During our stay in Malton, visited this pub a few times as it felt like a locals type bar. Very friendly staff, excellent pint of beer on pull tap, good choice of gins at decent price. A bar with friendly chatty locals and Sky sports on TV, What's not to like. An excellent "Away from home" pub

We came to Malton for the weekend to see family and we literally spent it in here! We were staying opposite and called in well we never left! Rob and his team were amazing! So friendly, welcoming and all the locals welcomed us with open arms and the karaoke was brilliant! Decent beer, great staff and we felt like locals, thank you to Rob and his team for making us feel so welcome, serving great beer, putting the rugby on for us and having a good laugh with a bit of singing thrown in. Highly recommend this place for a pint and defo karaoke too

Lovely beer garden area in the back (always helps when the sun is shining too!). Super friendly staff who gave us advice and recommendations for other places in the area. Beer was good which is always important!

Enjoyed our beer but nothing else. Toilets were smelly, the other clientele were watching the racing channel, betting and swearing. Nothing to recommend it to visitors as far as I could see.

Popped in and sat with our little dog in the benched area at the back whilst my wife went into the local charity shops. Gotta agree with a lot of what has been said before (below) - I personally was served by a very friendly man indeed (I think he may have been the landlord) and the prices were okay for a village-centre pub. I'm sure there are-indeed much better pubs in Malton and, yes, I'll agree that it does have a bit of a grubby look to it; especially the outdoor seated area with water-filled ash trays and un-swept floors. Definitely ‘a locals’ place, which is okay for a quick stop-off pint. Very close to a supermarket and lots of smaller, town centre shops and places to eat.

Popped in for a beer one afternoon and it was not too bad in here. They had a few real ales in on tap but not a large selection. There is one nice little section of the pub (if you turn right as you walk in the door) which is a really comfortable place with nice seats and a fire place. the rest of the pub is rather bare. The staff were friendly and polite. I feel that this pub is very much a locals pub and I felt a little out of place as a result. I think that there are better pubs in Malton.

always a friendly welcome, lovely little room at the back with open fire. Dog friendly and I hear it is child friendly even though some customers are not too happy about this. However, i didnt take my dog or children. Food okay and some interesting meals on the menu

Pub toilets filthy. Staff attitude leaves a lot to be desired. Doesn't look like the "beer garden" has been swept in months and the rooms are even worse. Really really old and dated and paint flaking, mould in the bathrooms etc. Just stay elsewhere.

Enjoyed great food and beer in the beer garden , 28 degrees, and Ron and Shell could do no wrong.I would recommend the Steak and Ale pie, and the next time, we are in Malton it will be first on the list !

Lovely local pub where we had a great Sunday lunch with enormous portions of fresh veg. My chicken breast was a bit dry and over cooked but a very good lunch in a local pub full of locals busy enjoying the local racing. Good atmosphere.

We were in the Malton area for 2 days and went into the Globe just after lunch on the first day and found it a real friendly local without any of the silences that sometimes greet newcomers.

Stopped In Malton after a long drive before heading off to spend the weekend with Friends. Never been to Malton before. Very busy roads right through the centre of the little town with extremely heavy vehicles blocking the narrow roads as they passed through. The New Globe was surprisingly clean and served a good hot cheap lunch. No complaints for value as good size portions freshly cooked and piping hot. Friendly people.Toilets were very clean and fresh.

Myself my husband and his parents travelled down to malton to view a fishing lake where my husband can fish tomorrow, approx 2pm today we were searching for somewhere to go and have something to eat and then somewhere to stay on the night. We were so tired the sun didn't help but we were feeling drained and needed some food.We drove past the new globe and couldn't find anywhere to park We eventually found the tiny carpark around the back of the building, had just parked up !!!! Very tired and relieved to be finally going to get some food.We got out of the car and awaited for my husbands parents to park up, we started to walk to try and find how to get around to the entrance. This dark haired lady wearing glasses pulled up, I have never been spoken to like this in all my life !!!! Said please Bare in mind I cannot write down the way this was said, the looks and the manner. Are you using the pub don't park here how dare you park here, we didn't get the chance to reply before getting the worst looks and the worst attitude ever, I said yes but I am unsure If we should now,Are you the manager, she said yes I am like as if that made her better !!!!!!! I looked at my husband and mother in law and said well you have put us right off using your pub as I don't feel like going in now, expecting her to at least apologise. She didn't apologise or say anything other than give us filthy looks.I have had better service off the teenager in McDonald's Please don't ever use this pub I think they need some people skills A couple walked out and said that was terrible, but you wouldn't want to go in anyway and pointed us in the direction of a lovely little pub where we are staying tonight
