Not a bad Wetherspoons. Fairly clean and lots of space to sit. The food offer and service however was poor. Food was served almost cold. Waitress didn't smile, say a word or engage with us. I noticed she treated all customers similarly. Never smiling, never engaging, never checking if everything was OK and simply plonking food on the tables without saying anything. There were many tables left uncleared and bar service was slow with not enough staff on duty. It's a shame that some basic staff training lets down the customer experience- not unique to Wetherspoon's- and some of the chain's outlets are much better regarding staff interaction and service.

Ordered on app and the place was empty but still took long time to get food. When i asked where the drinks were i wss told ticket was still sitting on the bar. I guess staff too busy chating to do any work. Got a small beans on toast that seem to be £2.89 for 1 slice of toast and a spoon of beans. Should have ordered 1 toast and side of beans as worked out 78p cheaper. I have no idead was paying extra for the plate. Total jokers

Arrived early for breakfast before shopping in Xscspe. The pub was empty but comfortable. Quick and friendly service and a more than adequate meal for the family. The added bonus of the cleanest Wetherspoons pub I've ever seen. Recommended.

Took a very long time to get served. We specifically asked for a whiskey and coke and a captain Morgan's and coke. We were given a double kracken and coke and when we let the barmaid know she had got our order incorrect, instead of apologizing and correcting the order to give us what we had actually ordered she started arguing with us in an extremely rude manner denying that she had got it wrong. We asked her to change our order to what we had requested and she continued in a rude manner saying she if we carried on asking for something else she would refuse to serve us. At no point were we rude to her but was just met with extreme attitude. Her name was BELLA. I would like this to have some feedback please into how you have dealt with this as I believe this is not the first time she has been rude to other customers according to other people who overhead what was going on. Not a nice experience, very poor service from an aggressive rude person

Wetherspoons really need to vet their door staff because they're hiring some very poor quality/inexperienced doormen. Allowing a group of women to out for a cigarette whilst their friends watch their bags inside, and then not allowing said women to re-enter the pub is ridiculous. They were left outside with no way to contact their friends inside the pub. This was at about 11pm. The doorman wouldn't listen to the gentleman's reasonable explanation that 'doormen out the front allowed them outside, please allow them back in, their bags/phones/drinks are in here' He was very argumentative, spoke poor English with a heavy African accent. He seemed more interested in physical violence when a gentleman tried to allow the women in, and again when he tried to leave to give those women their personal belongings. It seemed the doorman was solely interested in creating unnecessary conflict. so on Sunday me and my friends were at this Wetherspoons in Milton Keynes just before travelling back so I ordered a large breakfast 2 bacon, sausage, eggs etc and when I got my breakfast. half of it were the bacon, toast and eggs were quite cold and wasn't really worth the money and the mocha I had was bland as hell and no taste of hot chocolate or coffee. Please take this advice Don't waste your time and money here unless you like cold breakfast and crap coffee

No way is the chef an adult on a Thursday, more like the old school YTS scheme learning how to cook. My mixed grill was cremated and we're talking about the few pieces of meat that they do give ya are flat as pancakes now, so really how hard is it to turn the pieces over after only a few minutes. Everything else was just cold, daughter left her what was meant to a cheese burger. Come on it looked like those supermarket Birds Eye 20 in a box ones, so cold that even the cheese wouldn't melt on the thing. Extra Onion rings cold, pigs in blanket again cremated, fully loaded chips for that price where were the supermarket fries? We weren't even the only table that thought the food was a joke, an old couple got asked and even they spoke up about the quality of the meal. Another guy took his steak back as his plate was swimming in blood. Hey I know this place from 6 or 7 months ago doesn't give refunds and this type of meal is the norm, with higher prices but less on your plate. So this is more for any future customers who are thinking about eating, while drinking booze that is very close to its expiry date hence the price they charge for it.

Will someone please get hold of the team at this Wetherspoons and retrain them. There are more colleagues that stand about wasting their day, not one acknowledges customers. Today there were more customers with complaints about their food than were ordering. There is regularly just one person serving at the bar with others just aimlessly wandering round. It should be an absolute money maker but poor management and team work ethics is stopping this from happening. Customers are falling over themselves to come in and order food but this set of inept individuals are basically telling them with their actions to go elsewhere. There were more plates, glasses and detritus on tables than they probably had behind the bar and in the kitchen. Colleagues were arguing with each other over the mistakes that were being made. Managers (or those with walkie talkies) could give a damn and have little control over their unruly mob. For goodness sake someone at head office needs to come and sort it out…..

It wasn't very busy. Tables not cleared or cleaned very quickly. Seemed to have a wasp infestation Food was mediocre. Chips all stuck together. Naan bread was like eating cardboard. Messed up one of the drink orders. Single Gin & Lemonade had just Gin in it. When it came back was a Double Gin & Lemonade!

I met up with a friend at the railway station, and we walked up to the pub, for lunch and a drink. It was quite busy and a bit on the loud side, but we ordered our meals and they were brought to our table fairly quickly. I had the sirloin steak and chips, with a glass of red wine as part of the meal deal. The steak was ordered as 'medium' and it was very good - pink inside and lovely with a sachet or two of mustard. The chips were really nice - there was nothing else, just the steak and chips, but with the nice glass of red wine, it seemed good value to me really. I have had 'medium rare' steaks in the past, which were a little too rare, so I tried it 'medium' and was very happy with it - still nice and juicy, not overdone. Getting drinks after the meal was a bit slow, but the place was very busy and naturally the staff very busy too. Perhaps not the place for a nice, quiet, intimate and private experience, but we enjoyed our visit and the food and drinks are good value - several beers between two and three pounds a pint, which is great value really. Thank you, to the Moon Under Water pub.

Prices have gone up, service at the bar is as slow as ever, now you don't even get a pint glass when you order non alcoholic with your big plates standard size glass only. If that's not bad enough you wait at the bar for 15 minutes to place your food order, just so you can state how you would like your steak cooked as you can't on the app, to be told that the cook chooses how you like your steak and you can't specify. Aways ask for and read the receipt after waiting 20 minues for the food, instead of getting the 3 starters that I requested I get one and the other 2 weren't even on the receipt. No point waiting back at the bar, and then waiting again for them to arrive at the table, while the main meal is even colder then what certain parts of the mixed grill already were. People say the meals are cheap and that you get what you pay for, but once you add all the extras to build the meals up and get decent sized drinks your not saving anything to make up for the cold not as you want them cooked meals or drinks.

The worst experience of a weatherpoons ever. Over 50 minutes wait for drinks and food. Food cold and badly cooked on arrival. Drinks still not arrived at the time food arrived. Would NOT recommend a visit to this pub. A total shame given that the MK Marathon Weekend was all about having fun and bringing in people to spend money in the Town.

Well nearly 5 years since my last review of this place and not much has changed, you order a mixed grill with sides of chicken breast as now Its no longer included even though the price has gone up, you go to the bar instead of using the app so that It doesn't come out with the steak undercooked as still the app hasn't been updated. Of course being an adult you asume and forget that old saying in Under Siege 2 ' Assumtion is the mother of all xxxx ups' and ask for It to be well done, then when It finally arrives It's like your kid cooked It on Fathers Day and just left everytghing under the grill, played a game on his/her phone came back 20 minutes later after already turning the meats once remembered the grill and then served It to ya. I have no idea which part of meat was tougher as they were all way over cooked and not even just the small flat piece of steak, which was bad enough but the actual piece of steak It was so cheap It was more like frying steak. No that's not true even frying steak with onions in a sandwich is so much nicer, then whatever or wherever they purchase this cut of steak from. With so many places to eat up city I'll wait another nearly 5 years before I visit again, to see if they have a chef who can cook any better then your 10 or 11 year old can do on Fathers Day.

Had a get together with some friends - we'd used this as a meet up place to get some food and drinks before heading to the escape rooms just down from them. It was really great to catch up with some of the people I haven't seen in ages. I will say that it wasn't the greatest, but for what we wanted it was good enough. We especially like being able to order via app as then we can just keep chatting away whilst waiting.

I went into this pub with my friend and I ordered and paid for a cocktail through the app. Our drinks finally came out and the waiter asks for ID, I didn’t have any - considering I have had some drinks at this pub three years ago and wasn’t asked, I presumed that I didn’t need any. Not only was I denied my drink, but I wasn’t issued a refund. I just thought that was really cheeky. Definitely won’t be taking my business here!

4/5 stars! the food was amazing however the service wasn’t so good- most of the people working seemed very bored and moody and it was very hard to communicate with them. One of the girls forgot some of our food and didn’t correct it so we had to ask someone else but apart from that food was great!

Imagine a waiter putting chicken nuggets down on a table full of vegetarians so we’re all like “oh, these aren’t ours, let’s give them to the next table otherwise they’ll go to waste!” and then 30 mins later the manager is having a go at the other table for stealing the nuggets that were quite literally just plopped down on our table. And then one of the people on our table gets called a liar for saying the waiter didn’t ask if we’d ordered them and just walked away? Apparently none of the spoons waiters would do that ???? Anyway, shoutout to Isa AKA the best waiter of all time <3

Visited twice whilst staying at the Premier Inn on the opposite side of the boulevard. Two very different experiences, in the evening it was difficult to find a table that wasn’t laden with dirty crockery and glasses, I suspect there may have been a staffing issue. We ordered food and drinks, the food arrived about 10 minutes before our drinks, literally thrown on the table by our server without any verbal communication, despite the service with attitude the curry was actually quite good, although the poppadoms were extremely oily, everything else was very tasty. Our breakfast was a much more positive affair, very amenable staff who couldn’t do enough for us, reasonably priced and ready in a flash.

Myself and my son went to the pictures to see Quite place 2 which was really good then we visited this restaurant I have been here many times and had no trouble before they have been very good but today I wasn't impressed i know there are still covid restrictions but this was no excuse there was three ways to order your food NHS app wetherspoons app or ask member of staff to order your meal I did the track and trace but it didn't work we sat there for ages I know they may be short of staff they eventually came took our order then she went of again a alarm was going so we waited but false alarm i had to ask as they hadn't brought our drinks they tried to make a excuse about alarm and when the food eventually came it was cold I didn't enjoy it at all very disappointing I will not be going there again which is a shame as it use to be good thank you Gillian Wiseman

Overcooked, dry, dirty chip oil, a very expensive mixed grill and 2 sides. The worst thing is when you complain to customer services and they say we will take your experience onboard, I even said that Milton Keynes is a city so I can easily find another another pub & grill and that the KFC next door would of been a better meal and cheaper. Safe to say instead of giving me a credit note or a refund for when they've changed the chip oil, that the few customers they had were more important to them before they also close up ship or shop hey wherever this onboard is meant to be.

Imagine turning up between 10am and 2pm to watch the football at 8pm upon arrival staff were all friendly a little slow which is understandable during the times we are in but to come upto us 5 mins before kick off and telling us to move when the pub is packed then when questioned on the matter of how comes we've been served all day been sitting in these seats for 5-6 hours no one's said nothing get told we're being rude so we're all out followed by the manger herself telling us to f*ck off then refused to give me her name to report to someone higher up absolutely unprofessional attached a picture if the manager below stay away from this woman

Visited with my daughter a toddler and a baby. Due to covid restrictions went in and was greeted by an empty desk with posters and instructions over track and trace and what to do. Took about 10 mins to complete. No staff approached to seat us and no instructions over asking us to wait to be seated We seated ourselves in a booth with enough room to feed baby and keep pushchair out of the way. This was apparently wrong as staff gleared and were not happy. We had to download the app to order which took ages. There were no facilities on the app to add comments regarding our order. The menu stated any issues to go to the bar with a mask which my daughter did. This was met by attitide from the staff who told her to sit back down. The guy who came to our table was really nice but unfortunately we were already unimpressed and not enjoying our experience. To add isult to injury a whole group of adults who were not following guidelines and not wearing masks came in behind us. They seated themsleves and did not complete track and trace. They were not challenged! As a reward they recieved table serviced! Something we would have benefited from. Come on guys consistency!!! Food however was nice although mine was cold and needed to be sent back. Not in a rush to go back staff need to check their attitudes

I work all over the country and I visit wetherspoons a lot for a cheap evening meal. I have to say this is one of the worst and by saying that I don't me most of them are good. After waiting 40 minutes for a single pint of lager which we have to order on the app nowadays I went to the bar to ask what the problem was only to be given attitude as if it was my fault by the bar manager. The tables were dirty, the service is unforgivable and the bar manager shouldn't even have a job. Give it a miss, absolute joke.

The staff here are very friendly and the food was ok. It has got to be the coldest restaurant I have ever eaten in. We were freezing. The food arrived OK but it took 40 mins to get our drinks. (which they did re-fund because of this) made us que outside on a very cold day so people could do track n trace. That needs improvement. Its table service only unless you order a coffee where you have to go and get it yourself. This is a very poor restaurant. Shame

Extremely rude encounter with a bald headed guy who identifies as the boss, stingy and obnoxious. No social distancing in the queue and the food was mediocre. On top of that there’s Conservative propaganda all over the windows. Better pubs in Milton Keynes for sure.

It was getting past 5pm and my kids and I were looking for somewhere around MK central to eat where we didn’t need to book a table and could get the ‘eat out to help out scheme.’ The restaurant appear to be doing everything they can to be COVID secure. There were pretty much queues for every restaurant in the Xscape. Saw this Weatherspoon’s Pub and despite it being very busy, we didn’t have to queue and we got a table straight away. Ordered everything using the App and the food was served within 20mins. Really tasty, we had a starter of chicken strips, burgers, pasta dish, spaghetti and chicken nuggets for the kids plus a couple of soft drinks. The total bill came to £13! Customer service was good too. I really hope they extend the ‘eat out to help out scheme’..............

10/10 for hygiene and Covid awareness, every single member of staff 100% aware of their responsibilities and doing an excellent job of executing them For which I am grateful.Food however pretty dreadful, curry only seconds from death in the microwave, it was edible but very chewy.Special mention to the off duty member of staff with his friend who works in McDonalds who was super friendly!

If I could give a minus review I would. All predicated on the appalling attitude of someone identifying himself we the manager. Rude, obnoxious, discourteous and arrogant. Everything someone in customer service shouldn’t be. What’s more concerning is as a regular visitor to a Wetherspoons in many, many locations, this ‘oik’ does all the good staff of Wetherspoons a massive disservice. I don’t complain about people as a rule but this ‘oik’ is a liability to a business in need of support.

Visited Sunday 23rd Feb approx 2pm.First Impressions:Tired looking decor, scruffy staff, food all over floor, uncleared tables.Not a good start.Sat at table 35 with my 16 year daughter. Table was filthy and sticky which I got on my sleeves. Downloaded the app and ordered by mobile as a trial.Ordered steak, egg and chips, 11" Pizza for my daughter.Food arrived quickly without the drinks we had also ordered. Drinks arrived 5 mins after.Food was average as usual as in most Weatherspoons which is acceptable, you get what you pay for.What's not acceptable is the cleanliness of this establishment and the lack of general hygiene.This can also be said for other Weatherspoons recently visited.Cmon spoonies sort this out or your business will fold

This restaurant is just across the road from the theatre, in the snowdome, so location is great. Food pretty good too, serlion steak etc + a drink for £8.50 ( on Tuesdays ) Usual Wetherspoons menu, spacious pub and pretty clean for a Spoons!

I have had the weatherspoons pigs in blankets previously this year and they were fine but after ordering them today, this is what I received. How stupid. Just a bowl of cocktail sausages.

Visited around 18.15 today. Bar was fairly quiet. The bar man (tall, dark glasses, average build) attending the bar where I was standing served 3 people who came up to the bar after me. In the end I managed to attract the attention of a bar man right down the far end. He was helpful.

Visited this Wetherspoons pub for breakfast this morning with my wife. Told a 45minute wait for food. Whilst waiting the next table received their food,to send it back as it was cold. Ourfood eventually arrived.My wife's was fine, mine was cold and very greasy. Obviously no temperature testing in the kitchen,and obviously no quality control.

Just had the most awful experience at Moon Under Water Wetherspoons Milton Keynes. I had the Large Breakfast. The eggs were like rubber, the bacon was charred on the ends and on biting into the fried tomato I bit into a small piece of copper wire!! My husband told the barmaid and she just said hope you didn’t get hurt! Safe to say we won’t be back but had to leave a review as I just can not believe how bad it was!

We sat and ordered and paid for drinks via the app. 30 minutes later, no drinks had arrived so we went to the bar to chase them up, and the order had never been processed. It then took several minutes to get the manager to process a refund as we had to get to an appointment. No apology received!

Firstly, the bar staff aren’t interested in serving the customers. Then we sat down and there was glass on two of the chairs! The staff delivering the food spilled half of it on the table, then didn’t acknowledge it. One even pushed a plate through the spilled chips and smushed them on the table, then just walked off when we mentioned it. Another person delivered the food, put food in front of the wrong person despite being told otherwise, and didn’t tell us how hot the plates were which led to a 5 year old burning his fingers! Astonished that an established chain like Wetherspoons would let incompetent and arrogant staff work for them

We booked a night at the theatre to watch Les Miserables and agreed on the venue. A group of 8 a quick bite and a drink perfect start to a perfect evening after a long day at work. Drinks were ordered along with our meals, lots of laughs great start. 2 meals arrived compliments to the chef our meals were perfect. The rest of the group waited patiently, but after 40 minutes began to panic, due to our pre arranged theatre. A couple from the group went to check at the bar how much longer it would be. Unfortunately this is where things went down hill due to the duty manager(Sherry) rude unprofessional attitude. She slammed the plate down and said ‘we busy’ no apology. Extremely rude and unpleasant. The waiter laughed and was just as oblivious on how to apologise. As I said the food was great, the bar staff are great but your duty manager Sherry lacks customer service experience. Such a shame

Went here for a meal before going to the theatre ( which is just across the road ) I had looked in restaurants around the theatre district but they were all very busy and expensive. One sad the wait for food would be an hour...not so at Wetherspoons. I ordered straight away, had a magazine on the table to read, but hadn't got far when the food arrived 10 minutes at most. OK its not cordon bleu, but a good, hot and tasty plate of sausages and mash

This was my 1st and last visit to this disgusting,run down,dirty place..I ordered an all day breakfast,and the whole thing was inedible!!the beans had a sour gone off taste,and were very runny like water had been added to the sauce!!the chips were like mashed potatoe,each time I tried to put one on my fork it basically fell apart, all the chips were mushy,soggy and wet..the bacon had a slight green tinge to it and smell..absolutely disgusting food,my daughter ordered a buttermilk chicken breast burger with chips,and once again her chips were absolutely inedible just like mine,and she also bit into her burger and found grissly chunks of fat and uncooked chicken..I regret ever stepping foot in that place!!..if you are looking for somewhere to eat,avoid this place at all costs!!....

Popped in twice today whilst working away, unless you like standing at the bar without a drink I wouldn’t bother.... staff are too interested in sl*gging off the iOrder system than to actually get some pints served, there’s an elder woman who should probably be retired (not nocking her) who has got more work in her than the kids who are working behind the bar, after the 1st long wait I timed the second stint to th bar (only ordering a carling .... bud light 2nd time as they ran out of carling lol it gets better) first trip to the bar took about 10 minutes, second trip, 14 minutes before I was even acknowledged and then 18 minutes between the time I stood at the bar to the time I was served, it’s not even busy the staff are just busy moaning.... would have loved to be a mystery shopper here today 0%

At the price, you can't expect anything too spectacular. What you do get is very quick service, extremely low prices and decent food. You get free refills on your coffee and a nice range of sauces. I often go there for the breakfast menu and I've never had a bad experience. The toilets can be nasty and I was randomly verbally abused by strangers (making unnecessary racial comments in an attempt to intimidate me while pointing at me) on a nearby table a few months back, which was an unpleasant experience but not necessarily Moon Under's fault; I guess this is just the sort of crowd that this place attracts sometimes.

this pub is great for food. we go every week - have done for past 3 years, because the steaks are great and amazing value compared to anywhere else around and consistantly great taste. You can go to posh nosh places but the steaks are never as good.The place is a bit run down but the atmostphere is buzzing and we've always managed to get a seat.the waiters are always friendly and helpful. they need new chairs/seats but it's a small point compared to excellent service and food.

Worst experience ever from a Wetherspoon's pub. Arrived at around 2.30 on the 9/2, managed to find a table pretty quickly although there were still glasses left over from the previous occupants. Went to order at the bar after about 5 minutes of deciding what we all wanted. Got served within a few minutes, no problems there, everything was apparently in stock. Took our drinks and sat back down. 15 minutes go past and someone comes out to tell me that they have no quinoa for the salad. Shouldn't take you this long to let me know but okay. She then proceeds to walk off and comes back 5 minutes later asking me what else I'd like. Asked for a jacket potato with coleslaw and tuna, which should take a maximum of 5 minutes to prepare. 30 minutes later, still waiting for our food, even though we weren't told about having any wait. Went to the bar to ask to speak to the duty manager but apparently serving people beer is more important than dealing with a customer complaint. Eventually spoke to a team leader who had no idea why our food had been put on hold for so long or why no one told us about the wait. Also asked if someone could clear our table as in the 50 minutes we'd been there no one had bothered to. She said our food would be out in a minute. When it eventually came out two of the meals were cold-the eggs were literally rubbery so that you could throw them, bacon was like rock, gammon cold and overcooked. We complained to the floor staff who said that they could redo them but by that time we'd already been waiting an hour for our food so we decided to get a refund and just have the two kids meals as by that point my 2 year old was starving.Someone finally cleared our table over an hour after we'd sat down there. Asked several times to speak to the duty manager but he never came over to speak to us or apologise. If he doesn't want to deal with customer complaints I suggests he demotes himself because he quite clearly has no clue how to deal with customers. In fact, none of the staff seem to, as not once did we receive an apology for how terrible the food and the service was. I suggest you avoid at all costs unless you want an unnecessarily long wait, disgusting food, and rude staff who have no idea how to deal with customers at all.

Absolutely disgusted by the service here. My boyfriend was refused service, completely sober, after refusing to remove his hat. He is a 19 year old boy who has recently suffered with sudden Alopecia Totalis, causing him to lose all of his hair and facial hair. Understandably, as any person either male or female would do, he is extremely self conscious and not comfortable removing his hat, whether it is in front of strangers, friends or family. He explained this to the staff but was still refused service, and left feeling humiliated, saying it was his most embarrassing experience. As much as I can understand safety concerns regarding hats in certain venues and situations, in a casual establishment such as Wetherspoons which usually enforces little to no dress code, a man of his age with his condition shouldn’t be left feeling so degraded, and I’d hope in this day and age we could show a little more compassion and understanding. I hope the staff never have to experience any level of insecurity which my partner does, I am so incredibly disappointed in the lack of empathy.

Made a rare visit to this palace of pints on a Sunday afternoon. Very busy, as usual, but the service was prompt and friendly. And the beer prices are unbeatable. Shame though that several customers had to go in search of bar staff because so many tables were littered with empty glasses.

Last Sunday we had dinner in this restaurant. After main meal, my sister in law wanted to order dessert. She stood right in front of the till and waited for the waitress to finish counting. When the waitress finished, she walked away and served another customer of her choice. I took my family out to Witherspoon at Milton Keynes today for our Christmas shopping trip and decided to have lunch while we were there. Eight of us in total. We chose our meals and placed the order with the bar person. We didn’t have to wait long. Our meal all came together, but we had a problem with one. I went to find the manager who handled the problem most professionally. Sorted it in minutes. She resolved the problem and we all carried on and enjoyed our meal. Well done Jamie you are a credit to your company. Thanks for your help. We will definitely recommend and be back.

Hi, I wonder why the xcape pub does not like to offer enough napkins for customers? Today as always they gave me just 1 napkins to eat my burger, this time I had to talk to the manager about this as I asked for more napkins and they did not bring me I had to go to the bar to ask for more napkins one more time. The apology was that it was busy but it was not busy I told the manager. Are you going to lose customers because of something so cheap? I hope you correct this mistake thank you.
