Cannot fault our experience at The New Forest...The food and service was 5 star! We celebrated a 60th Birthday with 26 family members and the event was fabulous, from our first contact to us leaving we had a brilliant time and felt very well cared for. Catering for so many guests and taking it all in their stride, very professional, friendly and efficient. Our food arrived all together, was hot and everyone of us said our choice of dish was cooked to perfection and good size portions. The staff regularly came to check on how we were doing in the Tack Room and to see if we needed any drinks etc. Would recommend this place without hesitation.

We came for the scenery, and so enjoyed our food. The service was amazing, had a laugh with all the staff. Fantastic! I could not recommend more! Didn’t get a photo of our delicious meals because we ate them!

Great homemade food. Could think of nowhere better to spend a Monday evening with visiting friends. An excellent New Forest venue.

Lovely stay, cosy room with all you need for a weekend. The staffand service was exceptional- thank you. An extensive menu meant we had great choice for two night stay, and breakfast choices were good and hearty too - perfect for days out exploring.

I came here with my partner and I was completely disappointed, such a bad pub in such a beautiful area. All the food is severely overpriced for the pitiful quality you get, I ordered the 'big daddy roast' the meat was dry, i'm sure the potatoes are rocks in disguise, overall a very bland, dry meal. When I asked for some extra gravy (as it would seem you only get a drop) I was completely forgotten about. I can understand it's busy but paying for a meal for 2 people which was not far off £100 I would expect decent service. Some staff were quite rude and clearly are not bothered about their job as we saw them stood around the tills having a chat multiple times. My partner has some severe allergies and when we were seated we weren't asked if we have any allergies which is usually the norm, we had to inform them ourselves. The wait for food is astronimical, we waited just over an hour for our food and 20 minutes to even get a menu. This was a horrendous experience and will not be returning!! We were even asked at the end if we wanted to leave a tip!

We spent two nights here for our 36th anniversary. We had a wonderful time, the staff were fantastic! The food was just as good. We also loved our room. Would definitely recommend.

We stayed twice this year back in June, and this weekend, both times for 1 night. Staying in room 8 and room 5. Both very nice rooms, room 8 you have a bit more room in the bedroom area. Room 5 has a much bigger bathroom. Showers are very good in both rooms. Both rooms are very clean. You get towels, biscuits, tea, coffee, and a kettle. With room 8, we did the dinner bed and breakfast. Where you get £35 each person towards your dinner bill. I did explain that the lady on the phone explained this was the case again with the second room. Yes, it did work out cheaper the way we did it, but lucky I double-checked with you. And you could see how it had been booked "wrong," You said that It would work for people who book in advance. With that room we booked as we were sitting in the pub. When booking a room, we did on the day in person and on the phone for the next day. For dinner, book in advance as they do get busy. You can not fault any of the food we had steak and chips. Gammon egg and chips, new forest chicken, and the pipers wait burger . You get so much food for your money. Very good value for money. You get many choices of ice cream favours, the mint areo cheesecake very nice but a bit big to eat. No one seems to eat it all. You may have to wait for food when the pub is busy but worth waiting. They get your food order correct. The staff are friendly. They do check on you to make sure OK. Shelly?? Was wonderful on breakfast service on Monday morning. See you hopefully again soon

Wonderful pub, great choice of drinks. Lovely setting. Lovely staff. Food, at best mediocre & expensive considering its low quality ‘pub grub’. Will always return for drinks, but never for food. Had to complain about the food, as it was so poor. Real pity.

What a lovely welcome we received on arrival! We have spent 2 weeks every year in the New Forest for the past 7 years and unfortunately have only just discovered this absolute gem of a pub/restaurant! Wonderful outside seating areas. Absolutely spotless - inside and out. The service was friendly, and nothing was too much trouble. The fish pie, New Forest Chicken and the Halloumi veggie option were all absolutely delicious, piping hot and very generous portions. (An outstanding selection of both veggie and vegan options as well). The salted caramel ice cream was literally the best my friend had ever been served at any Restaurant so another big tick there! Biggest problem was that it will be another year before we will have the pleasure of eating at what I consider to be the friendliest establishment in the New Forest!

Wow, what an evening! Simply put, it was perfect. The service was exemplary, genuine, interested, fun and true consideration. The food was fabulous, so much choice and variety yet homemade and delicious. The place was great, loved the snug area, cosy yet intimate without being exposed to lots of people. Had a wonderful Mothers Day meal - roast was delicious, amazing crumble and friendly staff who were very good with my allergy requirements. Didn't feel rushed and have been craving a mushroom Wellington since! Definitely recommend.

Just back from a 3 night stay at the new Forest Inn and have to say that I couldn't fault the accommodation, food, staff and ambiance of the place. The room was spotlessly clean with daily attention and restocking of tea, milk and water. The bed was very comfortable and the sheets were clean and fresh. The food was awesome, lots of choice and plenty of it. The bar area is small, but the bar staff are very efficient taking orders and getting you served. The restaurant area meanders around and there are plenty of tables to sit and enjoy the menu. The place was heaving on Sunday lunchtime but it was so well organised and managed. As stated we stayed for 3 nights and the breakfast was very good, again with plenty of choice and very accommodating with slight changes accepted readily to our requests. Would definitely stay again and recommend the place to anyone staying in the area.

Booked as a family of 5 and pram. We’re greeted with wine on the table as a present from my partner for Mother’s Day. What a wonderful start! Nothing was too much for the staff who went above and beyond to ensure we had a lovely experience! The food was delightful, I had a steak and ale Pie roast which was delicious! My mum had lamb her favourite and said it’s the best lamb roast she’s had in years! My sister had a vegetarian roast which was also fantastic. My son had the kids burger which he enjoyed 🤩 The only small downfall was the cauliflower cheese was not very cheesey 😔 but overall the rest of our experience made up for it! Deserts were delicious too! Didn’t feel rushed or anything either as they do sittings! 10/10 New forest inn well done!

Visited today for Sunday lunch, must have been 4th time in as many months. It’s just a great place to chill out in the new forest, with great beer, food and atmosphere backed up by super friendly staff. We went for mothers day lunch on Sunday. It was extremely busy staff were rushed off their feet. We had lunch in the Orangery The food was not great but that was not my main concern. Whilst we were eating the room had to be rearranged for the next influx of people. The noise of scraping chairs and tables across the room was horrendous. The chairs were not picked up just scraped along the wooden floors this went on for over 15 min completely ruining our meal. The staff had no awareness of the noise they were making and also their constant chit chat together. We found it to be extremely rude and could not wait to leave. My brother had traveled from London for this meal with my mum. We would not recommend this place for lunch unless the staff were better trained in customer awareness.

Stopped by on a Thursday afternoon for a late lunch with wifey and pup. Warm welcome, friendly personable service, extensive menu and delicious food. Great selection of specials too to amaze the taste buds. Thank you.

From the moment you enter the staff are so welcoming. Once inside you get that warm comfortable Homely feeling. This was our 1st visit but defiantly not our last. The food without exception was of an excellent standard well presented and the taste was to die for.

Cosy venue, friendly staff and good food. Just what was needed after a day out in the Forest. (Did feel sorry for the staff due to the behaviour of a small child who was allowed to run around noisily, take things off other tables and generally get in the way.)

Myself and a colleague visited at lunch time between meetings at the beginning of October, when we arrived we were amused that the sign on the way in said goodbye and the sign on the way out said hello, it was obviously a mistake but it made us smile. We arrived at around 1140 and asked if they had a table available to which we were met with a sarcastic response, we shrugged it off and sat at the table, we were given the menus and the had to ask if it was table service or if we go to the bar as we wanted to order some drinks but nobody had come over yet. The specials board was practically empty, we asked to order and was told that food didn’t start until 12 so we could order then. At 12 nobody came over, so we went to the bar to order as we wanted a speedy lunch as had another meeting to get to, the lady told us she would send the waiter over to us to order. At 12.10 the waiter appeared and said “what do you want” as you can imagine we were a bit shocked by his approach, but went ahead and ordered. He took the order and about 5 minutes later the specials board had new things put up, we were slightly annoyed as there were a couple of things we would have tried on there but we had already ordered, we thought really this should have been ready for when the kitchen opens. We waited a long time for our food, we were starting to worry that we were going to be late for our next meeting, we asked where our food was and we’re told it would be coming soon. A table who had ordered after us (again at the bar as they had been given no table service at all) had their mains delivered first. We waited another 10 minutes and then finally our sandwiches arrived. The boy put them on the table and walked off and we had to flag him down for sauces. Nobody checked back with us and amusingly table service was now being offered to others in the restaurant although we had to chase it for us and so did the couple next to us too. We needed more drinks but couldn’t flag the boy down and we didn’t want to leave the table mid meal to get more so made them last. Our plates were not cleared after our meal even though the boy walked past us 4 times and could see we were done. We also thought the conversation between the staff and the assistant manager was very inappropriate considering they had a restaurant full of guests. It also worried us that the assistant manager was questioning the boy who served us if something she put on the specials had allergens, surely she should know this information or ask the chefs, this stuff is very serious! We went to pay at the bar, with our plates still on the table, as we needed to go, we explained our concerns on our visit and unfortunately none of the staff were interested at all, we left very disappointed. We frequently visit one of your other pubs and haven’t had an issue, but we certainly will not return to this particular pub again.

We stayed overnight with friends and can honestly say we all had a brilliant time. The staff were amazing friendly and willing to do everything to make sure our stay was brilliant. They all had a great sense of humour and fun. The Manager allowed us to have the Orangery all afternoon and evening for our group, can honestly say we were made to feel special. The service was outstanding. The food was very good as well. The rooms were very comfortable and clean. I normally have a problem with the mattress being too soft but here it was just right. The bedding was soft and looked amazing. We have found previously bath towels are small but again here they were big enough to wrap round yourself. Breakfast was plentiful and very well presented. I can honestly say this was the best Inn we have stayed in for sometime and will return next year as a group.

Rob the landlord was a knight in shining armour for us. Our friend had a tyre blow out last night on the Emery Down road. It was pitch black and pouring with rain. The New Forest Inn was 1/2 mile away and my friend drove there on a flat tyre. Queue Knight Rob. He came out in the rain and tried to repair the tyre and when that wasn’t possible, organised a Tyre Repair man for the following morning. He was ok about the car being left there. He was unfailingly helpful and pleasant. It’s worth visiting this lovely pub, just to meet him. Cheers again Rob.

We were heading to anther pub but came across this Inn, we are glad we did the food was excellent and plenty of it, pricing was reasonable and the Inn had a lovely atmosphere

We were given a warm welcome at the New Forest Inn, which is a dog friendly establishment. Whilst we sipped our drinks, our dogs lapped water from the fresh bowl provided by the hosts. Being a Yorkshireman and therefore a pie officionado, I just had to order the game pie from the menu. My wife chose the venison haunch. I can honestly say that the pie was the best that I have ever tasted. The venison was cooked to perfection too.

The New Forest Inn is a favorite of ours. The pub is dog friendly and the food is good. We particularly enjoyed the cottage pie, the bean chili and the chicken burger. The only down side is the parking.
