The Nec Food and Bar Restaraunt in Birmingham

Visited hall 19 - NEC while working at MACH 2024 - Bessie Bell in hall 19 Catering was an absolute star - the new system since introduced is so slow but Bessie was tremendous the way she processed all the orders in double quick time with the biggest smile! Well done Bessie...NEC promote this excellent member of staff!

I cannot help but feel that I was fleeced. You can't take your own food in. The choice was pizza, hotdog or burgers. £12 for cheeseburger, £5 for chips served in a box. Nowhere to sit. Food not that hot. I don't know how the staff have got the gall to ask for £17 for what was served.

Awful experience. Service terribly slow. Promote the order from table, forgot about our order and took 15 minutes, staff wondering round aimlessly, no apology when finally came and really expensive. £8 for 2 coffees from a machine

I usually carry a card, this time in was caught short and left it at my hotel. Luckily I had some cash on me 😃 or not. Turns out that I can stand in a restaurant hungry, a willing customer wanting to eat and be told I can’t eat there because they will not take the completely legal tender I am offering to pay with £ sterling, I’m in Birmingham- in England right ? No money is not acceptable here. I had no other means of payment and after a 6 hour journey could not eat. Do not use shops services and restaurants stopping the use of cash. We are charged extra money in every transaction by the card companies and losing the value of money in your pocket. This company turned away my business, I had simply forgotten my card but had cash…. This is unacceptable I will never use the company or any associated with the chain again.

i dined here during my visit to NEC. Nice bar with good drinks. The lady at the counter was great!!!

Upon our visit it was clear that the cleaning requires improvements as the table we had was not clean and the floor was dirty

Over priced food & drinks, lacking in customer service, paper plates, at least the cutlery is metal!!

We went here on the 3rd of September for a conference. The cafe was clean and although lots of people coming in and out the staff were doing an excellent job of keeping the place clean. The prices are a little high but to be honest not far off what you pay in the coffee shop franchises. We purchased two coffees and one cake. The coffee, latte with caramels were very nice although mine did not mix too well so the last mouthful of the coffee was chemical tasting syrup. We paid £9.15 for this. We would have had a full lunch but for what looked like school dinners they were charging around £15 for. Take a packed lunch!

One was visiting Moda fashion and needed a break, so visited the cafe. The cafe is well presented and the staff attentive to the needs of the public. A wide menu choice of teas and coffee. What i do object to though are the over inflated prices. I am sure you pay at least 10% more for everything. They know they have a captive audience so in my opinion are greedy.

If you can take your own food and drink into the NEC. Queues for foodie outlets are busy, slow and prices astronomical! Captive audience scenario I’m afraid. Variety a plenty though it has to be said from burgers to sushi to sandwiches to pasties.

I had lunch in the edge. Lasagne chips and vegetables. I must admit not bad for the price veg was a bit cold but rest was hot and taste good.

Had a great breakfast butty despite it being past time for breakfast. Food was incredibly expensive though - more motorway prices

Long day at an exhibition so stopped for a snack lunch. Sandwiches tasted fresh and plenty of filling, delicious cornish pasties, nice cakes. However, all very expensive for what is essentially a 'pit stop' in a canteen like space. Averaged about £6 for sandwiches, £4 for pasties and the same for cakes, drinks also about £3 for tea in a cardboard cup. Premises and loos were clean and obviously you know the price before you choose to buy but in a long day/captive market' situation, it feels like you are getting ripped off.

Pleasant enough service but food and surroundings just like you would find in a factory. Cheaper on contractors days then silly money when show on, if they can make a profit from working guys why can't they charge the same for punters?

Visited the RWM show and traffic to get off was a joke 2hours and hardly moved still on the roads on the NEC, you need some staff out working on helping the traffic flow

Was at an exhibition yesterday, so was a 'captive' audience. The staff in the food hall wee miserable and surly; the food bland; and the prices over inflated - £18 for a bowl of soup; a roll; a muffin; a coffee; and a tea. Dreadful.

Awful food cold over cooked staff rude no please or thank you from cashier over priced seats were a benefits from walking.

horrible es tan justo como usted puede estar aquí. El servicio no incluso recuperar la carnicería. ¿Cómo puede arruinar un huevo y pan es un misterio estos días, pero bueno, tienen un montón de procesamiento y claramente no dar desternillante! Un par de limpieza sería genial también. Si puedes ir a otro lugar.

At an exhibiiton, that lasts just a few days, you are not going to find the worlds greatest dining experience .... but you will find fresh made coffee and cold drinks as well as soem pastries and snacks

Asistí a festival de juegos de insomnio con los niños adolescentes y comimos aquí. No estaba mal. La comida estaba sorprendentemente bien, aunque el menú es muy limitado. Nos costó encontrar algo mi hijo volvería a comer y él terminó con un plato de patatas fritas, pero él era lo bastante contentos con eso. Los precios eran un poco alto, pero luego te lo esperas en un lugar como este. Por dentro estaba un poco con reminiscencias de una autopista estación de servicio. El personal era muy servicial y amable y el lugar estaba limpio y la comida fresca y sabrosa así que no puedo quejarme. Creo que no hay suficiente capacidad para el tipo de lugar, ya que podría estar de arriba. Un montón de gente deambulando deambulaba sin rumbo fijo con bandejas de comida fría habitual de intentar encontrar algún lugar para sentarse. Pero de nuevo, es una parte de un lugar de enorme capacidad, de modo que es de esperar. En general, todo bien y usaría de nuevo.

We stopped for lunch during a large event. There was nothing special but then, I guess people don't go their for the food, just the event. None the less, what we had was fine, no complaints.

Visiting the NEC for a trade exhibition, popped into the Food Bar & restaurant for a reviving Latte - superb taste & quick service (with a smile) Recommended.
