Yummy donuts however customer toilets have been out of order for at least a month??

I've been here a few times now and originally loved it - great coffee, amazing donuts, friendly staff. However, on a recent visit it was completely different. There were no donuts, staff were abrupt, and now apparently they have no toilet for customers! Won't be visiting again sadly.

Better and cheaper than *bucks. I had a Perfect latte and fresh pastry. Maybe it's not baked here but it's not in a packet. Chilled music and modern decor. Wifi and sockets. What more do u need

A coffee house that does poor coffee…

Genuinely, as a so called man of hipster culture, I find this cafe to be great. Cheap and tasty(!) coffee, great atmosphere, music and you can work here with a laptop. I mean what else you need for a good life.

Visited as it sounded like a wonderful combination, coffee and doughnuts! The place was empty with only 1 other person inside but the staff were very friendly and helpful. I picked a coconut flat white which was OK, but not memorable or as strong as I am used to. The real let down were the doughnuts (I bought 5 differents flavours for my family to try) which looked amazing but lacked real flavour and the doughnut part tasted stale so I was really disappointed especially at £3.50 each.

Been here twice now and it's been amazing service all around. Coffee tastes better than other chains, and dining in is a very relaxing experience. Would very much recommend the doughnuts!

Gorgeous coffee and lotus biscuit doughnut. A very worthwhile but naughty treat. Some of their speciality drinks looked delicious too.

First of all the staff here are some of the most genuinely kind and welcoming people I have ever met and they foster such a lovely atmosphere. The food is always spot on and their array of sweet treats are always great (but make sure to get there a little earlier to get first choice of the delicious doughnuts). I can personally recommend their hot chocolates! Well worth a visit if you're in the area.

Uno de los peores cafés que he tomado. Negro, sabía asqueroso y parecía agua para lavar platos. Al salir de la máquina que tienen que haber tenido "crema" en la parte superior - tío detrás del mostrador dijo "Oh el nuestro no" sí, eso es porque no sabes cómo usarlo. Me dejó tomar una gaseosa gratis en su lugar. Es muy triste que tantos lugares tengan la maquinaria adecuada pero el personal no reciba la capacitación adecuada para usarla

I really like the service, especially when the two sisters are here, they are warm and friendly, and it is a blessing to have them here. To be honest, without them, I probably only have a 30 percent chance of going here I like the little cake here, chocolate-flavored, but now it seems to be a brownie, I don't like to eat brownies very much, I hope that the chocolate cake or banana cake is back on the market, and it is better to have some cakes that are not high in calories

Everything I need in a coffee shop and more. Simply great coffee, very clean, no fuss and greeted with a smile. You know how if you've ever been to a coffee shop in North America the servers smile and appear genuinely happy to see you (yes I am thinking of the one at 305 Broadway Winnipeg, Manitoba)? Well, you know, I'm mean like you really know, how they left that smiling bit out of the training manual in the British versions for Starbucks and Costa and all those chains? Well if you want a refreshing change from that then go to Nest. Nest is exactly how it should be done. Only thing I'd add is cream - loads of it. Got some booths at the back too for the early bird laptop crowd.

Great little branch of The Nest coffee shop in London road. I usually visit the Portswood branch but I popped in on a rainy Saturday for a slice of lemon cake and a chai latte. Friendly staff, a chilled atmosphere, all good. It's even better when they have doughnuts available.

I've been in a few times to meet up with friends, and I suppose the fact that we keep going back says it all. All the drinks we've had have been great, the staff are all super friendly, it's clean and a nice place to sit.

Why aren't the doughnuts made in-house anymore 😔 The Project D doughnuts that they now offer are not much better than store-bought stuff. Plus their old in-house ones were all vegan, the Project D ones aren't. I don't understand why they switched to chainstore-equivalent doughnuts when they made better ones! I don't think I'll go out of my way to visit anymore, at least until they bring their old doughnuts back.

My first visit, I popped in to get a quick takeaway hot chocolate on my way to an appointment and I was so pleasantly surprised to see two beaming smiles from the ladies behind the counter! What a warm welcome! My caramel hot chocolate, yum! Not to mention it was the first in a long time that was not scoulding hot and watery. Just right and delicious! The atmosphere was cosy with low volume music that made me want to stay, I will absolutely be returning.

Edit: Used to be our favourite place to go for coffee and a doughnut. Unfortunately they stopped making the doughnuts in house and the new ones are not even close to the quality. Real shame. Coffee, service and atmosphere is still just as good Amazing vegan cafe. Wonderful bagels and beautiful doughnuts!!

Great service, good food and nice ambience

Apparently not all of the food is vegan now, so what's the point? Was there demand to add some dairy to the doughnuts? Doubt it. But now people looking for vegan food have to check each item, like everywhere else, so they might as well go anywhere else. They have made this cafe worse for their core audience, for no benefit I can identify. Edit: we came here one last time and all the vegan options are gone now apart from a couple of doughnuts, just a load of bog standard pastries same as you'd find anywhere. What a shame! Never expected to be in Nest saying "we should have gone to Starbucks"

Very welcoming and friendly service. Nice atmosphere and comfortable seating. Excellent choice of pastries and doughnuts which look amazing. Had a caffe latte and doughnut, both fab. Definitely the best coffee I have had in Southampton this week. Highly recommend this cafe.

Lovely coffee served by lovely twins

Only been here a few times, but everytime I always get such a lovely welcome, and am made to feel very comfortable. The staff are what makes this review 5 star, I haven’t even tried to the food yet! (And the coffee is cheaper than it is in university, and nicer, so win win!)

Lovely coffee place and the donuts are to die for

I love this coffee shop. The prices are more than reasonable, it's well presented and always busy but not full/overcrowded. The coffee is also excellent, so excellent in fact that we grabbed a bad the first time we went in and have since been buying from their supplier Pelican Coffee directly for our go to beans. In your in the area give them a try, it a mile better than all the chains in that area.

The Nest coffee house is one of the better independent coffee houses I have been to. Whilst the food menu is limited primarily to sweet pastries (such as the donut pictured), this can be seen as a positive. That is, what food they do, they do well. The coffee itself is also good, of course. The iced coffee in particular stood out, as it manages to have the balance of creamy, whilst still having the hit of coffee that other iced coffees may lack. The atmosphere of the shop itself is relaxed, with some colourful lighting providing something a little different. Perhaps not the best shop to read a book in or such, but certainly a good place to come with friends The staff themselves are professional and polite, whilst also being efficient. Wait times were shorter than I'd expected, for my order

Nice atmosphere, friendly staff, good value. The rest of my party was okay with their coffee, but my hot chocolate wasn't good. It had potential, but was served barely luke warm and was very sweet.

Absolutely delicious doughnuts and cookies!! Very good value for the price you pay!! Servers were very nice and smiley to all of us! Not much seating but they do takeaway! Only weird thing is they literally put whatever you bought directly into the paper bag. It rained and my friend’s doughnut got super wet and had paper stuck to it. Maybe cardboard boxes might do a good job preventing this? I know you are environmentally friendly and I love the idea, just needs some further improvement. 💙

Visited this place last Sunday. I was delivering with Amazon and there meet Emily who made me the best coffee I have tried in Southampton. Was in a rush delivering and she attended me so quick and put so much love in my coffee. I'll visit this place again and will recommend to my friends. If you want good coffee come here. (Avoid going the Starbucks 🤣🤣)

Cute little coffee house! Arrived after just having an interview, so needed something to cheer me up. I looked at the flavoured syrups they had and to my suprise they had sugar free pumpkin spice. Which means I could enjoy my annual pumpkin spice latte on the lighter side. Coffee was obviously delicious and was nice to enjoy it looking at this autumnal weather we are having.

Colleagues told me how great the coffee and doughnuts were so Of course I had to try them out for myself and yes I absolutely agree so Will definitely be back.

I liked coffee and cake; my wife enjoyed more than me and she said after many times tasted a generic latte flavor; For me, the cappuccino and cake were a little sweet but generally perfect. The staff was very friendly 😊.

A must visit if you’re in the area. Amazing out of this world doughnut that are vegan friendly and vegan friendly focaccia rolls. Amazing coffee. The staff are very friendly and welcoming especially Emily and Ali. They are a real credit to the cafe such lovely people.

Visited early on a weekday, and whilst it was busy, there was very little atmosphere, which was odd. There were donuts on the counter but no indication on their flavours or price. Overall it was nice, but nothing to rush back to.

Such a lovely little coffee house in the heart of Southampton! They make THE BEST donuts around and even offer custom letter donuts! I had some for my baby shower last year and some for work to celebrate 7 years of business. Both times they came out amazingly. The staff are always so smiley and helpful. I love the doggy guest wall where you can see all the locals dogs that visit the shop. It’s always a must visit for me!

Lovely atmosphere, the staff are super sweet and nice and bring out your order really fast. Iced coffee is great, good price and don't charge extra for alternative milks which is so rare in cafes these days - and the atmosphere is very chill and nice. I noticed the back has also been extended so there is even more seating and a quieter space if you need it. Great place to get work done .

This is a warning. Once you have tried the foccacia sandwiches everything else in life will be a disappointment. They are so delicious, it makes it diffuclt to find joy in food anywhere else. Dont even get me started on the doughnuts. The best in the world. When I first went to nest i just tried the coffee.... i found the taste a little bitter, notes of chocolate, but a little strange??? (I drink my coffee black). Anyway after a few visits i started to get into it. LOVE it. Crave it. I went to other places and found nothing quite compares to its unique blend. (Again, its different!) This is why I go almost every day. More importantly, the staff are the most wonderful people, friendly, helpful, a real delight.

Love this coffe shop! I wish there was one next to my home. Doughnut are divine and the coffee taste amazing. Very simple decor inside but make you feel welcomed and relaxed. Staff very friendly and polite. If lived closer I would go the there every day!

Really great service by Katie, we had a selection of doughnuts, full of flavour and well presented. We had 2 bagels and a focaccia slice, was delicious and good flavour combinations. We aren’t vegan so was interesting to taste them and they were very delicious.

This is honestly my favourite coffee spot in Southampton. Beautiful coffee & quality cakes, wonderful staff and such a chilled ambience. The prices are also really respectable, especially as so many coffee shops these days nearly charging £5 for a coffee. My absolute go to spot every week 💚

Very cute and friendly place, with good coffee and vegan food, plus amazing prices! With strong free WiFi and comfortable seats, it's almost the perfect place for work. Unfortunately, the hours aren't the best. They close at 5pm the latest, and the staff start cleaning even half an hour earlier, including mopping, which feels a bit awkward for me to stay.

First time in the coffee shop and felt like I’d been in here way too many time and I love that, Emily who served me, greeted me with a beautiful smile and asked how I was! Very nice and relaxing experience, will be back when back in Southampton. P.s give that girl a raise.

We phoned up in advance to order personalised doughnuts and even followed up in person in the shop to clarify what we wanted for our friends 30th. Initials of her name and a 30. On the morning we arrived there to collect them and there had been some supposed mixup their side and it had not been made!! Completely ruined the personalise gift for our friend and we were compensated with 5 normal doughnuts, this is not what we requested. Extremely disappointed and let down, if we wanted just plane doughnuts we would have got them from a shop. If you want just normal doughnuts then they are nice but if you are thinking of relying on them with personalised gift don’t bother because you’ll feel let down like we were on the day. Ruined our gift for our friend! Extremely annoyed and disappointed is an understatement.

Amazing coffee and cake selection

Decent coffee, doughnuts looked nice but I didn't want a doughnut (I didn't realise it was mostly a doughnut cafe until I'd already gone in and sat down) so I went for a cinnamon roll which was nice and fresh but didn't taste of cinnamon. Prices were reasonable, but the waiting time was not. When I queried why others had been served before me, I was told "we do takeaways first" which is not very helpful if loads of people come in for a takeaway immediately after you've ordered to sit in.

Great coffee (for a great price), lovely service and a charming place to enjoy a nice chat or get some reading done.

I absolutely love this little gem. The coffee is the best for miles around and the carrot cake I had last week was delicious. There’s a lovely welcoming atmosphere too. BUT… it’s the staff who are the icing on the cake for me. They are simply wonderful. Nothing is too much trouble; always smiling, always kind and friendly. Best doughnuts I have ever tasted, they were super fresh and delicious and came in lots of different flavours, we got Rudolf the Red Nose Reindeer, Churros and a Snowball doughnut and they were all so amazing 🍩 Coffee was delicious too. I came here to relax and drink some coffee. My flat white was not great. It was low on flavour, and the texture was too thin. The staff were happy and polite and the main plus point if the visit. The other negative for me was the donuts. I am sure they are delicious, but they are all stashed in the same box with zero consideration for allergy sufferers.

Absolutely amazing coffee. But...when I went to look at the donuts, there was an infestation of fruit flies sitting all over them, that twisted my stomach and cut off any appetite. I really hope this was a one-off, I'll be happy to erase the comment if I'm proven wrong in the future! Perhaps installing a glass door to secure the food vitrine from the back would protect the food?

Popped in early this morning to buy 10 doughnuts on the way to work (not all for me!) and even though I hadn't pre-ordered they went out of their way to sort it out for me. The doughnuts are amazing, only out done by the super friendly and efficient service. Well done guys, I will definitely recommend you and will be back.
