Elliotts Lymington in New Forest

It's difficult to find but once you are there you are in for a good surprise. The food is amazing, not pretentious dishes but executed to perfection. I recommend the avocado mousse and the flamboyant chocolate and coffee desert.

Utterly faultless. My partner is coeliac and they didn’t even bat an eyelid!! Staff were simply charming and the food was SUBLIME. Delicious wine and just the most beautiful evening. Dietary requirements aren’t a thing… they’re just not phased which made eating out a complete pleasure. Thank you!!

A superb restaurant and would definitely come again. Fitted us in last minute and the fish dishes were superb. The service was friendly and extremely efficient. All in all a must visit if you’re in Lymington.

Absolutely fantastic lunch. Staff were very friendly and attentive. The food both looked and tasted amazing. We had 3 courses, and it would be hard to choose which was our favourite, as the whole meal was faultless, and exceeded our expectations. The location is just off the main street, and is a hidden gem.

Exceptional food at the Lanes. Service was very good, friendly staff but not over the top. It was a Wednesday evening and quite quiet so hence only 3 stars for atmosphere.

Visited Lanes twice on a weekend away in Lymington. Delicious food, wonderful service would highly recommend. Look forward to returning.

French onion soup. Everything created and served by Nicola and Peter is always beautifully presented. Lovely people. Oh my, their French onion soup! I had tried this soup once before, elsewhere. That first try was not a patch on the deliciously flavourful, creamy bowl of softened onions turned into a soup served by Lanes. Best in the land, I think. Thank you Thank you Thank you.

We had been here bevire but not for a while do thought we’d venture back.., not sure why we didn’t sooner! The food was fabulous… I had the tagliatelle starter (melt in mouth) and pork main (divine, tasty & filling) My husband had the duck parfait (very tasty) and the beef medallions (cooked to perfection) … we were full so didn’t partake in a dessert but had a beautiful bottle of rose and will definitely be back… next time not leaving it so long! Thank you for a lovely meal, wine & atmosphere! Very very happy

Visit as part of a group booking. Atmosphere was unbearable as it was stone cold, even with jacket on. Food was ok, but went quickly cold because of surrounding cold atmosphere. Very friendly and helpful staff.

If you’re vegan don’t worry they’ve got plenty for you. We rang ahead with the booking to ask if they could cater for me and they were very accommodating. They did me a mini vegan menu which plenty of options and the food was just fantastic, best meal out I’ve had in a while. My non vegan family also had a fantastic meal and love the restaurant. Service is so friendly, can’t recommend enough.

Excellent ,,food portions just about right service polite and friendly, we will eat here again. We have eaten here this evening (06/08/2022) 3 different meals 2 were good 3rd pork belly the pork was very good and piping hot the rest of the food on the very hot plate was only warm such a shame, the staff were very good.

We had an absolutely amazing culinary experience at the lovely Lanes of Lymington. We travel a lot, so we dine out a lot. Food is one the things we struggle with. One of us is vegetarian, the other pescatarian and we both left satisfied. Everything was perfect. The food was hot, delicious and beautifully presented. The service was well paced. Oh, and that gorgeous old church turned restaurant provides a level of ambiance rarely found. If you are in search of a special place, this is it. I would, without hesitation, highly recommend this restaurant. They deserve every star. Well done.

Staff are lovely and great gluten free options. Food was absolutely delicious, particularly the pear upside down cake which is one of the best desserts I've ever had. Highly recommend to visit.

OK, so, my wonderful wife is vegetarian and gluten free. Normally this is a toxic combination when dining out. Lanes bucks the trend!!! Epic!! They were seriously accommodating, choice after choice. Such a wonderful evening. If you want a restaurant that prides itself in nothing other than the finest quality food and outstanding customer service, there is no better place in Lymington. Happy wife, happy life!!!

The service was great. The food was disappointing apart from the puddings. Not great for vegetarians, the main of baked avocado sounded interesting. But missed on quality and taste, not worth the price paid.

Fantastic early dinner, wonderfully warm welcome, great venue and delicious food. Worth a return visit very soon.

Sadly not as good as our previous visit a couple of years ago. It was very cold and the place was empty so we didn't stay long. Food was good, but portions were a little small so felt it was overpriced for what you got. Great there was an option for organic wine, again expensive though. Staff were very friendly, helpful and attentive. Not feeling we'd want to rush back.

A lovely quirky restaurant in an old school house. The seating is arranged over a number of small floors so can be quite intimate. It might be difficult for someone in a wheelchair or with limited mobility due to all the steps (there is one down from the entrance). The food is lovely and very well presented. The staff are welcoming and attentive without being intrusive. We had dinner and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The lunch menu is either fixed price for two or three courses or you can go a la carte. The menu we had was very varied and the food was very good.

Went there for a Valentine's Day treat. The set menu was good and my partner has certain dietary requirements so they made a starter that my partner could eat. The food was very tasty and the presentation was 10/10 couldn't fault any of it. The service was prompt and friendly and I would highly recommend this restaurant if you wanted to treat yourself to something amazing. 5 stars from me.

The food was very good, a 3 course meal with drinks is about £50 per head and thus represents really good value. The chef introduced himself at the table and I thought this was a really nice touch. I would highly recommend this restaurant

Visited Lanes of Lymington restaurant on 1st July and it was very good. Visited again for lunch on 29th October when we spent a few days in the New Forest. Again everything about the food, the service and the place itself were all perfect. As I said in July, 'If this restaurant was nearer to where we live we would be there every other day. Currently the best and our favourite restaurant. A hidden gem that we thoroughly recommend.

We loved wandering through this highly established local department store. Top quality fashion goods for men and women. You can really feel that you would be looked after in this store. And your custom would be most appreciated.

Sadly this cafe is closing at the end of this week (Saturday 6th July, 2019). It will be sadly missed by its regular patrons who enjoyed its excellent de-cafeinated coffee and its peace.

This place is right opposite Costas and is well worth crossing the street for. It's more expensive but is absolutely worth every penny. The tea and coffee are excellent, and the sandwiches are freshly made and amazing as are the cakes and pastries. All very civilised and very friendly staff. It's our go to place in Lymington.

This small coffee shop on the first floor is excellent. Very friendly staff and first class home made food, we had an excellent light lunch.

This place is a hidden gem. First floor of the store. Staff very friendly and polite and the small Danish was great. The toilets were very clean , as was the cafe.

We were looking for a tea shop in Lymington High Steet apart from the usual chains when we spotted Elliotts and went in on spec. Small Cafe/Restaurant on first floor with modern decor.Order and pay at counter on way in.Very good selection of cakes, scones and biscuits also hot food. Fruit scones were enormous, baked that morning. Historic! Tea/coffee comes with excellent shortbread.Very friendly helpful staff who obviously welcome constructive feedback.Well worth seeking out.

We came into Lymington Saturday morning to catch the Market.After a good look around the market we thought we would try Elliott's cafe for the first time.An afternoon tea looked interesting but they had run out of fruit scones. Plan B was the toasted teacakes.Orders are taken at the till with payment. Service was friendly and prompt.Excellent teacakes with a nice spicy taste. A nice break from the busy high street.

Many of the Lymington cafes are very similar in price and what they offer although I’ve noticed hardly any offer my favourite: filter coffee. So what differentiates Elliotts? Firstly a very pleasant ‘welcome’ as you both enter the store and the cafe (the cafe is somewhat hidden on the first floor) and also the small shortbread you get with your coffee

We had tea and the very best shortbread ever! It wasn’t busy so it was a calm and had a relaxing atmosphere. Good service.

My partner and I have visited the store a couple of times now, as we are local to the area, and both times have left the store very disappointed. We specifically visited the menswear department and found the staff, on both occasions, to be particularly rude and if I’m honest, rather snobby! The phrase “judging a book by its cover” springs to mind!

Seems a great department store. Our lunches were not bad either with good cheerful service. My wife had jacket potato with salad and I a very tasty welch rarebit. Not quite upto Fortnum and Mason but a third of the price. A good deal.

Me and my partner visit often to the cafe and travel from new milton atleast once a week, unfortunately the last few experiences we have had in the cafe have not been pleasent due to the heat in the cafe. We understand that the weather has been lovely outside but we think the air conditioning could be improved. The two lovely ladies in the cafe were very calm about the situation and how they explained.

This is a nice small cafe. They do very good cakes but coffee comes from same style of machine as Wetherspoons. No disabled access in store as they have no lift.

Found Elliotts today for the first time and it made a smashing change from Costa, Nero's and the like. We had friendly professional service, a great cup of coffee and two delicious slices of Nicola's cakes....absolutely scrummy!

We visited the cafe for lunch with friends. 3 of us chose a ‘freshly made scone’. When I cut mine open it was very cold in the middle (it had obviously been frozen) and stodgy/undercooked. I mentioned it to the waitress who told me ....that is how they are when they are warmed up. ...She was not prepared to do anything about it. I hoped she would have at least offered me another one or the choice of something else. Of the three scones, only one was edible and they had an overwhelming aftertaste of bicarbonate of soda. Extremely disappointed, especially at the price of £1.95 per scone.

We thought we would try this in store cafe after seeing the advertising boards outside on the pavement.Finally we found the two small rooms with a small counter service ,with a small entrance tucked away around a corner .It looked very clean but with little atmosphere, possibly because it was almost empty.

I have had the pleasure of having a few nice light lunches in Elliotts cafe, the coffee is wonderful and rich and the service is great. I also love the homemade cakes by Nicola, keep up the good work!

Popped in for a quick lunch, had Quiche and sald with coffees. Good service and value for money. Cakes looked nice.

This is the first time we have eaten in this cafe. The food was very nice and the staff are very attentive and friendly.

It not immediately obvious where to find Elliot's cafe as its hidden on the first floor of a clothes shop. However having been taken there by a local friend I found the cafe to be very pleasant although small. The coffee was good quality although we didn't go for the quite expensive (but yummy looking) cakes and scones. I've just one complaint- a personal hate, the toilet seat in the gents refused to stay up on its own!

My husband and I whisked through Elliotts to get to their cafe on the second floor, but from what I could see, they supply a range of high quality clothing which I was hurriedly moved past!The cafe was extremely good, the food fresh and inviting and the staff efficient and very pleasant. It was well worth a visit.

I come here regularly and am always welcomed by lovely smiling faces along with great humour. The cakes are to die for as was the salmon and scrambled egg I had for breakfast. A quaint cafe in the centre of lymington high st, nice for a peaceful morning reading the paper and enjoying some good coffee and food !
