Honestly the food was excellent value for money! It was so tasty, great portions and even better service by the lovely Sue. I could say that actually might have been the best steak I’ve had in a long time and miles better than beefeater and miller and carter. We will deffo be back!

Had a lovely lunch in the pub on Thursday not made to feel rushed was survived by Paul and Charlie. I had the salmon my colleague had the veg pie it was huge. Only downside was it was so warm next to the radiator. Will definitely be coming back again.

Welcoming staff, nice atmosphere & food arrived quickly. Was a bank holiday so they weren’t doing the lunch menu ?? But food was lovely anyway.

We popped in for a bite to eat after a day shopping on a busy bank holiday. We were greeted very professionally and the service by Sue was excellent- she was helpful and also knew the correct time to allow us to peruse the menu. Sue gave excellent service and was not offended when we did not take up any upselling. The food was delivered to our table in good time and was very nice. Great picturesque environment too. Would recommend - thank you Sue for making us so welcome.

It was a nice evening with family and friends. Lovely dinner, the pudding I think was too big for me. I know they do a smaller option with a drink, think I should have gone for that option. Wonder if the Moorhen have thought about doing half portions without the drink. I still had my drink from the dinner so I didn't go for that option.

This was a spontaneous trip, but the food was lovely, we had very good service food was quick out and no problems at all. Leo was helpful and friendly.

Marvellous service by Leo. Food good and reasonably priced. Very pleasant table by the window overlooking the canal. This was a return visit, and we would certainly come back.

If you’re wandering through Harlow and your stomach starts to sing the blues, direct your feet towards The Moorhen, where the chicken fajitas are so good, they practically dance off the plate! Let’s talk about the chicken fajitas—oh, what a spectacle! I half expected a round of applause from nearby tables as these sizzling beauties made their grand entrance. Wrapped in tortillas so soft you’d think they were crafted from clouds, these fajitas packed a punch of flavour that could knock your socks off. It was like a fiesta on a plate, and my taste buds were wearing tiny sombreros. Now, onto our server, Reece, the maestro of the evening. This chap wasn’t just serving food; he was doling out joy with a side of cheeky banter that kept us giggling between bites. In conclusion, if you find yourself in Harlow with a craving for some culinary delight, waltz on over to The Moorhen. Come for the fajitas, stay for Reece’s service. A dining experience that’s as entertaining as it is satisfying—I can’t recommend it enough! Who knew chicken wrapped in a tortilla could be such a hoot?

The Moorhen and Sue in particular were excellent in accommodating a group of 28 of us for breakfast before a golf trip. Service was fantastic and the food just as good. Would absolutely recommend.

Basic pub food but cooked really well. It was not overcooked as in many such establishments and the service was friendly and prompt. Would recommend especially for families with children, great play facilities. Toilets were clean, tidy and checked regularly.

The server Reece was absolutely fantastic nothing was to much trouble for him, very patient aswel considering there was 3 children in our group

Wonderful and quick service. Shannon was a lovely host to our table. Excellent all round. Highly recommended. We were served our meals within 15 min. Shannon was super attentive to all customers in her section.

Was out for lunch for a double birthday celebration. Most of us had the Trio Roast. Food was excellent value for money, none of us could fault it. Just want to take this opportunity on thanking the waiter Milos for being very hospitable during our visit. He is a credit to the restaurant!

Visited the moorhen in Harlow today, fab pub. Morgan is the best worker at this pub. He is so helpful and kind and is very professional. 10/10 would recommend coming here with friends, family or on a date night. Ask for Morgan for the best dining experience.

Very accommodating realising we had two children with us, moving us to a heated shelter when the weather turned and rained. Good food at a very reasonable price. All staff were very cheerful and friendly even with the poor weather conditions.

Upon arriving at the moorhen we were informed about the Covid rules which made us feel at ease straight away, service was amazing considering how busy it was, drinks were flowing and the atmosphere was great, I would definitely recommend this pub and we will definitely be back in the future!!

Just moved to the area and received a fab service from Morgan after stumbling across the Moorhen on an evening walk. He was attentive, welcoming, friendly and an all round star! Look forward to visiting again soon and hope Morgan would still be in town as he mentioned he was covering due to short staff and wasn’t local. Really great asset.

It was great to be back at the Moorhen last weekend! They have done a wonderful job with the garden..installing heaters and lighting..looks really pretty at night! As ever, great food and great service from Sophie (Friday) and Jordon ( Saturday). Table booked for the next weekend..wheather permitting!
