New Ground in Harlow

A really varied brunch menu, something for everyone. The Chorizo Hash was delicious! Buzzy atmosphere & great friendly service as always.

Wonderful service this morning @New Ground. Staff extremely friendly & helpful. I use an electric scooter, which they where more than happy to accommodate. (which is often not the case! ) Sadly! A warm welcome, coffee and a pan au chocolate! A lovely start to my day. Thank you. I will be back soon

Stopped here for coffee while out walking. Friendly staff and really nice coffee. Nice area to sit outside and enjoy a break.

2nd visit for a brunch. Menu had a good choice and food was lovely Great flavours and portions. Service was good , staff were friendly and helpful Apparently they do evening events which I’m looking out for .

Popped in today for a late breakfast, lovely atmosphere and great service with friendly staff. Refreshing to see a menu that has plenty of variety and food is fresh and top quality, I tried the Turkish eggs dish for the first time and it was superb.

This place is lovely. The food was delicious and the staff are really friendly. The service was spot on. Highly recommend

This hidden gem in Harlow is our favourite place to meet up whether family friends or work colleague's dog friendly staff are superb and the food is gorgeous so different to the 'chain' coffee shops with their plastic food - all cooked fresh to order never been disappointed 😋

We visit here all the time, with family, with friends and also solo. It’s the ONLY nice place to eat breakfast and brunch in the area so we genuinely are shocked that people leave bad reviews. Great coffee and a great menu choice. Yes it’s busy and you may have to wait for a table but how is that a bad thing, it just means it’s well liked! Never had a friend visit with us who didn’t think the food was great. Ps it’s worth visiting just for that blueberry croissant! Wow, first visit here, thought it looked lovely from the outside just looking over when passing by so we decided to pop in. Love that they are dog friendly. It’s not clear whether you go in and order or wait at the table for someone to come over, we waited an hour and felt invisible 😡 others were served and eating while we were still sitting there waiting, we were absolutely starving by the time we got any service and we only got that because we finally asked is someone going to serve us at all today? We had been told by one person before hand that a waitress would be over soon but they never came. We kept looking at the waitresses thinking shortly someone will notice how long we’ve been sitting there but they didn’t even make eye contact. The staff look miserable like they didn’t want to be there and when we did get served it felt like an inconvenience. We couldn’t fault the food but the service was absolutely terrible!!!! Also when we first arrived, four tables had been reserved for someone, there aren’t many tables so that limited where we could sit straight away (great start) three of the tables were metal with the smallest chairs ever that looked like they came from a pre school and needed a good paint (very manky looking). Oh well, what a shame when the food is actually very nice.

Three of us for brunch this morning, friendly & welcoming staff, they advised of a 20 minute wait for food, not a problem & nice to know. Food arrived, 3 different dishes all of which were really tasty and freshly cooked. Not the cheapest place to eat but worth it. We don’t live in the area but will return next time we visit.

Not very good service, not very good food and very expensive . 4 adults, 2 children for breakfast, well 1 full breakfast, 3 had scrambled egg on toast, 1 pancakes with fruit and 1 just had bacon. Tea, coffee and juice £96. Definitely would not go there again.

Love visiting New Ground for brunch, lunch or just a coffee. Karen has made us feel really welcome, she is very friendly and has helped us to feel comfortable ordering using the waitress service at the outside tables. I appreciate this as I am immune compromised. The food and coffee is good quality too, plenty of tasty, healthy vegan and veggie options.

Eight months since my last visit and sadly it will be my last. I can only assume a change in ownership as it was lile a different place. Two of us had a table booked for 7.30 pm - initial reception good, drinks and food order taken quite swiftly. One cocktail arrived, followed by a 10 minute wait and a request to a waiter to chase the second. "Sorry don't know why it's taken so long. Food ordered and arrived- average to good. We then didn't see another member of staff until one waitress tried to clear out plates whilst we were still eating ! The nothing u til I had to ask for the bill - even though we did want another drink. No one checked if the food was satisfactory, if we needed anything, if we would like more drinks - generally shocking. The icing on the cake was when 4 children- whose parents were drinking outside came and set up a table and started flicking sweets at each other. This was the point when I asked for the bill and told the waiter how generally disappointed I had been and the reason I was leaving earlier than planned. He apologised but said there was nothing he could do - really ? Apparently so as the owner said exactly the same when we left. Sorry you had a bad experience, we are short staffed, it's bedlam there has been a local sports day and all the locals turned up, I can't control other people's children ????? There used to be a lovely lady in charge who literally ran around the place- but went to every table during the evening without fail to check guests were satisfied. She hasn't been there on the last three occasions I have been - and it shows. Enough is enough sadly I won't be back.

My local caff. Not your usual greasy spoon as it does, amongst many other dishes, the ubiquitous smashed avocados on sourdough toast. However, it does serve fantastic coffee and the best, if not the cheapest bacon rolls in town. Great staff and great food. What more could you ask for.

Used to be very good pre-Covid, but paid a visit over the Jubilee holiday and just didn’t feel like staff were very accommodating to a Mum on her own with two young children. Had to offer before getting a table as couldn’t leave children alone....
