Nice little pub, shame about the parking. You cannot pay for parking on card it has to be cash which is a nightmare for most people these days. You have to pay to park and you will 100% get fined if you don’t pay. I think the car park is owned by someone else and it has ANPR cameras. Drinks were well priced though and the staff were really friendly. Toilets were clean.

Such a shame, outside filthy and full of rubbish and cigarette buts, even on the step in. The loos need a total make over no loo seat no locks, the tables are sticky and for some odd reason still plastic menu holders on the tables even though no food and definitely not for reservation signs!. Please someone take it over it's such a nice building, unless something is done it will be closed in a few months it can't survive as it is. The only saving grace the bar staff seemed nice.

I came here with my mum and daughter. Mum ordered Gammon with egg chips and peas. Myself and daughter a southern fried chicken wrap. The chicken wraps had no salad or sauce on it only cremated chicken which was so tough it hurt our teeth. The wraps themselves where cremated and tasted of charcoal. The gammon was so hard me mum couldn’t eat it so she just ate the chips. I no it’s cheap but you could tell no care was put into cooking the food everything was bad, girls behind the bar where lovely though.

At five to six we still hadn't managed to order one drink!! Regardless of how many times we tried asking the waitresses. In the end we got fed up and left. Very poor service. Seemed very understaffed. Although 3 waitresses were present only two seemed to be working taking orders. Not been out in a while and kind of spoilt our evening.

The Merton Inn is a great pub that I always look forward to visiting whenever I am in this district of Liverpool. A huge pub,a landmark building, the interior is superb, multi roomed,a great looking serving bar, superb decor and furnishings and plenty of seating options spread throughout this pub both inside and outside looking out onto the busy and bustling Stanley Road. We were here on a Tuesday afternoon, greeted warmly by a very pleasant member of the staff, we gave our details of name, phone number or email address to assist with the governments track and trace system and then sanitised our hands and ordered a real ale each, we chose Wychwood Brewery " hobgoblin gold " these were served in excellent condition and at about £2.40p a pint great value for money. We got a table were we just kicked back, chilled out and took in the great pub we were in. My real ale was exceptional, a pale ale style real ale bursting with taste and very easy to drink, a real ale style both myself and my twin brother Stephen are particularly fond of. We both really enjoyed our real ale's in here before we moved on and although our visit was only fleeting as on every other visit to here we had a great time. The New Merton Inn is easy to locate along Merton Road. Opening hours are; Monday to Thursday, 8am till 11pm. Friday & Saturday, 8am till 2am. Sunday, 8am till 11pm. A great pub,if your in the area most definitely well worth a visit.

Overall it's too expensive and quality isn't anywhere near as good as local individually owned competitors. Food over priced and standard quality. Better quality food in IKEA and less than half the price. Service was good. Professional and friendly. Atmosphere is the same as any chin coffee shop. Visited this cafe a couple of years back and the food was really good, value for money and the place was clean and well run. To say my lunchtime experience today was different is an understatement. There were lots of tables that had not been cleared it cleaned. I felt sorry for the two young girls who were trying hard to take orders and keep things ticking over. At least 3 tables walked out whilst we were waiting to order. I had a tuna mayonnaise sandwich with cucumber, the cucumber was extra. When the sandwich came it was clearly on value brown bread, a tiny bit of side salad and a teaspoon of coleslaw for £7..95 is not value for money in my eyes! The coffee was good but that was the only positive. Such a shame as this used to be a nice place.
