The Nags Head in West Dorset

I stayed here for three nights accommodation. The room was fully refurbished and the en-suite shower was newly fitted. The staff are also very friendly . I would definitely recommend the Nags Head Lyme Regis 👍

Didnt serve food when we popped in for a drink but otherwise nice little pub

Great local pub at the top of a very steep hill! We went in for lunch pretty late so only a few of the local regulars were in, always good to lusten to the local talk from men in pubs! Tye barmaid was excellent and worked her bar with style, the owners myst make sure to keep her and pat her well she earns her money and with her brilliant technique makes you money. I ate scampi and chips and my partner burger and chips both were good. We enjoyed our food with a beer and cider. The locals are lucky people.

4 of us 3 adults and 1 child, £41 including 4 soft drinks, took quite a long time for the food to arrive but it was worth it, all 4 of us loved all of our food, Wednesday night in August should have been busier certainly deserved to be, everywhere else we visited costed us at least twice as much for far inferior food, make the effort to go there

Clean room with great views from the decking. Can't comment on food as I didn't eat there.

Lovely. Currently on our first night of a 2 night stay. Really delightful pub. Great selection of beers, ciders and ales as well as a well stocked bar. Can't comment on the food as the kitchen is closed for a couple of days. We're in the top room with it's own decking. Beautiful view. The room, the bathroom and the tea and coffee provided are fantastic. Very tastefully furnished room. Really comfy bed. Special shoutout to the lovely Ellie behind the bar who also checked us in. Perfect. Love Sam and Dean.

A little gem, away from the hustle and bustle of the town centre, the Nags head was spot on. The food, fantastic!! The beer was ice cold and well priced, if you're a football fan, you'll love it here. Loads of big screens and a kiss-ball match on every one (I'm not a fan of football). Great prices on the food, highly recommended...

Great little authentic pub. Nice atmosphere and reasonable range of beers. I can recommend the Guinness which was excellent.

Called in for something to eat as the menu and prices looked good, didn't have anything to eat as it was full and too loud for us.

Stayed here for 2 nights perfect location but a hill walk up from town which we don't mind staff are lovely and the bar staff work so hard snack bar food is great better than main street pubs that are over priced but not here live music on Saturday night was great so definitely will be staying again

My favourite place in Lyme Regis

Recently renovated but has kept its character. Nice "local". Meals are good value and the beer is well kept.

Positively the worst food and more important when I complained to the ‘ chief’ he said yes I heard you were not happy I said you brought out a bag of leaves but put 3 in to food he protested there were more Judge for yourself from the photo Also he said yes but you eat it I said I had no choice but left most So much for customer care

Stayed 3 nights in September heatwave, warm nights, made good use of fan provided! Still very warm but that's the British weather for you! All good, enjoyable stay. All amenities good. Would definitely recommend.

Friendly local pub serving pub grub at good value for money especially as we went on a day when the food included a free drink. Away from the hustle and bustle of the seafront and town centre.

Ace pub. You'd have to be a proper tool to feel unwelcome in this place. Best pub in Lyme without a shadow of a doubt.

Best pub in Lyme! Staff are beyond lovely and service was quick and decently priced. Always good sports on and has a great atmosphere on a Friday, Saturday or whenever a games on.

The Nags head is a great traditional pub, we live nearby and regularly pop in for a drink, Saturdays there’s usually a band on which is always fun. The drinks are reasonably priced and the staff are welcoming and friendly. Highly recommended 👍👍

Popped in for a quick bite to eat with the kids. Fridays 5-7pm there are some meals for a fiver; pulled pork quesadillas, hot dog and chips, pulled pork nachos. All fantastic and great value. Won a pack of chicken in the meat raffle too, can’t go wrong.

Lovely hotel close to the beach and shops. Bit of a hill to walk up though but can't really complain about that!

Very nice, the room was amazing, clean and very comfortable. The view from the balcony is amazing, very sunny beautiful morning to wake up to. Dan in the pub was very friendly, welcoming and looked after us. Totally recommended and would stay again. Easy free parking just up the hill

Proper old fashioned pub that makes you feel welcome. Very simple menu that sits well with this type of pub. Sky sports available. Reasonable price. Very friendly staff. Dogs are welcome.

We stayed one night room only. Check in was easy, room smallish but good quality and presentation. Very glad of fan as a hot night. Only real complaint was that he mattress was really soft and both of us (not large people) kept rolling into middle of bed, so didn't sleep well.

Really comfy room, clean and bright. Lovely staff too and super location.

Delicious Quesadillas and chips! The football was on and my family over from Australia are HUGE premier league fans and soooo happy with everything! Thank you Nags Head! XxxX

Great pub. Bit of a hill to get to it, but it's well worth it. The landlord was attentive and friendly. Was building a smart smoker when I was there. Will definitely be back to sample some smoked delights next time.

A little gem of a pub slightly away from the expensive places near the sea front. Paid £4-20 for a pint of Carlsburg,which is good value compared to the other pubs in town. Serves food until 9-00pm & this is also at a reasonable price compared to a number of places in Lyme Regis .

Friendly pub showing football, even put a separate screen on for us as we didn't want the premiership game on . Very good Guinness too. Check out the view from the garden

Great pub, proper old school boozer. Not overpriced and try hard like all the others around Lyme Regis which are aimed at ‘tourists’. Staff are lovely and attentive and the ‘locals’ are nice. They pour a wicked Guinness and have a good beer garden.

Popped in on a Saturday lunchtime to watch the football. Plenty of screens inside and out. Traditional English pub with a relaxed atmosphere without feeling like a typical sports bar. Did not eat but looked like a good bar menu.

Friendly welcoming owner, efficient and attentive.barmaid,good range of well kept beers and perfectly cooked fried chicken made for a fantastic afternoon watching the premiership rugby final on the big screen. A wonderful pub with good local support with a wide age range if customers when our group visited.

Lovely rooms, staff friendly and accomadating not shown where the guest balcony was shame make sure you ask! Garden was set out lovely! Nice walk down into town and swim restaurant!

Lovely end to our stay in Devon, walking the South West Coastpath. We were welcomed by Meg, room was bright, airy and stylish and staff very welcoming. The pub is quite a walk from the town up a steep hill but we were just happy to find a twin room within our budget for just one night - which was difficult! Various locals mentioned it had been recently renovated. The pub allowed us to leave our bags after check out for later pick up. Recommended.

A little gem up the hill and out of the hubbub. The room we had (room 2) has a beautiful view across to the church and is not overlooked at all. The room was a generous size and decorated to a high standard. It had an extremely comfortable bed, a good size shower and was warm & quiet. The guest's lounge on a lower floor is also comfortable and offers views across Lyme and out to sea. Highly recommended.

Solid "locals" pub away from the more touristic places in Lyme. Well priced drinks and sport on TV, with lovely staff. Also has 6 guest rooms. My room was spotlessly clean and decent value by the standards of Lyme, which is generally really expensive for accomodation and is now astronomical due to COVID and the "staycation" boom.

Very clean and comfortable room with stunning view. Saturday night is live music so it is a bit loud until gone midnight but that was fine for us.

The bedroom was pleasant...that's about it! After a busy day all we wanted was a good night's sleep...that didn't happen! At 9pm live music started blaring out, so loudly that our bed and floor vibrated. That stopped at 11ish, but following that we had 1.5 hours of people shouting loudly outside. Additionally the bedroom above us had very creaky floorboards. NOT a good experience and not worth the money. We won't be returning!

This pub was very close to our guest house in Silver Street. After tackling the steep hill up from the town it proved a enjoyable place for a rewarding pint. Friendly service and nice pint of Otter.

Great place to watch the football in Lyme. Solid drinks and multiple TVs with Sky Sports.

My hubby and I popped in to this local pub on a Sunday evening 4 doors up from where we was staying and what a gem of a find with friendly locals chatting to us both making us feel very welcome !x

refused to allow a date change of our booking and forced us to cancel due to this. entirely not our fault needing to do so but due to test and trace requiring us to self isolate ... very disappointed and a shame they are so unaccommodating

Comfy clean room with everything you need for a stop over. Walkable distance from the beach, shops and cafés. Be prepared to walk up steep hills! We parked at the NCP down the road from the hotel next to the co-op. It's around £11 for 24 hrs. Would recommend.

The Nags Head is a lovely friendly pub with a good choice of beers and spirits at reasonable prices. They offer basket meals at again reasonable prices which nowadays is a rarity in Lyme.

The manager made space for the 8 of us. We had a nice basic meal and a few drinks. Table service which was good. No complaints, lovely people very welcoming.

A bit rough. It was last day of the Premier League season, and it was the only pub in Lyme Regis that seemed to show football. So it was pretty busy, and a lot of lads watching the football. Facemask protocol and etiquette was pretty slack! The staff were brilliant really trying to keep everybody calm and serve to tables, but some people just don’t get it!

The garden was very tranquil with great views over Lyme Bay.

People are more open and hospital than Londoners, one of the people that we were talking to was the owner, I was surprised when he went behind the bar and gave us plastic cups to take our drinks with us (as they have a strict 10pm closing policy). Some of the guys that were in the pub ended up on the beach front with us and we carried on from there (there is a Tesco Express on the way to the beach).

This pub is large and tastefully decorated to feel cosy. There are two bars and a large garden. The food is very good and priced reasonably. Visited many times during stay.
