Me and two friends came here for bottomless brunch and it was a great experience! All the staff were very lovely Mary and Daisy were excellent and Ed and Spencer made great drinks. Highly recommended! Try the raspberry cooler! Gorgeous location as well by the sea and very reasonable price.

I was extremely disappointed with my recent visit to your establishment on my way to a meeting with an associate. As someone who enjoys a cold beverage, I was looking forward to grabbing a drink at your establishment. However, my experience was far from satisfactory.

 Upon arriving, I requested a specific drink, only to be met with the response, 'We don't sell that.' Nevertheless, I decided to give your establishment another chance and requested a different draft lager. To my dismay, I was informed that both the second and third options were out of stock. I couldn't believe it - how could a business not have their advertised drinks in stock?

Feeling frustrated at this point, I was ready to give up and just grab a drink from the nearby supermarket. But since I was short on time, I settled for a soft drink from your menu.

In hindsight, I regret not just grabbing a can of Pepsi from the supermarket and enjoying it on the beautiful seafront. Not only would it have been cheaper, but it also would have saved me the disappointment and frustration of my experience at your establishment.

I understand that these things happen and that sometimes certain items may be out of stock. However, as a paying customer, I expect to be informed beforehand and not be met with a lack of knowledge and poor service. I hope that in the future, your establishment can improve in terms of stocking and customer service.

Overall, my visit was a complete letdown and I left feeling disappointed and dissatisfied. I hope that you will take this review into consideration and make the necessary changes to improve the experience for your customers. Thank you.

The best place to see Cabaret on a Sunday, amazing roast dinner and always lovely service! Love the photography around the pub too! Very dog friendly and really nice smoking area.

Since the club “Above” doesn’t have its own Google Maps location, I have to review Charles St instead. I have been to Above a few times over 6 years. My first time was Polyglamorous and my most recent was Apocalypse yesterday. Every single time I go, the queue for drinks is outrageous. They are always understaffed and it takes 25 minutes to get a drink. I was going to let this be, but my visit yesterday was just shocking. If it’s 25 minutes for a drink, and you get 3 drinks across the night, you will queue for 75 minutes. If you’re there 12-3am, that’s ONE THIRD of your night wasted. I have been to raves and club nights in equally (and sometimes more) busy venues in London and Brighton, and they are always so much quicker. This completely ruins the venue, which is otherwise serviceable. Half my friend group left after queuing for 15 minutes. And who can blame them? I’m sad I have to 1 star Charles Street as a whole for this, as the bar downstairs is fantastic. And I’m sure I’ll get some response about times being tough and that’s why staffing is low. But it was like this in 2018 as well. There’s no excuse anymore. How are you so unaware of what your busiest nights are?

Wasn't the busiest of nights but the atmosphere was buzzing and the music was amazing. Service at the bar was quick and efficient.

Reserved an area for my birthday drinks with some friends. Staff are always so friendly, and a huge selection of drinks. Special shout out to the lovely Sam who helped me to book and looked after us all.

Came here about 2 weeks ago, had little one with us, staff were great, had a few issues with the tills but nothing was too much issue for them, made sure every was okay, staff were very approachable and friendly.

We always have a great time here. The food is always amazing, the cocktails top notch and reasonably priced and the staff are always friendly and welcoming. We usually come for cabaret and it is always entertaining.

Really pleased with finding this place with some nice menu options here for lunch or supper time, big portions come with a good service from the ladies behind the bar and serving area. Would come back here at another point in the winter season, good that it was not too busy.

Ángel was our waiter and they were so slay and friendly and really attentive. We had a great time and would recommend this brunch to anyone if they’re still there! They made us chuckle and made the experience the best it could be.

Came for bottomless brunch on a Saturday lunchtime. The food was good and the drinks were great. Very reasonable price for everything that was included and the optional upgrade for additional cocktail choice was well worth it and still good value. There were not many people here when we were there but worked for us as we almost had a personal waiter! Great friendly staff and excellent service throughout

Good for cheap food and drink. Visited again recently, food price is climbing but the quality is not. They now do cocktails but charge the same price as premium cocktail bars in Brighton, having a laugh. But, the place is fine for an ordinary drink and entertainment.

What a top night out! Great music. Unbeatable service from the lovely staff. Perfect space. What's not to love?! ❤️ They do serve cocktails but didn't sample them this time. Drinks were reasonably priced. Toilets are clean, well-stocked, not too sticky on the floor, and there's never a queue! Not tried the food yet but I reckon it'd be worth giving a go. Drag act was great although the DJ'ing afterwards wasn't the best. Previous visits have been spot on though. Usual tone is cheesy, camp tunes to have a boogie to. Great vibe from fellow revellers 💜

Staff easily confused by drinks orders, or tell you that the queue to get in will be an hour when it's really only 5 minutes. Nice outside area though.

New review. Its nice to see the seating is fixed and also nice to see staff that know the area. Old reviews I visit a lot of venues. I don't call them to discuss things. I'll drop to one star now. The seating in the garden is bad, broken wood and chairs. Venue was dead when I visited, didn't order food. Dead venue.. where is the gay scene or is this no longer a gay venue. Edit: as venue have taken the time to respond I've increased my review score by one.

went here for first time in 10 years as a gay guy ,using a free beer app,told can only use one,other bars no problem, as brewery pay for beers why a problem,i now understand why gay press asked where have all customers gone,surely more footfall attacts more customers,no wonder most gay people now use str8 bars,was planning to use for my birthday bash with 20+ others for food etc,now having to find a more suitable gay bay

This place offers a great space for drinks, and dance. blasting a classy modern decor, indoor and outdoor space. This LGBTQ+ venue is a great for a night out and for food and drinks during the day also. staff are so friendly and happy to serve you.

Last night I was assaulted by another patron in the garden area - afterwards they made false accusations to security saying that I had assaulted them. Purely on the basis of my gender and stature, security told me to leave and ejected me from the venue. Outside the front I was speaking to a security staff when the same man and his friends left and the guy attempted to assault me. Thankfully security staff stepped in and stopped it. I just spoke to the manager who put the phone down on me, but not before stating that I was rightfully ejected because I'm a male and accusations against men are more likely to be true. He refused to review the CCTV footage or take any further action. I'm absolutely disgusted with the behaviour of the security staff and manager - as a man, anyone can make an accusation against you and the staff will automatically side with the other person without any evidence. Reply to Chris, the manager Actually Chris, you said that you wouldn't be investigating it any further. In addition, our conversation hasn't been misrepresented and I recorded the entire call. As you would have clearly seen, he approached me and placed his hand on me in the smoking area - at this point the false accusations were made to security and I was wrongfully ejected. He then approached me outside the front while I was discussing the matter with security and became aggressive for a second time to the point of your security staff having to intervene. You clearly have more interest in protecting your licence than taking action against any wrongdoing committed by your staff and other patrons. To use your train of thought, anyone could accuse another person of assault or aggressive behaviour, for instance. On that basis you accept that it happened as truth without any evidence and eject the accussed. In this case I was the victim in three counts 1) he assaulted me 2) I had false allegations made against me 3) I was wrongfully removed by your security staff.

Omg...we happened upon this bar on our way home from a gig. We had the best time! There was a DJ and the tunes were perfect for a good old boogie. The other guests were happy and friendly. What a vibe!!! We had a blast and then stepped outside to the bus stop and were whisked home! Perfect.

Sam and Mary-Jean are just amazing. Always gives amazing service, recognises me over the whole crowd and gives 10 out of 10 service every single time. Makes service so special and personal every single time!!

We had a really great bottomless brunch here recently. Saw some negative reviews about drink wait times etc but the staff could not have been more attentive! We booked 11am-1pm and virtually had one member of staff to ourselves the whole time, and our glass was never empty. Food was nice, nothing special but the fact that you can choose from a range of cocktails is what made this bottomless brunch excellent for us. Thanks for a lovely day, look forward to seeing you again!

A friend planned a hen in Brighton and we ended up here. I personally wouldn’t come back. We were not welcomed as some of us were dressed up and it seemed to be an issue but they decided to let us stay we sat outside in the seating area and left when We had a two men approach our table and made some of us feel very uncomfortable to the point we had to get a member of staff to come and sort them out. We left and enjoyed the rest of our night in a bar just up the road!

I went there today with my family . We arrived between 3&4 . We tried ordering food but were informant that the chef was on his/her break so we had to wait till 4. Okay! It’s fathers’ day and you are short staffed . Poor management. We ordered some drinks and they were fine. We ordered food at 4 and were served by a woman . I ordered 3 fish &chips and 2 hot dogs and was informed that it would take 45 mins. It’s a poor experience already so what else can go wrong!?. When the food came , it was wrong. The hot dogs came but the fish was missing . But 3 bowls of fish were dumped on the table . The total cost came to £40.75. Criminal really. Oh! And there was also a pint of Heineken !! I made a complaint to the manager about the mess and it was at this point we’re told that the fish was out of stock. What a disgrace . We were then shown the receipt to prove that we got what we paid for . Poor customer service . They offered us 3 hot dogs and a small discount was offered . We were so hungry after doing the london to Brighton ride that we just wanted any food at this point before a long drive back home . The sun standard hot dos turned up and I was charged another £17 approx. £57 for this tripe is a disgrace . Suffice to say that I will not be returning to this dive anytime soon is the least I can say. I can’t recommend this restaurant even to my worst enemy . Very disappointed

It is a lively place is a very nice atmosphere, but the food is average. Beaf burgers meat is thine and not juicey. Halloumi cheese has been thick and burned.

Popped in here after the naked bike ride in Brighton (had to put clothes ;) the atmosphere was amazing! The act (drag queen) was great fun, and then they did Rock n Roll bingo. This was really good fun and we landed up having a very good night. 45 mins wait for food was a bit much, but they did tell us about it, and hopefully that was a one off.

Have been here twice now, absolutely love it!! Great space, great beers, great atmosphere, great loos - yes, great loos!! There's a cabaret on Sundays, too. Had some of their small plate food, which was good too. Can't really fault it so far!!

Went early Saturday evening for some food and pre-party drinks. Great that you can grab a table and order from their app. Food was delicious and the staff were lovely and friendly. Really nice selection of on tap drinks as well as a decent cocktail menu. We liked that you could dress up or down here and no one cared as well as the fact that the age range of clientele was from teens to pensioners. Between 7 and 10 it got louder and livelier with everyone just enjoying company and the atmosphere. Toilets are downstairs (just an FYI if that might be an issue for you). We're from out if town but will be back next time we are in town. Great crowd. 💙💙💙 There we go - I missed the disabled loo on the ground floor so this wonderful place is fully accessible. Mary and the team were brilliant in helping reserve an area of the bar for a large group of us taking part in a charity hike along the coast.
