The Fleece Inn in Bradford

The fleece used to be our go to eating pub many years ago but there have been so many changes and owners since. We decided to try again for the first time in a few years after a brisk walk on the moors. The service from the small dark haired waitress was excellent . The menu gave a a lot of options and overall the food was pretty good. The potatoes with the Sunday lunches weren’t brilliant and tasted as though they had been reheated. The chicken pot pie was good but the dessert of the sticky toffee sundae was not what people expected- simply some cut up pieces of sticky toffee pudding with some ice cream, and minimal amount of toffee sauce. But , generally a good experience and we hope to be back soon.

Staff were great. Took my allergies seriously and even though I only told one staff member, all who served me were well aware. They were kind and accommodating to our dog. The food was excellent and reasonably priced, yes, a little on the pricey side but the quality more than justified this. Overall an excellent experience and would highly recommend it to anyone else.

We went for Sunday lunch at the Fleece while on a family camping trip. Great welcome from the team from the moment we arrived. Clare and Lorraine served us upstairs in a private dining room. They were fantastic with the kids (and parents). They also made sure that allergies were catered for correctly. Couldn’t recommend the Fleece enough. Excellent all round. Thanks to the team.

The staff were exceptionally helpful in accommodating us as a last minute booking with a young baby. The food was served promptly and was excellent.

A lovely lunch which was made extra special by the attentive and spirited service from the waiting on staff, in particular Claire who went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable. The main courses were superb, in particular the fish dishes.

One of my favourite restaurants. The menu is great, love that it is different every time. The food is superb, always delicious, and service is amazing! Anytime we are in Yorkshire Dales, we always go here to eat, it’s such a treat!

Exceptional waiter, lovely warm environment, it was a Sunday evening so not too busy. Good choice of food and drinks, catered well for different preferences. Always a pleasure!

Regular fish and chips…. Requested fish be well done with batter cooked through,- last time we went and ordered this, the batter was ‘wet’ on inside. Despite request, batter still under cooked on inside. Poxy portion of chips also. Flavourless fish, Poor value. Wife had Keralan seafood curry,- presumably because if you can ‘see food’ you’re lucky. 5 mussels, two small pieces of fish, complained, and was presented with a small bowl with more of each. Well done! Though shouldn’t have to ask. Overall nothing special

Very disappointing. Have wanted to try The Fleece again after visiting a few times in the past followed by a long absence. Unfortunately, we didn’t take photos of the food as it didn’t cross our minds to, but I certainly wished I had. We waited probably 45 mins for our food to arrive. To be fair we didn’t have a booking and it was a busy day due to the sun being out, so by the time the food arrived we were pretty hungry. My roast beef dinner was pretty good (7/10 max. though as the beef was very fatty and if I had to guess I’d say the roasties were warmed up, but I still mostly enjoyed it overall, particularly the side order of cauliflower cheese). However, my husband’s gammon, egg and chips was sub-par (maybe 3/10). The gammon was tiny and obviously quite dry just by looking at it, the egg was dried up and rubbery like it had been overcooked and left to sit around, so no runny yolk at all. Due to a combination of being really hungry & my husband not wanting to make a fuss, he decided to eat the food and said nothing. Our dog had died 2 days prior and we came out for a bit of an escape from the house, so some decent comfort food was just what we needed and certainly not any awkward exchanges. When clearing our mostly empty plates away we were asked how the food was by the young gentleman behind the bar. This felt like an ideal opportunity to explain about the food & I encouraged my husband to be honest and give some genuine feedback about his meal because it really wasn’t worth the money. Within a couple of minutes a lady came over to enquire about our feedback and when we once again politely explained, she looked at us in disbelief, which made us feel uncomfortable and I felt like she didn’t believe us. My husband said we weren’t looking to get a free meal, but he was genuinely disappointed with what he had just eaten. Nothing more was said and when the bill was given to us the full price had been charged. It certainly isn’t our style to ‘demand’ a discount and nor should we have to as any decent establishment would offer a goodwill gesture…even if it was just a complimentary coffee or desert…otherwise what’s the point in asking how the food was? We paid the bill in full & I expressed my surprise and disappointment at being charged full price with no offer of even a slight attempt to make us feel better about the situation. The barman got defensive and the whole situation become awkward. I can only say we won’t be going there again and that there are far, far better eating establishments in the area (who present much nicer food and have a better understanding of customer service and repeat business).

Had a fantastic meal at the Fleece! First of all, the team were extremely accommodating of dog Douglas who is a Great Dane. All the staff loved him & were kind enough to give us a table with plenty of room for him to lie down beside us. The food was absolutely delicious & very well priced. Our highlight was our amazing waitress Katy who was so lovely & attentive & her service was fantastic!! Thank you Katy & the team for a great experience!

A disappointing experience. We had to wait a long time for our pre dinner drinks only to be told they had run out of our choices. The pie was very disappointing with hardly any chicken in it. There seemed to be a lack of staff. We wondered if there had been a change of management as it is usually a very good experience.

Lovely pub and delicious food. The Eggs Benedict is one of the best I have ever tasted. Special mention to Emma and Bogdan who were really helpful and friendly. We will definitely be visiting here again!

We had a great meal here for my gluten free daughters birthday and she adored the GF fish and chips and the gf chocolate fondant was AMAZING! Every plate was left empty and all meals were delicious. Katy served us and couldn't do enough to help. She was cheerful, helpful and made us feel very welcome.

Recently, I went to the Fleece for a meal and everything was amazing.The food was lovely and the service was fantastic.Our server was Katy and she was excellent. She was lovely and polite. I definitely recommend the Fleece.

Disappointing end to the meal, as we had been told that the fish special was the same price as the fish & chip offer on a Tuesday evening to find out that it wasn't, it cost £30 extra, plus initially we were not charged the offer price. One of the party has also felt extremely poorly since.

Had a lovely birthday get together for a 60th birthday, food was delicious, atmosphere and venue lovely, best bit was the staff, from the friendly initial booking to the service at the table (thanks Emma S and Immy) would definitely visit again.

A really quaint and very cozy pub/restaurant with very good regional food. The staff is very friendly and authentic, and any special requests are happy to be fulfilled. We were there with 12 people including 6 children and everyone had fun, it was a very nice stay. Absolutely recommended!

Went for a family meal for mums 60th birthday big table of 16 and we got placed in the function room which was a great sized room, the food was amazing and the staff where lovely (thanks Immy) Booking was really easy with the decor perfect for a country pub vibe. Would 100percent come again.

I was here last Sunday with friends and I have nothing but positive things to say about my experience. The food was immaculate as to be expected. I was highly impressed with the staff members speed, especially a Women called Claire. She was quick with our drinks and our food, made up feel accommodated and overall made our experience a lot better. We will be coming here again!

First class food with friendly & helpful staff, what more could you want?

Visited on the 5th of April 2025. I hope they resolve the overpowering smell (toilets related maybe but I'm not sure?). The wait at the till (to order and to pay) was rather long, but good service otherwise. Very good steak and fries. Outside tables close to the road but enjoy the southern aspect. Dog friendly venue.

The food was very good. A varied menu. Service good. The waiter was friendly.

Clare was amazing, polite and at the same time vibrant and helped break the ice.

Wow! Our son recommended this place as he stayed nearby earlier in the year, the food is absolutely amazing and the staff were absolutely brilliant offering the perfect amount of service, we live over an hour away and will definitely be back, wonderful atmosphere to top it off

Visited for Sunday lunch while we were staying in the area. Food was fantastic, great friendly service wouldn’t hesitate to return. Visited again yesterday while staging locally. Food did not disappoint again!

Really impressed. A mussel dish was on the specials board, but included coconut. I don’t like coconut. So they check with chef and made me moule frits. Fabulous service. A lovely meal for both of us. Thank you to you all for making us feel so welcomed.

The food itself was brilliant and the kitchen was efficient but the service was lacking for a number of reasons. Despite seeming to have plenty of staff on during our time in the restaurant, we found the following: - The high seat strap was broken and we could not use it for our youngest child. We would have asked but staff visits to the table were minimal so we opted for the pram for the remainder of the meal - We were quickly offered drinks and managed to make our meal order in good time but despite ordering soft drinks, the wine glasses were not removed from the table. I had gathered the glasses to keep them away from our toddler and had to ask for them to be collected. I was told they would be but they were not. They were eventually taken when our starters arrived. - My soup arrived but I had to wait for a staff member to ask for a spoon as one was not provided - I had finished my drink at the end of my starter. At no point were we offered further drinks despite the empty glasses. When I asked for another drink (when the main arrived), the order was taken but the drink never came. I asked that this was removed from the bill to ensure we did not pay the additional amount. - I asked for sauce with my main and while I was waiting I continued to eat my meal. It is a good job I did as it would have likely been cold as I had nearly finished before it arrived. - We asked for the bill after our mains and received the receipt fairly promptly but I then had to wait a prolonged period of time and eventually had to get the attention of a staff member to ask to pay. Tried to call following a request to discuss and left number but no return call. Would appear to be a stock response.

My son took me out for a belated Mothers Day treat and I wasn’t disappointed. I had the grilled haddock, a dish I’d been meaning to try for a while. It was beautifully cooked and presented and just the right portion size. I then chose the banoffee pie from the specials board for dessert which was rich, creamy and delicious. Service from Bogdan, Katy and Sarah was spot on, as always and the atmosphere warm and friendly.

Highly recommend visiting The Fleece Inn in Addingham. The food and service is always outstanding. Relaxing atmosphere and the building has loads of character. The booking system online is super simple. Thank you to All the Team you're standards are very high!

Food was delicious and really good portion sizes. Unfortunately the experience was slightly affected by the slow service.

Amazing food and the service was equally amazing - Alex was superb - served the fastest pint I've ever had! Even my father in law approved, and that's something let me tell you that!

A lovely place to have lunch with a group of 16. Very smooth process from arranging the group booking through to the lunch itself.

The staff were exceptional. Very friendly, helpful and attentive. They helped the afternoon/ evening flow. They were extremely accommodating, welcoming the children and our dog and enabling them to have the space they needed to relax. We booked the upstairs room for my birthday and I want to say a big thank you for their hard work.

Makayla and her team did a great job of looking after us for our private function. The room was perfect for our needs and the food excellent. I suspect we'll be hosting our annual event at the Fleece again next year.

An excellent venue for dinner. Great choice of food from nibbles through to puddings and a really good range of specials on the night. Wine was reasonably priced. Service was also excellent from all members of staff.

Amazing food and an outstanding service!

Thank you, The Fleece, for the hosting of my wife's funeral reception in the upstairs Function Room. The room is beautifully fitted out and the dedicated bar and toilets make it a great private space to hold any kind of function. The buffet food was excellent, as commented by all of our family and friends. Special thanks to Sarah and Katie for their friendly and efficient work in making the event go so well and helping give my wife the perfect send off that she deserved.

Special shout out to Bogdan who really looked after us and made an 86th birthday very special indeed

Lovely meal, pleasant atmosphere, friendly attentive staff.

On arrival we were greeted with friendly smiles from the waitress who showed us to our table. 1st nice touch was that she offered a bowl of water for our dog. Our waiter Bogdan was such a joy. 2nd nice touch, even though this was our 1st visited to The Fleece,  Bogdan treated us like regulars and signposted us to the specials board and took our drinks order prompty . His attention to a great customer experience was a credit to him. The food arrived arrived promptly and was I have to say the best Sunday lunch we have had outside my our own kitchen. Excellent home cooked food with generous portions and extra gravy offered ( 3rd nice touch) 4rd nice touch Bodgan was discretly attentive thoughout our visit . He guided us though his meal choice recommendations but no pushy sales he just wanted use to have the best experience possible. Nice touch number 5, I ordered a Lemonchello to end my meal. Bodgan took time to ask how I liked it served and explained that you serve a Yorkshire Lemonchello as at The Fleece you prefer to support local small businesses. Nice touch number 6 Bodgan provided dog treats for our dog and even took time to fuss over him too. Final nice touch number 7, when we requested our bill Bogdan told us " just so you are aware a dicretional service charge is included in the bill" A charge that we were more than happy to pay for a fabulous dinning experience . Not all places point this out and I have often only realised on checking the bill at home that I gave tipped twice, so thank you for that Bogdan. People are often quick to complain when things sometimes go wrong BUT forget to feedback when EVERYTHING goes right and everything was so very right today, thank you to all The Fleece Team you are doing a great job 🥇🏆

An outstanding Sunday lunch and am excellent buffet at a private merting

Our table had to be changed at the last minute, some confusion about our booking details. I think the slow service was due to the restaurant being very busy and our table being in the tap room/snug(?) and rather out of eye-shot. My guests seemed to enjoy their dishes; no one complained; but my sunday roast was not very hot. The slowness may have been due to the fact that 6:8 chose different dishes. Not typical of the Fleece.

We called in for a drink after a walk around Bolton Abbey like we have many times, we had A pint of lager and A glass of Prosecco which came to £14.20 which I feel is a bit on the steep side, we sat outside on the roadside terrace that previously was covered with a lovely awning along with heaters for the tables , this has now been removed, which I think is a bad move. As you could sit outside in all weathers with a muddy dog , also the gents cubicle toilet has had the lock broken off with no way to to lock it , and the floor was filthy and needed a deep clean.

What a lovely Sunday lunch! Food was great and the service too. Very Happy relaxed atmosphere. Had the traditional Sunday roast....cooked to perfection and very generous portions, so couldn't manage a desert. Definitely going back. The specials looked very appetising so I think a selection of tapas will be on the cards for our return. Very good value for money.

We booked for lunch enroute to Bolton Abbey and were very pleased we did. Very warm welcome from the Manager, excellent fish and chips (with the option of a small portion which is good for lunch). My husband also enjoyed the homemade treacle sponge with “proper” custard. Highly recommended and would certainly return if back in the area.

Great pub, great service. Food needs to improve. If I'm going to spend decent money on food, I expect it to be better than I make at home. Our last 2 meals there were only average due to their blandness.

Popped in for food and a drink … waited 10 minutes at the bar untill went to find a bar tender … she was on her phone / chatting to mates . I politely asked for drinks to pretty much be snarled at ! Then it happened again on the 2nd round . Such a shame as the management put so much in for some abrupt blonde bar maid to ruin the experience. Best intentions.

Had a quiet 1st anniversary meal 8th Feb. Was served by the beautiful Bogden & Anylea. Both super polite & welcoming. We had drinks afterwards where we were served by Claire who, again, was welcoming & polite. We didn’t order a dessert but the kitchen sent out some chocolate covered strawberries. What a lovely afternoon spent at the fleece yesterday for our daughters 18th birthday meal! Staff were very welcoming, as they always are and the atmosphere was cosy and relaxed. We were served by Bogdan and Rihanna who were both friendly, cheery, professional and quick to provide what we needed. My Husband currently has a very restricted diett and Bogdan was dilligent in writing everything down and made sure the order met the requirements. Both did everything they could to ensure we were comfortable and had all we needed to enjoy our meals. They were both attentive and were quick to wrap food we couldn't manage to take home with us. Thank you both for looking after us so well

The food and service was brilliant. Had a lovely Sunday roast after a walk in the local area. The waitress and bar staff could not have been more obliging for us - offering extra gravy and checking we were enjoying the food. We had a little dog with us and was made to feel very welcome with a little doggy service area (biscuits, floor blankets and drinks). Brilliant place!

Attended for a birthday party last night, Michaela and Sam behind the bar were absolutely fantastic and poured the best baby guinesses I've ever had!!!

Lovely pub, used it for family meals, work events, had a function upstairs too. Always really great service by the team here. The venue is in a great location with good parking.

Went to The Fleece in Addingham for valentines, and enjoyed the lovely Chateaubriand. The steak was lovely beautifully cooked to medium rare. Service from Bogdan, Michaela, and Emma was absolutely fantastic. Will definitely coming back in the near future.

Love it! Katy our server was very friendly, attentive and informative about menu choices. Food was fabulous! Great menu choices as well - could have picked several options! We are planning a day of food and drinking back soon in front of the fire, then in summer too!

Visited for an early valentines meal this week, the restaurant was quite quiet but everyone was really accommodating and everyone had a smile on their face. The young lady behind the bar was very knowledgeable on her wines and talked my wife through them all until my wife found one she liked (think she said her name was Makayla), the food was all fantastic and we can't wait to come back again!!

This was for a belated Christmas do, at first we had to wait over 30 minutes for a drink, which is not ideal. After that the service was pretty good, Finley was amazing professional, happy, an asset to the company. Food was really good, although some staff were not happy! Would recommend and will return.

Our server Alex was very attentive and polite when we visited for my step dad’s birthday. Food was extremely yummy and the blackberry gin was amazing.
