Delightful little cafe attached to the church. Very friendly volunteers serving up a wide variety of freshly prepared light meals including home made cakes. Easy parking. Good coffee. Just two improvements needed - a few cushions for the hard chairs, and could try to open on more than 2 days a week

A warm, friendly welcome greets you at The Mustard Seed Café. Tasty light snacks and scrumptious home made cakes at very reasonable prices, await those fortunate enough to have found this cosy place. Well done to all the kitchen staff, especially in this hot weather, the selection may be small but the slice of cake I had was enormous!

Really glad the Mustard Seed has reopened - there is a small menu but everything served is reasonably priced and just what you want in a community cafe. We have visited a few times now and each time the food has been delicious and very quick. The hot food is cooked to demand and you can make special requests. The fresh cakes are also stand out. Staff very happy to help. Will be returning!

Within the National Christian Outreach Centre, I doubt if you would find this excellent cafe unless you already knew it was there or were looking for the Centre, which we were. Uplifting to visit for the soul, you can also nourish the body. The Centre has some very hard to get books, cds and dvds, and the cafe has an excellent menu for snacks and hot meals and boasts a large free car park. I chose lentil soup, from the choice of home-made soups and was rewarded with a huge bowl of good, 'stick to your ribs' Scottish soup with a herb scone and an excellent toasted sandwich, from a good selection of sandwiches, toasties and paninis. Rest of the family opted for well cooked fish, chips and peas. There was also well cooked and tasty. There was also a choice of daily specials. I might have normally chosen the haggis, neeps and tatties, had it not been such a hot day. There was also a good choice of cakes. The cafe was increasingly busy as lunchtime service got into full swing. It looked as if many of the diners were probably both locals and regulars who made use of this well priced and delightful venue. There were a number of free uplifting christian books at the checkout.

This community cafe based at St Edwards Church serves the most generous and enjoyable breakfast I have had for a long time. 2 rashers of bacon, 2 sausages, mushrooms, scrambled egg, tomatoes, beans and toast for just £4. Add a lovely coffee for £1,50 and you have a perfect breakfast. The folk running the cafe are volunteers and super friendly. They also serve cakes, sandwiches and baked potatoes. They have been discovered and are getting full. No wonder, they serve their community with excellence.

Decided to try the food here as it always looks good when I pass by. Went for the BLT and was not disappointed. Lovely crispy bacon, thick bread (choice of white or brown) crisp lettuce, juicy tomato and a tangy mayo. Served with a helping of vegetable crisps, this was a perfect way to spend a sunny afternoon after the school run. Excellent value for money again, my sandwich, a pot of tea,a decaf coffee, a coke and a little cake for £5.50! Will definitely be visiting again.

This is a community cafe with an outdoor patio area adjacent to St Edwards Church and its staff are volunteers. So the people you meet there are warm, charming and ultra-helpful. Open at present breakfast and lunch Thursday through Saturday, the menu is simple, wholesome and excellent value.

Stopped in for a coffee and some cake with the kids. They serve the usual teas, coffees and soft drinks, cakes, sandwiches and breakfasts. Excellent value for money, really friendly staff,( all of whom are volunteers by the way) and it's a Pokemon gym as well! It's a community cafe provided by the church (St. Edward the Confessor) so it provides affordable refreshments with a friendly smile! They have given meals to local schools as well, providing an essential community service. I definitely recommend a visit, cheaper than the big franchise cafes with the added bonus of supporting a local community service!

As I vegan, I never expect to be able to eat anything special when I’m not in my home town of go to comforts.. but I was so blown away by their vegan rainbow sandwich! (Can’t remember it official name!) It was so beautifully presented and in abundance, it was such a treat! One of the best bites I’ve had in ages. Thank you! Left so happy !
