The Neathouse in Suffolk Coastal

We often treat ourselves to a nice brunch here and it never disappoints us. There is always a different selection of freshly baked treats, both sweet and savoury. The staff are always very welcoming and friendly. If the weather is nice, you can sit outside and enjoy the view of the church too.

We really enjoyed a sausage roll, delicious carrot cake and some coffee. Shame the lady at the till was not very welcoming and it was too expensive.

We visited this cafe with our two young children and we all had their delicious toasties followed by a selection of their heavenly homemade cakes. The staff are super friendly and welcoming, it’s a great place to take children and very well placed being adjacent to the village green. We’ll definitely be returning, fab coffee too and great value for money. Thank you 😊

We contacted by email The Neathouse to ask a question and had a prompt reply. We both had breakfasts and the options were clear and the food was heavenly. Just what we needed. Lovely pot of tea in a superb setting. We will return without doubt! Thank you

A really warm welcome and a dog friendly place to rest and refresh. Good pot of tea and a tasty coffee. Husband was tempted by the Bakewell slice and I was delighted to be offered a fork to help him out as it was delicious. We can’t wait to come again for lunch. A great selection of food and drink and brilliant customer service, nothing was to much effort we really appreciated the advice on the village (and the paint colours)

Forget the penny pinching remarks some have left. If you want good quality coffee, home made cakes and proper bacon, fresh salad and veg , sourced ethically locally etc , then it will be more than a McDonald's happy meal won't it lol. If you love good service, quality food ,service with a smile and a beautiful view in Lovely Suffolk then go.. thanks Ladies, always love it.

The Neathouse may be a delightful surprise for visitors and tourists, but it also plays a central role in the Dennington community. The quality of the food - much of it prepared with local ingredients, is top notch. But the cakes and pastries are on a different level. While you can always enjoy them in the café or at one of the sunny tables outside, locals phone and order their extraordinary full-size cakes to take home. Great value too!

Scrumptious food, lovely staff, ambiant atmosphere, plenty seatings outdoor on the sunny side. We had a ‘large English breakfast’ and made up amazing veggie version, no fake meat, just real food!

A warm welcome and a lovely breakfast. This is one of my favourite places and not only for breakfast. The dining room is warm even on a cold December day. In the summer, it's a delightful stop because the outside seating is in a sunny spot and shielded from the traffic (not much anyway).

Friendly service and a good selection of tasty sandwiches made to order. Excellent cakes and local produce too. Everything of a high standard and just what we needed.

I used to rave about this place. 3 bacon sandwich toasted 4 coffees £43. Yes £43 Go if you have a fat wallet

Had a lovely experience here stopping in at the small cafe for a late lunch on bank holiday Monday. Easy parking, outside seating to enjoy the sunny aspect on the green, great freshly made sandwiches (so filling we didn't have room left for the cakes but they looked amazing). The thing that really made it special though was the staff and service - positive, friendly, fun and speedy. Just created a really nice vibe. Thanks!

Lovely setting, awful coffee. Cold and barely able to taste coffee despite asking for extra shot. Avoid, go to Fram instead.

Often stop here on motorbike bike runs. Never fazed by a queue of bikers. Always a friendly service. Beautiful setting and the most amazing cakes you will find!!

Vashti is a truly amazing baker. My husband and I ordered two three tier cakes (St Clementine's & lemon with blackcurrent) + 25 scones for our garden celebration. Vashti created absolutely beautiful, scrumptious bakes and we (+ our family & friends) enjoyed these thoroughly, thank you so much! A number of our guests complimented your skills! Very yummy.

Absolutely fine but nothing particularly exciting. The coffee was weak and milky. Prices weren’t marked on the blackboard so you had to either ask or take your chances.

Fabulous gem of a cafe, the best cheese scones, bakewell and gorgeous coffee. Everything sourced locally, lovely friendly staff. I highly reccommend a visit.

Visited with my husband for full English breakfast and 2 coffees. Such a lovely little place with a lovely friendly lady serving. I noticed a previous review stating its expensive. I really don't agree with this as you really get good quality food and such a lovely atmosphere. Even the sauces for breakfast were good quality. Will definitely be visiting again for afternoon tea next time.

Travelling across country not sure where we were and desperate for a cuppa and sandwich. 1st pub finished food at 2pm 2nd was closed. We came round a bend in Dennington and spotted an open sign pointing to a tiny cafe on the village green .Cakes to die for, one of the best filled tuna sandwiches I’ve had ,hubby had a good salt beef with mustard mayo, and nice pot of tea. Quirky interior very British odd chairs and pretty tea sets.

Stopped for quick lunch on rainy day. Very welcoming staff, plenty of choice, soup, sandwiches, poached eggs with bacon etc. on sour dough toast, cakes, scones, flapjack, etc. Plenty of space inside & outside when dry. Also a community shop with lots of fresh produce....

Just as the Suffolk Food awards have noted, this is a wonderful and friendly place to visit. We had the coffee walnut as well as a rich chocolate ganache cake and they were both exceptionally good. The portion were generous and we will come again.
