The Nags is a local which provides food created by a chef. No packaged food. Sourced locally. Not cheap but worth the money.

Had a meeting here tonight. Had my tea beforehand. They cooked me what I wanted that wasn't on the menu, sign of a good chef. Good experience. Sure we will be back.

Very friendly, nice garden, quaint and amazing food

The most unfriendly place I‘ve ever been to. We (couple of two) came over at 6 pm from the nearby campground, for some drinks and dinner. They told us in such a rude way, they don’t serve food for walk ins and were too busy. Even two portions of chips were not possible, although the whole place was nearly empty.

A fantastic dog friendly local. The food is fantastic value. A good sized garden. If you want to eat inside with a dog it is best to book. Very friendly staff. We visited twice for food in a week. Do visit

Excellent family local lovely food in a friendly atmosphere, well worth a visit for Sunday lunches and midweek meals! No sky sports!! Slot machines or music boxes etc Free wi-Fi so relaxed opportunity for plenty of conversation.

Pretty nice pub, gets busy so be sure to book if you want to eat there. However, like many pubs and restaurants these days they seem to have run out of plates and instead pile your food onto wooden chopping boards instead. This means if you have anything runny then it either runs off your chopping board or it runs in the cracks. Please, for the love of God, stop putting food on chopping boards. Plates are ergonomically better and more hygienic too. Other than that it's a great place to eat and drink and they have an outdoor area as well.

Great find called in after a visit to the nearby college food and service absolutely spot on. I very rarely give 5 out of 5 but it's well-deserved here and a nice pint too

Had Sunday lunch here after a hike round the beautiful surrounding villages. The pub is cosy and welcoming with friendly helpful staff. Food was really fresh and tasty and the portions were huge. Prices very reasonable. Highly recommend this pub.

We was staying at the nearby Travellodge and called to the Nags Head for an evening meal. There is parking available at the front. The staff were lovely and friendly and accommodated us without fuss. The food was great and ample. There was a nice relaxed atmosphere and local pub feel. I didn't know they did rooms prior, but will certainly consider staying when in the area in the future.

Great choice's on the menu, busy for a lunch time, glad I'd booked a table. Well worth a visit. Only down side, no free WiFi, for showing photos on PAYG phone.

Excellent meal, polite staff. Pub has old world feel, still has open fire which might not suit everybody as a bit smokey, but dining area well away from it. Will be going again.

Staying at the nurserys campsite we drove to the pub, we had fish and chips and hunters chicken, huge porsions, perfectly cooked, never seen a fish that big, the food and service we brilliant.

Lovely food and most of the staff were very friendly, I had my baby with me and upon asking if there was a changing area was I was told “there isn’t one sorry” by a member of staff and another member of staff overheard then said I could change her on the floor of the ladies toilets. Disgusting alternative. Needless to say I didn’t and changed my child in the car. As I say the food was great and came quickly but the place really needs to get better facilities considering there was 4 other babies in there at the time.

We visited mid week 4 of us . Nice welcome on arrival. Pleasant and helpful staff. A great choice of starters, I chose the belly pork starter , it was fantastic . My daughter chose the holloumi which was just as good... the 4 mains were all very good . Scampi very tasty with chunky home made chips .... Spare ribs were great and plenty of them. Also 2 chicken & chorizo hanging kebabs which were very good ..... good value & good quality food . ... Took us a while to decide what to have for mains as there is rather a lot of choice. Will be visiting again soon. Many thanks. *** We returned today for a Sunday lunch and it was great food and good value..... There were 4 of us and all ordered the Sunday lunches which were a chicken, two beef & salmon lunches. Big portions , excellent quality and great value. We have never been here before, i have a broken ankle it was wheelchair friendly, the staff were very good and looked after us so well. The food was lovely to as the photo shows we will be back soon.

Staying at Nurseries Caravan Park and found the Nags Head by chance as it is off a main road (1237). Such a friendly welcome and fabulous food. Extremely generous portions well cooked and presented. A little gem of a place, will definitely go back when next in the area. Highly recommend.

Nice little place to stop for a pint while out walking

An impromptu visit to a local(-ish) quiet village pub for lunch on a lovely sunny day. Nice range of food for many tastes (inc. kids) on the menu, and a decent range of beverages available. Normally, booking is required at the moment, but it was quiet (thanks to the Euros sportsball tournament), so we got away without. Great staff, great service, and other patrons were friendly. I think we'll be heading back for a proper Sunday Pub Roast before long.

Great pub excellent service good ale

Visited 19th August for my nephew's 30th Birthday. Food was delicious, there were 18 people all with different meals but the food was piping hot and we all got served together. EXCELLENT.

Such a lovely place. Cozy yet open and roomy, beer garden is pretty. Food was great, large portions and locally sourced and home made food. Definitely a place to try.

As a former member of staff i highly advise anybody to stay well clear of the nags head the boss and chef is a raging cocaine addict who sniffs lines of the plates and surfaces used to cook and prepare the food also there is not a single covid 19 measure in place in the kitchen as there should be. Like i say stay clear especially if you have children a discrace to the community!!!
