So we’ve just been for lunch at our local pub. Our local pub has recently been taken over by some new people and Reece’s Kitchen has taken over the kitchen. We went in for a roast dinner and we were definitely not disappointed. Chloe took very good care of us both and our food was well priced and very tasty. Large portions of meat and veg. Needless to say we will be going back again. I had Turkey, my wife had Gammon. We were both very very happy and will definitely eat there again. The puddings look amazing. But honestly we were full of excellent and tasty food.

We had a family get together and went here for Sunday Lunch. There was 15 adults and 4 children under the age of 4. From the initial booking to meeting up and have Sunday Roast we couldn’t ask for more. The food was lovely, all freshly cooked, all homemade. It all came out piping hot and was delicious. We will definitely be back and can’t thank all of the staff for their care and attention and warmth.

We first came here when we moved to the area in June 2022. My partner and I had a lovely steak and ale pie with chips and veg which was £8.95. Then we came today and the pie was £13.95.... quite shocked really. Their small plate version was £8.95. The only bonus to this was you got to add on a spotted dick or jam Roly poly for an extra £1.50. It was a mini pudding but that was good value and yummy, it tastes just like the Asda spotted dick but no regrets there. No doubt prices have increased massively due to the rising energy costs, sad really. I still haven't tried their roast dinners yet but I'm sure it will be tasty. They ought to change the pricing on their menus ok the website as it still reflects the old prices.

Usually a fantastic place. Friendly regulars. Great prices. Lovely staff. But recently has acquired a new land lady and let’s juts say. She is hardly welcoming. Don’t be fooled by the little playhouse and sand pit. She is far from child friendly. I wouldn’t even say child tolerant. Go for an after work drink by all means. The prices are reasonable and Chantelle the barmaid is fantastic and very friendly ( the only reason for the extra star )

We have just got home from a family meal for my dad's 65th birthday. Not a bad word to say about the Nags. Service was fantastic, pub was clean and welcoming, the food came out in timely fashion and was excellent, and the whole experience was great. My steak was cooked perfectly and was great quality. It's wonderful to see how much the pub has come on from the tired old boozer it once was. Well done to the owners and great job by all the staff!

Thank you to all the staff at the Nags Head, Glenfield - who are always so friendly, helpful and so attentive. We love this place - our dogs are always welcome (indoor and out), the food is freshly prepared and great value and the ambience created by the Managers is wonderful. If you haven’t been, we strongly would encourage it as this couple have gone up and beyond with creating a lovely outdoor seating area and totally refurbished indoors. They deserve to do well.

We visited the Nags yesterday after quite a while due to restrictions. Extremely well organised Covid secure check in, table spacing and organised pleasant staff. We had the regular beef Sunday lunch for £8.95. It was superb. I would say the best I have ever had. The meat was tender, the vegetables just right and it was all hot on a warm plate. Well done 😊

What a disgusting place of a pub!! We went as a family of 4 of us,the tables are socially distanced my uncle and his two sons was also going to the nags pub and they sat on another table 2/3 metres apart we ordered a round of drinks then ordered food, not only can the waitresses see we have two under 12s with us but they only gave the main menu as the food is dearer on this menu and no kids menus was given we had to ask twice for the kids menu,we was waited on by two waitresses that didn’t seem to have a clue on who was taking what order, which makes me wonder if there so bothered about two families sitting on two socially distanced tables but are not concerned when two different waitresses are serving us,as well as not wearing there face coverings....like that makes sense?? But your the landlord I’m just a customer!! After being watched on camera (and the landlord stating I’m this in his rant) talking to another table 2/3 metres apart we was told to make the drink our last and leave!! Even tho we had not had the kids puddings that we had paid for??? Scammers!! It’s the first time I’ve been in the nags for years but it’s a shadow of its former self the waitresses are like hawks waiting to reprimand you if you talk to another table so they can get bonus points with the manager!! Again but say nothing to the regulars Also they state they will lose their jobs on arrival if you mix on other tables (get your violin out love) This pub is far from relaxing and was not a enjoyable experience and I will never use this pub ever again!! My son who is 10 years old and suffers with autism wanted to use the toilet he went inside to use the toilet and came back white as a ghost as he’d been told off for using the indoor one instead of the outdoor toilet, not one employee mentioned this upon are arrival!! Like as a employee do you not have a duty of care to who your serving??? Where’s your compassion!! The manager/landlord had very little people skills and made a big drama over nothing abruptly arguing with the customer for talking to another table?? But it was ok to say to us,but not your normal locals nothing was said to,I know from local knowledge there was a big family in the garden at the same time but as there regulars nothing is said and I noticed a lot that the regulars of the pub was allowed to mingle on other tables and nothing said,I’m disgusted tonight at this pub for making my stay an unpleasant one avoid going here at all costs you’d be much better giving your hard earned cash to the railway or gynsills,I’m sure as well, before all the lockdown this pub had problems with racism if your skin wasn’t white! Avoid this pub it’s not a pleasant experience at all!! This could be the worst pub I’ve visited in my life me and my family are absolutely disgusted!!

Family of 4 including my 3 year old granddaughter, were very impressed from walking in & giving our details before being led to our table via a one way system. Hand sanitizer at the door & plenty of space between tables. It’s table service here & drinks order was brought to us within a few minutes. There’s a good kids menu priced at 4.95. The adults ordered Tiger/beef pie, 10oz rump steak, cooked as requested and a burger, along with sides of onion ring & ciabatta bread. Ice cream was followed for our 3 year old, whilst our daughter had a chocolate pudding, looked & tasted yum. The food was superb & all very well priced. Once a table had been cleared, the table & chairs were well sanitized, so no problem regarding safety. They also have a great garden which is also a bit of a sun trap. This was our first time visiting & dining here & we will be returning again. Well done to the team there.

My first Sunday lunch at the Nag’s Head and it will not be my last, in fact I have already booked for next week. I liked that you can choose different sized meals, the small size was adequate for me. The roast beef was tender and tasty, the Yorkshire pud light and the vegetables perfectly cooked. For pudding I chose apricot crumble and it was just like home made, only better. Service was friendly and efficient thanks to Joy and Will. And I appreciated Will allowing a taster of an unknown beer, before buying. A great venue for Sunday lunch!

Came here in the evening with my husband for the first time since the restaurant has been refurbished. We had our wedding reception here nine years ago, so thought it would be nice to see the changes for this year's anniversary. Very impressed with the new dining room, and joining toilet, big improvement. Friendly, welcoming staff, good simple pub food, but what impressed me most was although there was the inevitable, horrible little sachets of various sauces, that you can never open, each pot of them was provided with a little set of scissors! Brilliant idea!

Have dined here several times recently, including with the Grand children. Restaurant area is very comfortable after recent refurbishment. The group I ate with favour the lunchtime special fish and chips, which comes with crispy batter, nice white fish and lots of chips. I've opted for the scampi and also a chilli jacket (which was enormous). On the lunchtime special puddings are 50p, but not a lot of choice. Fantastic value for £5. Children's menu is a similar price, and come as quite large portions. Service is usually good and quick but our second visit, the service was very slow, but improved on our future visits. Best to book to secure a table, as can get busy.

I really like the new look of the lounge and restaurant, very good now it is opened up. I was looking forward to trying the new menu and chose beef pie with mash. I'm disappointed to say it was only ok. The pie had no gravy surrounding the meat which was very tender so that was great and the gravy served separately was very thin so wasn't the lovely sauce I would have enjoyed. The mash was mustard mash which I don't remember if it stated that on the menu, which I wouldn't have minded but it was far too hot with the mustard. Bland veg too. I'd like to visit again and try another dish to see if it was just the wrong choice for me on this occasion.

We went for a Christmas lunch during the run up to Christmas. It was busy and we had to wait for a table even though we had booked. The restaurant was decorated beautifully and it was warm and welcoming. The food was tasty and the service reasonable although a bit slow, but they were very busy. In spite of pre-ordering what we wanted and even though I told them in advance that I would need a gluten free meal I was given mushrooms on normal bread. I reminded and it was removed. I then waited quite a while for it to be replaced. When the main course arrived a Yorkshire pudding was sitting on top of my meat. I had to draw their attention to this and was told they would bring a plate for me to put the pudding on! I think some lectures on dietary problems is required.I couldn't have any of the desserts on offer so asked for ice cream which arrived as two scoops of vanilla ice cream with nothing else. I wouldn't say this restaurant is good for people with dietary restrictions but my family enjoyed all the normal dishes which were served.

I worked in Glenfield for many years when 'The Nags' was our local watering hole. It was a great pub that served good beer, cheese and ham cobs, pork scratchings, pork pies, scotch eggs and local characters. Great for birthday parties and Christmas celebrations. Not visited the premises for over 15 years......until today. Sunday, for lunch, with good friends. We had no idea what to expect, but we'd heard on the grapevine that things had improved somewhat. We were in for a treat. Ben and Maz, the new landlords, have hit the nail on the head, right between the eyes. The Sunday lunch was excellent. A choice of beef, lamb or turkey, small medium or large. The best Sunday lunch we've had in a pub for ages. Guess what? They have a real chef working for them, and boy, does that show? Great food, loads of it, good prices.......could it be too good to be true? No. Trust me. Our new favourite pub. Can't wait to return. At long last, Ben and Maz are running a pub that they themselves would want to visit. Long may they last. Trust me. Give the new Nags Head a try. If you don't like what you see.....and taste, you must be from another planet, or even worse.....Burbage! Seriously though, you wont be disappointed. Trust me, I'm a cartoonist. Can't wait to go again.

Friendly local pub with great food at a very reasonable price. Large choice off the menu, many meals two for £12. Steak night on Tuesday where the lovely steaks are also two for £12. Sometimes run out of some items, which is disappointing, but more than made for by the quality. Lunches excellent value.

Popped in for lunch to this very welcoming family pub today! Spoilt for choice with excellent selection of food on menu! I had a delicious Sirloin steak and Stilton cooked to perfection garnished with a very colourful fresh salad! The fresh salmon went down a treat with my friends! Excellent value for money! Friendly, efficient service from staff! We will definitely be back!

I eat here often with both friends and family and rate the food as being as good as it gets for the money - fresh, hearty and always hot. However, I have recently been popping into the bar on the front for a drink when walking between the other watering-holes in the village. Not recommended if you aren't 'local'. The bar is full of Middle-age wannabes who could probably once throw a punch and still fancy their chances. Not the landlords fault but be warned - you won't find a warm welcome. Not sure if it's these or the younger crowd who are snorting cocaine in the toilets but somebody is. Definitely time somebody tried to clean the place up.

I regularly visit here to see friends, as it is in a good location. Food is standard British pub, cooked well, service good, but was left disappointed on my last visit on weds due to the kitchen not keeping up with food orders. With barely 4 tables in the restaurant we were told we would be unable to order food as the kitchen was too busy, I have been in there often and never had this issue. We were 5 friends having a few drinks and had hoped for dinner before Xmas, we ended up going to the Forge down the road. The Nags is well priced, and good portion sizes, but they need to be careful with their regular customers!

My husband I visited this pub last week whilst visiting the area. We had some fantastic food. Really fresh, tasty and reasonably priced. My husband had the Hunters chicken and hasn't stopped talking about it since! The staff couldn't do enough for us and there was a great family atmosphere. I would highly recommend this pub. My only grumble is that it isn't closer to me!

Popped in for a spot of lunch on Saturday as had eaten here before and enjoyed the experience. Once again, we were not disappointed. The restaurant was very busy and a table of around 10 people had just sat down so we were a little worried our food may take time to arrive (and we were starving!). However, food arrived promptly and was once again delicious, particularly the homemade chips. It is typical pub grub, but it is done well!We met the manager who was there that day and I can only assume the previous reviewer met the wrong man as we found him to be very chatty, pleasant and courteous. I've attached a photo so there is no confusion in the future. Ha ha!Keep up the good work!

Food is no more than microwaved frozen food, you can get much cheaper and better quality food in nearby pubs. The curry tasted more like tomato soup than tikka masala. Staff were non existent. Overheard the manager being rude and unhelpful to unhappy customers on the next table which put me off complaining about my food. We just made a decision never to return. Such a shame as it has previously been a great place!!!

Never ever will I be eating here again. I found a peace of plastic in my Rogan josh curry. Daughter had a nightmare with her food also. To find any staff was a nightmare, I had to go in the lounge in the end to complain.

Tis is my friends' local pub and when I'm in England with them, this is the pub we visit regularly. There's nothing too flash or quaint or amazing about it, but the menu is really good and there's a lovely cosy atmosphere in it. Winter or summer, a good pub to meet friends and have fun.

I don't normally make a review, but feel I needed to! Had a really lovely meal with my wife and our friends last night (4th July) Food was amazing had the Hunters Chicken, and then a 5 cheese cheeseboard for afters and shared it between us because of the amount of cheese we got!! Waitress was lovely, a great asset to the pub, she was the only one and the restaurant was really busy but she split herself well between all the tables, really good service - A capable and pretty young lady. Will be coming back very soon, would like to meet the landlord and landlady next time!

I visited the pub for a Sunday lunch meet up with friend. Found the pub to be clean and inviting. Bar staff were friendly and gave a brilliant service. We sat down and was not disappointed when our good size sunday lunch was served at the table. The food was cooked, and waitress very attentive to ensure your meal was hot and asked if you wanted any condiments. Was a positive experience and would definitely go again

Visited the Nags Head on a Saturday a few weeks ago with the whole family - 5 children, 2 dogs - and they had a party on; barbeque (reasonably priced, £1 for a hot dog and £2 for a burger!) with a bouncy castle, disco and sweetie cart laid on. The kids had a fabulous time and the dogs were getting a lot of attention....We had visited once before a year or so ago and noticed this time around that a number of different drinks had been introduced (I am a prosecco drinker and couldn't get this at the pub previously!).A couple of family members ordered food from the kitchen and it was lovely - tasted really fresh and good portion sizes. The new guys have done a great job.

Visited Friday evening, 15th Nov. Decided to try the chicken shawarma from the weekend specials menu. Compliments to the chef, it was amazing. We were extremely well looked after by our host, Josie, nothing was too much trouble for her. Thankyou Steve and Michelle.
