I've been to The Mudlark many times over the years and it's a nice pub and if we order food it's always been above average pub grub and consistent with the food served at other pubs in the same chain. Not any more. The food was borderline inedible and the portions much smaller than we've had before. Anything involving breadcrumbs (calamari, goujons, duck etc) was dark brown and cremated in what tasted like very old cooking oil and nothing else, we got four padron peppers in total with no salt, the chips were tasteless, undercooked and cold, the baked brie rock solid and also cold. it was horrible. What happened? With the number of other pubs and eateries in the area we won't be back and wouldn't recommend ordering food here.

My friend ordered some food and it hadn’t come for a while. I then went up to the bar to enquire about it as the money had been taken out of her account. The staff member said the order hadn’t come through and that she should go up to speak to them. My friend went up and proceeded to have a long conservation where, despite her politeness, she was subject to extreme passive aggressiveness, patronisation, an unnecessary level of scrutiny, and probable racial microagression. She returned to our table where I witnessed the manger come out and speak to her (me sitting across from her) in the most condescending and incredibly rude way! He rolled his eyes and actually spoke to her with disgust. As customers, and as people that both work in hospitality, we were shocked. This is the first time I have ever witnessed such terrible customer service, and from the manager nonetheless! We will never be returning here and I encourage you to not give them your money.

We booked here for my daughter’s 18th birthday after reading the reviews. We went into the dining area upstairs and were greeted by a group of 30 people who had been there a couple of hours already and definitely weren’t sober. We couldn’t hear ourselves think, for some reason some thought it was necessary to just shout at each other, at one point my husband’s phone alerted him that it was too loud. To say it spoilt the meal is an understatement. The food was lovely and the staff were really attentive but we couldn’t wait to leave. I’d also put a comment in the special request section that it was my daughter’s 18th and could they add a table decoration or maybe a candle in a dessert. Something to make it more special for her. There was nothing and no reference was made to at all. I was gutted for her. I would go back to the pub for a drink in the future but never again for a meal.

I like this brand of bar and had heard of the mudlark so I was keen to visit while in London . We actually went the long way round to get in going through the bourgh market rather than down the stairs from the bridge . The pub was busy and expensive .£14.90 for two pints of peroni is ripping it even by London standards . I think my expectations of what the pub was going to look and be like just didn’t match the reality . It’s nice enough but not the historic place I envisioned . Felt like a tourist trap if I’m being really honest . I will try out the other Nicholsons bars but won’t be back to this one .

Disappointing. Our group has had its Christmas supper there for several years where we had exclusive use of the upstairs room. This week we were surprised to find two other groups there and were told there was a minimum charge of £3,500 if we wanted it to ourselves. This was never the case before and on arrival was the first I knew, no one told me through the booking process. The food was OK but the service was haphazard with gravy only arriving after everyone had been served. We were told the day before that one of the wines we had chosen was not available so chose another wine. The first wine magically appeared on the night. Chaotic. They also now have a central booking service for groups which require personal details such as date of birth. I don’t think so.

The pub itself was nice enough but when it came to eating the table was pretty filthy, we were seated outside and the amount of dirt in between the boards was off-putting. I ordered the $15.50 burger option, a double burger, chips and onion rings. I was disappointed when it arrived as only two small onion rings were provided which felt cheap on the pub's part, as if they were only interested in fulfilling the minimum requirements of making 'onion rings' plural on the menu. It makes me feel petty but I feel like receiving two skimpy onion rings on a £15.50 meal says a lot about the place.

Having decided to order food we settled on sandwiches, figuring you can't really go wrong with that. As it turns out we were very wrong. Having initially been overcharged for the order and having to return to the bar to sort that out we waited at least 30 minutes for our order, and when it finally arrived the salad was hot and the bread on the sandwiches had gone beyond toast and was actually crumbling to the touch from waiting under the gantry lights for probably 20 minutes. Having taken the food back, two managers refused to initially take responsibility for the food and we didn't even receive an apology with the refund. This pub could be nice if the kitchen and front of house staff actually bothered.

Some pubs are places for drinking, others are for eating, the best are for both. The Mudlark sits in the shadow of Southwark Cathedral and its patrons are blessed with bountiful benison - that is if you like sausages, chops, burgers, chicken, battered fish and scampi. The standard menu is appealing and the specials board brief, it explains which selection of superb sausages and chops are available to you, but what appeals most is the cleanliness of the venue and the freshness of the victuals.

I really like this pub. It location is great, right on the Thames path and next to Borough Market. It is busy in the week with people going for lunch or after work, its only a 3 minute walk from London bridge station/tube. At the weekend its mostly locals with a few tourists. Apparently the pub has been used to in several movies, for example, Harry Potter, Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels and I can't remember the others. Its a Nicholson's Pub (a chain) and in my quite extensive experience that means a good pint, a good value English pub meal and reasonable prices.

Eight of us met here for a few beers at 2.00 on a Friday afternoon. Plenty of space in an air conditioned bar and we managed to find a table and purloined enough chairs for us all outside. By 5.00 it was getting quite busy outside, but still quiet inside and easy to get served. Can't remember what it was like at 7.30 when we left ! ! ! ! !

We visited the Mudlark as part of a Nicholson's pub tour. The first thing I spotted on the bar was Timothy Taylors Landlord (£5.00 a pint). The beer was well kept, the staff were on the ball. The food was exceptional. As its in a part of London we frequent (just off Bourgh Market ) we will probabally return

This pub is a good treat for Real Ale lovers. Very close to London Bridge, the pub and its garden are attractive. A good selection of food. Simply a lovely place to visit and chill out.

The good thing about this spot is that unless you know it's there, you won't find it. And, in London-speak, this means it's not overrun with tourists in a very tourist-y area. That said, it is overrun with business people from London Bridge, but I can deal with that more.Tucked away under the bridge it has the added bonus of having a beer garden in Central London. Basically if The George Inn is rammed (ha, as if it's ever anything but) then you can head along to the Mudlark and enjoy a drink in (slightly shady) environs.Service was good and the bar food we ordered was delicious. The macaroni cheese and macaroni cheese bites were both good (no judgment please). Drinks were slightly pricier than your usual Nicholsons but still reasonable for the area.

We had just visited Southwark cathedral and poo dbin here for a bit of lunch. It looked like a nice place and my girlfriend liked the chop and sausage option. The staff were lovely but after we ordered our food and must have waited over 40 minutes. At one point we were given meals that weren't ours and they were taken to the rightful owners and when the meals did come the pork chop was missing the onion rings which was sorted. The chop apparently was over cooked and my fish was very much batter which was difficult to cut.Shame.

Our family was looking for a place to eat in the London Bridge area and came upon the Mudlark Pub. If you like sausage, you'll absolutely LOVE the Mudlark! We each ordered a sausage entree for lunch, and they were delicious! They came with mashed potatoes & gravy (yum!) and hand-battered onion rings. One of us splurged on dessert and tried a sticky toffee pudding. Oh my stars ... it was the BEST! We ate upstairs and walked through the pub area, which was downstairs. Both areas are very inviting! We enjoyed our lunch very much!

Okay little pub. Big outdoor area. Very popular in the summer. Female toilets are tiny though and not easy to get in or out of! Lovely buildings surrounding it.
