Costa Coffee in Birmingham

Went here to get a couple of drinks. I have nothing good to say about this place. Staff were useless. Ordered a couple of drinks, and had a free drink on my app. Scanned it, and they still tried to charge me for my free drink. They had no idea what they were doing when i said i have a free drink on the app and they had just scanned my app! Not only that they made the wrong drink. Lucky i checked because i can't have milk. The place was filthy, and they were going round to all the customers telling them to drink up, because they were closing 1hr before their stated closing time.

Excellent service and food. I'm disabled and the lady serving was going that extra mile to help me get comfortable. A lovely human being.

I visited this store this morning and was served by a very pleasant and polite young man. Professional and a quick service with a smile. Leyton, thank you for brightening my morning!

Very dirty place, chairs are old and filthy, floor filthy, and tables dirty. Service poor

Costa is overrated and overpriced. I would much rather go to Greggs and get better value for my money 💰

Closing at 6.00p.m on a concert night? You're missing a trick here. Another hour or so and you would have sold your own weight in coffee and cakes!!

4 of the drinks had spilt in the couriers bag so we're empty, the others were destroyed by those 4. Awful when I'd spent £50 on drinks. Courier was no help

I have been to this costa a few times in the past and service/quality always seems to change. However, i thought i would write a review on my experience today. The staff were fabulous today. They were a patient and a kind attitude. Unfortunately they didn’t have any assistance because the other members of staff were in the back. However, on their own (and still training) they made the most fabulous drinks. If you are going to be sitting in, there is a large sitting area for all. However, keep up the work!

Location close to Legoland and with the canal right in front, it is a place to take a break for a coffee and to take a bite of any sweet or sandwich to reinvigorate your trip.

Rude service. There was a minor confusion about what I'd ordered and the person serving the drinks was pretty rude, impatient and dismissive.

Didn’t come with my sandwich , so I basically spent £19 on a coffee and two slices of cake

Awful experience. Staff (Xe) on phone texting whilst serving!!! And when another customer said there had been a spillage on a table… she just pointed at the cloth and spray and expected the customer to wipe it up! Terrible service and very rude to customers!!!

I ordered my food at 12:20 and it arrived at 14:32 (I waited over two hours for two drinks). I would like a full refund

Had a great experience but man on the till was quite rude and seemed to be rushing me when there wasn’t any queue at all. Just slight rudeness can go a long way!!

One if they worst customer services experiences ever. Asked a very simple question politely & the rudeness from staff member was so horrific that my child went & hid. The staff member then thought it was exceotabke to continue the abuse when asked if I had upset her in any way, she made my drink wrong on purpose, filled the cup do the lid couldn't be screwed on and again was horrid when my child came out of hiding to leave the place. Never will i ever visit again & will be calling the nanterre to check cctv to show how awful the my visit was.

One of my favourite Costa Coffee houses for an early or mid morning drink . Great canalside location friendly staff.

It was early in the morning and not many people about. Service was excellent and the drinks hot.

Over priced drinks food is pricey aswell

Very rude staff ignored me then said I was stood in the wrong place even though there was no signs to say where to queue I asked if they could see me or if I was invisible a woman making the drinks was very rude! So I walked out customer service training well needed here!!!!!!

Popped in for a late breakfast with my daughter, surprisingly quiet prior to Lego Discovery Centre opening. Baby change facilities were nice and clean, food and drinks at expected standard.

For the very 1st time I tried the new mango and Berry bubble tea from this Costa it was very cooling, also while I was there I tried the new salted caramel popcorn slice it was popifying, toilets are on site, it's wheelchair accessible, best place to go to for a visit.

I do like a Costa coffee, But I've noticed, Every time I ask, or listen to who ever takes your order, they don't seem to say small, It's always medium or large, I had to ask them why don't they say it, The young lass looked a bit shocked, As if to say, were not allowed to..

One of the most disgraceful acts of customer service I have ever received. I had ordered and thought I'd paid but the card didn't tap correctly, one of the staff pointed this out respectfully and I went back to the counter. The machine wasn't ready to accept the payment and my phone rang whilst my card was in my hand waiting. Whilst mid conversation another member of staff lent across the counter and said loudly that my card had been declined, I said back in an a gry tone that I was on the phone. I was then told that there was no need to shout. I declined to accept or pay for my order and will be taking all my business over to a competitor.

Has to be the cleanest Costa I have been in! Staff were all lovely too! The coffee as expected was good too

The drinks were so bad, they didn't have any chocolate sauce. Also, the frappés were mainly water. The place itself isn't clean at all. So disappointing!

Waited in a queue of only 2 people for about 20 minutes. No apology when got to till about the wait. All tables have not been cleared away. Grossly understaffed at lunch at (only 2 people??) Then made it for eating in (we asked for out) so transferred all to take away cups. No problem on the last part, but very very slow and miscommunication between staff

Decent meeting space with loads of chairs and tables. Visited on a very busy day at the Arena and even with a very large queue they were serving drinks quickly. Right in the arena and near car parks so perfect for meeting people for Arena/Lego world/ sea life

Haris on till was pleasant but the others need some personality. When paying for a large drink, I expect the cup full. Place just seemed grubby

Flies on the cakes, cups not being filled to the top so only get half of what you pay for and everywhere is dirty especially the toilets that haven't been checked for 6 hours according to the checklist on the door!

I needed help as I had cut my knee having fallen over whilst walking my dog on the canal towpath. The guys sorted me out with plasters, tissues, water and lots of “Good Samaritan” compassion. Even looked after my dog whilst I cleaned up my knee! Top team, I will be visiting soon with my dog (who they said was welcome anytime). Cheers guys!!

Large Costa under the Arena Birmingham. Better than the smaller one at Brindleyplace. More places to sit. WiFi normally works. May get busy if a show is on at Utilita Arena Birmingham.

I have visited this coffee shop many times on a Sunday morning , but today the guy who served me was rude and very unpleasant I think he needs more training on how not to shout his demands across a busy coffee shop

Drink was spilled at my door from the driver. way and I was advised a new one will be sent by my place, but that never occurred and I was still charged full price for delivery and drink. How does this add up. Appalling.

I wouldn't usually review a Costa as you know what you are getting, but there is a rude snappy male member of staff here who is a discredit to the entire Costa chain. Deeply unpleasant and best avoided as the coffee tasted flat too.

Popped in for a quick coffee today with a couple of friends. We had a voucher for a free drink and the staff at the store where so accommodating and helpful. We have found that in other Costas staff can be very dismissive of customers trying to use vouchers. This was not the case at all in this store! In particular Brian went out of his way to ensure we had a lovely drink prepared to our liking and ensured we got all the extras we could get with the voucher. Super lovely, cheerful staff. Thanks for your kindness!

Worst costa I’ve ever been to. My drink was left on the side for 10 minutes until another member of staff saw I was stood waiting, the guy who served me literally threw my coffee in the takeaway cup no eye contact or words came out of this mouth, he then squatted behind the counter and was on his phone the whole time then walked off!

The cortado was of good quality but the coffee frappe was really really not tastefull. Couldn't drink it.

It's a Costa, you know what your going to get. But it is in a great location for the Arena and the Canals.

We went 2 hours before a concert at the arena & there was plenty of food & drink choices. The staff were friendly & efficient, there was a queue but they worked quickly to minimise waiting times.

Worst service ever.. the guy working there today 06/03/2022 - 1030 was so busy looking at his mobile then serving customers and very rude.. thank God the black guy came and saved us from that bad service costa you need to check your employees again.. if I was a manger I would have fired him..

Poor foods selection and cake selection.... Empty... morning and lunchtime. Nothing but drink and crisp. Very disappoint compare other Costa cafe I been to. Staff was poor services as well.

Still Love the coffee but both times I have been in the last few weeks the service has been a little off, a smile is nice even if it's behind the mask. I explained that I am deaf and I read lips but the girl just carried on talking behind the mask, but when she served the next customer she removed it to speak them. I felt very hurt.

Very busy as event on at Arena. The staff however were amazing. Working so hard to reduce ques as well as looking after people who need extra support.

Order time did not get updated, until the driver was enroute, so I waiting way over the estimated delivery time, also my food was cold, however the delivery driver was very polite.

My order was over 30 mins late for a simple hot chocolate and bacon roll. That is a joke the food when I received it was cold due to how long it took to be delivered. How can a hot chocolate be cold doesn’t even make sense honestly

OK. Typical Costa coffee café. Limited food and snacks and I find the coffee bitter. Saying that their Xmas special coffees are tasty. Only one member of staff in but place was clean and tidy

This place has a potential to be the best Costa in town because of the location. The staff is super helpful and friendly. The wifi is terrible and unusable. There is no signal inside as well which makes the place not useful for studying, reading online or working.

Staff were friendly but kept very busy by the volume of patrons who were queuing, food & drinks were really good but a little expensive £4 for a fajita wrap which wasn't big but it was tasty so a positive experience all round.

As a cyclist using the towpaths during lockdown, this is a good place for a coffee, with some overhead shelter outside, and enough space around for a couple of bikes. A view over the canal as I watch the world go by.

Delivery driver clearly had no idea where they were going. They were sat on the other side of the dual carriage way for about 20 minutes. Food arrived cold.
