A good caring space with books, cards and excellent food/drink at reasonable prices. Such a pity that there is not enough resources (volunteers and cash) to keep it open.

Absolutely beautiful warm and welcoming cafe..very reasonable prices and really enjoyed browsing the Christian books. The volunteers were very lovely and chatting to my toddler I Nanny. I really enjoyed the light environment and didn't want to leave! Very very sad to hear it will close fully by March 2025. I wanted to start returning regularly..also a brilliant outreach tool to share Jesus! Thankyou so much Emma and Florence

A gem of a cafe. Delicious food prepared to order, with naughty but nice cakes for desert. Helpful staff, many who are volunteers. Its only a small place but full of kindness. I was eating alone and there were no empty tables but a couple asked me to join them, which I did and we enjoyed a lovely lunch and a chat.

Off the main High Street, The Mustard Seed is well worth a visit if you are in need of a little relaxation after a busy morning on the Sea Front, or an afternoon shopping. We went for a Devon Cream Tea, towards the end of our week long visit to Sidmouth and wish we'd found the Cafe earlier. The welcome was friendly & warm and the ambience relaxing. The Book Shop area runs side by side with the Cafe. There was a wide range of books for sale on Christian guidance, and I feel if you fancied a discussion on comparative religions there would be someone on hand to oblige! The fresh scones were warm, eaten the Cornish way (sorry!), and we were offered more jam, cream or milk should we wish them. And a really good pot of tea too. We intended to return for lunch, but ran out of time. We shall definitely head for this establishment when we next visit the Sidmouth area.

Very friendly cafe, we always pop in for presents when we visit Sidmouth. We were very pleased to find a Christian trolley token with a pride rainbow on it! And allowing the locals who didn't have the luxury of electricity to charge their mobiles and do job searches online is a real Christian attitude to modern day problems. They also do amazing coffee and cake along with compassion and caring. Love you guys! Stay blessed!

Normally call at this shop during our visits to Sidmouth as they stock a varied selection of Christian literature which we purchase. The shop is usually quite busy in their coffee shop but haven't eaten there.

The food is really a range of lunch type snacks... I had a cheese & ham toastie which came with a bit of salad etc... Can't really go wrong with that, but it's not food to shout about... Yet the place has something that will bring you back : Joy! The staff (I'm guessing many are volunteers) were just full of joy. If you don't come for the food, come for the atmosphere that is a lovely example of the faith they clearly have in this place.

This is a small cafe and Christian bookshop, with a local, community atmosphere, and the staff and other customers seem keen to chat as much as eat . The food is simple but good... baked potatoes, home made soup etc, and extremely good value in pleasant surroundings, a bit off the tourist trail.

We live in the area and we usually have lunch here when we visit Sidmouth. It is a coffee shop in a Christian bookshop. The staff are pleasant (volunteers I imagine) and the café is clean and bright. They do light lunches such as jacket potatoes and toasted sandwiches served with side salad. Also good for a coffee break, selection of cakes and toasted tea cakes. The food is reasonably priced and the atmosphere is calm and relaxing. It's away from the coach party favoured cafes and from the hustle and bustle of the main shopping street.

Our second visit with our border terrier Ted, made to very welcome on both occasions by the the attentive but not intrusive staff, on the first visit I had the lovely large breakfast which was super tasty, on our second visit we hike 5 and a half miles from Honiton and I was hoping to have another breakfast to fuel the hike home but were a bit late for breakfast service, my disappointment didn't last long though, our lovely server Lily suggested the creamy mushrooms on sourdough and what a cracking dish it was!! Lovely creamy mushrooms piled high the portions are definitely not skimpy!! Ted was made very welcome to and enjoyed some treats from Hayley, another great visit, we'll definitely be returning!!
