Fancied a jacket for lunch but not on Sunday. Shared a Sunday dinner which Scott went out of his way to sort for us, over and above. All bar staff were extremely helpful and friendly too.

When to Flying Squirrel today for lunch after church service with my dear Sister. It is a place I do like going because the staff are friendly, so helpful and it is a warm, cosy and accessible place for me being a permanent wheelchair user. Today one of the staff member that I had not met before was exceptional in her delivery of service to me today, and her name is Kelly. Whilst Kelly was serving a customer in front of me, I was next on the queue to be served but another staff said who's next? Someone else jumped in before me and Kelly stepped in to tell her colleague that I was next. I did offer to wait and when Kelly was free and served me, she apologised and after taking my order and payment, Kelly looked after my Sister and I on our table throughout whilst doing other things, making sure we were alright and the food was OK for us. Kelly was quick to respond to my 'excuse me' when we needed some things on our table, and she helped to make sure I wrapped my remaining sweet potato fries very well and turned it into a takeaway. As I said before, all the staff are so friendly and caring, good customer service and attention to detail. I remember Michele bringing our food to our table and she made sure we had all we needed at the time before she lift, Kelly just stood out exceptionally, the way she stood up for me and made me feel comfortable throughout my duration at Flying Squirrel really made the whole experience more beautiful. Thank you Kelly, God bless you, and just as you valued me as an individual and made me feel important, God will value you, remember you and make you fruitful, in Jesus name I pray, Amen.

We recently had a birthday party for our son’s 7th birthday at the Flying Squirrel, and it was an absolutely superb experience! From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by Jamie and his fantastic team, who went above and beyond to make the day special. The party was set up with a fun disco and balloons that the kids absolutely loved, and we were given a well-organized, spacious section with plenty of seating for everyone. The food selection was excellent, catering perfectly to both children and adults alike—a thoughtful touch that really stood out. The highlight of the day was when Jamie brought out a birthday cake with candles lit, creating a magical moment for our son. The smile on his face was priceless and something we’ll treasure forever. A big thank you to Jamie and the Flying Squirrel team for making our son’s 7th birthday so memorable. Highly recommended for anyone looking to host a fun-filled celebration in a warm and welcoming atmosphere!

Carvery food was tepid to cold. Could have had turkey with a salad.This was 3rd visit and same complaint. Wont risk it again.

No leadership or management presence. Demoralized directionless staff. Any effort expended is targeted at bemoaning why things are awful rather than fixing them.

We booked The Flying Squirrel for the wake after my mums funeral. I spoke to Becky the week before and told her what we wanted. When we arrived a section of the pub had been reserved for us. We chose to order off the menu with a few opting for the carvery. Even though there were a lot of different dishes ordered all the meals were out within 10 minutes from the first to the last. The food was really really delicious. We then all ordered desserts which were all brought out at the same time. The service was exemplary and I really can’t thank Becky enough for the professionalism and more so the kindness she shown us on a very difficult day. Once again thankyou so so much it really was appreciated.

On a whim, we booked my step daughter's 18th here in late October. As well as the pub being excellently decorated for Halloween, the staff (especially Becky & Jamie) went above and beyond to dec the pub out for her 18th. They made a shy teen feel center of attention without being overwhelmed. All our guests said the food was good and the service was excellent. I can't say enough about how well they treated us, 100% recommend, we'll definitely be returning.

Booked in for 6 pm for a carvery only to be told all the food had run out so no roast dinner I don’t think this is acceptable I have been a chef for over 40 years and I have never come across this before if you can’t supply what’s on the menu you should not be offering it there is nothing on the menu saying the carvery stops when the meat runs out it should not run out this is not good this is the last time I will set foot in that pub not happy

The food was hot and ok. There were 3 meats to choose from. What I will never understand with carveries is, when the veg is clearly past its best why not remove it from sale? Prices are significantly higher than stated on website. I had a pint of carling which was £4.95!!!!! The place looks fairly new from the outside but is quite rundown on the inside. Beer garden was spacious and clean. Good parking. The staff very loud when talking to each other which became a bit annoying as that was all I could hear. Would I go again? Probably not, I certainly wouldn't go out of my way to go again.

Had a lovely carvery and dessert at the flying squirrel. Would definitely recommend to anyone for a family meal. Becky was absolutely lovely and made went out of her way to make sure our 2 little girls had everything they needed (high chairs and baby spoons)

The food was nice and there was a variety of meats and when they ran out of pigs in blankets at the buffet they brought extra to the table, Becky was good and we got a free scoop of ice cream for the baby.

The food was lovely, but I had a Blue Light voucher that specified a discount all day and every day, and I was told it could not be used at the weekend as that was down to the manager's discretion. This was not mentioned in the T and C's.

Millie was amazing. Her 2nd shift (first proper one after her trial) she went above and beyond and didn’t lose her cool on a busy Friday evening. We were a table of about 25+ and although the wait was long for food and the carvery was taken off for a duration whilst it was too bus, it was a nice place to get together and Millie was good at handling our needs.

We travelled up from Coventry to visit friends and visited The Flying Squirrel the atmosphere was welcoming the level of service from the bar team was excellent and the food was mouth watering delicious, it was so nice we went back again on the Sunday for carvery and I can honestly say it was the best pub carvery I have had and beleive me I've had a few in my time. Looking forward to visiting again when next up that way and enjoying the delicious food on offer and the teams welcoming hospitality. Well done to Jamie & his excellent team members for the warm welcome we received. Dog friendly.

Spent a great Saturday at the Flying Squirrel in Bradford. First time and will definitely be coming back. The team there were very friendly and welcoming, food for the event was great and the place was spotless. The bar service was quick and very reasonably priced. If you want to find a proper family welcoming run pub please give this place a try.

A really good Saturday evening at the flying squirrel. Had on a good rockin' little band called " Neon Dice ". Was well impressed. Didn't have food this time but food here always good. Bar service always friendly. Nice chat with manager Jamie. A good friendly atmosphere...good service...and a great rockin band. Lovely to see Jess again too !

Carvery meat was splendid, not fatty or chewy and tasted really good. Michele provided excellent service. She really went out of her way, she was lovely.

On the 22/06/2024 we celebrated my son's 10th Birthday with 6 of his friends. We were welcomed with open arms. The staff were attentive and they made a special effort to make sure our son's birthday was special. Nothing was too much trouble.

Since recently been taken over by new management this pubs service is second to none,always a lovely atmosphere and the food is so good,will be back again every week altogether great entertainment 5 stars

Fantastic food, service was great. My only thing was the music and bingo on the Wednesday as it was bit too loud so we couldn't chat with family. This probably would be different on another day. Our host Danielle was second to none, she couldn't do enough!!!

Went here yesterday for a meal with the family. Food was beautiful, and the atmosphere was really nice/comfortable. Made to feel very welcome and were always on hand if we needed anything. The owners told us they have recently took over the pub restaurant and it really does have a much better feel about it. We were told about the upcoming events etc and it really does sound like it's in great hands! It was also very welcoming to children, offering them things to do whilst there, and the place was spotless. Will definitely be back, highly recommended

First time visit and this is a lovely place, Managers and staff could not have done more to make us feel welcome, very clean, lovely decor, and fabulous food, our steaks were cooked to perfection. Thanks for making our Weekend begin so well. :)

Absolutely fantastic drinks food and extremely friendly service! Food was fresh and amazing size portions, staff are friendly and amazing atmosphere, Becky is extremely friendly and chatty and lovely to talk to! Would 100% recommend what a lovely little family friendly pub, coming here feels like we’re all a little family! We even got made a special cocktail by Jamie when ordering what a treat the cocktail was unbelievably delicious!!!!

Mum and I visited the flying squirrel for the first time today. What a charming restaurant. Mum had the hunters chicken I had scampi followed by jam sponge & custard. The food was very nice, with fresh salad, & very crispy tasty chips. Resonably priced. The restaurant was very clean with tvs situated about., and playarea for the children, also the toilets were fresh & clean. Jamie waited on us, a lovely chap made us feel very welcome. Would highly reccomend this restaurant with 5 stars Will be visiting again soon to try the calvery.
