The New Club in Brighton and Hove

Came in for breakfast on a sunny Sunday morning. Welcoming staff and great service. Breakfast menu had lots of different and traditional choices. I had the 'fried chicken and karaage waffles' and it's the best breakfast I've had in a very long time. Hubby had the 'little Britain' option and he was very happy too. Definitely coming back. Thank you for the best end to our stay in Brighton.

Roast was bang average pub grub. Too salty, hard roast spuds, tasteless veg. Beef was good. Sorry but I've eaten plenty better at lower price

Came for a Sunday lunch and it did not disappoint! The food was absolutely delicious, and the service was perfect. I would highly recommend the porchetta, and make sure you get the cauliflower and cheese.

Friendly waitresses, quick service. The location isn't great, the food was average. We ordered a toast, burger and an American fish and chips. The toast and the burger were fine, however the fish was one of the worst I had, it was covered in some kind of orange sauce that tasted of a burnt tire. I've had a whole can of red bull and still can't get the taste out of my mouth. Not trying to hate on the restaurant, the rest of the food was ok, but the fish needs looking into.

Went with family for a roast today. Best roast ever and fantastic service. Highly recommend. We had various options between us including the veggie wellington, and various meat options.

Brilliant brunch for two, served by Joe with a truly warm smile. We both had a dish of three perfectly cooked and seasoned scrambled eggs on sourdough toast. One came with a generous helping of smoked salmon; the other came with herby mushrooms (rosemary, I think) and a side of smashed avocado, chilli, and alfalfa sprouts. We’ll be back

Finally managed to visit the New Club for a roast, was not disappointed, the roast was superb lots of elements and texture added to the superb meal. We had the wonderful pleasure of being served by Joe polite, attentive, great service. Thank you, also big shout out as to Finn well, excellent work team, we will be back.

Came to the New Club on the back of some review and I must say it was fantastic. My misses had a Macmuffin that was so morish and I had the English, only grumble was a bit watery and cold but still it was great

Came in for a meal today with my girlfriend and was given absolutely amazing service by Joe. He was extremely nice and made me feel welcome. Food came very quickly and tasted fantastic. 5 stars would recommend

5 star service was given by manager joe and the team! Have had both lunch and brunch here and its a beautiful atmosphere with views of old pier wirh great service and food to match!

Really rude welcome. Lovely waitress was about to serve us for a drink outside and there was a guy who just said 'no'. Customer service training needed and a bit of respect. He could have explained politely, but he just said 'no'. Rude.

We loved this place, great for the families. Nice vibe, great food and excellent service, especially from Joe who was patient with the kids and couldn't do enough for us.

Went for Sunday roast and the food was nice, it wasn't overly busy, but the service is very poor, no one asked us if the meals were OK and we had veg and chicken wings missing off our dinners. I did notice that 2 other table's had issues as well. You are charged an extortionate price for the smallest pot of extra gravy, and when we did ask about the missing food, we were told that they are really busy!! Nothing taken off the bill for this, so we don't pay the service charge. Could be really nice if you just had a bit of basic service training towards your customers

I visited on Saturday as part of our Brighton Pride celebrations. We came for bottomless brunch as a group of 11 and felt very well looked after by the lovely Joe, who provided amazing service. The bottomless brunch offer is very reasonably priced, the prosecco kept coming, and the food was nice too. Would definitely recommend!

Myself and my partner went for Sunday roast, the roast itself was amazing, couldn’t fault it. But unfortunately that’s where the positives end. We ordered a couple of cocktails but these didn’t arrive till we had nearly finished our mains. When they finally did arrive, after asking about them multiple times, no one apologised for them being late, nor did anyone check back on our food or offer to re fill our water. We’d have perhaps liked desserts but no one offered us a menu, we were sat with no drinks or water for 15 minutes, so eventually had to chase someone for the bill. When we asked for our bill, I wanted just to flag a couple of the issues we had but was quickly shut down by the waitress as she begrudgingly walked off to remove the 2 drinks. Unfortunately it wasn’t even that busy, 4 tables inside and 5 tables outside. And with 8 members of staff on, some being on a break having a pint in the restaurant while other members of staff chatted with them. Honestly is such a shame, the roast itself is one of the best I’ve had, if not the best in Brighton. Once they sort the service, this will easily be a 5*.

Have been looking forward to trying here for ages, finally came to try the famous roast. Food was absolutely incredible couldn’t fault it. Service however massively let it down. Drinks arrived halfway through the meal, had to chase with several different waiters, none of which seemed that bothered, drinks were finally brought over with no apology. Was hoping to order more drinks and desserts, no one came back to the table after this aside to clear the plates, eventually had to get up to find someone to ask for the bill. Restaurant was fairly empty, around 10 tables to around 8/9 members of staff who stood around chatting most of the time. Mentioned to the waitress about the drinks, who took them off the bill, once paid very quickly walked off, no apology, no thank you for coming. The basics expected from any visit out, especially when spending £50+ for two. Unfortunately unlikely to return back which is a shame as the food was so good.

Took over an hour and they hadn’t even started to cook the food. Requested a refund. She couldn’t add it up and tried to shortchange us. She kept the service change. No service provided. Shocking place. Avoid!

Group of 9 of us had a lovely meal on Sunday, all off us had mixed tastes as we had a couple of vegans with us. Vegan option was lovely and the roasts looked good as well. The only down side is if you wanted to put a tip on your credit card the owner gets it and not the waiter's and chefs that is not on owner hopefully you will read this and sort it. Just remember the team serving and cooking make your company profit so please let them have there tips.

Over an hour wait and they hadn’t even started cooking our food. Ended up cancelling the order and they couldn’t even refund the card. Ended up doing it via cash. Not fit for the amount of tables they have, as they clearly can’t deal with the footfall. To top it off she couldn’t work out the refund and kept the service charge, there was zero service!

I can see why they force you to pay a service charge, because there no chance you’d pay for the service otherwise! The food we had for brunch was nice but arguing between each other about if a drink is a small latte or flat white wasn’t so nice. Disorganised, left wound up rather then relaxed

Came here yesterday for brunch first time visiting for myself, my friend had been here before and we booked a table but didn’t need to as it was 10am when they opened. We were served by Callum who was lovely and friendly and couldn’t do enough for us! Lovely brunch - massive portion sizes! Couldn’t eat it all! But it was delicious! First time I’ve ever seen hash browns as sticks! Vegetarian options are great. Will be back. Was a great experience! Thanks Callum and the team!

Stumbled upon The New Club on a Sunday afternoon. We were seated quickly without a booking and received excellent service. The Sunday roast was amazing, everyone was extremely happy with their meals and it was definitely worth the price we paid. Would recommend but do try booking in advance so you don't miss out!

Quality place. Staff are friendly and the 🌶️ Bloody Mary is magic! Great food. Must visit when in Brighton. Will be back soon lads!

Food was nice, however service was disappointing. Ordered vegan veg and was served with butter. When we told the waiter, no apology for the mix up.

Just tried the new menu at New Club and am so impressed. Really struggled to choose a favourite from the amazing Korean pulled pork lettuce wraps, popcorn cauliflower, soft shell crab tacos, miso aubergine and Minute steak with parmesam fries. Every single dish had been carefully considered and presented with so much care. Wonderful. meal with a great view of the sunset. 100% recommend!

Had Saturday breakfast after Friday night gig. Service and food spot on, in a good location. Would definitely visit again and recommend to others. Thank you! Ps try their homemade hash browns - possibly the best I’ve ever eaten!

Stunning roast dinner, one of the best I’ve had!

I visited this evening with 3 colleagues having been recommended by the information desk in the Brighton Centre while at conference. We hadn’t booked but we were lucky enough to get a table. We all ordered roast dinner, myself opting for the corn fed chicken roast dinner. What can I say, it was delicious, the best roast dinner I’ve had in a long time. The staff were lovely and helpful and there was such a relaxed atmosphere

Embarrassingly bad service. I’ve worked in restaurants my entire life, and I was really shocked by the way we were treated. However, I was more embarrassed for the owner, not sure if they know how badly their staff behaves. Really scraping the bottom of the barrel with this place when there are so many amazing brunch spots in Brighton.

One of the best roasts I've ever had. We had the sharing 3 meat roast and WOW. Absolutely incredible. I also had a bacon bloody Mary, and I'll tell you now they earned that title of best Bloody Mary's in Brighton. Fantastic!!

Best pub Sunday roast I've ever had. We had the deluxe three meat roast - all the meats were delicious and came with so many amazing trimmings. The vegetables, potatoes, gravy and Yorkshire puddings were also very good and the service was excellent.

Such an amazing meal. We shared the deluxe sharer and it was incredible. 3 different types of meat, giant Yorkshire, duck fat potatoes, carrots, everything!!! Plus it has some mini sausage roll things, and a pulled beef mini pie as well, which aren't even mentioned in the description. It was expensive, but there was a hell of a lot (could have easily served 3, or 2 really hungry people) and every piece of food on there was delicious as well. Highly recommend for a nice treat.

Sunday roast. Amazing! The beef was divine and the vegetables perfect with fabulous crispy roast potatoes. Heritage carrots were delicious. The cocktail menu was great and the Brighton gin fizz super sharp and delicious. Definitely going back

We went for breakfast 3 adults & a 4 year old on a busy Saturday Morning . Full English , The Veggie , Pancakes & Maple syrup and Salmon & Poached Eggs were ordered All good quality ingredients & well cooked the only small issue was that the food was not food was not piping hot , this time . Maybe waiting for something so could deliver all together . We have eaten here 3/4 times now & the service is good . Service charge added to your bill automatically

Honestly, it was the best roast of my life. If you order the deluxe, you get all the extra little touches, which really made it stand out from all the other roasts offered in Brighton. The extras for my chicken roast were a chicken leg sausage roll, crispy chicken skin, sourdough bread sauce, and a deep fried chicken popsicle wing. All the food was amazing and had great portion sizes. Will definitely be returning.

The staff are great, venue is good and the food is excellent. Fantastic breakfasts and Bloody Mary’s.

The best Sunday Roast I eat. Always perfect way to end our trip to Brighton. Amazing service & the most important dog friendly.

Fancy roasts here, went for the mixed meat to try everything, I'd recommend the chicken as the best, followed by the beef. Portions are good, vibe and service is like that of a burger joint or slightly upmarket student union bar. Staff are very friendly.

Just had breakfast here, very good, food was superb, staff were great, atmosphere spot on background music added greatly 10/10.

So I had made a reservation, but it didn't seem like a table had been allocated to me when I arrived. I had to wait some time to be seated. The guys behind the bar saw me and only once kinda acknowledged me and explained someone would be with me, but after some time.of awkwardly waiting. I had to wait a long time to have my order taken, my meal was half finished by the time I had my drinks. Saying this, my food was delicious as was my smoothie. I left completely full to the brim. Such a shame the service was lacking. The staff though were quite friendly even though a little distant and inattentive. I'd go back, but would probably try somewhere else first.

Beautiful brunch sat outside on the promenade. Great for people watching. Food was great, I had the pork and beans. Everything was served quickly, staff were helpful and there were good GF options where needed. Really lovely coffee too.

Visited as a couple for breakfast just after 10am on a Friday morning. Waitress was attentive and our hot drinks were served quickly. We both opted for the full English which was a bit pricey but well worth it. Two stand outs on our plates were … a good twist on beans and two amazing hash browns (2 large chips). It was well worth the money and all very tasty. Great spot to people watch along the seafront. Please visit you will not be disappointed.

It’s very popular, food was brilliant I was particularly hungry this morning so I eggs on toast and blueberry pancakes. Why I have been walking past this place for a few weeks is beyond me. Amazing sharing Sunday roast. Good was amazing, huge selection of extremely well cooked and presented meats, garnishes and vegetables. Not sure it is possible to eat it all but the staff are more than happy to provide a take home box to finish later. Great service , lovely team and highly recommend

We had seen the reviews of the Sunday roast dinners at this restaurant and couldn’t quite believe that it would be that good. Well it was. Exceptional. A few of the reviews had mentioned lacklustre service but, again, I cant speak highly enough of the staff today. They were attentive, nothing was too much trouble, and they had a sense of humour. We ate at 1pm and had the deluxe sharing roast. A huge amount of food, but all excellently cooked. We bought some home in a doggy bag! Not looking forward to getting on the scales tomorrow but it was worth it!

Amazing food, including options for veggies. Every dish has an interesting twist that makes you want to try everything. Would definitely recommend to start your day off right, or to recover from a night out before.

Possibly the best Roast dinner I've ever had. Sorry nan. I've told all my friends, they went and concured. Also the bloody Mary's are somewhat legendary. Yeah defo 👌 from me. Never mind the dreamy views and smiley staff.

Really nice place - pleasantly surprised. It was rather quiet around 19h30 in the evening because it's vibe is mostly during the day, but it still had very nice music, a great layout and the food options were really good. Kind of what you'd expect from an American themed restaurant - tacos, steak, burgers, chicken wings etc. Still, their cauliflower popcorn starters were top notch. The chicken wings were juicy and super tasty - very reasonably priced as well. The pork tacos were a decent portion and really tasty. I had the steak and it was perfectly made - medium rare. Our waiter, Felix was also extremely friendly, helpful and even went out of his way to give us some pointers for what to see while in Brighton. Should be commended. Overall, a great place and I'll come again.

Good menu and great staff. Easy going and not keen to get you out! I had a burger that was just right- tasted like a burger should, house sauce ,not to much pickle lots of cheese, crisp bacon, brioche bun not too sweet. I know it was only a burger and fries but this was just as it should be!

A great Brighton venue. You could not be anywhere, but Brighton, when you're in here. Don't make a classic mistake and go to one of the usual suspect high street lookey likely chains. You're in Brighton, so be in Brighton.

I have been many times and am always recommending it to people. The food is really great but the service leaves a lot to be desired. Yesterday when I arrived, we stood waiting for someone to seat us for 5 mins - in spite of there being 3 members of staff stood at the bar. I asked if someone could help us and was told they were helping someone else - who incidentally arrived after us. There was an issue with my reservation and staff showed zero interest in helping me sort it. Inside the restaurant two tables were occupied so I suggested they could accommodate us anyway and this was met with such a sour uninterested response from one waitress. I then asked someone behind the bar and he said he was busy to ask someone front of bar. The same three staff members did nothing to help so we decided to leave. Given I have been so many times and the food is so good, it's disappointing. With the exception of one occasion when we were served by the manager (irish bloke) the staff always seem miserable.

We came here Saturday as a large hen group. We were so so glad we booked here for our dinner. We had a £25 set menu with a welcome drink, amazing nibbles/starters and a tasty dinner. Each and everyone of us said our dinner was outstanding!!!! They even catered for our gluten free/vegan ladies. Honestly I can’t fault the food and the fantastic friendly service. Not to mention one our ladies tripped over outside and had hurt her ankle they came out with ice and a chair until she was able to come back in. Please go and visit here for dinner you won’t regret it, this is the first place Il be back to eat when I’m next in Brighton. Thanks again!!!

Had some great food & cocktails even better, only thing that let the place down was the staff, a waiter putting a plate of food down saying 'I don't know what this is' a few times & don't expect anything to arrive quickly.

Great location and yummy English breakfast! The only disappointment is the kiddy menu - pancakes were so tough and chewy… my son hardly have any and yet they didn’t offer to not charge us. Otherwise everything else was lovely.

A very good roast dinner, the staff were also really nice and friendly. I would say this is up there with the top roast dinner in Brighton. The chicken/beef are exceptional. It's also well presented. My main complaint would be the drinks, too many hipster/alternative beers. My Aperol Spritz was not nice, it was £9.50 and it wasn't even mixed correctly. It was cloudy and sour, Aperol Spritz has 3 ingredients. You can't mess it up in theory, it does not have lemon juice in it! I didn't want to complain as I already knew the drinks were not good there. Overall, exceptionally good food. Not good for drinks.

This place is well worth a visit. We visited here as a group of 7 friends for my 40th Birthday Brunch and we were no disappointed one bit. The food was fantastic, the cocktails delicious and the service on point. Food allergies catered for without fuss and the only place I know that’s do vegan pancakes! Would go back again and again and highly recommend the Double Pork and beans and the Bacon Bloody Mary. Very well priced. Thank you New Club for a fabulous 40th Birthday Brunch.

The food is of modest quality albeit cheaply priced. The service is excellent with very friendly staff. The view and location are wonderful.

Lovely food for breakfast before 12. Was busy, but we were seated quickly. Drinks arrived after food and there was a lot of confusion over drinks going to wrong tables etc. Service could be improved, but the food is great so it was worth the visit n

I've eaten here twice and been delighted by the fish tacos on both occasions. It offers some great people watching from the outside tables too, and a wide range of drinks including cocktails. The wine isn't the best. The service is friendly but a little haphazard - possibly they are short of staff as so many places are at the moment. But it's a fun place if you want an American food fix, and pretty reasonably priced.

Only dropped a star due a member of staff who clearly wanted to be elsewhere, lacked initiative, didn't interact with the customers and was somewhat slow. However, the lady who met us at the door was an excellent host, and let us in early as it was so cold. Provided us with water for the dogs. Food was excellent if any criticism a bit salty. My husband said the nachos were the best he'd ever had, an accolade indeed given he makes mean chilli nachos himself. Recommend the steak dinner too

The customer service at The New Club is outstanding. Due to a fault with online booking we had a table booked for when their kitchen is closed (which cause me to get very stressed as we had a disabled family member with us) and yet they did everything they could to make us feel welcome. They even allowed us to order food, which was delicious btw. Very impressed and would recommend to anyone.

Great menu. Amazing flavours in the Mexican salad. Service was friendly, unrushed but efficient.

We had club toast with a poached egg (recommend - great bread, generous avo, poached egg a bit rubbery but ok - better if there could be an option of scrambled maybe), Mexican eggs (spicy; delicious) and full English (all good bar the beans). Vibe was nice but the acoustics are super noisy so not very chilled for brunch. Had to shout to be heard, which means everyone is talking loud, which means everyone has to shout...!

Amazing venue, super delicious food and lovely guys. Looked after me at my bottomless brunch this weekend. Very grateful for all of their efforts and service. Highly recommend!

Absolutely delicious food, brilliant friendly staff and amazing quirky place!

I booked for Saturday night the family thought it was strange I choose an American style restaurant. Well can't falt the food very tasty and good portions the staff were lovely. The cauliflower popcorn and focaccia bread with tapenard delicious. My partner rated the cheese souffle and two of us had the steak and octopus with a wonderful potato dish we loved the large portions. The only thing that was disappointing was the savoury doughnuts which were stogy. We all loved it and will certainly be back

Exceptional English breakfast, I dearly love a good fry up and am a fussy fecker who’s tbh normally disappointed with at least one aspect. One of the poached eggs a smidge over done but I’m really splitting hairs now since the rest was perfect, crunchy bacon, home made hash browns, spicy bean mix far better that standard Heinz, sausage, mushroom and sourdough toast. Well done, def in my top 5

Really impressed with The New Club. We were made to feel really welcome on our arrival. Cocktails are super, I can recommend the chilli Bloody Mary! The menu is really well balanced and caters for a wide age group; the quality of the food is outstanding. Our group had 5 or 6 different main course choices and each was excellent. Starters and desserts were lovely too. My personal favourite starter? Go for the Potato & Cheddar Doughnuts, cooked with King Oyster Mushroom, deep fried brie, black garlic and truffle mayo. Wonderful!
