Ordered a Christmas hamper on the 18th, took my money and ran. I've had no order confirmation, can't reach them by phone or e-mail, bunch of thieves it seems.

I ordered a hamper on 30th November for pre-xmas delivery. I was told that the hamper would be despatched either Thursday 15th December or Friday 16th December for guaranteed pre-xmas delivery. I wanted it for my friend who's mother was visiting for xmas. I had an email from Cindy who said she was 'confident' that the hamper would be received in time for xmas. The website suggests the shop is open from 11am to 4pm and I have called but no answer. Their website says that once the order has been despatched, the customer will be given a tracking number. I never received such tracking number. I have no idea who the package is being delivered by nor even if it will ever be delivered. I have received the same out of office reply suggesting they'll be reopening on 3rd January. Phone calls and emails providing empty promises. I will be expecting the cheese hamper to be resent and a full refund as a gesture of goodwill.

I ordered two hampers on the 13th December to give people on Christmas Day. The website stated it “guaranteed” delivery before Christmas as long as it was ordered before the 16th. I have tried to call them multiple times over the weekend, but it just rings until I get cut off. I would recommend you stay away from this company to avoid massive disappointment. Quick enough to take the money but not to give the service.

Ordered a cheese truckle hamper in October as a Christmas present for friends. Have been repeatedly lied to about the delivery date, starting with a promise that delivery would be w/c 11th December. It is now Saturday 23rd Dec and the hamper has not been delivered. My last communication promised delivery by Royal Mail by the end of yesterday. Do they really send fresh cheeses out by post?? Today I received an out of office till January email from them. I only hope I can get a refund when they reopen. Disgraceful customer care. Recommended you avoid at all costs.

We found Mouse House Cheese Company when visiting Lincoln Xmas market from Surrey in December. The ladies at the stall were very helpful, especially as hubbie has to have gluten free & bought four different wax coated cheese truckles. They are delicious or rather were! We enjoyed the truckles so much we have placed an order for 7 more (Rainbow box) online. They arrived promptly with an easy to use website (has a gluten free section) & are currently being eaten. We will be back for more!!!

I ordered 3 of the barrel cheeses from the mouse house company online. I ordered on 5th December for a Christmas hamper for my mum. I waited a while for the cheese to arrive, when it did arrive there was a cheese missing. Despite them ticking two lemoncello cheeses they only sent one. I have emailed them regarding this and after a couple of days they did reply. No apology only stating they would give me a refund. I am still waiting for a refund. I did send an email back asking if they could sent the cheese I had ordered and paid for. They haven’t replied to my email. I have now emailed today to receive a reply saying they are closed for Christmas until 4th January. So to sum up they have taken my money and not provided me which what I have ordered, and they are difficult to contact. I would not recommend this company which is a same because the cheese is lovely. Shame about the lack of customer service. Fingers crossed I get the refund.

Ordered a small hamper online for a Christmas gift at beginning of December. After many emails and phone calls I was still waiting for my order on Christmas Eve! I was given a full refund and gift voucher from the company Mouse House advertise with, for which I’m very grateful. Sadly I have not had any explanation/apology from The Mouse House themselves so as a result would not recommend them for online orders

Placed a telephone order for the gorgeous ''Steep Hill cheese truckle'',from the order leaving my mouth, going down the line, through the mind of shop assistant, and written down the order magically transformed to ''the Heart of England cheese truckle''...magic..just like that...what a crazy world we live in.So I've now got £29 worth of cheese i dont truly want because the order was placed on the majority of the order being ''Steep Hill Truckle'' I then Contact the mouse House....Can i send these back for the correct order....No..Covid,(this excuse even though they can send a wax secured truffle to me) No replacement offered,no money back just excuse after excuse and blame being placed on me till i'm blue in the face, just like the reply to this experience will be...it will be my fault.Every excuse from every angle will be used to shift blame to me ....i could swear ''STEEP HILL TRUCKLE'',sounds different to''THE HEART OF LINCOLN TRUCKLE''....but thats me..at least i admit when i'm wrong...good luck you do some great flavours.

Found this cheese company whilst looking for Xmas gifts. I am amazed at the range of cheeses they produce and at great prices too...!! There are flavours and varieties that will suit all tastes. Their website is great for online ordering and offers a range of pre-selected hampers and gift boxes. However, you can also “pick your own” and build your own gift packs. There are multi-buy offers as well. Customer service is exceptional - very fast responses, professional yet friendly. Amazingly, I had a question about my order, emailed at 8.30 at night, and received a reply within minutes. Deliver is fast and the cheeses come packed with ice to keep chilled during transit. This is a family run business which clearly relies on reputation to be successful - they deserve a very well earned excellent reputation. I really value finding a decent company that care about their customers. I will definitely be ordering my cheese from this company again.

This is a great little shop right at the top of Steep Hill just around the corner from the castle. We went in there 2 days running and saw different staff but they were equally as good as eachother. Knowledgable and professional ...... great job girls, keep it up.We bought unusual cheeses to take home. 3 cheeses for £12 and we tasted them all before we bought so we knew what we were getting.A great experience.

My daughter bought me a Father's Day boxed selection of cheeses which I believe were £25, although I admit she's not 100% sure of the price. When these arrived ALL the cheeses were wet/sticky and had to be carefully washed and dried before storing. I opened them according to their use by dates, which meant the blue cheese was first. This was totally rancid. It had turned a dark blackish colour and stunk like it should not have stunk. The second cheese fared little better and ALL were thrown away. Now any business can let something slip by, but here's the problem. I live some 42 miles from the shop and have telephone several times without ever getting an answer on the mobile number provided. I have left two polite yet lengthy requests for a call back but all to no avail. So, £25 down the pan and we won't go near the place again.

The staff in this quirky little cafe could not be more accommodating. We were a group of 7 and everyone was very happy with service, the taste and size of our portions. Cheese is obviously order of the day and it was all delicious. The coffee was also very tasty and the hot chocolate was the nicest people ever had. Please go here and support this friendly local business.

Visited with family. Sat upstairs which is lovely and quaint but were shocked to see how little choice is on the menu for food, however, we did stay and the rest of the family had toasted sandwiches.....due to there being no other hot food choice. I just had a cup of coffee. The sandwiches were average and if anything a bit pricey for what they were. My coffee wasnt very hot so when the waitress came back upstairs I asked if I could have a pot of hot water. When she brought the hot water up she then said that on this occassion I wouldn't be charged for it but if I asked again or on another visit I would have to pay as it was another hot drink. I was really shocked and explained that I only wanted it as my coffee wasn't very hot and I was just adding it to heat it up. She did then say that she would get me another coffee instead but by this time I felt quite annoyed by her first remarks, of me having to pay for hot water, so I declined. I'm afraid that we won't return and I wouldn't recommend due to our experience.

We popped into this little cafe on our way back from walking around the market. What a delight. The food looked good (we only chose cake and hot chocolate on this occasion) and the cake was delicious but the best was the Belgian Hot Chocolate! I've never in my life tasted hot chocolate that was this nice! I took it dark instead of with milk and it tasted like I was drinking chocolate! The ambiance is good too and the staff are friendly and helpful. One can chose to have them make up one's own flavoured coffees too.

The cheese shop is amazing! So many varieties of cheese to choose from and they are only too happy to let you try as many as you’d like to first! Some brilliant offers as well which we took full advantage of at Christmas! The gift boxes were real successes - and our Christmas Eve cheese board was a big hit.

If you’re visiting lincoln castle or Lincoln cathedral pop along to The Mouse House Cheese & Coffee shop. The building is quirky with original features, the team are friendly and helpful. We enjoyed coffee, toasties and homemade cake. The prices are reasonable for the location, the food was made with good quality produce and tasted lovely, I like the different options of cheese with an added bonus if you love your food you can purchase a variety of cheese’s before you leave the shop. We purchased 3 different cheese’s and 2 chutneys to enjoy at home. I highly recommend if you are in the area to take 5 and enjoy a coffee

I popped into the mouse house as it caught me eye heading down steep hill during my visit to Lincoln. It is set in a lovely old building with lots of character so it was right up my street. I must say it was a very pleasant experience overall with great food and the lady that served us was very friendly but I didn’t catch her name. On my way out of the cafe i sampled some of there cheeses and couldn’t resist buying some to take home with me. It was also great to hear that the cheeses were all produced with locally bought milk and then made by a Lincolnshire family which was music to my ears as I was raised in dairy farming. Will definitely pay another visit on my next visit to Lincoln 5 stars from me.

Chose this place for lunch midweek halfterm. We ordered two toasties and a toasted plum bread with cheese. The food was very slow to arrive, as was my coffee. The staff were friendly, but my friends' toasted sandwiches arrived a good 7 minutes or so before my toast (which should have been quick) and so they had nearly finished by the time I got mine. Also, it was very expensive - £10 for a toastie and a coffee seems extreme. The food was good, but not outstanding and didn't warrant the price tag, plus I don't pay £3 for a flat white in London so was a bit surprised at how expensive it was in Lincoln.

Came on Friday lunchtime to meet some business colleagues. The food was fantastic and the service great. Although I did feel for the lady working as she seemed to be on her own, this being said she never stopped. Constantly between the bar and taking food out. She came and asked if all was ok and offered us deserts which we declined because the portions are big and we were full up.
