following week ..which I did get a few days late but she called..she apologised and I thought ok there is not much I can do she offered me a meal voucher to use in the restaurant and I thought that was a kind gesture ...did I ever receive it NO ..did I message ask wonder why it had not yet been sent...yes I did and did they reply NO !!!! Bad customer service that's all I'm going to say !!! All they had to do was send a voucher as a sorry gesture for the stressful evening that was supposed to be my special day !!!!!

Would highly recommend the Thursday steak night !!!! Food was delicious and staff very friendly and efficient. Venue very cosy and clean. Great price for two courses. Due to the school holidays the venue was a tad quiet with only a few tables booked in. That's a shames as the food and service was top notch. I hope this was just a one off !!

As we were trying different local establishments for Sunday lunch this one I'd forgot about . We hadn't been since it reopened under the new name ( previously 3 acres) and is only a 10 min drive if that ( live in denholme) . The views are great and in a rural setting . We arrived and were worried how quiet it was not many cars in the large carpark ( about 4 if that ) which immediately gave us signs it wasn't going to be good. Upon entering yes it was very quiet with about 3 tables taken . The staff were very friendly. We had our order taken fast and served to us. The food was all home cooked and fresh . No frozen veggies. The meat ( beef was both opted for ) was plentiful . The Yorkshire pudding was home made not frozen rubbish ( mine are still better ) the price was very good compared to other places around two Sunday roasts for £20 the average as been £13 each . People need to know about this place to support it from having to close down again . We will definitely be back .

Very poor, over priced and very small potions. The waitress was unhelpful to the extent that it appeared she didn’t want to be there. Won’t be going again.

Fabulous meal for all! Staff went above and beyond to accommodate my dietary needs (lactose intolerance). Separate vegan/ plant based menu which included all 3 courses with plenty of choice. They even had oat milk for my coffee. I honestly cannot recommend this place enough. It was so lovely to not only be able to eat one thing off the menu. The waiter liased with the chef to substitute dairy items for vegan alternatives so I could still enjoy the specials burger. I cannot wait to come back again soon 😊

The pub is in a nice location, and it has a nice feel about it. Unfortunately the food is not upto a good enough standard for a destination food spot. Standard menu consisting of basic dishes, such as pie, lasagne etc. The food we had was average, the starter and puddings were the best part, the main course was a let down, lacked flavour and didn't feel like it had been made with love. 6 of us ordered pie, but were informed afterwards that they only had 2 portions left so 4 of us had to order something else, altho we recieved an apology it was dissapointing, especially as we had booked a table in advance and it was only 6pm. We made the best of it and had a nice evening as a family and left a small tip for the service, but I would not return based on the current food offering. If things improved i would have returned, however I would not now after being private messaged by the manager on facebook after my google review trying to make out my comments were unjustified and un true. This is certainly not the case. I write reviews to give my feedback and my own opinion of my experience. You can't serve pie in a destination food pub with a puff pastry top thrown on and expect people to think its good!

Home From Home is one of four cafes in Kirkgate Market. I had a Full English breakfast which was well cooked and presented with toast and a cup of tea, friendly service, clean and good value.

What a shame; so much history and absolute pride of place on this beautiful high street and the owners have created an absolutely soulless tourist trap with zero character 😔 having said that, prices weren't too expensive for the area so not all bad I guess.

No leadership or management presence. Demoralized directionless staff. Any effort expended is targeted at bemoaning why things are awful rather than fixing them.
